September 2, 2021 Reflection – Witness with your lives Heaven…

Dear Family of Mary!

It is important that we give time to this beautiful message from Our Lady. I present it again for us to prayerfully read together…

“Dear children! With joy I am calling all of you, little children, who have responded to my call: be joy and peace. Witness with your lives Heaven, which I am bringing to you. It is time, little children, that you be a reflection of my love for all those who do not love and whose hearts hatred has conquered. Do not forget: I am with you and intercede for all of you before my Son Jesus, that He may give you His peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (August 25, 2021)

Our Lady uses the word “witness” in this message. She asks us to “Witness with your lives Heaven…” “Witness” here is a verb. We actively do it. We “witness”. But what does that mean? Well here is a simple definition of witness as a verb (with synonyms):

Verb: certify, attest, witness, vouch mean to testify to the truth or genuineness of something.

To witness Heaven means to “testify to the truth and genuineness of Heaven.” We “certify” that there is Heaven. We “vouch” for it’s reality. We “attest” to its existence. We stand up and commit ourselves to living a life that includes Heaven as it’s goal. We stand for the truth of Heaven. And we live according to our deep desire to one day be in Heaven forever.

Do we believe in Heaven, and live as if Heaven is real? Do we live in such a way that it makes clear to others that Heaven is real for us, a destination that we expect to attain? And even more clearly, do we attest to Heaven as real, and that Our Lady of Medjugorje is bringing that Heaven to us in Medjugorje? Is Heaven tangibly present to us through Our Lady? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves.

And one last thought. The word “martyr” means “witness”. Martyrs are those who stay openly committed to their faith in the face of punishment and even death. A martyr cannot deny that God exists, or that Jesus is God, or that Heaven is the Kingdom of God, and therefore they do not stop witnessing to these realities in the face of persecution and suffering.

We may one day be faced with such a choice. But for now we must practice our witness of Heaven through our joy, confidence in God, trust in God’s plan, and loyalty to Our Lady, who is with us to give us Heaven on earth. How can we not witness to the great love of God for us, shown by sending His Mother to help us in this difficult time.

“Witness with your lives Heaven, which I am bringing to you.” Yes, Mother, we will witness with our lives Heaven, we will live in such a way that we demonstrate that Heaven is real and that you are bringing Heaven to us in these days, a gift of joy and hope that will bring us to our destination, Life with God forever. This witness may help many others to find you too! We pray for this grace!
