Choose life!   February 23, 2023 Dear Family of Mary! Deuteronomy: 30:15-20 Moses said to the people: “Today I have set before you life and prosperity, death and doom. If you obey the commandments of the Lord, your God, which I enjoin on you today, loving him, and walking in his ways, and keeping his commandments, statutes and decrees, you will live and grow numerous, and the Lord, your God, will bless you in the land you are entering to occupy. If, however, you turn away your hearts and will not listen, but are led astray and adore and serve other gods, I tell you now that you will certainly perish; you will not have a long life on the land that you are ­crossing the Jordan to enter and occupy. I call heaven and earth today to witness against you: I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live, by loving the Lord, your God, heeding his voice, and holding fast to him. For that will mean life for you, a long life for you to live on the land that the Lord swore he would give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” (the first reading at Mass today) God always gives us a choice. He created us with free will. It is what makes us able to commune with Him, because we have souls, and minds, and wills that are free. Love can operate in such a being. And God made us to love Him and receive His love. But Adam and Eve fell, and chose to not trust God but rather go another way. And hence, we all face the consequences. We so often choose wrongly. But God does not give up on us! Jesus came to us to show us the truth and guide us back to the Father. And now Mary is here with us to help us to find and follow Jesus! Heaven will not be outdone in mercy! Our Lady said to us: March 18, 2003 (Mirjana) “Dear children! Particularly at this holy time of penance and prayer, I call you to make a choice. God gave you free will to choose life or death. Listen to my messages with the heart that you may become cognizant of what you are to do and how you will find the way to life. My children, without God you can do nothing; do not forget this even for a single moment. For, what are you and what will you be on earth, when you will return to it again. Behold, now is a very acceptable time…   February 22, 2023 Dear Family of Mary! “Brothers and sisters: We are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him. Working together, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says: In an acceptable time I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2Cor. 5:20-6:2) This is Ash Wednesday, 2023! We have arrived at a very important time of grace that the Church offers to us. We can take these weeks ahead as an opportunity to put aside our worldly desires and focus on God’s desires for us! What a lovely opportunity!! Our Lady told us: February 25, 2007 “Dear children! Open your heart to God’s mercy in this Lenten time. The heavenly Father desires to deliver each of you from the slavery of sin. Therefore, little children, make good use of this time and through meeting with God in confession, leave sin and decide for holiness. Do this out of love for Jesus, who redeemed you all with his blood, that you may be happy and in peace. Do not forget, little children: your freedom is your weakness, therefore follow my messages with seriousness. Thank you for having responded to my call.” What a loving God we have. He takes us so seriously! He wants us to have a good long time to be healed of our sins and washed clean of all our failures and faults. He loves us.
