Thousands of pilgrims were called to the 40th Anniversary! July 20, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! June 25, 2021 “Dear children! My heart is joyful because through these years I see your love and openness to my call. Today I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom, because Satan is strong and by his deception, wants to lead away all the more hearts from my motherly heart. That is why decide for God so that it may be good for you on the earth which God gave you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” In the 40th Anniversary Message Our Lady thanked us for our openness to her call!! Then she told us “I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom…” Her call is so very important to her. She has no other way to reach us but to call to us through the messages she gives the visionaries. She calls us because she loves us, and needs our help. She calls us because we are important to her. We are her children! Her love impels her to call out to us! And over and over again, she has said to us: “Thank you for having responded to my call!” We who have come to know Our Lady through her presence in Medjugorje, have grown to need her call. We have consecrated our lives to her Immaculate Heart, and now we long to live her call. It is our joy and our hope to follow the call of our Mother. I gathered a few of her many messages in which she spoke about her call to us. We can pray with these words from Our Lady, letting them ignite in our hearts a new zeal for her call!! “Dear children, you are not called to the darkness, but you are called to the light. Therefore, live the light with your own life.” (6/5/86) “You are called to witness and to become joyful carriers of God’s word and of His love.” (2/25/97) “I invite you to rejoice and be joyful Christians, responsible and conscious that God called you in a special way to be joyfully extended hands toward those who do not believe, and that through the example of your life, they may receive faith and love for God.” (11/25/97) “Today, I call you to open yourselves completely to me so that I may transform you and lead you to the heart of my son Jesus, so that He can fill you with His love.” (10/25/98) “In a special way, little children, you are called to live and witness peace – peace in your hearts and families – and, through you, peace will also begin to flow in the world.” (9/25/02) “By your baptism you are all, in a special way called and loved, therefore witness and pray that you may be my extended hands to this world which yearns for God and peace.” (12/25/11) “You are called, little children, to be my children, my beloved children, so I can present you all to my Son.” (6/25/13) “Turn your thoughts and heart to God and to prayer. Trust in His love. In God’s spirit, little children, you are all called to be witnesses.” (5/25/14) “You are called to holiness and created for Heaven; therefore, seek Heaven and the things of Heaven.” (1/25/18) “God called me to lead you to Him because He is your strength. That is why I am calling you to pray to Him and to trust in Him, because He is your refuge from every evil that lurks and carries souls far from the grace and joy to which you are all called.” (7/25/18) “Dear children! You have a great grace of being called to a new life through the messages which I am giving you. This, little children, is a time of grace, a time and a call to conversion for you and the future generations. Therefore, I am calling you, little children, pray more and open your heart to my Son Jesus. I am with you and love you all and bless you with my motherly blessing.” (10/25/18) “Little children, you are all called to pray with all your heart for the plan of salvation to be realized for you and through you.” (5/25/19) “Little children, you are also called to witness by living the love with which, day by day, God wraps you with my presence.” (9/25/19) “You are called, little children, to penance and prayer. As nature fights in silence for new life, also you are called to open yourselves in prayer to God, in Whom you will find peace and warmth of the spring sun in your hearts.” (2/25/20) Let us pray: Immaculate Conception, Mary my Mother, Live in me, Act in me, Speak in me and through me, Think your thoughts in my mind, Love through my heart, Give me your dispositions and feelings, Teach, lead me and guide me to Jesus, Correct, enlighten and expand my thoughts and behavior, Possess my soul, Take over my entire personality and life, replace it with Yourself, Incline me to constant adoration, Pray in me and through me, Let me live in you and keep me in this union always. John 2: 1- 11 On the third day there was a marriage at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; Jesus also was invited to the marriage, with his disciples. As our shipmate, Mary MacDonell, said, the wedding feast at Cana represents well what is going on in Medjugorje. The couple getting married at Cana can stand for all of us, for humanity. Both Jesus and Mary have been given to us by the Father, to help us in our struggle with evil, our struggle with life. They lived and still live with us. When the wine failed, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “O woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Our Lady was looking out for the couple. She noticed that the wine had run out. That wine stands for grace, and she knows in our day that humanity is in danger of collapse because we have wandered so far away from God and His grace. We are running out of truth and light. When she told Jesus that the wine was running out, Jesus replied “O woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” Jesus knew that if he did a miracle, there would be no turning back. His public ministry would begin. And it would lead to his crucifixion. This was a “Rubicon Moment” for Jesus. The decisive step that could not be reversed. But Our Lady knew at Cana that that decisive step was necessary and this was the time. She told the servants to do what ever Jesus told them to do! Decision made! Denis recently heard in his heart the words, “This is a Rubicon moment’, in terrms of Our Lady’s plan in Medjugorje. And so it is. We believe she has taken a decisive step, at the 40th Anniversary. It is a step that cannot be reversed, and will lead to a final confrontation. Just like Jesus’ Rubicon Moment at Cana, she is now at her Rubicon Moment in Medjugorje, decisively moving against the devil, declaring victory for her children. Now six stone jars were standing there, for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to them, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the steward of the feast.” So they took it. The servants are all of us who are responding to Our Lady’s call in Medjugorje. As Mary MacDonell said, we have been filling up those stone jars with all of our prayers, sacrifices, fasting, and suffering. This is our part in this work for salvation. We may not have understood it all these years, but every drop of prayer and sacrifice has been collected and is going to be turned into grace! When the steward of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the steward of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first; and when men have drunk freely, then the poor wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.” The Steward (who represents the Church Hierarchy) had failed at his job of monitoring the wine and providing enough for the wedding, and was shocked that the good wine had been reserved for later. When the victory is won, those who should have been leading the way in this battle against evil will be shocked to see Our Lady and her little army actually winning the day. But God never picks the best. He is comfortable with the little and the humble. This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him. (John 2:1-11) I couldn’t help sharing this little reflection again. I believe that Jesus’ Rubicon Moment at Cana is now Mary’s Rubicon Moment in Medjugorje. She is going to be revealed just like Jesus was revealed, by the miracle that will happen. And the battle will be declared. No going back. We need to stay very close to our Champion General, Mary, the Mother of Jesus. This is her hour, and she needs us. Pray (especially the Rosary), sacrifice, fast, adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, Confess, and read the Bible. We are in the crucial moment and our Mother needs us! June 25, 2021 “Dear children! Pray with me for peace and freedom.. July 16, 2021 Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Dear Family of Mary! “Today I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom, because Satan is strong and by his deception, wants to lead away all the more hearts from my motherly heart.” (06/25/21) It has occurred to me that Our Lady wants us to pray with her for peace and freedom, because we will not be safe without her. Our prayers alone are not enough. We need Our Lady to defend us from Satan at this time, more than ever. We need to stand with her, very near to her, as she defeats him. And I then thought about the Rosary, and in particular the Hail Mary, and how very powerful this prayer is against Satan. It is indeed a deliverance prayer, a spiritual warfare prayer. This will make you laugh! I did a google search to see if anyone had written about the Rosary or the Hail Mary as a spiritual warfare prayer, and guess what…included in the articles was one of my reflections, from three years ago! When I read it, I was amazed. I said exactly what I wanted to say today. So I share it with you all now! Our Lady has given us the weapon for battle, the Rosary! (September 4, 2018 reflection) “…My children, all the more the shadows of darkness and deception are being cast over you, and I am calling you to the light and truth – I am calling you to my Son…” (September 2, 2018) The more I read over the September 2nd message, the more I feel the importance of the sentence above. Our Lady tells us that darkness and deception are being cast over us. (The current affairs in the Church are witness to this truth.) It is as if darkness and deception are a cloak that is being thrown over us, to capture us. I believe that the word “cast” is important. Those who do evil “cast” spells. They “cast” evil hexes and spells over their victims to harm them. I believe that is exactly what is going on. The enemy is working to cast darkness and deception over the world, over each of us, in order to harm us and hobble us. We see the fruit of such casting all around us. (I want to add, we do see the deception and evil even better three years later, don’t we. It is as if the world has been covered with darkness) Our Lady tells us that she is calling us to the light and truth, to her Son! She is standing against these castings, and offering us the truth and light of Jesus. And I sense that she has given us the means to answering that call, through the Rosary. It has occurred to me that the prayers of the Rosary are spiritual warfare prayers. They are not just nice platitudes or holy gestures, but in fact they are powerful weapons against the castings of the enemy. Think about it. The Sign of the Cross places us directly in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, by means of their name. We are in the Father, in the Son and in the Holy Spirit. Powerful place to put our souls! Safe from all evil!! Then the Creed! We pray that powerful statement of truth at the very beginning of the Rosary. It is brimming with light. It is packed with the truth, from start to finish. I am sure each phrase of the Creed smacks the head of the enemy with a terrible blow! This is spiritual warfare. Then we pray the “Our Father”! “Our Father, who art in heaven.” We place ourselves in the family of God, with the Father as our head. We recognize that He is in heaven, that there is a heaven, and it is our home. This is light and hope for us each time we say it, light and hope that stops the enemy’s lies. “Hallowed be thy name.” How many times is God’s name taken in vain by our enemies. They hate God. But we bless Him. We give all honor and glory to Him. He is our Lord and Father. “Thy Kingdom come…” The enemy of our souls is trying desperately to create his anti-kingdom. But we say, over and over, “Thy Kingdom come.” We choose God’s Kingdom, and deny the enemy any room in our lives. “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The enemy believes he can lure us away from God’s will. He tries to do this with clever plots and temptations. But over and over, we beg God to help us to choose His will in everything. This is spiritual warfare. Just these few phrases of the Our Father are enough to blow the enemy out of the water. They align us with the truth, and deny the enemy any ground in our lives. The remainder of the Our Father is exactly how we can live each day in the will of God, so simply designed to keep us in the Father’s will. “Give us this day our daily bread.” If we are content with today, the temptations of the enemy will have no effect on us. “And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” When we live forgiveness, we close the opening to our soul through which the enemy’s lies can enter. Asking for forgiveness and forgiving others is a powerful protection from evil. “And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” These words unmask our enemy, for he would lead us into temptation and bring evil upon us. But we ask God to keep us out of the enemy’s reach. Then we pray the “Hail Mary” and this is the great prayer for us in the battle. Why? Because it is given to Mary to crush the head of satan, and he knows it. This prayer places us directly in her heart where we are safe from the enemy’s lies and spells and hexes and curses. Our Lady is the Ark that protects us from all evil. Saying the Hail Mary over and over protects us from the deception and darkness. She is like Galadriel’s vial in “The Lord of the Rings”, which burns with brilliant light in the darkness. “Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.” We acknowledge Our Lady as the bearer of the Lord,who defeated Satan through the Cross. The powerful presence of the Lord with Mary gives us a place of safety! We place ourselves with her and in her, which is a place out of danger! “Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.” Blessed! Mary is blessed! She was chosen to from all women to be the Mother of Jesus. And she shares her blessedness with us, in her Son. We enter into the blessedness of God through Mary. “Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.” This petition is a deliverance prayer. We ask Mary to pray for us, to intercede to the Father for our salvation, now and at the hour of our death. The enemy can do nothing when we are in the hands of Mary. Finally, the Glory Be is the exclamation point – we give glory to our God – Three Persons! Again, a protection and a sign to the enemy that we belong to God. I am not able to do justice to this idea, but I do believe that the Rosary is a spiritual warfare prayer that cannot be beaten. With the Rosary, we beat back the enemy’s lies, darkness and evil castings. We keep the light of Christ burning in our hearts and spread it to others. Our Lady told us: August 8, 1985 “Dear children! Today I call you especially now to advance against satan by means of prayer. Satan wants to work still more now that you know he is at work. Dear children, put on the armor for battle and with the Rosary in your hand defeat him! Thank you for having responded to my call.” And she also said this: February 25, 1988 “Dear children! Today again I am calling you to prayer of complete surrender to God. You know that I love you and am coming here out of love so I could show you the path to peace and salvation for your souls. I want you to obey me and not permit Satan to seduce you. Dear children, Satan is very strong and, therefore, I ask you to dedicate your prayers to me so that those who are under his influence can be saved. Give witness by your life. Sacrifice your lives for the salvation of the world. I am with you, and I am grateful to you, but in heaven you shall receive the Father’s reward which He has promised to you. Therefore, dear children, do not be afraid. If you pray, Satan cannot injure you even a little bit because you are God’s children and He is watching over you. Pray and let the rosary always be in your hand as a sign to Satan that you belong to me. Thank you for having responded to my call.” We have a warrior Mother, and she has given us the weapon with which we can defeat our enemy. It is the Rosary. It is spiritual warfare. Pray each word of your Rosary with the heart, and watch as God delivers us, our families, our countries and our Church from Satan. The Lord will be victorious!!   Our Lady tells us: Satan is strong…Part 3   July 15, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Today I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom, because Satan is strong and by his deception, wants to lead away all the more hearts from my motherly heart.” (06/25/21) Our final five messages are amazingly descriptive of the times we are living in. In almost all of our countries there is a decisive shift away from faith, with governments choosing to put forward atheistic agendas and promoting discord. Our Lady has the solution, the way towards peace. Her words give us direction and hope: May 25, 2016“Dear children! My presence is a gift from God for all of you and an encouragement for conversion. Satan is strong and wants to put disorder and unrest in your hearts and thoughts. Therefore, you, little children, pray so that the Holy Spirit may lead you on the real way of joy and peace. I am with you and intercede before my Son for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Come Holy Spirit! Lead us to joy and peace!! January 25, 2017 “Dear children! Today I am calling you to pray for peace: peace in human hearts, peace in the families and peace in the world. Satan is strong and wants to turn all of you against God, and to return you to everything that is human, and to destroy in the heart all feelings towards God and the things of God. You, little children, pray and fight against materialism, modernism and egoism, which the world offers to you. Little children, you decide for holiness and I, with my Son Jesus, intercede for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” We renounce materialism, modernism and egoism! Mother lead us to peace! August 25, 2017 “Dear children! Today I am calling you to be people of prayer. Pray until prayer becomes a joy for you and a meeting with the Most High. He will transform your hearts and you will become people of love and peace. Do not forget, little children, that Satan is strong and wants to draw you away from prayer. You, do not forget that prayer is the secret key of meeting with God. That is why I am with you to lead you. Do not give up on prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Mother help us to pray, pray, pray! October 25, 2020 “Dear children, At this time, I am calling you to return to God and to prayer. Invoke the help of all the saints, for them to be an example and a help to you. Satan is strong and is fighting to draw all the more hearts to himself. He wants war and hatred. That is why I am with you for this long, to lead you to the way of salvation, to Him who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Little children, return to the love for God and He will be your strength and refuge. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Mother please draw our hearts toward you, and lead us to your Son, Jesus! June 25, 2021“Dear children! Thank you for having responded to my call.” Mother we understand that this battle is between You, Our Mother and Queen of Peace and Satan, our enemy! We stand with you, praying for peace and freedom. Give us eyes to see the truth, and to live peace. We are your children! May your Immaculate Heart Triumph!!   Our Lady tells us: Satan is strong…Part 2   July 14, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Today I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom, because Satan is strong and by his deception, wants to lead away all the more hearts from my motherly heart.” (06/25/21) Again today we will meditate on Our Lady’s words to us about the times we live in. Our Lady tells us: Satan is strong! She wants us to be aware that the enemy of our souls is stron, he is a formidable opponent. We need to listen to her instructions in order to withstand his temptations and to recognize his lies. Here are five more messages in which Our Lady guides us in the spiritual battle in which we find ourselves. May we allow her words to take root in our hearts. January 25, 1991“Dear children! Today, like never before, I invite you to prayer. Let your prayer be a prayer for peace. Satan is strong and desires to destroy not only human life, but also nature and the planet on which you live. Therefore, dear children, pray that through prayer you can protect yourselves with God’s blessing of peace. God has sent me among you so that I may help you. If you so wish, grasp for the rosary. Even the rosary alone can work miracles in the world and in your lives. I bless you and I remain with you for as long as it is God’s will. Thank you for not betraying my presence here and I thank you because your response is serving the good and the peace.” Our Lady makes it clear that our enemy is out to destroy everything, human life, all that grows on our planet, and in fact the entire planet. It sounds like this is the final battle. What are the remedies? Prayer, God’s blessing of peace, the Rosary and Our Lady’s presence!! August 25, 1991“Dear Children! Today also I invite you to prayer, now as never before when my plan has begun to be realized. Satan is strong and wants to sweep away my plans of peace and joy and make you think that my Son is not strong in His decisions. Therefore, I call all of you, dear children, to pray and fast still more firmly. I invite you to self-renunciation for nine days so that, with your help, everything that I desire to realize through the secrets I began in Fatima, may be fulfilled. I call you, dear children, to now grasp the importance of my coming and the seriousness of the situation. I want to save all souls and present them to God. Therefore, let us pray that everything I have begun be fully realized. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady has come with a heavenly plan to save all souls, but her enemy and ours is working like never before to stop her. We can help Our Lady by praying and fasting for her plan to be fulfilled! October 25, 1992 “Dear children! I invite you to prayer now when satan is strong and wishes to make as many souls as possible his own. Pray, dear children, and have more trust in me because I am here in order to help you and to guide you on a new path toward a new life. Therefore, dear little children, listen and live what I tell you because it is important for you when I shall not be with you any longer that you remember my words and all that I told you. I call you to begin to change your life from the beginning and that you decide for conversion not with words but with your life… Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady is with us to save us, but she warns us that we must listen to, remember and live all that she is teaching us. We must carry on her plan into the future. Conversion is always essential in the battle against the enemy. We must turn to God with our whole hearts… August 25, 1994“Dear children! Today I am united with you in prayer in a special way, praying for the gift of the presence of my most beloved son in your home country. Pray, little children, for the health of my most beloved son, who suffers, and whom I have chosen for these times. I pray and intercede before my Son, Jesus, so that the dream that your fathers had may be fulfilled. Pray, little children, in a special way, because Satan is strong and wants to destroy hope in your heart. I bless you. Thank you for having responded to my call. We need hope. Without hope we will not be strong. Our hope comes from a deep faith, and helps us to grasp the graces God sends to us. St. John Paul II (her beloved son) demonstrated hope to a heroic degree. She wants us to imitate him, living lives of faith, hope, and love at all times. May 25, 1995“Dear Children! I invite you, little children, to help me through your prayers so that as many hearts as possible come close to my Immaculate Heart. Satan is strong and with all his forces wants to bring closer the most people possible to himself and to sin. That is why he is on the prowl to snatch more every moment. I beg you, little children, pray and help me to help you. I am your mother and I love you and that is why I wish to help you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” We are safe if we stay very close to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. We must pray every day the consecration to Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. It will protect us! Here is a powerful consecration prayer written by Mother Immaculata in 1986) Immaculate Conception, Mary my Mother, Live in me, Act in me, Speak in me and through me, Think your thoughts in my mind, Love through my heart, Give me your dispositions and feelings, Teach, lead me and guide me to Jesus, Correct, enlighten and expand my thoughts and behavior, Possess my soul, Take over my entire personality and life, replace it with Yourself, Incline me to constant adoration, Pray in me and through me, Let me live in you and keep me in this union always. Amen. Our Lady gave this prayer to Mother Immaculata 25 years before She started appearing in Medjugorje. This prayer is being answered through Our Lady’s presence in Medjugorje and through Her messages. Mother Immaculata writes: “This is Mary’s hour and She is about to crush Satan’s head. Her very being is like incandescent heat in the center of the Trinity and the manifestation of Her power is growing daily. The Immaculate Conception prayer (which is what Our Lady called the prayer she gave me for union with Her) has been used by exorcists who have told me that the devil reacts violently to it and is subdued by it. Our Lady tells us: Satan is strong…   July 13, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Today I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom, because Satan is strong and by his deception, wants to lead away all the more hearts from my motherly heart.” (06/25/21) It is never comfortable to talk about Satan. He is our sworn enemy. He hates us because we are made in the image and likeness of God and Satan hates God. Therefore he hates us. By his pride, Satan is cut off from God for ever, and so in his envy and hatred he longs to take as many of us into eternal damnation as he can. Because of the sin of Adam and Eve, our human family has been battling this terrible enemy since the beginning. But, as our Lady tells us, Satan is the master of deception, and disguises his temptations so that we will swallow them whole. That is the situation we find ourselves in now. The world over has been seduced into accepting satan’s plan of destruction. And the more people who follow him, the stronger he seems to be. Our Lady has told us that Satan is strong 15 times in her messages. I would like to present 5 of those messages today, and 5 more on Wednesday and Thursday, so that we can listen to Our Lady’s words and let them guide us. When she tells us Satan is strong, she always follows it with some good advice for us on how to withstand him and actually defeat him. We need to hear her words in these days, so that we are not discouraged or frightened, but rather ready for battle. So here are the five messages for today. Listen to Our Lady, and let her guide you… Sometime in January or February 1985 To Vicka, at the time of a prayer meeting on the mountain: “My dear children, Satan is strong. He wishes, with all his strength, to destroy my plans. Pray only, and do not stop doing it. I will also pray to my Son, so that all the plans that I have begun will be realized. Be patient and persevere in prayer. Do not permit Satan to take away your courage. He works very hard in the world. Be on your guard.” Satan is strong: Pray and do not permit satan to take away our courage. September 25, 1987 “Dear children! Today also I want to call you all to prayer. Let prayer be your life. October 25, 1988 “Dear children! My invitation that you live the messages which I am giving you is a daily one, specially, little children, because I want to draw you closer to the Heart of Jesus. Therefore, little children, I am inviting you today to the prayer of consecration to Jesus, my dear Son, so that each of you may be His. And then I am inviting you to the consecration of my Immaculate Heart. I want you to consecrate yourselves as parents, as families and as parishioners so that all belong to God through my heart. Therefore, little children, pray that you comprehend the greatness of this message which I am giving you. I do not want anything for myself, rather all for the salvation of your soul. Satan is strong and therefore, you, little children, by constant prayer, press tightly against my motherly heart. Satan is strong and wants to destroy and deceive you in many ways. Therefore, dear children, pray every day that your life will be good for yourselves and for all those you meet. I am with you and I am protecting you even though satan wishes to destroy my plans and to hinder the desires which the Heavenly Father wants to realize here. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Satan is strong: pray that our lives may be good for us and for those we meet, and stay under Mary’s protection. October 25, 1990 “Dear children! Today I call you to pray in a special way that you offer up sacrifices and good deeds for peace in the world. Satan is strong and with all his strength, desires to destroy the peace which comes from God. Therefore, dear children, pray in a special way with me for peace. I am with you and I desire to help you with my prayers and I desire to guide you on the path of peace. I bless you with my motherly blessing. Do not forget to live the messages of peace. Thank you for having responded to my call. Satan is strong: Pray with Mary for peace, and allow her to guide us through her messages on that way of peace. Let us pray: St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou O prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell all the evil spirits who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.   The holy land of Medjugorje!   July 12, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! I want to share a special homily with you. It was given by Fr. Richard Shaaibu, on June 21, 2021 in Medjugorje! Fr. Richard Shaaibu HOMILY The call and the journey of Abraham, our father in Faith. We’re all on a journey. A journey to a world described in the Gospel reading of today. A world free from prejudice. A world where we are not allowed to condemn or to judge. A world where we learn to respect one another as brothers and sisters irrespective of our affiliation. And how we judge our brothers and sisters tells much about ourselves and the God we worship. Now, the promise. The Promised Land that God promised to Abraham is not a place where you build estates. It is not a mighty land. Hm-mm. It is the Land of Our Souls. Amen? The Land of Our Souls. And the condition of our souls… As I said, “We are on a journey,” and like Abraham, we are promised! Moses was asked to go to the land of Egypt and bring the children of God out of the land of bondage. Of course, he did. But he was not able to step into the Promised Land. Why? Why? Why? He doubted. So, he only saw the Promised Land from afar, and from the mountain top. You and I, we are the new Israelites on a journey to a promised land, a Holy Land of Medjugorje. We do not see Medjugorje from afar. We do not see Medjugorje from a mountain top. We are in Medjugorje! Hallelujah! Are we, or are we not? Are we or are we not?! Good. Now, the promise made to Abraham has been made to you, to myself, to the reverend fathers here, and to all of us seated here. And what is that promise? In the Land of Medjugorje, if you obey like Abraham, you will go back home with miracles in your life. Miracles are here! Healings are here. Restoration is here. Prosperity is here. Compassion of God is here. Breakthrough is here. Open doors are here. Fulfillment is here. Peace is here. Love is here. Mercy of God is here. Do I continue? Or do I stop? Protection is here. Security is here. Are you looking for material wealth? Euro is here. Deutsche Mark is here. Dollars are here. Pounds certainly are here. Name them. (ha ha!) We are promised intimacy with God. We are promised life without end. We are promised to be the channel of God’s life to others. But our journey to Medjugorje entails Faith. Did you see Jesus in the front now? Did you see Him at the door of your heart? He’s knocking. He wants to enter the door of your heart, but He has no handle from outside to enter the door of your hearts. You, from inside, open the door, let Him find a dwelling place in your heart, and all these promises shall be your portion. Hallelujah! Two young men went to pray for rain. A man of prayer went empty-handed to the forest. And a man of faith carried umbrella. And behold the Lord answered their prayers. Heavy storms and heavy rain. What happened with the man of prayer? Beaten by rain. And the man of umbrella, a man of faith, was protected from the beating of the rain. How many of us here are men and women of prayer? And how many of us here are men and women of faith? We come here to pray for rain. And there will be rain. Do you carry your umbrella? If you don’t, I carry my own. And I believe the priests carry their own, too. Faith is the article. Faith is the way, and the life, and the truth of our coming here. I want to share with you a testimony of a bishop in my diocese, or in my province. You all know, you are familiar about Boko Haram in Nigeria. I know, I believe that my brother here will share with me, because we are both victims of Boko Haram, he came from Cameroon. The Diocese of Maiduguri in Borno State, which happens to be the headquarters of Boko Haram, was devastated and shut down for three years. No masses. The priests in the dioceses were sent to various dioceses in Nigeria. Only the bishop and maybe few individuals remained in the diocese. A man of faith, a man of prayer. I mean, three years, to shut down a diocese. You know what it means. During one of his prayers of Divine Mercy, at 3 pm, the bishop saw Jesus come out from the Tabernacle. Life is not a story, it is reality! Jesus came out from the Tabernacle with a sword. Hallelujah! And He called to the bishop, “Take it.” The bishop was dumbfounded. But he knew by some Divine instinct that a devil would not come out of the Tabernacle, so it must be Jesus. So, he summoned his courage, and stood up from his kneeler and came to Jesus and collected the sword. And the minute he collected it the sword turned into…A Rosary!  (holding up his rosary) How many of you have your own? I want to see it in your hand. And do you know what Jesus said to him? “Boko Haram is done. Boko Haram is done! Boko Haram is done.” Hallelujah! (Boko Haram was irradicated from that diocese shortly after the encounter with Jesus) My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, there is power in the Blessed Sacrament! It is no longer the bread and wine you see with your naked eye. I now have come to believe what Jesus said, many of us have eyes, but we cannot see. A lady who was not a Catholic came to the Catholic church and received Communion, and went out, she removed her handkerchief and spat it out on it and folded it up. She went back home – whatever she did with the Blessed Sacrament, God knows – she went and flush it in the toilet. But the result of it was that the water from the toilet was gushing out blood. Was gushing out blood! My final testimony is about myself. I haven’t shared it with anybody except a few individuals from the group I came with. A week before I came to the United States of America, my parish priest was kidnapped and murdered on that same day. But two weeks before that, I was in the church, saying my Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament. Five young men, heavily armed, came, looking for “Father Richard Shaaibu.” I stood up with my Rosary. I said, “I am he.” I knew I was in trouble. They said, “No. You’re not the one we are looking for. We are looking for that Hausa priest.” I said, “I am he.” They said, “No.” Then I heard one of them say, “Look, he doesn’t have the blood of the Hausa people. Can’t you see how he dresses? He only learned their language. He’s not the one. Let’s go.” So they left. So they said I don’t have the blood of Hausa? Then it just dawned on me!  I said to myself, “Oh, I have the Blood of Jesus in me. I have the Blood of Jesus in me!! And I have the Grace of Jesus in me!” The reason we don’t see the power in the Blessed Sacrament is this: Do we come to mass? Or do we come to celebrate mass? The Rosary is the second weapon in our life journey. Why don’t we see power in it? Two things are there: Do we say the Rosary? Or do we pray the Rosary? These are two different things. I want to beg your indulgence. Right from the word “go,” I was never a Catholic, I was never a Christian, but I was converted by the Dominican community. That is why, when I see the Dominicans, I bow. Please, Dominicans, get up from your seats. Dominicans. Please a round of applause for them! The Diocese I came from is a Dominican Diocese. I am their product. They are my mentors. God bless you, Dominicans. The spirit of St. Dominic is in me, and it will remain in me forever. God bless you! Thank you. So, you want to see the power of the Eucharist? Do you have time! The Dominicans will teach you how to pray. They will teach you how to pray. I can’t believe that the Rosary will be said or prayed in 15 minutes. Where are we rushing to? Where are we going? We’re in a rush? We’re in haste. We don’t have time for God. We don’t have a moment for silence in our life. We don’t have a moment of prayer, of contemplation, of revelation, or meditation. And so, we don’t see power in those things. I pray your pilgrimage to Medjugorje will never be in vain. I pray for all of you. You came empty-handed. You will never go back home empty-handed.  Miracles will happen in your life. Healings will happen in your life. Your prayers will be answered. Whatever you came to look for in Medjugorje will be given to you through Christ, Our Lord.   Pray with me for peace and freedom! July 9, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Today I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom…” (June 25, 2021) Our Mother has spoken to us about peace for 40 years. Her messages are filled with wisdom and light. She has been guiding us on the way of peace so that we could help her to establish peace in our peaceless world. In simple words, Our Lady teaches us the powerful way of peace. Let us pray over her words in the days ahead, so that we will begin anew to live her call to peace. Pray these words from Our Lady, pray them and let them become part of you! “I wish to engrave in every heart the sign of love. If you love all mankind, then there is peace in you. If you are at peace with all men, it is the kingdom of love.” (1/18/84) “Pray, because I need many prayers. Be reconciled, because I desire reconciliation among you and more love for each other, like brothers. I wish that prayer, peace, and love bloom in you.” (2/2/84) “Pray, because prayer is very necessary to you. With prayer, your body and soul will find peace.” (2/4/84) “Pray and fast! I ask of you. Pray for the peace and humility of your hearts.”(2/12/84) “Dear children, pray! All agitation comes from satan. Your prayer should lead to peace.” (3/15/84) “The most important in spiritual life is to ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit comes, then peace will be established. When that occurs, everything changes around you. Things will change.” (10/84) “Without prayer there is no peace. Therefore I say to you, dear children, pray at the foot of the Cross for peace.” (9/6/84) “Give me all your feelings and all your problems! I wish to comfort you in all your trials. I wish to fill you with peace, joy and love of God. (6/20/85) “Dear children! God is allowing me along with Himself to bring about this oasis of peace. I wish to call on you to protect it and that the oasis always be unspoiled. There are those who by their carelessness are destroying the peace and the prayer. I am inviting you to give witness and by your own life to help to preserve the peace. (6/26/86) “Hatred gives birth to dissensions and does not regard anyone or anything. I call you always to bring harmony and peace. Especially, dear children, in the place where you live, act with love. Let your only instrument always be love. By love turn everything into good which satan desires to destroy and possess. Only that way shall you be completely mine and I shall be able to help you.” (7/31/86) “Dear children! By your own peace I am calling you to help others to see and begin to seek peace. You, dear children, are at peace and not able to comprehend lack of peace. Therefore, I am calling you, so that by your prayer and your life you help to destroy everything that is evil in people and uncover the deception that satan makes use of. You pray that the truth prevails in all hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (9/25/86) Dearest Mother, we want to respond to your call, to live your words and be a help to you in your quest for peace.     The Miracle of the Sun during the 40th Anniversary Celebration   July 8, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! My heart is joyful because through these years I see your love and openness to my call…” (June 25, 2021) On June 25th, the 40th Anniversary of Our Lady’s coming to Medjugorje, we sat amongst the thousands of pilgrims who had come from around the world to be with Our Lady on this great anniversary! And at apparition time, 6:40 pm, the sun grew very large and began to pulsate over our heads. It continued to do so throughout Mass, until it set. I believe that sun was showing us how very joyful Our Lady was on that day! Her heart was joyful because we had come to be with her on this important day! By coming, the pilgrims from the whole world showed their openness to Our Lady’s call. We showed her how much we love her and how much we desire to respond to her call! Even though travel was not easy and carried risks, we came! It was a beautiful reunion between the Mother and her children!! Let’s just receive Our Mother’s joyful heart, as we contemplate what she has given us over these 40 years. In silence, we can remember all she has done for us. So many of us have had life-changing conversions in Medjugorje. Our hearts have been changed, healed, cleansed and renewed by her prayer and the ministry of her priests in confession. So many of us have found our vocations during our visits to Medjugorje! Like Fr. Shawn Roberson and Fr. Benedict Croel, hundreds of men have heard the call to become priests!! So many young women have found their life as religious sisters. So many young couples have found their vocation to marriage and family! So much fruit!! So many of us have heard the call to prayer in Medjugorje! Prayer groups have formed. So many of us go to daily Mass, and pray the Rosary daily! So many of us now fast for peace and for Our Lady’s intentions. So many carry out works of mercy and evangelization – (One thinks of Mary’s Meals, Rachel’s Vineyard, Youth 2000, etc.) Let’s just give thanks today, for all the beautiful fruit we have received from Our Lady’s presence and guidance in Medjugorje. Especially we can thank her that we were given the grace to love her and to be open to her call. That is the best gift we have been given.
