April 29, 2020 Reflection – Pray to the Holy Spirit!

(c)Mary TV 2020 April 29, 2020 St. Catherine of Siena, Virgin, Doctor of the Church Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! May this time be an incentive for personal conversion for you. Pray, little children, in solitude to the Holy Spirit to strengthen you in faith and trust in God, that you may be worthy witnesses of the love which God bestows upon you through my presence. Little children, do not permit trials to harden your heart and for prayer to be like a desert. Be a reflection of God’s love and witness the Risen Jesus by your lives. I am with you and I love all of you with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (April 25, 2020) “Pray, little children, in solitude to the Holy Spirit…” Let’s do exactly as Our Lady counsels us. Let’s find a spot where we are alone, in quiet, without distraction, and pray to the Holy Spirit. He is the Gift from the Father and the Son. He is the power of God, lavished upon us at Baptism and through all the Sacraments, bringing us into the Heart of the Trinity. We will do well to pray in solitude, slowly and with open hearts to our dear Holy Spirit! Here is a prayer to the Holy Spirit by St. Catherine of Siena whose feast day is today: Holy Spirit, come into my heart; draw it to Thee by Thy power, O my God, and grant me charity with filial fear. Preserve me, O ineffable Love, from every evil thought; warm me, inflame me with Thy dear love, and every pain will seem light to me. My Father, my sweet Lord, help me in all my actions. Jesus, love, Jesus, love. Amen. And now a litany that we can savor in our solitude!! Litany to the Holy Spirit Lord, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ hear us. Christ graciously hear us. God the Father of Heaven, Have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, Have mercy on us. God the Holy Spirit, Have mercy on us. Holy Trinity, One God, Have mercy on us. Divine Essence, one true God, Have mercy on us Spirit of truth and wisdom, Have mercy on us Spirit of holiness and justice, Have mercy on us Spirit of understanding and counsel, Have mercy on us Spirit of love and joy, Have mercy on us Spirit of peace and patience, Have mercy on us Spirit of longanimity and meekness, Have mercy on us Spirit of benignity and goodness, Have mercy on us Love substantial of the Father and the Son, Have mercy on us Love and life of saintly souls, Have mercy on us Fire ever burning, Have mercy on us Living water to quench the thirst of hearts, Have mercy on us From all evil, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From all impurity of soul and body, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From all gluttony and sensuality, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From all attachments to the things of the earth, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From all hypocrisy and pretense, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From all imperfections and deliberate faults, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From our own will, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From slander, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From deceiving our neighbors, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From our passions and disorderly appetites, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From our inattentiveness to Thy holy inspirations, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From despising little things, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From debauchery and malice, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From love of comfort and luxury, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From wishing to seek or desire anything other than Thee, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. From everything that displeases Thee, Deliver us, O Holy Spirit. Most loving Father, forgive us. Divine Word, have pity on us. Holy and divine Spirit, leave us not until we are in possession of the Divine Essence, Heaven of heavens. Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Send us the divine Consoler. Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Fill us with the gifts of Thy Spirit. Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world, Make the fruits of the Holy Spirit increase within us. V. Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful, R. And enkindle in them the fire of Thy love. V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created, R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth. Let Us Pray God, Who by the light of the Holy Spirit instructed the hearts of the faithful, grant us by the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord, Amen In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2020

April 28, 2020 Reflection – St. Louis de Montfort, pray for us!

(c)Mary TV 2020 April 28, 2020 St. Peter Chanel St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort Dear Family of Mary! Today is a special feast day, the memorial of St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort. St. Louis was born in 1673, and became a Dominican priest who loved the poor, lived humbly and had a great devotion to Our Lady. He wrote “True Devotion to Mary” in which he shared his understanding of Our Lady’s role in the latter days, but it was not published before his death. It was found many years later, in 1842 and after much study, was published in 1853. He understood in a prophetic way the role that Our Lady would play in the last days. He was certain she was indispensable to the return of Jesus Christ. He wrote “True Devotion to Mary” to explain Mary’s role in the coming of Christ. One of the things that he said was that Mary would become present to souls, who would become united to her in love. These souls would glorify God in the last days. Here is an excerpt from “True Devotion to Mary” in which he describes those souls who loved Mary: Communication of the spirit of Mary 217. The soul of Mary will be communicated to you to glorify the Lord. Her spirit will take the place of yours to rejoice in God, her Savior, but only if you are faithful to the practices of this devotion. As St. Ambrose says, “May the soul of Mary be in each one of us to glorify the Lord! May the spirit of Mary be in each one of us to rejoice in God!” “When will that happy day come,” asks a saintly man of our own day whose life was completely wrapped up in Mary, “when God’s Mother is enthroned in men’s hearts as Queen, subjecting them to the dominion of her great and princely Son? When will souls breathe Mary as the body breathes air?” When that time comes wonderful things will happen on earth. The Holy Spirit, finding his dear Spouse present again in souls, will come down into them with great power. He will fill them with his gifts, especially wisdom, by which they will produce wonders of grace. My dear friend, when will that happy time come, that age of Mary, when many souls, chosen by Mary and given her by the most High God, will hide themselves completely in the depths of her soul, becoming living copies of her, loving and glorifying Jesus? That day will dawn only when the devotion I teach is understood and put into practice. Ut adveniat regnum tuum, adveniat regnum Mariae: “Lord, that your kingdom may come, may the reign of Mary come!” (N 217 – True Devotion to Mary. St. Louis de Montfort) “When will that happy day come???” I believe that that day has come, in Medjugorje! Our Lady has come to fill us with her soul and spirit, by teaching us how to love her Son and receive the Holy Spirit. In fact, we are being “wrapped up in Mary” just like that saintly man St. Louis described. (I think he was referring to himself!) September 25, 2019 “Dear children! Today I am calling you to pray for my intentions so that I may help you. Little children, pray the Rosary and meditate the mysteries of the Rosary because, in your life, you are also passing through joys and sorrows. In this way, you are transforming the mysteries into your life, because life is a mystery until you place it into God’s hands. In this way, you will have the experience of faith like Peter who met Jesus and the Holy Spirit filled his heart. Little children, you are also called to witness by living the love with which, day by day, God wraps you with my presence. Therefore, little children, be open and pray with the heart in faith. Thank you for having responded to my call.” You see, she tells us what God is doing today: “Little children, you are also called to witness by living the love with which, day by day, God wraps you with my presence.” We are being “wrapped up in Mary”, just as St. Louis described. We are those souls who breathe Mary just as the body breaths air!! This is the age of Mary!! She has come down to us and she has chosen us to be living copies of herself. When St. Louis wrote these words, no one could have imagined Our Lady would actually come to be present in a little village in a remote part of Hercegovina. St. Louis would not have been able to predict such an event. But the fruit is evident now. Many, many souls have encountered Our Lady in Medjugorje, and are now living according to her school, bringing her love and truth to a world so much in need of it. Thank you Sr. Louis de Montfort, for boldly writing these prophetic words, and trusting that even though you would never see them published and spread throughout the Church in your lifetime, they would one day be discovered and published when the time was right. Please pray for us, that in our day we can be faithful to Our Mother and Queen, as you were, and live her messages with trust so that one day in the future, we will bear fruit for the salvation of the world. In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2020
