March 20, 2020 Reflection – A Piece of Bread
(c)Mary TV 2020 March 20, 2020 Dear Family of Mary! March 15, 1984 “Tonight also, dear children, I am grateful to you in a special way for being here. Unceasingly adore the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I am always present when the faithful are adoring. Special graces are then being received.” Last night, at the outside altar of St. James Church in Medjugorje, there was Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament! It had been a long day, but the Parish persisted, and we had a full hour of adoring Jesus, in the dark! It was incredibly beautiful. I have transcribed the prayers to Jesus, spoken by the young priest who led us in adoring Jesus. They are simple and deep. You may want to pull up the adoration video and pray along again. We need Jesus, in the Living Bread. We need Him very much in these days. Here are the prayers, spoken in three parts during that hour: Adoration of the Blessed SacramentMarch 19, 2020Feast of St. Joseph, Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary 1.Oh Lord, in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar! We wish tonight to acknowledge you as our Lord and our God. Oh God, to give you praise. To see You, God, who is given to men, just to be with you tonight. Thank you Lord for this opportunity, that tonight we can adore youin the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Thank you that we can spend time in your vicinity. We would like, Lord, to learn from you tonight, how to be your disciples…Those who would follow you, to become just like you, Lord. To love and to do just like you did, and so to be better, to be changed! In this desire to be changed…very often we forget about you, Lord We want to change ourselves by ourselves, and we forget about you. But for change it is enough to be with you, to be adoring you.Because your nearness changes us. Your presence makes us better. You change us Lord, because you know better what we need. You know us better than we know ourselves. Thank You Lord, for this opportunity that we can be adoring you tonight, that we can acknowledge You as our Lord and our God. 2.Lord Jesus Christ, You said that you would always remain with us. That You would never abandon us.That You would never leave us orphaned. We see that tonight, because also tonight You are with us, Lord. You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.Tonight You give Yourself to us in a little piece of bread. So simple and yet so great. Yes, Lord, so simple, so little because true and genuine greatness is hidden in simplicity and humility. We see that tonight too. Lord, God of everything, who creates all, is given to us in the little piece of bread. What simplicity. You wanted to remain with us in such a simple way and yet such a big way, in the simplicity of bread. You did not want to remain present in some great thing, but in simple bread which You change with your presence. And so, this bread becomes Your Body. Bread becomes the Bread of Life. Teach us Lord, that tonight we may recognize You as the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. That we may recognize You in that piece of bread that You change with Your presence. May Your presence, Lord, change us tonight. You can make us better.Thank you, Lord, because You are always with us.And You give us the possibility to adore You. 3.Lord Jesus Christ,St. John the Evangelist, in his Gospel, brings us Your words. The word that You give us tonight, to each one of us, You said, “I am the living Bread that has come down from Heaven. If you eat of this Bread, you shall live forever.” Lord Jesus, You are the Bread of Life. You are the Bread of the Living Ones. Those who eat that Bread will have eternal life, Lord. Those who approach You with a sincere and humble heart shall have eternal life.Shall have eternal joy! Those who consume You, Lord, shall never die.Thank you Lord, because we can consume the Bread of Life.Because we can consume You. The Bread that You give us is the proof of immense love. The Immense Love that You have towards us.Teach us, Lord, that we may always be grateful to You for the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist,in which You give Yourself to us, through Your Word, Your Body. You give Yourself to us so that we can consume the Bread of Life. Teach us, Lord, that we may recognize You in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, in which You give Yourself to us tonight.Teach us, Lord, that we may always long for True Food, True Bread.Make us long for You, Lord, the life.Teach us, that we may always in You, seek for our nourishment, seek for our food. Teach us, that we may always be fed with You, Lord.May this Bread be the pledge for our eternal life, Lord.
