October 28, 2026 Reflection – Make me a channel of Your peace

Make me a channel of your peace!

Dear Family of Mary!
October 25, 2026 Message from Our Lady of Medjugorje
“Dear children! A fire of hatred and wars is spreading in the hearts of people who do not want peace but their own weak interests. That is why, little children, you be prayer and my extended hands of love and peace for all those who are far from my motherly heart. Pray more strongly and more for the peace that God desires to give you but you do not want it. I am with you and I am praying that peace may prevail and reign in every heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (With Ecclesiastical approval)
I think that Our Lady captured the ambiguity in our hearts in this message. She recognizes that we want the good, but we don’t want it at the same time. She said to us:
Pray more strongly and more for the peace that God desires to give you but you do not want it.
This confusing sentence portrays the ambiguous desires in our hearts. We want to pray for peace, but then we do not want it. We lose our focus, and wander from the good so quickly. Like poor sheep who lose their way.
This song written by Sebastian Temple way back in 1967 is based on the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. I am sure you all know it. Sing it today. Pray over it today. Let the words find a home in your hearts. We need to desire peace which is desiring God really!!
Make me a channel of Your peace (Prayer of St. Francis)
Make me a channel of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me bring Your love,
Where there is injury, Your pardon Lord,
And where there’s doubt, true faith in You.
Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled, as to console.
To be understood, as to understand,
To be loved, as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of Your peace.
Where there’s despair in life let me bring hope,
Where there is darkness, only light.
And where there’s sadness, ever joy.
Oh, Master, grant that I may never seek,
So much to be consoled, as to console.
To be understood, as to understand,
To be loved, as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of Your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving to all men that we receive,
And in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

And so let us say back to Our Lady:
We will pray more strongly and more for the peace that God desires to give us and which we want with all our hearts!!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
