Cling more and more to the practice of the Rosary!

October 5, 2026
St. Faustina Kowalska

Dear Family of Mary!

We find ourselves in the month of October! And this month is designated the “Month of the Rosary”! Here is a short explanation of this designation I found on Covenant Catholic…

“The Battle of Lepanto (1571) was fought between a large, highly skilled Muslim fleet of the Ottoman Empire and a smaller, minimally skilled Christian fleet known as the Holy League. The pope at the time, St. Pius V recognized the danger to Christendom presented by an advancing Muslim force, and he urged a fervent campaign of Rosary prayers for the battle that would ensue on October 7th. Against all odds and despite a grueling conflict, the Christian fleet was overwhelmingly victorious. The pope and all of Christendom knew it was due to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary through the prayers of the Rosary. In thanksgiving, Pope Pius V established the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (also called Our Lady of Victory) on October 7th to commemorate this triumph for the Faith under Mary’s patronage.

Devotion to the Rosary continued to wax and wane through the years, sometimes falling into obscurity through laxity and the subversive forces of darkness. In the late 19th century Pope Leo XIII revived the devotion in response to the encroaching evils both in society and the Church. An avid devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary, he thoroughly immersed himself in the writings of St. Louis de Monfort. Pope Leo believed praying the Rosary and meditating on its mysteries would be a powerful weapon against Satan’s destructive forces and also a means of growing stronger in our Faith. He ceaselessly promoted Our Lady’s Psalter through numerous encyclicals, letters, and addresses.

In his encyclical Supremi Apostolatus Officio, in honor of the Feast Day already present in October, he dedicated the entire month to the Rosary, urging all the Faithful to “cling more and more to the practice of the Rosary, . . . not only as an ever-ready remedy for their misfortunes but as a whole badge of Christian piety” (No. 8).” (October Monthly Devotion: The Holy Rosary)

We have the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary this Wednesday! And we have all of October in which to dedicate our time to the Rosary! This is a powerful moment for the Church. We are surrounded by enemies, and the devil has never been more active. Let’s really double down on our prayer of the Rosary starting today!! This is our moment to help Our Lady. Her last message conveys the very same urgency that Pope Pius V and Pope Leo XII demonstrated!:

The September 25, 2026 Message from Our Lady, Queen of Peace.

“Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer for peace. I am calling you to renew in your families the prayer of the Rosary for my intentions, so that I may be able to multiply your prayers and intercede for you before the Most High, [for Him] to heed your prayers and to give you peace. I am with you and like never before I pray for you and with you, my little children. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Let us pray the Rosary!! Let us respond to Our Lady’s call!!!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

What happens to my petition?

The Information Center collects your petitions and makes sure they are given to either Vicka or Ivan to be presented to Our Lady during one of their daily apparitions.

Although hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of petitions are offered to Our Lady at one time, Our Lady knows the content of each petition. Our Lady tells us that she will pray with us and intercede for us before her Son Jesus for our intentions.

After every apparition, the petitions are burned.
