Day 4 of the Youth Festival in Medjugorje
Dear Family of Mary!
Day 3 of the Youth Festival was just beautiful!The testimonies were very moving. And the prayer and singing was filled with joy! In the evening there was a candlelight prayer in which all the participants received a candle and then one by one the candles were lit! It is always moving to see the people in darkness come into the light as the flames are shared, one by one throughout the crowd.
Everything that happens has such profound meaning!I encourage all of you that if you could not watch the events for Day 3 you will watch them in the days ahead on Mary TV!
We have an archive just for the youth festival right underneath the Live Channel!The pastor of the parish, Fr. Zvonimir Pavičić, is the MC for the festival, and he is doing such a beautiful job.
He always starts the day with a message from Our Lady!!Here is the message he shared on the first day, I believe:
November 13, 1986 “Dear children! Today again I am calling you to pray with your whole heart and day by day to change your life. Especially, dear children, I am calling that by your prayers and sacrifices you begin to live in holiness, because I desire that each one of you who has been to this fountain of grace will come to Paradise with the special gift which you shall give me, and that is holiness. Therefore, dear children, pray and daily change your life in order to become fully holy. I shall always be close to you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
The call to holiness is central to Our Lady’s plan for us. With holiness we can overcome all difficulties and find our way into peace. Sin interrupts everything and creates havoc. Peace comes hand in hand with holiness. But holiness is a daily project, actually minute by minute, since we must constantly choose it. If we do not choose it, we will lose our way very quickly in our terribly dangerous world.
And so Our Lady says to us: “Therefore, dear children, pray and daily change your life in order to become fully holy. “ She knows the process. It is day by day!! But with Our Lady by our side, we can do it!!
God bless us all! With a Mother like Our Lady, we have great hope of attaining holiness! One day at a time!
