Tomorrow we begin a Novena for the 42nd Anniversary
June 14, 2023
Dear Family of Mary!
Our Lady suggests that we pray novenas! She longs for us to be intentional about our prayer, approaching God with sincere hearts, asking for graces and blessings. Here is one message in which she suggested that we pray novenas:
July 25, 2005
“Dear children!
Also today, I call you to fill your day
with short and ardent prayers.
When you pray, your heart is open
and God loves you with a special love
and gives you special graces.
Therefore, make good use of this time of grace
and devote it to God more than ever up to now.
Do novenas of fasting and renunciation
so that satan be far from you
and grace be around you.
I am near you
and intercede before God for each of you.
Thank you for having responded to my call.”
It seems that novenas can help us to prepare for more graces. Through fasting, renunciation, and prayer we can create a zone of peace and purity in our lives. Through these practices of penance and prayer, we can prepare for the graces God wants to pour out upon us.
On June 25, 2023 we will celebrate 42 years of Our Lady’s presence in Medjugorje in this special way, through her apparitions. The parish has organized a novena of prayer and penance before the Anniversary. Starting on June 15, the priests will lead the parish in a climb up Apparition Hill. During the climb, the Rosary will be prayed. This Novena will be a good way to prepare for the graces of the 42nd Anniversary!
Mary TV will stream the daily climb up Apparition Hill, live, weather permitting. But our schedule will have to be changed to accommodate it. Here is the Schedule for the live shows on Mary TV during the Novena before the Anniversary:
June 15 to June 23:
3:00 pm – Daily Rosary live with Denis and Cathy (which includes Divine Mercy)
4:00 pm – Novena Climb with the Parish
5:00 pm – prerecorded shows
6:00 pm – Parish Evening Rosary
7:00 pm – International Mass
8:00 pm – Adoration, or the Rosary, or Veneration of the Holy Cross, depending on the day.
Join us for this wonderful time of prayer!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
