Dear Family of Mary!

August 22, 1985

“Dear children! Today I wish to tell you that God wants to send you trials which you can overcome by prayer. God is testing you through daily chores. Now pray to peacefully withstand every trial. From everything through which God tests you come out more open to God and approach Him with love. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

I pulled this message from my box of messages for us today. Our Lady must want to talk to us about trials. We all are enduring trials in these days. It is part of our Christian life. Because we love and live out our commitment to love our families, communities, neighbors and countries, we make ourselves open to trials. But in this way we can help Jesus to show others that He loves them. Our Lady doesn’t seem to be worried about trials. “Now pray to peacefully withstand every trail.” She tells us we will come out stronger from them. Not to worry! God is in charge!

Here are five more messages in which Our Lady talks to us about trials. We could use these messages for our Rosary today, and let her teach us how to triumph over our difficulties through prayer and love.

Holy Thursday, April 19, 1984

To Jelena:
“I’m going to reveal a spiritual secret to you: if you want to be stronger than evil, make yourself a plan of personal prayer. Take a certain time in the morning, read a text from Holy Scripture, anchor the Divine word in your heart, and strive to live it during the day, particularly during the moment of trials. In this way, you will be stronger than evil.”

“Dear children! Also today I desire to call you all to be strong in prayer and in the moments when trials attack you. Live your Christian vocation in joy and humility and witness to everyone. I am with you and I carry you all before my Son Jesus, and He will be your strength and support. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

“Dear children; Again I call you to faith. My motherly heart desires for your heart to be open, so that it could say to your heart: believe. My children, only faith will give you strength in life’s trials. It will renew your soul and open the way of hope. I am with you. I gather you around me because I desire to help you, so that you can help your neighbors to discover faith, which is the only joy and happiness of life. Thank you.”

“Dear children; I am beside you because I desire to help you to overcome trials, which this time of purification puts before you. My children, one of those is not to forgive, and not to ask for forgiveness. Every sin offends love and distances you from it and love is my Son. Therefore, my children, if you desire to walk with me towards the peace of God’s love, you must learn to forgive and to ask for forgiveness. Thank you.”

“Dear children; Today I call you to be born anew in prayer and through the Holy Spirit, to become a new people with my Son; a people who knows that if they have lost God, they have lost themselves; a people who knows that, with God, despite all sufferings and trials, they are secure and saved. I call you to gather into God’s family and to be strengthened with the Father’s strength. As individuals, my children, you cannot stop the evil that wants to begin to rule in this world and to destroy it. But, according to God’s will, all together, with my Son, you can change everything and heal the world. I call you to pray with all your heart for your shepherds, because my Son chose them. Thank you.”

Mother, thank you for showing us that “despite all sufferings and trials, [we] are secure and saved.” Thank you for teaching us how to live in God and His peace.
