August 12, 2021 Reflection – Novena for the Assumption
I, your mother, am waiting for you there [in Heaven] because I am there. August 12, 2021 St. Jane Frances de Chantal Dear Family of Mary! Our Mother has been sent to us in these days, to bring us all back to God. She has one goal, Eternal Life in Heaven for each of her children…that is for all peoples of the earth. She has called us Apostles of her love, because she is sending us out to give her love to all those who need her so much. Many of us have gone to Medjugorje on pilgrimage and returned home with our baggage stuffed with Miraculous Medals, Rosaries, St. Benedict Medals, Crucifixes, Bibles, Holy Cards, prayer books, and all manner of holy stuff. Why? In order to share them with all our family members, neighbors, parish communities, and all those we meet each day. This is apostolic work, It is spreading the good news of the love of Jesus and Mary! It gives the Holy Spirit a way to touch so many others. Our Lady needs us as her Apostles in order to bring as many of her children to Heaven, where she waits for us. Her Assumption, glorious as it is, took her up into Heaven, away from those she loves so much. Though she visits us in Medjugorje, she needs us to help her reach her children all over the world and lead them back to Jesus and faith. Listen to her words: September 2, 2015: “Dear children, My dear apostles of love, my carriers of truth, again I am calling you and gathering you around me to help me, to help all of my children who thirst for love and truth – who thirst for my Son. I am a grace from the Heavenly Father, sent to help you to live the word of my Son. Love one another. I lived your earthly life. I know that it is not always easy, but if you will love each other, you will pray with the heart, you will reach spiritual heights and the way to heaven will be opened for you. I, your mother, am waiting for you there because I am there. Be faithful to my Son and teach others faithfulness. I am with you. I will help you. I will teach you faith that you may know how to transmit it to others in the right way. I will teach you truth that you may know how to discern. I will teach you love that you may come to know what real love is… My children, my Son will make it so as to speak through your words and your actions. Thank you.” Mother, we long to join you in Heaven. We thank you for coming to Medjugorje to be with us, and we want to join you in Heaven as soon as we can. And we want to bring as many of your children with us as possible! Let us pray: The Assumption Novena Mary, Queen Assumed into Heaven, I rejoice that after years of heroic martyrdom on earth, you have at last been taken to the throne prepared for you in heaven by the Holy Trinity. Lift my heart with you in the glory of your Assumption above the dreadful touch of sin and impurity. Teach me how small earth becomes when viewed from heaven. Make me realize that death is the triumphant gate through which I shall pass to your Son, and that someday my body shall rejoin my soul in the unending bliss of heaven. From this earth, over which I tread as a pilgrim, I look to you for help. I ask for this favor: (Mention your request). When my hour of death has come, lead me safely to the presence of Jesus to enjoy the vision of my God for all eternity together with you.
