Dear Family of Mary!
“…Apostles of my love, the world is in such need of your arms raised towards Heaven, towards my Son, towards the Heavenly Father. Much humility and purity of heart are needed. Have trust in my Son and know that you can always be better. My motherly heart desires for you, apostles of my love, to be little lights of the world, to illuminate there where darkness wants to begin to reign, to show the true way by your prayer and love, to save souls. I am with you. Thank you.” (June 2, 2017)
The Gospel for June 13, 2017:
Jesus said to his disciples:
“You are the salt of the earth.
But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is no longer good for anything
but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
You are the light of the world.
A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden.
Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket;
it is set on a lampstand,
where it gives light to all in the house.
Just so, your light must shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds
and glorify your heavenly Father.” (Mt 5: 13-16)
Our Lady calls us to raise our arms towards Heaven, towards her Son, towards the Heavenly Father. She wants us to be signs of great worship and love for God. Our lives must become signs of the way to God.
She tells us our hearts will need to be humble and pure. Salt must be pure if it is going to be good for seasoning. If it is not pure, it will ruin the food and be thrown out. If our hearts are not pure, they will ruin all our works, and the works will be disregarded and rejected. We cannot do works for self-interest or pride. Those works will “taste” wrong and be rejected. They will not lead others to God
Our Lady also calls us to be little lights in the world, lights that show the way to God and save souls. A light must be put on a lamp stand, or it will not be noticed. It will not show the way. If we do not publicly live for Christ, giving ourselves away for the sake of souls, our lights will be hidden, ungiven. They will not do any good to the souls who need to be shown the way to God. We cannot hide our love for Jesus, for the Father and the Holy Spirit. If we hide our love for them, then we will be hiding our light, putting it under a bushel basket.
Others must see our good works and give glory to our heavenly Father. That will only happen if we make it clear that our love, our service, our honesty and purity are because of the God we serve, the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit! We can be “little lights of the world, to illuminate there where darkness wants to begin to reign, to show the true way by [our] prayer and love, to save souls.”
Our Lady is with us to help us be pure and full of light. She needs us to carry these gifts out into the world that is in such danger of being lost. Thank you, dearest Mother, for being with us and for leading us into the battle for souls with such wisdom and hope. We say, “Amen!”
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
