July 7, 2021 Reflection – My heart is joyful!!!

July 7, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! My heart is joyful because through these years I see your love and openness to my call. Today I am calling all of you: pray with me for peace and freedom, because Satan is strong and by his deception, wants to lead away all the more hearts from my motherly heart. That is why decide for God so that it may be good for you on the earth which God gave you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (June 25, 2021) These are the words Our Lady gave to us on the 40th Anniversary of her coming to us in Medjugorje. She began by giving thanks to all of us who have loved her and have received her call with open hearts. She told us that her heart is joyful because of our response to her call!! “Dear children! My heart is joyful because through these years I see your love and openness to my call.” Our Lady is such a humble and loving Mother. She speaks of her heart to us. She is sharing her deepest feelings, feelings that come from the heart. This means that she feels very comfortable with us. We are her dear ones, her family. Why? Because you don’t go up to strangers and speak about your heart and the joy it feels at their presence. This language is reserved for those who are loved intimately and tenderly! Our Lady is truly our Mother. She loves us with a mother’s heart. And her mother’s heart is alive with love for us. If you watch a mother who has young children you will get a glimpse of what Our Lady must have felt like on the 40th, seeing her children present for the celebration. When little ones come running, even if it is just from another room, and they approach their mother, often at full speed to greet her, the mother’s face lights up, her eyes gleam, her cheeks flush, and she smiles from ear to ear. Nothing could make her happier than the approach of her little ones. Nothing!! It is the same for our Mother, Mary. She says that her heart is joyful! That is her understatement. If we could see her, we would see that same mother’s joy at the approach of her little ones. We would see her face light up with love, her eyes sparkle with anticipation, her cheeks flush. She loves us in just that sort of way. Her heart is joyful because through these years she has seen our love and openness to her call!!! Are we not the most blessed of children!! We have a Mother who loves us with her whole heart. We have a Mother who is with us in these most difficult times, and who has not left us. We have a Mother from Heaven!! Thank you, dearest Mother for having come to us for 40 years with love, peace, hope, truth, grace, wisdom, understanding, patience, and protection. We want to respond to your call with trust and love! In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2021 The picture below give you an idea of how many people responded to Our Lady’s call and came to Medjugorje for the 40th Anniversary!!! So much love!!

July 6, 2021 Reflection – Evening Mass Homily – June 24, 2021

Evening Mass Homily on June 24, 2021 July 6, 2021 St. Maria Goretti Dear Family of Mary! Today I want to share another homily given in Medjugorje during the 40th Anniversary Celebrations. This homily was given from the perspective of one of the local people who was there from the beginning of the apparitions. A local boy who became a Franciscan priest! Fr. Miro Sego!! Fr. Miro shares from the perspective of someone who was present from the beginning of the apparitions, someone who grew up with the visionaries and has been present for the past 40 years. But he shares with a deeply spiritual perspective. It is a privilege to hear him speak words of thanks and praise to the Gospa! International Mass Homily by Fr. Miro Sego Thursday, June 24, 2021 Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist 40th Anniversary Celebration Dear Brothers and Sisters, In this celebration tonight, when we gather in this place of Our Lady, in her Shrine, we wish first of all to give thanks to God and to the Queen of Peace for these 40 Years of Grace; the Grace that has been poured out in this place, the Grace that has been poured out on all those who throughout these years have been coming here. Mary, in her Hymn of Praise, has been singing with her whole heart how God has looked down upon His servant in her lowliness, how the Almighty has worked marvels, how His promise protects Israel – remembering His Mercy, the Mercy promised to Abraham and his sons forever. We all, Brothers and Sisters, have been included in this Canticle of Mary, in this Hymn of Praise, in this Project of God throughout these years. Because God, exactly 40 years ago, this very day, sent her, the Queen of Peace, to this little, unknown place which God has looked down upon with His gaze, and to which God has given a special Grace. It was this place that God visited by sending Mary, the Queen of Peace. And in this way, this place has become one of the most famous places on the globe. God sends the one whom He had looked upon once, she who was little and humble, she who in her Canticle sings about the great deeds that the Lord had done for her. Brothers and Sisters, He sent her so she, today, with her gaze could penetrate deeply into our afflictions, into our misery, so we today could take her as our intercessor and our teacher and pray to her that she might give us eyes that would be light for the truth, that she may (make) well our gaze before everything that pollutes and stains and bedraggles human souls. That is why, dear pilgrims, Brothers and Sisters here in Medjugorje would like to share the joy of our faith that we reveal in the truth, that the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, today is very much present in this place, that she is the one who gathers us, encourages us to the Life in Jesus Christ and to the Life in His Gospel. I believe, Brothers and Sisters, that each one of you in your families, has your own family album. Every one of our families, I believe, has a little book, you could say, where we keep all those photographs. And in that way, we keep memories of important events; maybe of individuals or of the entire family, too. So, in those little books, we can find various pictures, maybe the Baptism of our children or grandchildren, maybe the celebration of the First Holy Communion, of Holy Confirmation, of weddings – all those events, birthdays of members of our families. In the same way, different pictures of when we were having funerals, or perhaps, we can find various photographs of journeys and trips, places that we visited, but also we can find some other occasions that are connected to our life or the life of our families. We know that we keep memories there. This is the book that you take out only in different situations, in different encounters. In a special way when we wish to share time with our friends, then we will show them parts, or the moments, or the memories. There in those books we have photographs of important events. Therefore, Brothers and Sisters, in this encounter tonight; my dear friends, my dear parishioners, dear pilgrims, all of you who are present here, all of you who are spread all over the world; together with you I wish to open the book of events that our heart holds, as well as many memories that are there in the albums of our souls, of our love. Tonight, I am opening before you, and I am sending, and I wish to share the album about Medjugorje and the Queen of Peace. I was born in a village, in a village where all of our visionaries were born. I grew up with the Visionaries in the same graveyard, in the same yard, in the same playground. We visited the same church. We shared many things that were common in our everyday life. That is why today I wish to remind you about our album where we have the events of these 40 years. Those are photographs that were sealed in the memories of us, of our village, of our parish, of our Hercegovina, of Croatian people, of Europe, and of the whole world. The First Picture, the First Photograph: The Visionaries – six children; two boys, four girls. On the outside, they are no different than the others. They had been chosen. They were set before us. They were placed before the whole world; and for 40 years, we lived the history of heaven and the human camera that has been taking photographs of them ever since 24th of June, 1981, up till this day. Heaven, the Queen of Peace, chooses them for one of the greatest acts in our generations. Our Dear Heavenly Mother, Queen of Peace, Thank you for our visionaries! Their eyes are able to look at what is denied from us today. Their eyes look at your face. We listen and we look at them and they are passing on your words. They describe your beauty. They are moved and they showed your tears. Thank you, Our Mother, because you have chosen them. Somebody said that they wouldn’t be chosen for someone’s projects because they are so different and in many things they were the group that you couldn’t put together. And you have chosen them. As a Mother you called them by name: Ivanka, Vicka, Mirjana, Marija, (James, Jacob) Jacov, and (John) Ivan. Dear Visionaries, Today, from the depth of our hearts, we congratulate you for this anniversary. We thank you. We thank your families who in these 40 years were with you, who have been living, and still live everything that you were going through. And just as you, they were at the disposal to millions of pilgrims. The Second Photograph: Our Village, Bijakovici, and the Parish of Medjugorje. We will all admit, you are no longer the same. Our fields are nearly all given the disposal to pilgrims. Our old homes completely changed. Our old homes no longer fit these new events. So many pilgrims were seeking for accommodation, a roof over their head, and we were sharing with them both bread and the table, and the home, and the church, and our time. We were grateful in all of this time, because they prayed with us. We were amazed because they ate with us and they were with us. That is how we all here, parishioners, we gained new brothers from the far world; and they, as pilgrims, they gained the rich experience of our prayer, of our faith, of our Christian simplicity. This valley in Hercegovina, Brothers and Sisters, was filled with prayer, with hymns, that even Heaven accepted, that Heaven confirmed. Even though there were many foreign Christians, pilgrims – there were much more of them than of us – yet, we never lost our identity, our language, or our family. If we were not able to protect these fields from becoming hotels and pensions for pilgrims, we were able to preserve our faith, our traditions, and celebrations of our feasts. We were able to maintain our families. We raised children and raised sons that will be protecting the messages of Our Lady and Our Lady’s Medjugorje. My Dear Parishioners of Medjugorje and Bijakovici, As one of you, I am here before you at the altar, and I wish to invite you to fidelity. I wish to invite you to humble gratitude for everything that Our Lady, Queen of Peace did and gave to us. It is our task and our duty to protect these Holy Hills that were touched by Mother, where millions of pilgrims have been stepping on. We are responsible for everything that has been happening here, that is happening here. Our hearts, from the very beginning, were open to Our Lady, to her words, and to her plans. She surrendered those plans to us, and it is up to us, jealously, to protect those and to pass them on to young generations. Let us not forget, my Dear Pilgrims, my Dear Parishioners of Bijakovici and Medjugorje, that the church from the whole world is kneeling here in your village. The whole church is kneeling on your rocks just outside your home; therefore, you need to respect and appreciate that gift. Today, with all of your heart, give thanks to God for that. The Third Picture, the Third Photograph – the Church, and the Area around the Church. This sacred space of the parish church of St. James, this ground has been filled with so many prayers. This space has been consecrated and cleansed with the blood of our martyr, Fr. Križan Galić who was killed in a bed by bomb. And that blood shed and consecrated not just the parish house, not just the church, but the entire parish. The space around our parish church has been cleansed by the martyrs’ death of other Hercegovinian Franciscans Martyrs. Those who come from this parish, or those who were at a service in Medjugorje. Dear Brothers and Sisters, my Dear Parishioners, my Dear Pilgrims, This church before we stand today, this church is our cradle. It is our home, it is our clinic, it is our pharmacy. This is exactly at this place and this space, all those who were seeking for a cure and remedy found that here. In no other places, they were not able to find a cure, and here we received it from Our Mother, Queen of Peace. Starting with the Franciscans who were martyrs, the priests, and all those who were building this church and monumental cross on Cross Mountain; from the priests, parish priest – Father Jozo, assistant priest – Father Stanko without knowing, without being aware of that, but you, Mother, were preparing us for the encounter with Heaven and Earth. And exactly this day on June 24th, 1981, Our Lady started her program that thrilled everyone. Even though it was a great surprise, there was much more Joy and Gratitude because the Queen of Peace came to us. Therefore, before all of you present here tonight, I would like to express gratitude to all parish priests throughout these 40 years, as well as to all parish assistant priests, to all of the nuns, who were an important chain and who endured a very heavy burden in pastoral care of millions of pilgrims that visited this parish. They were the extended hands to all of the pilgrims in the project of the Queen of Peace. The Picture Four – Pilgrims. My Dear Parishioners, They are not here because of us. They came to us. We are here because of them and we need to serve them and really act towards them as our greatest friends. God gave to us both wine and grappa so we would be able to toast to them and say to them, “Welcome!” God has given us Grace, that on our grounds the entire Church is confessing; that in our Shrine, every knee bows down and adores our God. Every pilgrim, therefore, is invited and given to us. Just like the mother is responsible for the given child, in the same way, we are responsible for every pilgrim. Those pilgrims were given to us so we would teach them, as a mother, to speak and to pray, and to praise God, to talk to Him; that each one of our hearts may be wide and deep, that we may learn, teach everyone how to love, because we are one Church and one Family. Dear Pilgrims, We know what God and Our Lady have been asking from us to do to you. So many times we did not do that; our selfishness prevented us and really we were not able to make a step towards you. Today, on behalf of all of our parishioners, I ask you to forgive us. I ask for your pardon; forgive us, for we have scandalized you so many times and given you such a bad example so many times. Forgive us when we do not have time for you, when we did not have time to pray with you, to go to Holy Mass with you. Picture Five – the Queen of Peace. Our Dear Mother, You said, “I have chosen this parish.” And we have chosen you, too. We were patiently enduring all injustice, humiliations, and insults of so many journalists, politicians, and other enemies of these apparitions and of this place. It is hard to forget all those dramatic moments that were taking place in the first days of Our Lady’s apparitions. It is hard to speak about all those afflictions, all those obstacles that the Communist government gave the Franciscans, the Visionaries, the Parish, all people who were coming here. No one could have imagined what was to happen and how the events would continue. When the Communist regime was broken, the persecutions did not stop; rejections in the parish of Medjugorje did not stop. They still continue. In a human way when we observe everything that has been acting against these events, everything should have been stopped long ago and forgiven. However, despite all of that, the Hamlet of Bijakovici with the Hill of Apparitions of Medjugorje, with the Cross Mountain, lives and attracts more and more people from all over the world. All of us who believe that God sent Mary to help the world so the world would find its Peace, we have much reason to praise God with all of our hearts, with all of our souls, and with our entire life. We are all aware, and we all know, how many of those who knelt down humbly in Medjugorje before confessors and sought in repentance for sins by the power of God’s Mercy for their wounds to be healed, forgiveness of their sins, and ultimately their Peace. There are countless people who have discovered Jesus’ presence in the Holy Sacrifice of Holy Mass and returned to the Eucharist. Countless people have experienced in Medjugorje for the first time, and in that way they discovered what it means to adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. There are countless people who have been climbing Cross Mountain and they encountered Divine Love that suffers for all, and they were returning ready to carry their life crosses for Jesus, and in that way, to find their peace in their suffering. Countless people on our Hill of Apparitions – the place of first apparitions – for the first time they said the Rosary, and they felt the beauty of this simple prayer. Our Dear Mother, Our Dear Mother who has chosen this Parish, and these Parishioners, Throughout these 40 years, we have remained faithful by receiving your messages. I know that as people in these 40 years, we also felt a certain fatigue. Unfortunately, maybe in our families, today we speak so little about you. The fervor of the family prayer that was so strong, that resounded outside our homes, as if that disappeared. Today, we pray so little and so shortly, Holy Bible and Fasting are hardly mentioned. Tonight, on behalf of all of these people of our parish, Our Dear Mother, I ask you, forgive us for those moments when our ears were shut and our hearts were closed. But what rejoices us is that you did not give up on us. Yet, you continued as a Mother to invite us, and to encourage us, as a Mother, by saying to us, “Dear Children, Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Mother, I surrender to you tonight, and I consecrate and place under your Motherly mantle, all of these people gathered here in Medjugorje, as well as all those who in Medjugorje found Peace and found Joy in their hearts, found the desire to live, and who, because of these new circumstances, are not able to be in Medjugorje. Dear Brothers and Sisters, Dear Parishioners, Dear Pilgrims, These pictures, photographs from the album, and many others that have been deeply printed in our hearts, in the memories throughout these 40 years, all those are reason that tonight, we can Praise God! And from the bottom of our heart, we can say, “Thank You, Our Dearest Mother, for the 40 Years of Grace!” Amen! July 5, 2021 Reflection – Why we need St. John the Baptist

Why we need St. John the Baptist! July 5, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! On the Feast of St. John the Baptist, Fr. Cassian Sama gave the homily at English Mass in Medjugorje. I was there!! It was the perfect homily for the 40th anniversary, on the first day Our Lady appeared to the children. She came on that day, because she wanted us to realize how important St. John the Baptist is! She wanted us to learn from him how to live for Christ, how to point to Christ, how to worship Christ! St. John was the prophet who pointed to Christ, and she came to continue his work in our day, through Medjugorje. He also lived the 5 stones, which are the foundation stones of Our Lady’s call. So enjoy this homily and may we all become more like St. John the Baptist! Fr. Cassian Sama – Homily on the Feast of St. John the Baptist, June 24, 2021 Today we celebrate on of the most important saints in the Church, but sadly many of us have no devotion to St. John the Baptist. St. John the Baptist as the Gospel of Luke tells us, was filled with the Holy Spirit in the womb of his mother. And sometimes he is called a man on fire. A man filled with the Holy Spirit, burning with the Holy Spirit. And after his birth we are told in today’s gospel the child grew and became strong in Spirit. One famous Russian Orthodox Saint by the name of St. Seraphim of Sarrov, said that the goal of the Christian life is the acquisition of the Holy Spirit. The goal of the Christian life is the acquisition of the Holy Spirit. Didn’t Jesus tell us, “If you then who are wicked know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in Heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” So on this feast day we are asked to imitate St. John the Baptist. A man that was burning with the Holy Spirit. But who was the one that prompted St. John the Baptist to be filled with the Holy Spirit? We are told it was the blessed mother. We are told that when the Blessed Mother visited the house of Zachariah, we are told that Elizabeth heard her voice and was filled with the Holy Spirit! And John leapt in her womb for joy! There was a Protestant pastor by the name of D.L. Moody. Every time he preaches he asks the Holy Spirit to fill him. So a lot of people got curious and said, Pastor why do you keep asking the Holy Spirit to fill you? Do you know what his answer was? “Because I leak!” (Ha ha) Because I leak!! You are all laughing. We all leak big time! So the question is how do we get filled with the Holy Spirit? St. John the Baptist can tell us how! First; Devotion to the Holy Eucharist. When Mary visited Elizabeth’s house, and John recognized that she was pregnant with His Lord, what did he do? He adored Jesus in Mary’s womb. Mary is the first Tabernacle. So whenever you see a tabernacle in the church, recognize that that is Mary, because that tabernacle contains Jesus. John the Baptist was the one who said, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.” So he is the first devotee of the Blessed Sacrament. Second, to be filled with the Holy Spirit, because we leak – if we are leaking, guess what we do, go to Confession! when you go to confession, you stop that leaking. When we are in mortal sin, we lose what we call “Sanctifying Grace” which is God’s life within us. So when we go to Confession, we are grafted back into the life of Christ. Third, St. John the Baptist teaches us that to maintain that filling of the Holy Spirit we must fast. That is why he went to the desert. The desert is not a fun place. It is not a place where you have cocktails or drink Margaritas, and sit down and chill! No! the desert is the place that is uncomfortable but at the same time, it keeps you alert. He went to the desert to encounter God. Not to be distracted by worldly things. Because his whole life pointed to Christ. His whole life pointed to God. The Holy Spirit educated him there and prepared him so that when the Savior arrived he would point people to Him. Fourth, the whole reason to be filled with the Holy Spirit is to know Christ. It was the great doctor of the Church, St. Jerome, who said, “ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.” It always gets me when I see Catholics holding there Rosaries, and they pray and pray and pray. But when I question them about the mysteries, they look at me as if I am strange. If you don’t know Scripture, you are not praying your Rosary right. The Rosary should open up yourself to understand what Christ is all about in Scripture. In Scripture, God speaks to you. In Scripture, the Holy Spirit illumines your mind to know who Christ is. Finally, prayer. St. John the Baptist went to the desert to pray. The great doctor of the Church, St. Alphonsus Liguori said, “Of you don’t pray, you will be damned.” I love him, he doesn’t mince his words. Prayer is the way to receive the grace to fast. To pray is the way to receive the grace to go to confession, to confess well. To pray is the way to know who Mary really is. To pray is the way to open yourself to God. And to surrender yourself to God. Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, and the Rosary are the perfect ways in which the Holy Spirit can fill you. You know, when I pray the Rosary, in my mind I am experiencing a Pentecostal experience. Why do I say so? Because with the Rosary you pray with Mary as she prays for you. Go back to the first Pentecostal experience. Who was there? Mary was there. In fact the Apostles had a nine day retreat with Mary! So whenever you pray the Rosary, you are having a retreat with Mary!! She helps you to dispose yourself to receive her Spouse, the Holy Spirit. That is why the Rosary is the most perfect prayer after the Sacrifice of the Mass. You don’t want to know Christ through my perspective…(even though I am a priest!) There is a Dominican saying, “To contemplate and share the fruit of your contemplation.” If you contemplate the wall, you will preach the wall. If you contemplate nothing, you will preach nothing. But if you contemplate Christ, then you will preach Christ. So the Rosary is the perfect way to open yourself to the Holy Spirit. So St. John the Baptist, as you realize, gave us the five stones of Medjugorje! These are the five stones, as Fr. Leon spoke so eloquently about yesterday. In the Cathedral in Minnesota where I live at the back of the Sanctuary, is a rugged figure, St. John the Baptist. And he stands like this…(hand extended and pointing) and his hand is pointing to the Tabernacle. His whole life was about Christ. On this 40th anniversary of Our Lady’s Visitation here in Medjugorje, let us ask St. John the Baptist to ask for the grace for us to fast, to pray, to recognize Mary when she visits us, and to give ourselves to the Holy Spirit. So my brothers and sisters, let us burn with the Holy Spirit! Let us be consumed with the Holy Spirit! Because without the Holy Spirit, the priest cannot consecrate the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ! Without the Holy Spirit, he cannot absolve the people of their sins. Even Jesus, Himself, in His Humanity, relied on the Holy Spirit. When He received Baptism, the Holy Spirit pushed him into the desert to combat Satan. This was how He could combat Satan in people’s lives. So let us imitate St. John the Baptist, by having devotion to Mary! After St. Joseph, he was the second devotee to Mary. Let us ask St. John the Baptist to have devotion to the Eucharist. I will end with this story: A couple of years back, when I was a third year seminarian, in Bloomington, Indiana, the Dalai Lama came to Bloomington and he rented our space. So a month before he arrived, seven of his monks came to scout the place. So one of my brothers, Brother Benedict, who has passed away, was showing them around. and they went into the back of the Sanctuary where the Tabernacle is. Br. Benedict talked and talked and then realized the place was quiet. He looked around, and then he looked down, and there were the seven monks down on their knees before the Blessed Sacrament. He said ‘What are you guys doing?” They answered, “Brother, there is someone divine in that box. There is someone divine in that box.” If these monks, who are not Christian, not Catholic, and they can recognize Christ’s presence in the Eucharist, what about us? So let us ask for the grace to recognize Christ in the Eucharist and surrender ourselves to Him. By so doing, we will burn like St. John the Baptist! July 2, 2021 Reflection – The only word is “Wow”

The only word is “Wow” July 2, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Denis and I are home, safe and sound, after 10 days of heaven in Medjugorje! The 40th Anniversary was a gigantic moment of grace!!! We all felt it, those of us there at St. James Church, and those of us there at St. James Church via Mary TV! As Fr. Shawn Roberson put it, “You know, if I had one word to describe this past week in my experience here, the only word that comes to mind is, Wow! I mean, utterly amazing! ” And I agree!! Wow!! Our shipmate, Stefanie transcribed the homily that Fr. Shawn gave on June 27, 2021 at English Mass in Medjugorje. Fr. Shawn was so filled with the Holy Spirit during the 40th Anniversary, that he couldn’t hide it!! His words are life giving! So, thank you Stefanie! Here is the homily: English Mass Homily for June 27, 2021, Medjugorje, given by Fr. Shawn Roberson: Well, Good Morning! You know, if I had one word to describe this past week in my experience here, the only word that comes to mind is, Wow! I mean, utterly amazing! I come from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, and we’re not short on big events. We do have big events there; but nothing like what took place on this Friday. I was so taken aback and left in awe! To be concelebrating and be in procession with 350 plus priests around the whole perimeter, being followed by that beautiful statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje… It was so incredible, so moving that it defies description. In one way, I’ve come to sympathize with even the visionaries here. If you walked up to them and said, “What’s it like to have Mary appearing to you?” There aren’t really words, probably, for them to describe it. This is a place where words fall short. And we encounter this moment as something special that we have been called to. And I know that in my heart. I was! We were, supposed to come last year in June. And we all know what happened. And we end up here for the 40th Anniversary of this incredible time. And, as we were coming to the Consecration and we heard every priest there pronouncing the Consecration in their own language, it came to me, then and there: This is the New Pentecost! This Is the New Pentecost! Medjugorje – orchestrated by Mary, Spouse of the Spirit – is the New Pentecost! The place where the outpouring of the Holy Spirit coming through Her Intercession and the Presence of Jesus Christ is poured upon His People! And it is something to behold! We are in, truly in, a historical moment! And isn’t it beautiful? Isn’t It Beautiful?! And, you know, I came to this land to see and witness such beauty, not merely in the phenomenon that’s going on, but the way that the people here have been affected, the beauty in them. Because all of us coming from English-speaking countries – and I can only speak from my own, which is the USA – we live in a very secular world; huh? A very secular world that has closed itself off to God. Where God can be put into four walls – you do your thing and leave the rest of us alone – that’s pretty much the creed of the United States. That’s pretty much where we come from. And it’s seemingly a cold place. What is the outcome of that secular world that we live in? What has become of it? St. John Paul II, in his prophetic wisdom, said, “We will be living, we are living and will be living in a time where this will be the Culture of Death.” We live in the Culture of Death. We live in a country and in a culture that has enshrined “death.” Right? And where does that come from? Death didn’t come from God; God didn’t want death. We’re told in the first reading. It comes from the envy of the devil for the Word of God. It comes from the envy of the devil and all those who belong to his party will find that out. What a terrible statement. And what is that Culture of Death, but Pro-Abortion, Pro-Euthanasia, and other things that lead us down the path of death. I was in Jamaica, Montego Bay, a few years ago, with a mission from Franciscan University – we had a beautiful mission. I was talking to a doctor there in Montego Bay. And we got into a conversation of just about, basically this, and he said to me, “Father, I was four years in residency before I even saw an attempted suicide.” They have an incredibly low suicide rate in Jamaica. I was stunned by that. I said, “We got young people dying by suicide in legions in my country.” And we talked about that and what it meant and what it came to. You know, Jamaica was always a very hospitable, welcoming place; you can walk into a store there and talk about Jesus and they’d be happy. You don’t do that in America. But that’s not the way God wants it. Every step that Jesus Christ took – every step He took – brought life. This poor woman is bleeding for years, going to every doctor, clinic, whatever is at that time, to get healed; and nothing is working. All she does is touch the fringe of Jesus, and the cusp of death that she always lived on, is gone. Let alone the story that follows that, of the little girl. Jesus doesn’t want His young people dying, especially by their own hand; whether that’s suicide directly, or that’s drug addiction and overdose. And our secular world has built a shrine around death. And what do we bring to that? We bring the life that God has given us, the Life that God has brought us to, that cherishes Life, that cherishes the Will of God, that cherishes Love. The devil is at work in that culture. He’s telling young people, “You’re worthless. Your life is worthless. You can’t have Hope.” He’s sowing seeds of doubt, despair, hopelessness, in their lives, and they have nowhere to turn. And there it is. And this is the critical need for Evangelization. And there is a great hungering out there. There is a Great Hungering! And you don’t hear anything about this on the main-stream media, huh? of the Pandemic of Suicide, the Pandemic of Death. Oh, we’ll hear about the pandemic we all know about, night after night, and sowing these seeds of fear. But we don’t hear about what’s really at the heart of the problem; because it’s a core issue for a secular world that they have no answer to. But Our Lady has appeared in Medjugorje with the answer. She has appeared with The Answer! And I don’t want to say there aren’t Pockets of Goodness, because I – as I say – I am at Franciscan University of Steubenville – there is incredible Hope; what I see in the young people. This past year, we have daily mass and we are having five daily masses because we have to spread things out – but there have been seven to eight hundred at daily mass. Have you ever gone to a daily mass, can you imagine going to a mass at 6:30 am and seeing 150 to 200 young people, college students, there? There’s Hope folks! Thank you, Jesus, is right! It’s amazing! But we also have our work to do. We have to be the witnesses that the Lord has called us; to the Goodness of Life; to the recognition that Jesus Christ loves us; He has designed us to have worth, to have purpose in this world; and to work for our salvation and the salvation of others. And in a way, we do that chiefly by our witness, by what we have gotten here in Medjugorje. Our lives have been changed. You may be sitting there saying, “Well, I really don’t’ feel it.” But that’s okay; because it has. Your life has been changed by being here. And, you know, as we raise a question – we are all going to get ready to go, Lord knows I’m going to go into withdrawal when I get back; you’ll see me with the earphones listening to the Croatian Rosary, night after night – but we go back with something. We’re not just going back with externals. We’re not going back with the gifts we bought. We’re not going back even with the experiences and the memories we have. We’re going back with something that Our Lady has done here. She’s imprinted the Image of Her Son on our hearts. She’s imprinted the Image of Love (holding his hand to his heart) right here – that we come to know our worth; that we come to know how we look in the Eyes of the Living God; that we come to know who we are by His Plan and His Design. We have been called here to Medjugorje in this time to receive. And what we have all received is the imprint on our hearts. And as we go forth, we are called, by Our Lady, to “guard our hearts.” That’s a saying among the young ladies at Steubenville; they talk about guarding your hearts emotionally from, you know, getting over-involved with guys. But we use it here, as to say that we are going to guard that image that she has imprinted on our hearts. And that image will carry us through this life, and it will radiate to others. It will radiate that the existence of what she said in her first apparitions, that God is real to a world that has declared that He is not. We have the opportunity to radiate that from the imprint that we have received. We have to guard that, with the works of these messages:  of mass, and confession, and fasting, and prayer, and rosary; and those things that Our Lady has brought us to that empower us with the Holy Spirit that we have received here. This is a special moment, in a special time, in a special place. And, incredibly enough, we all have been called to be here. Let us rejoice! Let us rejoice to know the victory is won. She is here as a sign of God’s victory, that all the works of the devil that are out there, that sometimes are very much in our face, have no power whatsoever in her presence. And we, today, brothers and sisters, are in her presence. We can rejoice in that and know that God has loved us here and called us to be His witnesses to the truth of this moment, to the truth of this time, and to the recognition that the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart – the Triumph of Our Lady of Medjugorje – will have the final word. And she leads us to her Son. She leads us to the Heart of Jesus, who has a special place for each and every one of you. Let us rejoice in that this day and call upon the Lord to continue to lead us in a greater way in His love; that we would be His witnesses to a world that is in dire need – dire need – to know that Love, to know that Purpose, and to know God’s Living Plan. Amen! View the Homily here: https://marytv.tv/english-homily-in-medjugorje-2/?smid=iqzCTRs02ic&slid=IRBKmbjFsDA Thank you, Fr. Shawn! We all say, “Wow!” Amen! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! June 29, 2021 Reflection – My heart is joyful!!

My Heart is Joyful!! June 29, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! This is our last day in Medjugorje! We are so sad to leave this oasis of peace. There is so much that Denis and I have to share with you, but we will do that from home! We want to spend as much time as we can in prayer here before we travel. So forgive me for not writing more to you these last days. One thing I can share is that Friday, June 25, 2021 was a turning point in human history. We witnessed it! Pilgrims from around the world flowed into Medjugorje on that day, and filled the church, the outdoor altar area, not just the benches but the ground going past the trees to the fields beyond, and the courtyard in front of the church. There were thousands upon thousands, including approximately 380 priests!!! It was a miraculous event!! Our Lady called her children, and they came!!! The prayer was like thunder! The choir was from heaven! And the procession of Our Lady’s statue took our breath away!! All those priests processing before her, their hearts on fire!! It was heaven. And so Our Lady said to us, to all who had gathered there and all who were joined through the internet, including our Mary TV family: “Dear children! My heart is joyful because through these years I see your love and openness to my call!” She has called us and we have answered her call. We were with her on the 40th Anniversary, because we love her and have responded to her call! Her heart is joyful!! Denis feels that the 40th Anniversary marks an important moment. Our Lady has made a decisive move to claim her children, to claim the world for Christ, and to defeat the devil decisively. She has stepped over the line and is on the offensive. We will talk about this more, but I just want to thank you all for joining us in responding to Our Lady’s call. We are her chosen troops, who will follow her into battle for the sake of souls. And she will be victorious. In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c) Mary TV 2021

June 25, 2021 Conversation with Marija and Fr. Livio

A conversation about the June 25, 2021 Message – Marija Pavlovic Lunetti and Fr. Livio   “Dear children! Thank you for having responded to my call.” (June 25, 2021) F.L. Well Marija the June 25 message as usually gives us a lot of hope, and this is full of joy but also full of encouragement to us because our Mother tells us that she sees our love and our openness. M. It is a beautiful message that we all waited for with so much joy. We have reached the fortieth year, our Lady has been with us for a long time, it has been all a bit special. We felt Heaven in these days especially yesterday and today we really prayed day and night, the hills are crowed with pilgrims, it was a surprise that no one expected. Croatians but also people from all over the world responded this way; far fewer groups from Italy. We missed them. Few organized groups, the bravest ones, we can tell that Italians are not in Medjugorje. F.L. Yes Marija, however, I know the Italians who got here did it on their own because practically the Ministry of Health does not allow trips to Bosnia until July 31.   It allows them in Croatia but starting from August I believe that there will be a larger presence of Italians. M.  Medjugorje is back in the splendor of the past years. It seems that there were more than 400 priests alone on the altar without counting all those who day and night are confessing non-stop, in fact for the youth festival we are getting organized. Let’s say it looks like they might arrive high caliber preachers not to mention names. F.L. Yes, oh well but still our Lady is more than the “Highest Office”, there is nobody like her and I have seen many pictures and a full esplanade behind the church that reminded me the youth festival and even more M. We are experiencing a moment of Pentecost after this Covid, for example the director of Radio Maria NY was here broadcasting the extraordinary event. This morning I woke up at 4.30 and like every day during these past nine days we climbed the apparition hill which was full of people who arrived today and joined us; even now that I am looking out the window and I can see lights and many pilgrims. F.L. Do you think this is hope for the whole world too? M. I was looking at today’s message, Our Lady is telling us for the umpteenth time to pray for peace and freedom because Satan is strong and I think these three words are the core of the whole message. She says her heart is joyful and so are we in these days because Our Lady is still with us. The provincial friar, tonight in his sermon, told us to pray so that Our Lady will remain with us for many more years and that this is only the beginning. We have to move forward and walk with Her in gratitude to God for all that she is giving us. F.L. Listen Marija, I have an important question to ask you. I went to see all the messages of these forty years that Our Lady has given to you officially for the Parish, but only nine times Our Lady used the word freedom – always merely referring to inner freedom, freedom before God.  This time it seems to me that the word freedom has an even greater value because, like peace, it refers not only to the heart but also to the family and social peace.  So, the word freedom combined with peace tells me that Our Lady refers to our outer freedom.  My interpretation is this: Satan certainly takes away our inner freedom with sins but now with this “one way of thinking”, with the control of the mass media, with the totalitarian states, he wants to take away religious freedom, freedom of worship, freedom of the Church, freedom of teaching, freedom for parents to teach the faith. Doesn’t it seem to you that there is a broader meaning for the word freedom. M. I have experienced communism and so for me, in these times of covid when we read newspapers (here in Medjugorje a little less) it seems that a spirit of dictatorship is taking hold in many countries like Argentina which is closed at the borders and no one can enter or exit. People who wanted to come to Medjugorje for this Fortieth Anniversary sent me messages but I wasn’t able to help them at all. There is this diabolical dictatorship. Our Lady says: “pray with me for peace and freedom because Satan is strong and with his deceptions he wants to lead away all the more hearts as possible.” I also believe that in this moment as you said Father Livio, the word “Freedom” is used wrongly in order to take real freedom away from us through these satanic plans under the pretext of “not offending the sensibilities of others”. They therefore say that “we do not offend anyone” but if I wear a chain with a cross, if I want to bear witness to my faith, I am forbidden to talk about my religion. This is why I believe Our Lady is building a new world through us. This morning a man dressed in sheepskin arrived at my house playing Scottish music, with an instrument (I can’t think of the name..) F.L. Bagpipe! M. Yes, he arrived singing and playing songs (Gospa Mjka Moja, and other local songs). He is of Polish origin, brought his wife with him and beautiful flowers because you must know that in these days I have never seen so many flowers and roses that pilgrims brought to Our Lady. A great number of pilgrims arrived here throughout the years and so many wonderful things happened, so many hearts were touched by Our Lady and by the good Lord, and lives started anew. F.L. And in any case Our Lady also warns us against Satan. She said a few months ago that he “seduces souls” meaning he really wants to distance us from her. Marija, do you say that prayer is enough or discernment is also needed, fasting is needed, sacraments, in other words should we arm ourselves against this pressure that Satan operates throughout the world and be very careful to watch over the door of our hearts? M. Here in Medjugorje we think that despite this awful virus there is a lot of confusion, so many hearts have fallen into distress, many people have gotten lost, but at the same time a great number are coming back to life. We used to have time to stop and relax and pray. I believe now Our Lady wants to start again in a stronger way, she will not stop appearing, rejoicing with us and she is preparing a major plan, much more important than we think. She says many times: “God allowed me to be with you” and today: “Decide for God so that it may be good”. Nowadays there are so many psychic and moral diseases; brain and head issues, there are no longer people who believe in providence. Our Mother is telling us: “Don’t worry about life being good on this earth which God gave you”. God gave us this Earth and He wants us to be well. God does not want us suffer, God heals, God gives joy, He is Risen, and for this reason we too must believe that the Risen One walks with us, that Christ is not a dead  but he rose with the same joy as they felt it when Jesus was among them. We must always think that Jesus is among us, and his Mother also walks with us. F.L. Marjia I wanted to say that I have read the Croatian message and in the last sentence there is this beautiful expression: “on the earth which God gave you” while in the Italian translation is missing. It’s true Father Livio we did not translate it because today being a special day we are all a bit tired but now since I am able to see the entire message I have to say yes it is correct to add it to the Italian transcription. F.L. Yes I got it from the Parish, in any case I said it because we have to make this small correction. Yes, all right. I’ll make the correction just like you suggested it. F.L. Yes yes! Marija listen was our Lady dressed in gold today? Our Lady was clad in gold and she was very joyful, she not only gave the message but also spoke to us and asked for various things. Together with a bishop who arrived from Ukraine where at this moment there is a war and who was next to me at the time of the apparition, we asked for help to Our Lady and she prayed in Aramaic, her mother tongue. Every time she prays we do not know what she says but it is an intense prayer and we believe that there will be a sign for peace in Ukraine and in many other places where uncertainties, clouds of war and hatred prevail. We asked the Queen of Peace to reign in our hearts, in our families and in the whole world. Our Lady told us that she accepted our prayers with so much joy and she will present them to Her Son Jesus. F.L. However, it is not the first time that Our Lady has spoken Aramaic, but was it precisely that language that she spoke when she was here on Earth. M. Yes, Our Lady once said that this is her mother tongue. F.L. This is awesome but she speaks to you in Croatian. M. Our Lady speaks to us in Croatian otherwise we would not be able to understand her. At the moment of the apparition, Father Livio and even today in a special way with Our Lady smiling, we felt so joyful, this cannot be described in words, we felt Heaven and this Paradise we want to transmit to all Radio Maria’s shipmates; that joy we felt tonight, that peace in our hearts that we experienced with Our Lady, that safety of being at peace with God and with ourselves because we are in God’s hands. Our Lady herself is wrapping us with her mantle and protecting us, that same safety that a child has on her mother’s lap. We were yearning for Heaven even if the time has not yet come to go with Her because she still has some plan to carry out with us. F.L. Yes she still has so many souls to save, I think. M. Every time when the moment of the apparition comes we want to tell Her: “Take us with you, it’s too awesome and we no longer want to be away from you. But then we have to come back here. She captures us when she comes from that glimpse of Heaven, wraps us in Her mantle and while we are dreaming, we wonder if this grace is real, if it’s true that Our Lady appears to us, if it is true that she gives us all these beautiful messages.  We truly feel an immense joy inside our hearts and every time we keep on repeating to ourselves: “The Lord is great, He is merciful, He is good, He gives us and shares his Mother with us; we won’t be able to thank Him enough. F.L. However, it is already the third or fourth time that Our Lady says to you we can also be happy here on Earth despite the fact that we have to face our crosses, struggles and pain; but “if you have joy in your heart this is already a taste of Heaven” as she has once said. M. Yes exactly, with her presence Our Lady brings us Heaven because she sees all that is ahead of us while we see with earthly eyes. She looks at us with Heavenly eyes, a gaze of Eternity where she wants to lead all of us and for this reason also today I don’t know how many times we prayed our entrustment and consecration prayer so that we can get closer and closer to Her Immaculate Heart also through Her own words: “You are my outstretched hands in this world” or: “I found true faith and this is why I am here”.  This is something that fills us with joy because the Lord has chosen us and wants to share with us the presence of his Mother also through our Parish here in Medjugorje. In these days going up the hill I saw so many people with tears in their eyes and even tonight in the sacristy, on the altar after Holy Mass I experienced much gratitude to God for all He is doing through us.  We felt this gratitude during these nine days of novena with professional choirs from the parish, many instruments, youngsters, elder men and women offering their time, their punctuality, everything prepared with joy and to be proud of. My voice is now feeble, we have been talking and praying since this morning with people who keep on coming here and despite my suffering, I spoke with Vicka who is not well, Mirjana is not doing well either, Ivanka did not feel like going to the altar because she was too emotional and her legs were trembling so that at the thought she almost fainted. Last night during the novena when I had to pray the Magnificat at a certain point I had to stop and asked Ivan to take over for me. Tonight, I was overwhelmed with emotion when we saw so many people singing, praying on their knees, going up the hill, and I felt like I had gone back to the early years of apparitions but with a larger number of people. We were positively shocked when we spoke to a group of Croatians who now live in Australia which has become their homeland. They took a pilgrimage walking through a local desert, all sweaty but happy and aware of making a sacrifice by praying for the intentions of Our Lady. Other people from Brazil, from America have told us that they are spiritually with us, together through Catholic radio stations such as Radio Maria are broadcasting the message of Our Lady with our scheduled programs. F.L. And in any case Medjugorje has been completely without pilgrims for many months due to the pandemic and it has been a kind of Lent, whereas now it’s Easter time, a prophecy about new times this. M. Precisely, it seems to me that Our Lady did not want to give so much importance to this message despite its importance and although she was full of joy, she never stops but keeps on staying with us in this awesome experience when she says: “God allows me to be among you”. F.L. When Vicka was hosted on Radio Maria she told us Our Mother will be together with one of you three seers such as Marija or Vicka or Ivan during all the ten secrets length. In any case at least with the persons who have received the tenth secret. Our Lady will appear until the end of your lives therefore, I don’t know how to say it, but no one can say that these apparitions are at the beginning, but for sure they still have a lot of time ahead of them. Am I wrong? M. Father Livio I must say that even though it’s been forty years now, some thoughts come into my head such as “who knows maybe Our Lady will no longer appear.” But tonight, when I saw her, I said: “Even if she no longer appears I am happy because by her presence she has been giving us so much joy that a whole life is not enough to thank her” Pilgrims by looking at us are wondering how we can keep up with these stressing rhythms. This morning I went to bed at a quarter past one and got up at half past four; tonight I’m sure I won’t go to sleep before midnight. This is our schedule. Poor people who made sacrifices to come here and probably this is their only opportunity, they come sick, desperate, asking for prayers, many sell their goods, even their house in order to make the journey to come to Medjugorje. My house is open to people that come from the surrounding areas as well. Everything has its importance for Our Lady from small gestures such as bringing a bouquet of flowers up the hill, watering them especially during the month of May. Everything is great in the eyes of God, who sees this sensitivity in our hearts and our Mother transforms us and turns us into little saints. F.L. In the end, the little saints are the biggest ones . Thank you so much Marjia  I was touched, the joy you have is right inside your heart and it shows. You have also passed it to all of us. Anyhow it is really true Medjugorje is eternally young, like the eternal youth of Mary who never fades away after forty years. It feels like the first times, I am really happy that you were able to communicate this message to us, that Our Lady is an inexhaustible source of peace and joy, thanks again for having transmitted this message to us. M. I read an online interview given by Archbishop Hoser who is not actually in Medjugorje. He got sick after having received the vaccine jab and is now recovering. He said that as soon as the pilgrims go back to their homes they have little nostalgia and he used a nice word referring to it and asserted that it is not an addiction but a desire that our Lady delivers in our hearts because she is here. As you said, we are able to find her youth despite being more than two thousand years old. Tonight, she showed us all her youth, beauty and joy in the expression of her eyes, of her mouth, even that little nose she has and the veil over her head gave me so much tenderness, it was so real, her dignity was beautiful, her sweetness that it’s impossible to describe. Her presence among us can never be forgotten and even if she will never appear to me again starting from tomorrow, I will cry out with all my strength my “Thank you Lord for having sent her among us”. F.L. And in any case Marjia, as Mother of God she participates in the Glory of her Son, and we too will be like Her because she told us: “My children when you come to Heaven and there will be the resurrection of the flesh you will also be in my image”, that is also our destiny. We must think as Our Lady said in her previous message: “You rightfully walk with the Risen Christ towards Heaven which will be your goal”. M. Exactly, but for now Our Lady is calling us to be joyful, to be love, prayer for freedom and peace because she always tells us to be her extended hands and we can do this in our own little way. Every year on the twenty-fourth of June we start walking for about eighteen kilometers in the morning and pray for peace; instead this afternoon from Citluk with Father Miro who gathered a lot of pilgrims from Celzego, singing and praying. Today as we ended the novena the temperature reached almost forty degrees. The procession started at half past four from the apparition hill toward the church and despite the heat we didn’t  stop, overwhelmed by our own joy and enthusiasm no one was able to take it away from us.  Thanks to God and to Our Lady. F.L. Yes Marjia thank you for your beautiful testimony, the enthusiasm and joy of living with Mary that you have transmitted to us. Now let’s conclude with the prayer of the Magnificat to praise and thank the Lord for these great graces He has been given us.
