Dear Family of Mary!

“Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer for you. Without God you do not have peace. Therefore, little children, pray for peace in your hearts and families, so that Jesus can be born in you and give you His love and blessing. The world is at war because hearts are full of hatred and jealousy. In the eyes, little children, peacelessness is seen because you have not permitted Jesus to be born in your lives. Seek Him, pray, and He will give Himself to you in the Child who is joy and peace. I am with you and I pray for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (November 25, 2019)

The more I read this message, the more I understand that Our Lady is trying to prepare us for Christmas. This message is an Advent message.

“May this time be a time of prayer for you.” Advent is a time of prayer, very much like Lent. In Advent we try to pray more. So, Our Lady is talking about how to spend our Advent. More Prayer!!

“Without God you do not have peace.” This simple statement has never been more evident. Without God, peace is impossible. And we see that peacelessness everywhere today.

“Therefore, little children, pray for peace in your hearts and families, so that Jesus can be born in you and give you His love and blessing.”
If we pray for peace during this Advent, Jesus will come to us and be born in our hearts. Isn’t that what we need the most? Our poor hearts are like the stable at Bethlehem, empty, dirty and forlorn. There is no light there. Our Lady tells us to yearn for Jesus, yearn for peace, and Jesus will be born in us.

“The world is at war because hearts are full of hatred and jealousy.” When we are far from God, we are unprotected from our enemy. If Jesus is not born in our hearts, they are vacant and vulnerable. Satan can enter and create hatred and jealousy in our thoughts, feeling and actions. Satan can turn us inward, where we care only about ourselves, and the result is loneliness and anxiety, hatred and jealousy.

“In the eyes, little children, peacelessness is seen because you have not permitted Jesus to be born in your lives.” Our Lady sees us, she looks in our eyes. She can see if we are at peace. She knows that Jesus is the only one who can save us. She wants Him to be born in us, just as He was born in the stable all those years ago. She wants us to welcome Him, let Him come into us, and save us.

“Seek Him, pray, and He will give Himself to you in the Child who is joy and peace.” The answer for us is so simple. Seek Jesus, just ask Him to come, look for Him, and He will come on Christmas Day as He did all those years ago, and give Himself to us – in the Child!!! Baby Jesus will come to us, to save us.

“I am with you and I pray for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady is with us to help us achieve this wonderful union with Baby Jesus. She wants us to receive the Child in our hearts on Christmas Day. We must pray for this to happen this Advent.

This message should be our Daily Advent prayer!

The Youth Festival is a huge and joyful time of thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving Day (USA)
Dear Family of Mary!

Today in the USA we have a special day set aside to give thanks to God for all our blessings. It is a beautiful family day. Giving thanks is a very healing practice. All we are and have has been given to us by God. So giving thanks to Him is the perfect response to those gifts and a gesture that communicates to God that we love Him dearly!! So, let’s practice thanksgiving today, and every day!

Our Lady once told us:

“Dear children! Today I invite you all to rejoice in the life which God gives you. Little children, rejoice in God, the Creator, because He has created you so wonderfully. Pray that your life be joyful thanksgiving which flows out of your heart like a river of joy. Little children, give thanks unceasingly for all that you possess, for each little gift which God has given you, so that a joyful blessing always comes down from God upon your life. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (August 25, 1988)

St. Faustina wrote this most beautiful hymn of thanksgiving and praise! Through it we can rejoice in God, our Creator:

Be adored, O our Creator and Lord.
O universe, humbly glorify your God;
Thank your Creator to the best of your powers
And praise God’s incomprehensible   mercy.

Come, O earth, in all your fine greenery;
Come, you too, O fathomless sea.
Let your gratitude become a loving song,
And sing the greatness of God’s mercy.

Come, beautiful, radiant sun.
Come, bright dawn which precedes it.
Join in one hymn, and let your clear voices
Sing in one accord God’s great mercy.

Come, hills and valleys, sighing woods and thickets,
Come, lovely flowers of morning tide;
Let your unique scent
Adore and glorify God’s mercy.

Come, all you lovely things of earth,
At which man does not cease to wonder.
Come, adore God in your harmony,
Glorifying God’s inconceivable mercy.

Come, indelible beauty of all the earth,
And, with great humility, adore your Creator,
For all things are locked in His mercy,
With one mighty voice all things cry out; how great is the mercy of God.

But above all these beauties,
A more pleasing praise to God
Is a soul innocent and filled with childlike trust
Which, through grace, is closely bound to Him. (1750 Diary)

Mother Teresa of Calcutta spoke about prayer and the connection between prayer in the family and peace. Here is a transcript of an old video in which she spoke about prayer and its fruit:

St. Teresa of Calcutta:

Where does this love begin? In our own family. In our own home…

How does it begin? By praying together.

The family that prays together stays together.

And if you stay together, you will love one another. As God loves each one of you.

Today in the world there is so much suffering…because of the want of prayer, of unity in the family.

So today when we are together, let us make one strong resolution that we will bring prayer into our family.

That we will teach our children to pray.

And pray with them.

And you will see the joy and the love and the peace that will come into your heart.

Because the fruit of prayer is a deepening of faith.

And the fruit of faith is love.

And the fruit of love is service.

And the fruit of service is peace.

Works of love are works of peace.

That is why let us bring the tender love of God in our family.

St. Cecilia

Dear Family of Mary!

This is the last reflection before we receive the message on November 25. I like to prayerfully reread the previous month’s message while anticipating the new one. So, here is the October 25, 2019 message:

“Dear children! Today I call you to prayer. May prayer be a balm to your soul, because the fruit of prayer is joy, giving and witnessing God to others – through your life. Little children, in complete surrender to God, He will take care of everything and will bless you; and your sacrifices will have meaning. I am with you and bless all of you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (October 25, 2019)

This message means so much to me. These past few months have been full of societal upheaval. It would be easy to lose our peace in such a tumultuous time. But Our Lady simply calls us to prayer. “May prayer be a balm to your soul…” She tells us that God will take care of everything…He will bless us…and all the tough times we go through will have meaning. And to top it off, she says, “I will be with you and bless all of you with my motherly blessing.”

We are covered with protection and grace through Our Lady’s blessing and guidance. In gratitude, we look forward to her message on November 25!

A Baptism!  Such a wonderful moment of presentation!!

November 21, 2019
The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Dear Family of Mary!

On this day we remember the Presentation of Our Lady in the Temple. Though this event is not part Scripture itself, it is an accepted part of the Catholic Tradition. Our Lady, as a young girl, was offered to God by her parents, Sts. Joachim and Anne. She was taken to the Temple where she lived for a while, serving and learning about the Lord. We can only imagine how precious and loving she was as a child. She must have soaked up everything about the Jewish tradition during that time.

Mary’s time in the temple prepared her to be the “Handmaid of the Lord” who later in her life would so readily offer herself to the Father when the Angel Gabriel came to announce the plan of God, that she become the Mother of His Son.

The idea of presentation exists in our own lives as Catholics. At our Baptism, each of us is presented by our parents to the priest, as a representative of the Church, to be received into the family of God. And at our First Communion, after our first Confession, we are presented to the Church in order to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. And then at Confirmation, we are presented to the Bishop, to receive the Holy Spirit as we enter adulthood as Catholics.

These presentations are signal moments in our lives. They tell us who we are as Catholics and they provide for us the necessary saving grace we need to follow Jesus.

Our Lady has spoken several times in her messages about presenting us to her Son. Here is one message:

December 25, 1995 “Dear Children! Today I also rejoice with you and I bring you little Jesus, so that He may bless you. I invite you, dear children, so that your life may be united with Him. Jesus is the King of Peace and only He can give you the peace that you seek. I am with you and I present you to Jesus in a special way, now in this new time in which one should decide for Him. This time is the time of grace. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Our Mother tells us that she is presenting us to Jesus “in a special way, now in this new time in which one should decide for Him.” It is almost as if she, as our Mother, is presenting us to Jesus, for us to receive from Him the graces we need for this new time. Just as we were presented for Baptism, Holy Communion, and Confirmation, she is presenting us to Jesus for the special graces that we will need in this time we are in.

I don’t mean to equate this presentation with a sacrament. No, we have all we need from the Church already. But there are special gifts that we could certainly use, such as an increase of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.   There are also Fruits of the Holy Spirit that we desperately need: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control. Our Lady presents us to Jesus so that He can give us what we need in these days to remain faithful and secure, so that we can help Our Lady to reach all the souls who do not yet know her Son.

So when Our Lady tells us she is presenting us to her Son, we should get excited! It means we are being brought before Jesus to be given Gifts and Fruits!!!

Thousands pray with Our Lady for the 38th Anniversary

November 20, 2019

Dear Family of Mary!

June 25, 2006 “Dear children! With great joy in my heart I thank you for all the prayers that, in these days, you offered for my intentions. Know, little children, that you will not regret it, neither you nor your children. God will reward you with great graces and you will merit eternal life. I am near you and thank all those who, through these years, have accepted my messages, have poured them into their life and decided for holiness and peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

This message from 2006 continues to amaze me. This message was given on the 25th Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje. Our Lady was looking back over 25 years of her presence in Medjugorje. She was recalling 25 years of apparitions to the visionaries and 25 years of messages to the villagers and the pilgrims.

The Lord had allowed her to come every day for those 25 years, to teach us to pray and to convert. And for those 25 years Our Lady had been building a furnace of prayer in Medjugorje, a powerhouse of prayer that was centered at the parish church, with the Rosary, Holy Mass, Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, Confession, Veneration of the Holy Cross, and countless novenas and special prayers prayed day in and out in Medjugorje!

She also built a prayer program on the mountains, where parishioners and pilgrims climb, do penance, and pray in silence while meditating on the Mysteries of the Rosary and the Stations of the Cross. Truly the entire village is a place of prayer now, due to Our Lady’s guiding hand, teaching us all how to pray.

And in this message on the 25th Anniversary, she thanked us all for having prayed for her intentions. Having taught us how to pray, Our Lady was now able to reap the fruit of that prayer. Her intentions for the salvation of souls throughout the world were being lifted up by our prayers.

She told us, and tells us, that we will not regret it! In the future we will not be full of regret at spending our time praying for her intentions. On the contrary, we and our children will be jubilant! We will receive great rewards from God for having helped Mary in her task of saving souls in these days. In fact, by cooperating with Our Lady’s plan we will merit eternal life!!!

Eternal life!!! Nothing matters more than attaining eternal life with God in Heaven. Nothing compares to living forever with our God.

I believe we are still called to pray for Our Lady’s intentions, 13 years later. The work is not finished. In fact, if we look at the world, it would seem the job will never end! But it will. We are on the winning side with Mary. She has come to change the world. And we can help her still, by praying for her intentions.

Denis and I find that we now keep the Mary TV channel going all day long in our home. And when our work permits, we pray along with the rosaries, pray along with the English Mass, pray along with the whole evening program including adoration…we just pray along with the parish all day long. While doing this we are praying for Our Lady’s intentions in these days. And it is wonderful!

God bless all of you, our shipmates, for making Mary TV a reality. And may we all accept Our Lady’s messages, and pour them into our lives, deciding for holiness and peace and responding to her call!!!

Dear Family of Mary!

I have noticed that often when Our Lady speaks about eternity or eternal life, she also speaks about conversion. Take this message as an example:

March 25, 2008 “Dear children! I call you to work on your personal conversion. You are still far from meeting with God in your heart. Therefore, spend all the more time in prayer and Adoration of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, for Him to change you and to put into your hearts a living faith and a desire for eternal life. Everything is passing, little children, only God is not passing. I am with you and I encourage you with love. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

There is a connection between conversion and experiencing the reality of eternity. There are many testimonies in which someone living a life without God has an accident, a near death experience, or a dream in which he or she encounters the reality of Heaven and Hell. The experience is so deep and so real that when the person wakes up or is brought back from the brink, he or she has a change of life, a conversion to faith in God.

It is also documented that the Vicka and Jakov, visionaries in Medjugorje, were taken to Heaven, Hell and Purgatory by Our Lady. This experience was important for them, so that they would be steadfast and serious about their task of sharing Our Lady’s presence. They needed the conversion that comes from experiencing eternity, and Our Lady wanted them to be witnesses of eternity for others.

Eternity is a reality that cannot be explained or described. It is the absence of time. It is a final destination from which one can never leave. Eternity never ends. We who live on earth, with its rotation which makes day and night and its revolution around the sun which makes the seasons, have a built-in sense of motion and change. Things begin and end for us. We cannot conceive of eternity. But when the veil is pulled back even a little bit, we can begin to imagine it.

Our Lady wants us to really grasp eternity. She knows that we need a firm grasp of it in order to live our lives for God. As she said: “…spend all the more time in prayer and Adoration of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, for Him to change you and to put into your hearts a living faith and a desire for eternal life.” The more time we spend with Jesus, the more we will comprehend eternity. Have you ever noticed that after an hour of silent adoration you feel like you have been somewhere else? You have been in a time warp! You have been touching eternity in Jesus. As we spend time with Jesus in this way, we will realize we are made for Heaven. And we will do all we can to be ready for Heaven.

“Everything is passing, little children, only God is not passing.” Everything on this earth is going only one way, and that is to its natural end. But we have been created with immortal souls, we do not follow the rest of creation in dying away. We are made to live forever and ever and ever. It is our choice where we spend that forever. Will it be with God? Yes, because we are on the way of conversion!

And we have the best help of all. “I am with you and I encourage you with love.” Our Lady is with us to help us to choose God and with her, find our way home. May we grow in our desire for eternal life! May we grow in our desire for God!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

PS. The testimony of Regina Collins in our Fruit of Medjugorje Archive is a nice example of someone who encounters Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and is drawn into eternity for a moment. Regina Collins went to Medjugorje in a state of deep depression and anger over her life. But she encountered Jesus and Mary in such a way that her heart was completely healed. The Dedication of the Basilicas of Sts. Peter and Paul, Apostles
St. Rose Philippine Duchesne

Dear Family of Mary!

We are in the last two weeks of this Liturgical Year – 2019. The readings we are hearing at Mass deal with the last things, with death, judgement and eternity. This makes us grow increasingly aware of our own future. We all have a future. But what that future will be depends on how radically we have chosen to follow Jesus.

I hope to use these last two weeks as a time to reflect on what Our Lady has said to us about our own personal futures. She is not shy to talk about this reality. Maybe, with her help, we can reflect on this most important aspect of our lives.

In 1986, she said to us:

November 27, 1986 “Dear children! Again today I call you to consecrate your life to me with love, so I am able to guide you with love. I love you, dear children, with a special love and I desire to bring you all to Heaven unto God. I want you to realize that this life lasts briefly compared to the one in Heaven. Therefore, dear children, decide again today for God. Only that way will I be able to show how much you are dear to me and how much I desire all to be saved and to be with me in Heaven. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

“Dear children! Again today I call you to consecrate your life to me with love, so I am able to guide you with love…”

Our Lady begins this message by calling us to consecrate ourselves, our entire lives, all of our selves, to her. She wants to be able to guide us, with love. But she can’t do it without our consecration to her. It is easy to overlook this call to consecration. Most of us have done some kind of consecration to Mary in our past. But we may be forgetting it in our day to day lives.

We want to know what she has to say about Heaven. But we won’t get very far on our own steam with our own ideas. We have to surrender to Mary every day and let her lead us towards Heaven and unity with God. We have to make our consecration every day!!

So before we go any further, let’s pray this short consecration to Our Lady. Say it with simplicity and trust. It will prepare us to hear the rest of the message:

Act of Consecration to Mary
O my Queen, O my Mother, I love you and give myself to you. I give to you this day my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, my whole self. Since I am yours, keep me and guard me as your child forever. Amen.

I think if we memorize this little consecration and pray it often throughout the day, we will begin to experience the power of living under Mary’s guidance.

“I love you, dear children, with a special love and I desire to bring you all to Heaven unto God…”

Once we have given ourselves to Our Lady, she will show us her special love. That love brings us to Heaven unto God! The fruit of our consecration to Mary will be an infilling of her love, which will change us. Her love will teach us what love really is, and we will begin to love as well. That love will help us to draw closer to the reality of Heaven.

“I want you to realize that this life lasts briefly compared to the one in Heaven…”

As we grow in Our Mother’s school of love, we will begin to have her eternal perspective on our lives. We will begin to comprehend Heaven in all its glory, and what the word “forever” really means. We will be able to see our earthly lives in comparison to the “forever life” of Heaven, and we will loosen our tight grip on the present. In comparison to “forever” what are a few years on earth?

“Therefore, dear children, decide again today for God. Only that way will I be able to show how much you are dear to me and how much I desire all to be saved and to be with me in Heaven…”

The bottom line is that if we are living our lives in consecration to Our Lady, and we begin to see our lives on earth as only a short preparation for eternity, we will be ready each day to decide for God! We will want to live for God, because our Mother lives for God, and we want to follow her lead. Her desire for our salvation will be an impetus for our own change of heart. We will want what she wants. And she wants us to become holy and live with her in God. Once we have done that, we will fall in love with God ourselves, and that is of course, Heaven. We want to be with God in Heaven forever!!

So today, let’s consecrate ourselves to Mary, and see what happens. If we do it every day we will really see what happens!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Dear Family of Mary!

“…The Heavenly Father gave Himself through a human face, and this face is the face of my Son. You, apostles of my love, you should always carry the face of my Son in your hearts and your thoughts. You should always think of His love and His sacrifice. You should pray to always feel His presence, because, apostles of my love, that is the way for you to help all those who do not know my Son, who have not come to know His love…” (November 2, 2019)

O Adorable Face, hidden in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar,*

O Adorable Face, which will appear at the end of time in the clouds, with great power and majesty,*

O Adorable Face, which will cause sinners to tremble with terror,*

O Adorable Face, which will fill the just with joy for all eternity,*

V. O Lord, show us Thy Face,
R. And we shall be saved.
Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world:
Spare us, O Lord!

Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world:
Graciously hear us, O Lord!

Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world:
Have mercy on us, O Lord!

Let us pray:
I salute Thee, I adore Thee, I love Thee, O adorable Face of Jesus, my Beloved, noble seal of the Divinity! With all the powers of my soul, I apply myself to Thee, and most humbly pray Thee to imprint in us all the features of Thy Divine Countenance. R. Amen.

We beseech Thee, O Almighty and merciful God, grant to us and to all who venerate the Countenance of Thy dearly beloved Son, all disfigured by our sins, the grace to behold It throughout eternity in the glory of its majesty.

Through the same Jesus Christ Our Lord, Who is, with Thee and the Holy Spirit, every one God, world without end. R. Amen.

O my Jesus! cast upon us a look of mercy; turn Thy Face toward each of us as Thou didst to Veronica; not that we may see It with our bodily eyes, for this we do not deserve, but turn It toward our hearts, so that remembering Thee, we may ever draw from this fountain of strength the vigor necessary to sustain the combats of life. Amen.
