The things that make for peace!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2017 J.M.J. January 16, 2017 Dear Family of Mary! Here is the Christmas Message through Jakov, once again. It is easy to lose track of it with all that takes place at Christmas: “Dear children!  Today, on this day of grace, in a special way, I am calling you to pray for peace. Children, I came here as the Queen of Peace and how many times have I called you to pray for peace. But, children, your hearts are restless. Sin is preventing you from opening yourselves completely to grace and peace which God desires to give you. To live peace, my children, is to first have peace in your hearts and to be surrendered completely to God and to His will. Do not seek peace and joy in the things of this world, because this is all passing. Long for true mercy and peace which come only from God; and only in this way will your hearts be filled with true joy; and only in this way will you be able to become witnesses of peace in this peaceless world. I am your mother and intercede before my Son for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (December 25, 2016 Jakov) Our Lady used the word “peace” 9 times in this message! Could she make it any clearer? Peace is really important to her. Peace is really on her mind. Peace is more valuable than gold. And peace is more fragile than crystal. Peace makes life flourish. Peace makes for joy and hope. And God wants to give us peace. He is Peace. And He has sent Our Lady to help us receive His peace. Do we desire peace? I think we need to change our hearts, in that we change our desires. We may desire money or a good job, power or fame, security or the pleasures of life. But they all are worthless without peace. I wonder if we understand how much we need peace. It is something to pray over. Jesus spoke these words over Jerusalem just before his Crucifixion: And when he drew near and saw the city he wept over it, saying, “Would that even today you knew the things that make for peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies will cast up a bank about you and surround you, and hem you in on every side, and dash you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation.” (Luke 19:41-44) I wonder if we might not be in a similar time (i.e. a time of visitation). We are in an unprecedented “visitation” of Our Lady. And she has come to be our Queen of Peace. This may be a time of grace that should not be missed. If we only knew what makes for peace!! Our Lady is showing us those very things through her messages. But are we listening? Are we living? May we know the time of our visitation, and open our hearts to the call from God through Our Lady, the call for peace. “Today, on this day of grace, in a special way, I am calling you to pray for peace.” In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
