33 Day Consecration – Day 25
33 Day Consecration – Day 25
Dear Family of Mary!
33 Day Prayer of Consecration to Our Lady of the Rosary – Day 25
In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit!
Receive our Consecration Prayer, O dearest Mother Mary!
Today we continue with Fr. Shaman’s discussion of why the Rosary promotes good thinking:
The Rosary is good thinking. It drives home four great truths of religion. (today reason #4)
4. All 15 Mysteries of the Rosary teach the fourth great truth of religion; namely, sanctity is for all and it is within the reach of all of us. [At the time this book was published St. John Paul II had not introduced the Luminous Mysteries]
All 15 mysteries teach that great sanctity can be achieved by ordinary people doing ordinary things, every day, out of love for God, just as Mary and Joseph did.
In the eyes of the world, Joseph and Mary were just ordinary people. When Jesus awed his fellow townsmen by his eloquence, they asked, “Isn’t this the son of Joseph?” – an ordinary carpenter! (Lk. 4:22) When Jesus claimed to be bread from Heaven, they again protested on the grounds that He came from Ordinary fold. “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother/” (Jn 6:42) – just ordinary people! God doesn’t ask us to be anything other than ordinary people – but good people whose one focus is Christ.
The Rosary gets us thinking about such truths – and thinking leads to action. Our Lady knows that you cannot be thinking day in and day out on the mysteries of Our Lord’s life and not be changed, for the thoughts that enfold you are the thoughts the mold you. Our Lady knows that. Hence her ardent requests for our saying the Rosary.
Our Lady does not ask for Revolution (which is only a change of structures); for changing structures changes nothing. Overthrowing the monarchy of France did not better the nation. Overthrowing the Romanov dynasty and the Kerensky government for Communism did not help Russia. Toppling the regime of Batista for Castro did not save Cuba. That Our Lady seeks – and the Church and the Gospel- is Renewal, which is a change of hearts. That is why she asks for the Rosary, for the Rosary renews hearts, changes people; and when people change, society will change.
(Rev. Albert J. M. Shamon. The Power of the Rosary. 1990 p. 11- 12)
Well, we can see that Our Lady is indeed using the Rosary in Medjugorje to do exactly this: to bring about a renewal of hearts, one person at a time, until there is a change in the world. Her message given on September 25, confirms what Fr. Shamon has said about the power of the mysteries of the Rosary:
“Dear children! Today I am calling you to pray for my intentions so that I may help you.
Little children, pray the Rosary and meditate the mysteries of the Rosary because, in your life, you are also passing through joys and sorrows. In this way, you are transforming the mysteries into your life, because life is a mystery until you place it into God’s hands.
In this way, you will have the experience of faith like Peter who met Jesus and the Holy Spirit filled his heart. Little children, you are also called to witness by living the love with which, day by day, God wraps you with my presence.
Therefore, little children, be open and pray with the heart in faith. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (September 25, 2019)
Wow! I can’t believe she said these beautiful things to us about the Rosary, during our 33 Day Consecration to her as Our Lady of the Rosary! Doesn’t it give you goose bumps!!! She is truly with us, praying with us, thinking with us, and teaching us so clearly! Thank you, dearest Mother, for being our Mother!!
Supplication to the Queen of the Holy Rosary:
“O Blessed Rosary of Mary, sweet chain which unites us to God, bond of love which unites us to the angels, tower of salvation against the assaults of Hell, safe port in our universal shipwreck, we will never abandon you. You will be our comfort in the hour of death: yours our final kiss as life ebbs away. And the last word from our lips will be your sweet name, O Queen of the Rosary of Pompei, O dearest Mother, O Refuge of Sinners, O Sovereign Consoler of the Afflicted. May you be everywhere blessed, today and always, on earth and in heaven”. (Blessed Bartolo Longo)
We commit ourselves to praying the Rosary for your intentions, dearest Mary, our Mother, as You enter this final battle with Satan, for the sake of souls. We will take up the Rosary as an obligation that we will fulfill with great joy! Together we will pray for Your Triumph over Satan, and for the coming of a New Time of Peace which has been given to us through You, Oh Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary!! Amen
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit! As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
Now we pray our Rosary for today! Joyful Mysteries!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
