August 9, 2021 Reflection – Novena before the Assumption

Dear Family of Mary!

This week I would like to focus on the Assumption of Our Lady into Heaven. It is a very significant event! Our Lady went body and soul into heaven!!! This dogma was only proclaimed in 1950. But it is such good news for all of us. In an age where we disrespect our bodies in so many ways, the beauty of Our Lady’s pure and spotless body and soul stand in contradiction to the sad state of things for most human beings. She is our hope.

I will present a message and a novena prayer for each day this week. The Feast Day is this coming Sunday, August 15.

Our Lady said to us:

February 2, 2016
“Dear children, I have called you and am calling you anew to come to know my Son, to come to know the truth. I am with you and am praying for you to succeed.

My children, you must pray much in order to have all the more love and patience; to know how to endure sacrifice and to be poor in spirit.

Through the Holy Spirit, my Son is always with you… His Church is born in every heart that comes to know Him. Pray that you can come to know my Son; pray that your soul may be one with Him. That is the prayer and the love which draws others and makes you my apostles.

I am looking at you with love, with a motherly love. I know you; I know your pain and sorrows, because I also suffered in silence. My faith gave me love and hope.

I repeat, the Resurrection of my Son and my Assumption into Heaven is hope and love for you.

Therefore, my children, pray to come to know the truth; to have firm faith which will lead your heart and which will transform your pain and sufferings into love and hope. Thank you.” (02/02/2016)

We are Our Lady’s hope. She needs us to realize the truth of Jesus’ Resurrection and her Assumption into heaven. These two events are our stability and roadmap for the future. Now more than ever we need them!

The Assumption Novena

Mary, Queen Assumed into Heaven, I rejoice that after years of heroic martyrdom on earth, you have at last been taken to the throne prepared for you in heaven by the Holy Trinity.

Lift my heart with you in the glory of your Assumption above the dreadful touch of sin and impurity. Teach me how small earth becomes when viewed from heaven. Make me realize that death is the triumphant gate through which I shall pass to your Son, and that someday my body shall rejoin my soul in the unending bliss of heaven.

From this earth, over which I tread as a pilgrim, I look to you for help. I ask for this favor: (Mention your request).

When my hour of death has come, lead me safely to the presence of Jesus to enjoy the vision of my God for all eternity together with you. Amen

Pray the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary and be filled with joy!
