October 5, 2021 Reflection – St. Faustina Kowalska, pray for us!
Silence is so powerful a language that it reaches the throne of the living God. St. Faustina Kowalska, pray for us October 5, 2021 St. Faustina Kowalska Dear Family of Mary! Today is the Feast Day of St. Faustina Kowalska!! As you know, the Divine Mercy Devotion that Jesus gave to St. Faustina is a daily part of our prayer at Mary TV. We go live from Medjugorje every day at 3:00 pm Medjugorje time, to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy together. Of course Our Lady is with us also! It is very powerful! And directly after our prayer together we go, live, to the Adoration Chapel in Medjugorje for a time of silent adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament! It is such a joy to pray together in this way on Mary TV with all of you shipmates from around the world! On St. Faustina’s Feast Day today, I would like to share a beautiful entry from her Diary which talks about the beauty of prayer in silence. St. Faustina spent many hours in silent Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Let her words encourage and bless you: 887. January 19, 1937. My life at present flows on in peaceful awareness of God. My silent soul lives on Him, and this conscious life of God in my soul is for me a source of happiness and strength. I do not look for happiness outside the depths of my soul in which God dwells; of this I am aware. I feel a certain need to share myself with others. I have discovered a fountain of happiness in my soul, and it is God. O my God, I see that everything that surrounds me is filled with God, and most of all my own soul, which is adorned with the grace of God. Already now, I will begin to live on that on which I shall live for all eternity. 888. Silence is so powerful a language that it reaches the throne of the living God. Silence is His language, though secret, yet living and powerful. (Saint Faustina’s Diary, 887-888) I think it is very important to practice silence, in order to made room for God to speak to us and bless us in prayer. Silence takes practice!! We are very chatty people and we need to work at silence. Here are five messages in which Our Lady encourages us to silence! Maybe they can be our meditations for the Rosary today. We can only imagine how silent Our Lady’s interior life was! She was so available to God, to ready to listen, so filled with trust and humility! She was full of silent expectancy! May she help us to cultivate a silent soul like hers! July 25, 2006“Dear children! At this time, do not only think of rest for your body but, little children, seek time also for the soul. In silence may the Holy Spirit speak to you and permit Him to convert and change you. I am with you and before God I intercede for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” May 25, 2007“Dear children! Pray with me to the Holy Spirit for Him to lead you in the search of God’s will on the way of your holiness. And you, who are far from prayer, convert and, in the silence of your heart, seek salvation for your soul and nurture it with prayer. I bless you all individually with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 25, 2011“Dear children! May this time be for you a time of prayer and silence. Rest your body and spirit, may they be in God’s love… Permit me, little children, to lead you, open your hearts to the Holy Spirit so that all the good that is in you may blossom and bear fruit one hundred fold. Begin and end the day with prayer with the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 25, 2016“Dear children! I am looking at you and I see you lost; and you do not have prayer or joy in your heart. Return to prayer, little children, and put God in the first place and not man. Do not lose the hope which I am carrying to you. May this time, little children, every day, be a greater seeking of God in the silence of your heart; and pray, pray, pray until prayer becomes joy for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” May 25, 2018 “Dear children! In this peaceless time, I am calling you to have more trust in God who is your Father in Heaven and who has sent me to lead you to Him. You, open your hearts to the gifts which He desires to give you and, in the silence of your heart, Adore my Son Jesus who has given His life so that you may live in eternity – where He desires to lead you. May your hope be the joy of a meeting with the Most High in everyday life. Therefore, I am calling you: do not neglect prayer because prayer works miracles. Thank you for having responded to my call.” St. Faustina, please pray for us to grow in interior silence, so we can commune with Jesus! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan Mary TV 2021
