Youth Festival, Day 6 – The Transfiguration

(c)Mary TV/Anthony Zubac   August 6, 2019The Feast of the Transfiguration Dear Family of Mary! Today the 30th Youth Festival in Medjugorje ends with Holy Mass on Mount Krizevac (Cross Mountain)! The Mass begins at 5:00 am – sun rise! It is a fitting end to the Youth Festival! After five days of prayer, teachings, testimonies, Liturgies, Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and singing and dancing as only young people can do, a Mass on a mountaintop expresses it all! Their hearts and souls have been lifted to God and they have climbed to meet Him on the mountain top! I feel so full of joy even though Denis and I could only join through the internet on Mary TV. The grace just flowed to us from Medjugorje. So much peace! So much joy! So much truth and light! It was a true celebration of God. Thank you, Medjugorje. Thank you, St. James Parish. Thank you, Archbishop Hoser and the Cardinals and Bishops who joined the young people there. Thank you, to the over 700 priests who ministered to the young people, through Holy Mass and especially through Confession! Thank you to the people of Medjugorje who housed and fed the over 50,000 young people who came from all over the world! And especially, thank you to you, Mother Mary, for creating such a beautiful oasis of peace in Medjugorje by your presence there. You are truly present. You have given evident signs of your presence for all to see!! All the sessions of the Youth Festival are available at www.marytv.tv  in a special archive window on the home page, directly under the Channel. The Youth Festival is worth watching again and again! And it is a great gift to share with others, especially young people. Thanks to our team for providing for these recordings and for streaming the live presentations so perfectly!! It was a labor of love! Today is also the day to begin a novena to Our Lady for her Assumption into Heaven!! Archbishop Fulton Sheen predicted that within 30 years of the proclamation of the Dogma of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, God would send the cure for the ills of this present age due to modernism, egoism, and materialism. That cure would be through Our Lady. And it happened! The Dogma was proclaimed in 1950. And in 1981, Our Lady descended to Medjugorje to appear to the visionaries and create her oasis of peace there! And look at the fruit!! The Youth Festival is an example of that cure! A huge example of the cure to all the ills of our age. Instead of modernism, she proclaims eternal truth! Instead of egoism, she teaches us love and self-gift. Instead of materialism, she imbues us with the simplicity of the spiritual life. I found a beautiful prayer written by Pope Pius X to Our Lady which we could pray for these nine days before the feast. I will include it in my reflections. Thank you to all of you who are responding to Our Lady’s call. She is the cure for all that afflicts us in these days. We are the most blessed of children! Prayer to Our Lady of the Assumptionby Pope St. Pius X O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God and Mother of humanity, we believe with all the fervor of our faith in your triumphal assumption both in body and in soul into heaven where you are acclaimed as queen by all the choirs of angels and all the legions of saints; we unite with them to praise and bless the Lord who has exalted you above all other pure creatures and to offer you the tribute of our devotion and our love. We know that your gaze, which on earth watched over the humble and suffering humanity of Jesus, in heaven is filled with the vision of that humanity glorified and with the vision of uncreated wisdom, and that the joy of your soul in the direct contemplation of the adorable Trinity causes your heart to throb with overwhelming tenderness; and we, poor sinners whose body weights down the flight of the soul, beg you to purify our hearts so that, while we remain below, we may learn to see God and God alone in the beauties of his creatures. We trust that your merciful eyes may deign to gaze down upon our miseries and anguish, upon our struggles and our weaknesses; that your countenance may smile upon our joys and our victories; that you may hear the voice of Jesus saying to you of each one of us, as He once said to you of his beloved disciple: “Behold your son,” and we who call upon you as our mother, we, like John, take you as the guide, strength and consolation of our mortal life.    We are inspired by the certainty that your eyes, which wept over the earth crimsoned by the blood of Jesus, are yet turned toward this world racked by wars and persecutions, the oppression of the just and the weak. From the shadows of this vale of tears, we seek in your heavenly assistance, tender mercy, comfort for our aching hearts, and help in the trials of Church and country. We believe finally that in the glory where you reign, clothed with the sun and crowned with stars, you are, after Jesus, the joy and gladness of all the angels and the saints, and from this earth, over which we tread as pilgrims, comforted by our faith in the future resurrection, we look to you our life, our sweetness, our hope; draw us onward with the sweetness of your voice, so that one day, after our exile, you may show us Jesus, the blessed fruit of your womb. O clement, O loving,O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen. In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!Cathy Nolan©Mary TV 2019
