Many will call Me Mother!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016 JMJ August 24, 2016 St. Bartholomew Dear Family of Mary! “…My Son, when He was little, often said to me that there will be many who will love me and call me ‘mother’. Among you, I feel love. Thank you…”(August 2, 2016) Our Lady just snuck into the August 2 message this little peak into her life with Jesus, when He was a little boy. Isn’t it beautiful? Imagine Mother Mary walking down the road with little Jesus, maybe they are holding hands, maybe they are carrying things from the market in Nazareth. Anyway, they are just walking and talking a bit. And the little Jesus looks up at His Mother, and says something like, “You know, Mom, there will be many who will love you and call you ‘mother’.” I am sure Our Lady had no idea what he was talking about. There were just the three of them in the family. She may have smiled, and wondered what He meant. She obviously tucked His words away in her memory and her heart for a later day. And she says that Jesus “often” said those words to her. He knew something. He knew that He was going to acquire many brothers and sisters and that those “spiritual” siblings would look to Our Lady as their Mother. He knew it was the plan of His Father to build a family around Him, a family that would become a Kingdom. And He knew that that Kingdom would need a Queen. Actually, a Queen Mother! And He knew that His Mother would be the one! Obviously He knew this, because when He was dying on the Cross, He made it official.“Behold your Mother,” he told John. “Behold your son,” He told Mary. Jesus opened up His family to all of us sinful, unruly, needy people who would be attracted to Him, fed by Him, forgiven by Him, and restored by Him. And we would all need a Mother. Not just any mother, but “The Mother”. Imagine now that Mother Mary is walking down the road with you, the little you that needs to hold her hand and be guided and cared for by her. Imagine her looking down at you and smiling, and telling you this little story from her heart: “…My Son, when He was little, often said to me that there will be many who will love me and call me ‘mother’. [With] you, I feel love. Thank you…” We are some of the one’s Jesus was talking about. We call Mary our Mother. We love her. And she feels our love. It is the love of mother and child. There is no stronger bond, no stronger connection than this love. Our Lady has bonded with us, and we with her. She is our Mother now. We are helping to build that family that Jesus foresaw. Pretty neat! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2016
