I am calling your to prayer…

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016 Youth Festival J.M.J. June 6, 2017 St. NorbertDear Family of Mary! “As in the other places where I have come to you, also here I am calling you to prayer. Pray for those who do not know my Son, for those who have not come to know the love of God, against sin, for the consecrated – for those whom my Son called to have love and the spirit of strength for you, for the Church…”  (June 2, 2017) Our Lady began this message by looking back in time. She made it clear that the Woman who appears in Medjugorje is the same Woman who appeared in Lourdes, Fatima, Knock and Rwanda, to name a few. She told us that her message has been and still is to pray! She is calling us to pray, pray, pray. As a Mother she wants us to be connected to the source of Life. She knows the dangers we are in. Our world is full of philosophies, ideologies, isms, and world views that sever us from the source of Life. Our sins also sever us from that Source. And so our souls are in constant danger of eternal death. Just as a mother would do anything to get sustenance to her child, she has come to give us eternal sustenance. She wants us to be nourished by the Lord, and that can only happen if we pray. And so she calls us to prayer, over and over again. And if we are praying, connected to the Vine, so that we are being nourished, she then asks us to pray for others that they too will find their way to the Source of Life. There are two main groups she asked us to pray for in this message: Those who do not know Jesus or God’s love, and those who have been given the task of guiding the Church, those consecrated in her service. Why these two groups? Well, those who do not yet know Jesus and His love are the most in danger of eternal death. Their souls are in danger of dying for lack of love. She wants them saved. And those who are consecrated to Jesus’ service have the gargantuan task of re-attaching souls to the Lord through their teaching, preaching, and the Sacraments. They also have to help us all stay strongly attached to Christ. What a job! Our Lady is thinking about all her children, all of them, with such great love and concern. Now is the time to gather them in. She needs us to pray constantly, to intercede with her for the sake of souls. Prayer is always where we begin when we are responding to Our Lady’s call. Let us pray as she asks, for the sake of our own conversion and for the conversion of all peoples. This is now the time, I believe, for the Mercy of God to come down in power upon the whole world, if we pray. In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2017
