January 25, 2022 Reflection – Stone #4 – Confession

Confession January 25, 2022 The Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle Dear Family of Mary! Confession is one of the most important gifts given in Medjugorje. Our Lady invites us to her village, and she guides us through many experiences of prayer. But one of the most important moments for each individual is the Sacrament of Confession, received around the Church before Evening Mass. Confession in Medjugorje is like no other confession. It is only because Our Lady is there, giving us such peace and security that we can face the most difficult sins of our past. We can offer them to Jesus through the priest, and truly be freed and healed. It is incredible! I want to share an entry from the book, “Give Me Your Wounded Heart” by Fr. Slavko Barbaric. This book is about Confession. And this small entry may help us all to turn again to Confession with renewed faith and desire. Confession is a miracle: Your are called to Confession On March 25, 1985, the Feast of the Annunciation, Our Lady gave this message through Marija Pavlovic: Dear Children! Today I wish to call you all to confession, even if you have confessed a few days ago. I wish that you all experience my feast day within yourselves. But you cannot experience it unless you abandon yourselves completely to God. Therefore, I am inviting you all to reconciliation with God! This is one of the most striking messages in which Our Lady invites us to confession. Viewed in relation to the Feast of the Annunciation, one more thing about confession is clear. Mary is the New Eve. She said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done unto me according to Thy word” (Luke 1:38). With these words of Mary, the handmaid of the Lord, a new world began. The first woman, Eve, did not fulfill God’s plan in her life. She sinned and through sin man rejected God and His plans. Through sin, man preferred his own will, and rejected God’s will. Mary brought healing to a world which was hurt by the disobedience of our first parents. It was possible because Christ, the new Adam, accepted the will of the Father and entered the world to save the world. He entered the world through Mary, the one who was the humble and obedient handmaid of the Lord. Therefore, the deepest meaning of the Feast of the Annunciation stems not just from the fact that Christ, the Word Divine, became man for us by His Incarnation in the womb of the Virgin Mary, but even more, that through Mary’s surrender to God’s will a new history of salvation began. From this great mystery and the reality of the Incarnation, which was dependent upon Mary’s acceptance of the will of God, we discover the deep meaning of confession. Certainly it is no accident that Mary called us all to confession on her feast. This helps us to understand the question: What is confession? Confession is the total and conscious acceptance of God’s will and the renunciation of the world which enslaves and destroys us. It is the acceptance of God’s salvation and light, peace, and love, and the renunciation of the world of darkness, hatred, and unrest. Mary said, “You cannot experience a true celebration of this feast if you do not confess your sins.” It means that you cannot begin a new life if you are not prepared to tell God, “Here I am, Lord, ready to do your will.” It is God’s will for us to seek forgiveness for all those areas where we oppose Him and prefer our will to His, and where we are really closer to the old Eve than we are to Mary, the new eve. Therefore, confession is the moment when we return to a life without sin and begin to build a new world. It is the moment when we allow God to enter our lives again, when we put Him first in our lives once more. It is also the moment when the old man in us is renewed by the power of Christ’s Incarnation. The more sincere we are in our confessions, and the more regularly we receive the sacrament, the closer we will come to celebrating the true spirit of the Annunciation which Mary, the Mother of all the living and the new Eve, refers to in her message. That celebration is a celebration of life, peace, joy, love, and true community between God and man, and men among themselves. The closer we come to living what Mary is really leading us to in this message, the more we will renounce the destructive power of sin. We will become stronger when temptations arise, and we will have less fear and anxiety. In this way we will enter into the glory of being children of God. This is why it is no accident that many pilgrims and priests in Medjugorje confirm that through the sacrament of Confession they have discovered the beauty and significance of the call to conversion, of returning to friendship between God and man. Now the meaning of the ministry of reconciliation which has been given to priests becomes clearer in the eyes of both priests and believers. Surely, there is no ministry from one person to another more beautiful than the ministry of reconciliation. (Father Slavko Barbaric. Give Me Your Wounded Heart. Medjugorje: Informativni Centar Mir, 1996. P. 62-64) Truly, Confession is the Sacrament of transformation! Our Lady provides so many graces for this transformation in Medjugorje! And by extension, all around the world!! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2022 P.S. I will send out the message for January 25, as soon as possible!

January 24, 2022 Reflection – Stone #3 – The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible January 24, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady has called us to read the Bible and place it in a prominent place in our homes, consistently. She makes it clear that we will not understand her Son if we don’t let the Scriptures speak to us every day. We must start thinking as God thinks and not as man thinks. And that kind of thinking comes to us through the Bible. No other words, either from saints or mystics, can replace the prominence of the Bible in our relationship with God. Here are five messages that may help us to plant firmly in our hearts the importance of Scripture. It is not too late. Even today we can begin to contemplate the Word of God. It will change us! We will begin to see things in a new way! August 25, 1993“Dear children! I want you to understand that I am your Mother, that I want to help you and call you to prayer. Only by prayer can you understand and accept my messages and practice them in your life. Read Sacred Scripture, live it, and pray to understand the signs of the times. This is a special time, therefore, I am with you to draw you close to my heart and the heart of my Son, Jesus. Dear little children, I want you to be children of the light and not of the darkness. Therefore, live what I am telling you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” August 25, 1996 “Dear children! Listen, because I wish to speak to you and to invite you to have more faith and trust in God, who loves you immeasurably. Little children, you do not know how to live in the grace of God, that is why I call you all anew, to carry the word of God in your heart and in thoughts. Little children, place the Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your family, and read and live it. Teach your children, because if you are not an example to them, children depart into godlessness. Reflect and pray and then God will be born in your heart and your heart will be joyous. Thank you for having for responded to my call.” January 25, 1999“Dear children! I again invite you to prayer. You have no excuse to work more because nature still lies in deep sleep. Open yourselves in prayer. Renew prayer in your families. Put Holy Scripture in a visible place in your families, read it, reflect on it and learn how God loves His people. His love shows itself also in present times because He sends me to call you upon the path of salvation. Thank you for having responded to my call.” September 25, 1999“Dear children! Today again I call you to become carriers of my peace. In a special way, now when it is being said that God is far away, He has truly never been nearer to you. I call you to renew prayer in your families by reading the Sacred Scripture and to experience joy in meeting with God who infinitely loves His creatures. Thank you for having responded to my call.” April 25, 2005“Dear children! Also today, I call you to renew prayer in your families. By prayer and the reading of Sacred Scripture, may the Holy Spirit, who will renew you, enter into your families. In this way, you will become teachers of the faith in your family. By prayer and your love, the world will set out on a better way and love will begin to rule in the world. Thank you for having responded to my call.” In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! January 21, 2022 Reflection – Stone #2 – Fasting

Fasting January 21, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady has called us to fasting from the very beginning of her apparitions in Medjugorje. She taught the young visionaries to fast. They would often fast for her intentions even several days at a time! Our Lady is not afraid of fasting! She once said to us: October 25, 2000 “Dear children! Today I desire to open my motherly heart to you and to call you all to pray for my intentions. I desire to renew prayer with you and to call you to fast which I desire to offer to my Son Jesus for the coming of a new time – a time of spring. In this Jubilee year many hearts have opened to me and the Church is being renewed in the Spirit. I rejoice with you and I thank God for this gift; and you, little children, I call to pray, pray, pray – until prayer becomes a joy for you… Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady called us all to fast, consistently. Fr. Slavko understood this call and tried very much to lead us in fasting. He gave 5 day fasting retreats in Medjugorje for pilgrims, which were famous for their austerity and grace!I want to share with you all something Fr. Slavko Barbaric wrote about fasting in the book, “Pray with the Heart”, published in 2000. It is actually a prayer for us to pray with him for the grace to fast. Fr. Slavko knew better than most what Our Lady needed in our fasting. Here is the prayer that he wrote: Our Lady’s call: “I would like the world to pray with me these days. As much as possible, to fast strictly on Wednesday’s and Friday’s, to pray every day at least the Rosary; the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries…” (August 14, 1984) O Lord God, Creator of all creation and my Creator, today we give You thanks for having arranged the world so wonderfully. Thank you for having given fertility to mother earth so that she may bear all kinds of fruit. Thank you for the food prepared from the fruits of the earth. Father, I rejoice in Your creatures. I rejoice in the fruits today, and I thank you. Thank you for our daily food and drink. Father, thank you for having made my body in such a way as to be able to use the fruits of the earth and so develop and serve You. Thank you, Father, for all those who, through their work, produce new life possibilities. Thank you for those who have much and give away to others. Thank you for all who are hungry for heavenly bread while eating this earthly bread. Father, thank you also for those who have nothing to eat today, for I am convinced that You will send them help through good people. Father, today I decide to fast. In doing so i do not despise Your creatures. I do not renounce them, I only want to rediscover their value. I decide for fasting because Your prophets used to fast, because Jesus Christ fasted and so did His apostles and disciples. I especially decide for fasting because Your servant, Mother Mary fasted, too. She call me to fasting: “Dear children! Today I invite you to start fasting with the heart. There are a lot of people who fast because others do so. Fasting is a habit nobody wants to give up. I ask the parish to fast out of gratitude that God allowed me to stay in this parish so long. Dear children, fast and pray with the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (September 20, 1984) Father, I present this day of fasting to You. Through fasting I want to listen to and live Your word more. I want, during this day, to learn to be turned more toward You, in spite of all the things that surround me. With this fast that I take upon myself freely, I pray to You for all who are hungry and who because of their hunger, have become aggressive. I present You this fast for PEACE in the world. Wars come because we are attached to material things and are ready to kill each other because of them. Father, I present to You this fast for all those who are totally tied down to material things, so that they are unable to see any other values. I ask You for all those who are in conflict because they have become blind in what they possess. Father, open our eyes through fasting to what You give us, to what we have. I am also sorry for the blindness which has taken hold of my senses so that I do not give thanks for the goods I have. I repent every misuse of material good because I used to judge their value wrongly. Make me able, through this fast today, to see You and the people around me better. Enable me to hear Your Word better. Through today’s fasting, let love for You and for my neighbor grow in me. Father, I decide to live on bread and water today that I may better understand the value of heavenly bread, and the presence of Your Son in the Eucharist. Let my faith and trust grow through fasting. Father, I decide to fasting and accept it because I know that in this way my longing for You will grow in me. Eagerly and with gratitude do I think of Your Son’s words; “How blessed are the poor in spirit: the reign of God is theirs.” Father, make me poor before You. Grant me grace that through fasting I may understand how much I need You. Grant that through fasting my desire for You may grow, that my heart may long for You as the deer longs for the running waters and the desert for the clouds of rain. Father, I pray to You, grant that through this fast my understanding of the hungry and the thirsty, of those who do not have enough of material goods, may especially grow. Help me see what I do not need but possess, that I may give it up for the benefit of my brothers and sisters. O Father, I especially pray to You. Grant me the grace to become aware that I am but a pilgrim on this earth, that, when passing away to the other world, I shall not take anything with me but love and good deeds. Let the awareness grow within me that, even when I possess something, I cannot call it my own for I have only received it from You to manage it. Father, grant me grace that through fasting I may become humbler and more willing to do Your will. Cleanse me of my selfishness and haughtiness. Through this fast cleanse me of all bad habits and calm down my passions, and let virtue increase in me. Let the depth of my soul open to Your grace through this fast so that it may totally affect and cleanse me. Help me to be always like Your Son in trials and temptations; to resist every temptation, so as to be able to serve You and seek Your word more and more, day after day. Mary, you were free in your heart and bound to nothing except the Father’s will. Obtain by prayer the grace of a joyful fast for me today, in which my heart will be able to sing with you a thanksgiving song. Obtain by prayer the grace for me that my decision to fast may be firm and lasting. And I offer, for all people, the difficulties and the hunger I am going to feel today. Mary, pray for me. Let every evil and temptation of Satan stay away from me today through your intercession and through the power of your protection. Teach me, Mary, to fast and to pray that day after day I may become more and more like you and your Son, Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit. Amen. (Fr. Slavko Barbaric. Pray with the Heart. January 20, 2022 Reflection – Stone #1 – Prayer

Prayer January 20, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady has consistently called us to prayer. In really every message she has given us she calls us to prayer. She has built prayer in her village, through the evening program. She told the visionaries that the parish should pray two Rosaries before the evening Mass. Then there is the Evening Mass!! After the Mass they pray the 7-7-7. And then healing prayers. And then another decade of the Rosary, or Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament or Veneration of the Holy Cross. Three hours of prayer every day at St. James Parish. But prayer continues all day long, on the hills, and in the Adoration Chapel and at the Risen Christ Statue. Prayer is non-stop in Medjugorje. And so it can be for us – especially if you have Mary TV on all day!! But the point of all that prayer, I believe, is that “prayer works miracles”. Prayer works miracles! And that is what we need constantly. Miracles of conversion. Miracles of physical healing. Miracles of joy and inner healing. Miracles of hope. Miracles of forgiveness. Miracles of vocation. Miracles of family healing. Miracles and miracles and miracles. It is prayer that brings down the Spirit of God upon us. That is how we are changed. So, the first and most fundamental stone is prayer! Pray the Rosary with these five messages! Prayer works miracles! April 25, 2001 “Dear children! Also today, I call you to prayer. Little children, prayer works miracles. When you are tired and sick and you do not know the meaning of your life, take the Rosary and pray; pray until prayer becomes for you a joyful meeting with your Savior. I am with you, little children, and I intercede and pray for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” October 25, 2001 “Dear children! Also today I call you to pray from your whole heart and to love each other. Little children, you are chosen to witness peace and joy. If there is no peace, pray and you will receive it. Through you and your prayer, little children, peace will begin to flow through the world. That is why, little children, pray, pray, pray, because prayer works miracles in human hearts and in the world. I am with you and I thank God for each of you who has accepted and lives prayer with seriousness. Thank you for having responded to my call.” September 25, 2013 “Dear children! Also today I call you to prayer. May your relationship with prayer be a daily one. Prayer works miracles in you and through you, therefore, little children, may prayer be a joy for you. Then your relationship with life will be deeper and more open and you will comprehend that life is a gift for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” October 25, 2013 “Dear children! Today I call you to open yourselves to prayer. Prayer works miracles in you and through you. Therefore, little children, in the simplicity of heart seek of the Most High to give you the strength to be God’s children and for Satan not to shake you like the wind shakes the branches. Little children, decide for God anew and seek only His will, and then you will find joy and peace in Him. Thank you for having responded to my call.” May 25, 2018 “Dear children! In this peaceless time, I am calling you to have more trust in God who is your Father in Heaven and who has sent me to lead you to Him. You, open your hearts to the gifts which He desires to give you and, in the silence of your heart, Adore my Son Jesus who has given His life so that you may live in eternity – where He desires to lead you. May your hope be the joy of a meeting with the Most High in everyday life. Therefore, I am calling you: do not neglect prayer because prayer works miracles. Thank you for having responded to my call.” In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2022

January 19, 2022 Reflection – The Five Stones

The Five Stones January 19, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! As we move into 2022, it is important that we go over the basics again. If we keep your spiritual lives trim and fit, we will be more able to serve Our Lady in her plans. We just talked about the Rosary which is the bedrock of Our Lady’s strategy. But she also has given us five basic spiritual practices that keep us in good shape for the battle for souls. These are the 5 stones! The first reading for Mass today is from Samuel 17. David decides to go up against Goliath, the enemy of his people. Here is what he chose for a weapon: “Then, with staff in hand, David selected five smooth stones from the wadi and put them in the pocket of his shepherd’s bag. With his sling also ready to hand, he approached the Philistine.” We know that Goliath ridiculed David, but David “ran quickly toward the battle line in the direction of the Philistine. David put his hand into the bag and took out a stone, hurled it with the sling, and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone embedded itself in his brow, and he fell prostrate on the ground.” David won that battle by calling on the Lord, and using the weapon he knew best, a stone and sling. I think that the stones and sling represent humility and trust. David won by relying on the Lord, and in his humility, using what he knew best to use. We are called to a very daunting battle in our day. The Philistines are huge, rich, powerful and rampant. But we, like David, have only our humility and our trust in God. And so with those two weapons we must advance. The five stones we have in our shepherd’s bag are: Prayer Fasting The Bible Confession The Eucharist With these 5 stones, we are made strong, steady, and full of love and hope. It is good that we examine our lives to be sure that each stone is being used! Over the next week, I hope to discuss each stone. It is always good to return to the basics!! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! January 18, 2022 Reflection – Let the Rosary always be in your hand…

Let the Rosary always be in your hand… January 18, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! I want to follow the theme for yesterday, by allowing Our Lady to speak to us about the Rosary again today. I feel that we need to remember the power and efficacy of the Rosary. We have a weapon in our hands, and we do not wield it!! Listen to what Our Lady has told us about the Rosary: February 25, 1988 “Dear children! Today again I am calling you to prayer to complete surrender to God. You know that I love you and am coming here out of love so I could show you the path to peace and salvation for your souls. I want you to obey me and not permit satan to seduce you. Dear children, satan is very strong and, therefore, I ask you to dedicate your prayers to me so that those who are under his influence can be saved. Give witness by your life. Sacrifice your lives for the salvation of the world… I am with you, and I am grateful to you, but in heaven you shall receive the Father’s reward which He has promised to you. Therefore, dear children, do not be afraid. If you pray, satan cannot injure you even a little bit because you are God’s children and He is watching over you. Pray and let the rosary always be in your hand as a sign to satan that you belong to me. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Just holding the Rosary is a defense against evil!! How much more is our prayer of the Rosary? August 25, 2019 “Dear children! Pray, work and witness with love for the Kingdom of Heaven that it may be good for you here on earth. Little children, God will bless your effort a hundred fold; you will be witnesses among peoples, souls of unbelievers will feel the grace of conversion and Heaven will be grateful for your efforts and sacrifices. Little children, witness with the Rosary in hand that you are mine and decide for holiness. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Again, holding the Rosary alone is powerful. But to witness with it, means to pray it with others!! September 25, 2019 “Dear children! Today I am calling you to pray for my intentions so that I may help you. Little children, pray the Rosary and meditate the mysteries of the Rosary because, in your life, you are also passing through joys and sorrows. In this way, you are transforming the mysteries into your life, because life is a mystery until you place it into God’s hands. In this way, you will have the experience of faith like Peter who met Jesus and the Holy Spirit filled his heart. Little children, you are also called to witness by living the love with which, day by day, God wraps you with my presence. Therefore, little children, be open and pray with the heart in faith. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Finally the mysteries of the Rosary are powerful! They bond us to Our Mother. We know her life in an intimate way. And she bonds with us in our own mysteries, always there to comfort and strengthen us when we suffer. Pray the Rosary!! Live the Rosary!! Share the Rosary!! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2022

January 17, 2022 Reflection – Dedicate your time to the Rosary!

Dedicate your time to the Rosary! January 17, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! Through the visionaries Our Lady has built into the daily lives of the people of Medjugorje the prayer of the Rosary. In response to Our Lady’s request for the prayer of the Rosary, Fr. Slavko instituted the prayer of the Rosary before the Mass in the evening, and also after that Mass. The path up Apparition Hill has bronze reproductions of the mysteries of the Rosary, and all who climb that hill pray the Rosary. It is the practice of the Parish to pray the decades of the Rosary during their climb up Cross Mountain every Friday. It is most usual to see a Rosary in everyone’s hands in Medjugorje! Why is this? Because Our Lady has insisted upon it! Take this message: June 25, 1985(Tuesday) “I invite you to call on everyone to pray the Rosary. With the rosary you shall overcome all the adversities which satan is trying to inflict on the Catholic Church. All you priests, pray the Rosary! Dedicate your time to the Rosary!” And this message: June 12, 1986 “Dear children! Today I call you to begin to pray the Rosary with a living faith. That way I will be able to help you. You, dear children, wish to obtain graces, but you are not praying. I am not able to help you because you do not want to get started. Dear children, I am calling you to pray the Rosary and that your Rosary be an obligation which you shall fulfill with joy. That way you shall understand the reason I am with you this long. I desire to teach you to pray. Thank you for having responded to my call.” For our Mother, the Rosary is compulsory. Indeed, it is the Rosary that will defeat our enemy and bring in the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart! For 2022, may we renew our dedication to the Rosary, praying it very often throughout the day. With the Rosary we shall overcome all the adversities which Satan is trying to inflict on us and on the whole world! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2022

January 14, 2022 Reflection – I will lead you…

I will lead you… January 14, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! I want to share a powerful message from 2011! Our Lady’s messages only grow with meaning as time goes by. She is giving us words of hope and power! In this message she assures us that she is leading us. What a comfort this is! She is the best shepherdess ever! May we follow her with peace and trust into the Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart! She told us: “Dear children! The Father has not left you to yourselves. Immeasurable is His love, the love that is bringing me to you, to help you to come to know Him, so that, through my Son, all of you can call Him ‘Father’ with the fullness of heart; that you can be one people in God’s family. However, my children, do not forget that you are not in this world only for yourselves, and that I am not calling you here only for your sake. Those who follow my Son think of the brother in Christ as of their very selves and they do not know selfishness. That is why I desire that you be the light of my Son, that to all those who have not come to know the Father, to all those who wander in the darkness of sin, despair, pain and loneliness, you may illuminate the way, and that with your life, you may show them the love of God. I am with you. If you open your hearts, I will lead you. Again I am calling you: pray for your shepherds. Thank you.” (November 2, 2011) Yes, Mother we will follow you, we will open our hearts to you so that you can lead us! Thank you for coming to us so faithfully for all these years. We are yours!!! January 13, 2022 Reflection – For this, that I am here, is His great love!

For this, that I am here, is His great love! January 13, 2022 St. Hilary Dear Family of Mary! March 18, 1996 (Yearly apparition to Mirjana) “Dear children! On this message, which I give you today through my servant, I desire for you to reflect a long time. My children, great is the love of God. Do not close your eyes, do not close your ears, while I repeat to you: Great is his love! Hear my call and my supplication, which I direct to you. Consecrate your heart and make in it the home of the Lord. May he dwell in it forever. My eyes and my heart will be here, even when I will no longer appear. Act in everything as I ask you and lead you to the Lord. Do not reject from yourself the name of God, that you may not be rejected. Accept my messages that you may be accepted. Decide, my children, it is the time of decision. Be of just and innocent heart that I may lead you to your Father, for this, that I am here, is His great love. Thank you for being here!” In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2022 PS. After praying with this message, I realize anew how important Medjugorje is. January 12, 2022 Reflection – A Healing Prayer

A Healing Prayer…   January 12, 2022 Dear Family of Mary As we move into 2022, it is good to take stock and pray for blessing and healing. I want to share a prayer for deliverance from any evil spirits that might be trying to use the Coronavirus as a way to oppress or cause suffering for ourselves, our families, and our countries. You can pray this prayer with a parish at this link. Or you can pray it alone or with your family or prayer group. Here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/OhW-0d_8ggE Pray this prayer three times: Coronavirus Deliverance Prayer In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
