A Rosary of Gratitude
November 17, 2022
Dear Family of Mary!
I want to follow up on the idea of gratitude as an antidote to all the negativity that wants to wash over us in these days. So I did a search for a litany of gratitude. But what I found instead was a Rosary of Gratitude! I had never heard of this prayer. But as I read the description of it, I was so excited. Here is what is suggested for the Gratitude Rosary:
How to Pray the Gratitude Rosary
The Rosary of Gratitude is simple to memorize and pray.
The opening prayers are the same as the original Rosary: the Apostles’ Creed, an Our Father, three Hail Marys, and a Glory Be.
On the bead that introduces each new decade, pray an Our Father.
On the 10 beads of the decades, tell God something you are grateful for. This could be as simple as your health, or as detailed as a memory you have from when you were growing up. (Trying to come up with 50 things you are grateful for might seem intimidating. Once you start though, it is easy to keep thinking of blessings in your life. If you ever get stuck, take a look around at the environment you are in and try to find inspiration there. You can also just say the traditional Rosary and add something you are grateful for at the end of each Hail Mary!)
To close the Rosary of Gratitude, you can pray the Hail Holy Queen like a regular Rosary. Or, you can come up with something personal to conclude with. (https://everydayprayerco.com/)
I truly believe that practicing gratitude daily will be a great boost to our mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. It will draw us close to our loving Father in Heaven and give us the peace and strength to share our faith with others.
Our Lady told us:
September 25, 2012
“Dear children!
When in nature
you look at the richness of the colors
which the Most High gives to you,
open your heart
and pray with gratitude
for all the good that you have
and say:
‘I am here created for eternity’ –
and yearn for heavenly things
because God loves you
with immeasurable love.
This is why He also gave me to you to tell you:
‘Only in God is your peace and hope, dear children’.
Thank you for having responded to my call.”
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
