January 28, 2021 Reflection – This is a time of awakening

This is a time of awakening January 28, 2021 St. Thomas Aquinas Dear Family of Mary! “…This is a time of awakening…” (01/25/21) Our Lady tells us that this is a time of awakening.  We might wonder what she means by this.  My first thought was of winter.  Where I live it is very cold these days.  There are inches of snow on the ground.  Nature is not ready to awaken.  Nothing is going to bud or grow yet.  So it isn’t yet the time for nature to awaken. Then my thoughts went to a different kind of awakening.  Could this be a time for souls to awaken?  We have been living through a very long winter in terms of our societies and the faith.  In every way, faith in God has been attacked.  For many years there has been a decline in belief and a rise in atheism.  We have seen the Christian culture decimated.  Could it be that this is a time to awakening to the reality of God?  Could it be that the Lord is going to do something to drive away the winter of our unbelief and bring the springtime of hope? When Our Lady tells us “this is a time of awakening”, it seems that she is announcing the grace of awakening.  She is not hopefully suggesting that it is the time of awakening.  She is announcing that God is sending the grace of awakening.  So the grace is there for souls to be awakened.  The grace is being poured out for souls to awake from their sleep and open to Jesus.  The grace of conversion is flowing.  The grace of a new faith is present, waiting to be accepted. In the Letter to the Ephesians, St. Paul wrote: Therefore it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.”  Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of the time, because the days are evil. (Eph 5:14-16) Maybe the grace of awakening has to do with finally realizing that God is God, and that we are not.  Maybe awakening has to do with allowing Christ to enter into our lives now as our Lord and Savior, so that He can call us out of the darkness of sin and into His Holy Light!  Maybe awakening has to do with glimpsing Heaven, Hell and Purgatory, and realizing that we have eternal souls that will live in one of those three places.  Maybe we need to be awakened to reality!!  God is God!  He made us and is calling us to Himself. Well, the good news is that if we are awakened by God, it will be to the truth.  And the truth will set us free. Let’s allow Our Lady to pray with us for the grace of awakening, for the grace of being raised to life by Christ.  And let’s pray for that grace for all of our brothers and sisters all over the world. “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light!” In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! January 27, 2021 Reflection – A Pilgrim People

A Pilgrim People January 27, 2021 St. Angela Merici Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! I am calling you at this time to prayer, fasting and renunciation, that you may be stronger in faith. This is a time of awakening and of giving birth. As nature which gives itself, you also, little children, ponder how much you have received. Be joyful bearers of peace and love that it may be good for you on earth. Yearn for Heaven; and in Heaven there is no sorrow or hatred. That is why, little children, decide anew for conversion and let holiness begin to reign in your life. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (January 25, 2021) “Dear children! I am calling you at this time to prayer, fasting and renunciation, that you may be stronger in faith…” Our Lady speaks to us about a time of prayer, fasting, and renunciation.  These are familiar topics to us, as she has been speaking about them for all of these nearly 40 years.  But they are as timely now as they were in 1981. Why? Because these three practices are the way of a pilgrim.  And Our Lady has been teaching us to be pilgrims. She appeared in Medjugorje, where the parish church was dedicated to St. James, the patron of pilgrims. She immediately began to build a prayer program in the parish that would suit the needs of pilgrims, with daily evening Mass, the prayer of the Rosary, the 7-7-7, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, daily possibilities for Confession, fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays, and the penitential climbing of the mountains for prayer.  She created a place for pilgrims. Then she drew the pilgrims from around the world by her living presence in Medjugorje.  Word spread of her apparitions to the 6 young people, and souls hungry for God began to make the journey from far and wide, to experience the Mother. Our Lady has been building a pilgrim people through Medjugorje.  And now the world needs those pilgrim people very much.  The world needs people who pray.  Indeed people who love to pray, who never neglect a moment to pray, who pray out of joy and love for God.  The world needs people who fast, who take two days a week and dedicate themselves to God alone, through fasting.  The world needs people who know how to deny themselves for the sake of other, to renounce what they can and sacrifice for others. The world needs true pilgrims to show the way back to God.  And that is who we are being formed to be.  If we live this pilgrim life, we will be stronger in faith.  And that strong faith will open the way to heaven for many. May we live our call to be pilgrim people, with all our strength and love.  Our Lady is calling us to help her. In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2021

January 25, 2021 Reflection – When the Church bells ring in Medjugorje…

When the Church bells ring in Medjugorje… January 25, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Today we anticipate a message from Our Lady through Marija Pavlovic Lunetti. As we wait, let’s review the words Marija spoke to the prayer group at Our Lady of the Angels Shrine in Italy on Saturday. Her words are comforting and give us an important piece of advice! Marija’s Message to the Friends of the Shrine of Our Lady of Angels in Abici, Italy Saturday, January 23, 2021 Dear Friends of the Shrine of Our Lady of Angels, I remember when for the first time I entered this small church where I could feel so much joy. And during those years, in all these years, we have stayed together, we stayed in touch. And I remember the time when you had an earthquake and difficulties, I was always trying to remain in touch with you and to help you with my prayers. I helped, I was there to listen to your intentions to Gospa, to Our Lady. And even now we have felt the need to help the group, the prayer group, that was born; especially now, when we have this lockdown, when this virus is limiting us. We can’t go out, and we try to find the way to get together, to pray together. For me, this moment is so beautiful and so special. We are united in prayer. Although we are far from each other, we are together in prayer. So many people say to me, “Marija, what are you going to say in these moments?” I would say: These are the moments for us to renew our faith, the messages of Our Lady, and not to be afraid. As one of the saints was saying, “Live as if it was the last day of your life; and to think the way you are going to live forever.” We have to try to work to do our best. Our Lady wants us to be her extended hands in this world. And, Our Lady asked from the prayer groups, she said so many times, “Be my witnesses. Pray.” Because so often, people are not witnesses. But we are invited to be witnesses. This is a beautiful, extraordinary opportunity for each one of us to be there to help one another. We are not in Medjugorje now, but God allowed us to be together, to be united in prayer in this way. So, when I pray before Our Lady, as this evening I am going to pray before Our Lady, I am going to pray for all of you, for all of your intentions. And Our Lady is going to listen to us. She is going to listen to our prayers and to our needs. But she expects from us to have faith, and to believe. I remember once when Our Lady was saying at the beginning of the apparitions, “If you do not convert, if you do not start leaving the sin behind, and if you do not set out on the journey of conversion, you will not be able to make it.” We believe that in these 40 years, that in actually in a few months, we hope and believe that we are going to celebrate a 40th Anniversary of Our Lady’s Apparitions in Medjugorje. We feel that we are responsible, that we need to witness, to give witness, and to live in our own families, in our communities, and wherever God brings us. I invite you to be united in the prayer because Lord hears our prayer. Very often, we say to ourselves, “God, where are you?” But God is in our midst. And with the presence of Our Lady, who appears still, every day – every day – let’s be united with her in that special moment; because that moment is a moment of grace. When the church bells of Medjugorje are ringing, remember, that that’s the moment: in your heart, together with Our Lady, say a prayer. And I am going to recommend all of you and all of your intentions. As Our Lady says, “Heaven is with us.” And that’s why we should not be afraid. We should not think about tragedies because everything – the Life and the Death – are in the hands of God. God loves us. And that’s why He has sent Our Lady, His Mother, and our Mother, in our midst. May God bless you all! Thank you, Marija, for your words of encouragement. We will remember the time of apparition every day from now on, and invite Our Lady into our hearts and lives! January 22, 2021 Reflection – You are chosen to be witnesses of hope!

You are chosen to be witnesses of hope! January 22, 2021 Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children Dear Family of Mary! On Monday we anticipate a message from Our Lady through Marija Pavlovic Lunetti.  I always like to take a look at the last message as I wait for the new one.  So here is the message from December 25, 2020: “Dear children! I am carrying to you little Jesus who brings you peace, Him who is the past, present and future of your existence. Little children, do not permit for your faith and hope in a better future to be extinguished, because you are chosen to be witnesses of hope in every situation. That is why I am here with Jesus that He may bless you with His peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (12/25/2020) I am struck again by Our Lady’s words, “…you are chosen to be witnesses of hope in every situation.”  Do we really see this as our job?  How can we be witnesses of hope?  Where does that certainty come from?  I think St. Paul explained it in an amazing way in his Letter to the Romans: I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning in travail together until now; and not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren. And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies; who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us? Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, “For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.  (Romans 8:18-39) Amen, Amen and Amen!! January 21, 2021 Reflection – Archbishop Hoser addresses American Pilgrims

Archbishop Henryk Hoser address the American Pilgrims January 21, 2021 St. Agnes Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! Thank you for having responded to my call.” (12/25/20) Today I want to share the transcript of an address that Archbishop Henryk Hoser made to the American Pilgrims, speaking from Medjugorje.  It was published by 206 Tours, and you can view the address on our website at this link: https://marytv.tv/papal-envoy/?smid=nqz0Q7sYug8&slid=3gJNYt4HsOb Archbishop Hoser said to us: Dear American pilgrims, I am addressing you from Medjugorje, from this place that you like, that you visit often during normal times. However, because of the pandemic we are all going through difficult times not only in the United States, not only in the world, but also here in Medjugorje. We suffer because of the situation of few pilgrims. We are all assigned to this health regime and we miss our mobility in the world. And here, as you know, we venerate the Holy Virgin, Queen of Peace, this peace we want to proclaim to all of you who are close and those who are far away. The time that we live in, one can compare to a very grave moment, which is noted in the Gospel. After the death of Our Lord, the world was immersed in darkness as the evangelists tell us. When Jesus Christ, Son of God, and Son of Man, who was sent by God to save us, died in human hearts, those hearts were filled with darkness, and also this world that caused the death of Jesus Christ fell into darkness. We have to be able to read what is being presented as a “sign of the time”. God, who is Master of history, who is the Master of our present life, wants us to know what the sign tells us, it is: “Without Me, you can do nothing.” So we have to attach ourselves to His presence in us, and around us, so that we can dispel darkness, so that we can go towards the Light. He brings us light, as the Canticle of Zechariah says; Today He is the sunshine [dawn]that comes from on high. Today, we are so much in need of this sunshine [this Dawn]! In my message, I will address you from here in Medjugorje, with the intelligence of the heart, about the situation in the United States. I would like to formulate a perspective: if the United States promises and projects a life that supports the development of human life and the protection of Human life in all stages of existence, the United States will be saved. If your politics push you towards the negation of the values of human life, all of that will contribute to the enlargement of a darkness that scares us all. Therefore we must all witness to the proclamation of hope in the world, the hope that comes from God, because God comes to us from the future. He is waiting for us in the time to come. He is not waiting for us any more in history. We are going towards Him. So we can live what He offers us – peace with God and peace with all men, starting with those who are close to us and moving outward to those who are far away from us. So, may this time in which we await better times, strengthen your fidelity, and give you courage to overcome the difficult moments of your life. May the Holy Virgin, Queen of Peace, bless you, protect you, and love you without limit. https://marytv.tv/papal-envoy/?smid=nqz0Q7sYug8&slid=3gJNYt4HsOb We are grateful for the pastoral care of Archbishop Hoser. May we all work towards a culture of life, from conception to natural death.  All life is sacred and worthy of our care. In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2021

January 20, 2021 Reflection – He holds you firmly by the hand…

He holds you firmly by the hand… January 20, 2021 St Fabian and St. Sebastian Dear Family of Mary! “…With Jesus, every fear, suffering, and pain disappear, because your heart accepts His will and everything that comes into your life. Jesus will give you the faith to accept everything and nothing will distance you from Him — because He firmly holds you by the hand and does not permit for you to distance and lose yourselves in difficult moments — because He has become the Lord of your life…” (12/25/20 Jakov) Psalm 16 A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in thee I take refuge. I say to the LORD, “Thou art my Lord; I have no good apart from thee.” As for the saints in the land, they are the noble, in whom is all my delight. Those who choose another god multiply their sorrows; their libations of blood I will not pour out or take their names upon my lips. The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; thou holdest my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I keep the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also dwells secure. For thou dost not give me up to Sheol, or let thy godly one see the Pit. Thou dost show me the path of life; in thy presence there is fulness of joy, in thy right hand are pleasures for evermore.  (Psalm 16) In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2021

January 19, 2021 Reflection – Permit Jesus to begin to rule in your lives…

Permit Jesus to begin to rule in your lives… January 19, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! We continue to prayerfully consider the December 25, 2020 message through Jakov: “That is why, my children, surrender your hearts to Jesus and permit Him to begin to rule your lives, because only in this way, will you accept the present and be able to face the world in which you live today…” (12/25/20 – Jakov) Our Lady is determined to make one point in this message.  That point is that we must surrender ourselves to her Son.  We must recognize how much we need Jesus, and completely surrender our lives to Him.  She is insistence on this point.  I believe she sees the world from eternity, and she knows what is coming.  And she knows that we will not be safe until we are completely under the authority of Jesus, safely standing under His leadership and command. “Surrender your hearts to Jesus and permit Him to begin to rule your lives…” What does it mean to permit Jesus to begin to rule our lives?  How does Jesus rule in us?  I believe it has to do with taking Jesus’ words and deeds into our hearts, where they can begin to change us and mold us into His image.  It is when we get to know Jesus through prayer, through the Scriptures and through the Sacraments, that we slowly begin to see Him as our Lord.  We see how worthy He is to be given authority over us, to be our teacher, our perfect example, our ideal, and yet our loving brother who desires only to be loved by us and to love us! St. Paul learned to love Jesus in this way.  And he struggled to draw all men into that love, that compassionate rule of Christ.  He wrote the Colossians about how to “let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts”.  St. Paul wrote: Colossians 3: 1-17 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you once walked when you lived in them. But now put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scyth’ian, slave, free man, but Christ is all, and in all. Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience, forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.  (Colossians 3:1-17) “…only in this way, will you accept the present and be able to face the world in which you live today…” We live in a very dark time, in a very dark world.  If we try to face this darkness on our own power, with our won wisdom, and our own strength, we will fail.  The only we to face this present time in this present world situation is to allow Christ to face it in us and through us.  Jesus wants to rule in us, to live in us in His fullness, so that He can overcome the world, and defeat the enemy of our souls.  He needs our surrender so that He can take over in and through us. In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2021

January 18, 2021 Reflection – The Lord is my shepherd…

The Lord is my shepherd… January 18, 2021 Martin Luther King Day (USA) Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady continued to speak clearly to us in the Christmas Message received through Jakov Colo.  We might ask ourselves these questions that she put to us today.  How can we live Our Lady’s challenges more fervently? “…Children, is your heart open towards Jesus? Have you completely surrendered your life into His hands? Have you accepted Jesus as your father, to whom you can always turn and in Him find consolation and everything you need to live true faith?” (12/25/20 Jakov) Psalm 23 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want; he makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Ps 23:1-6) In Jesus we can find consolation and everything we need to live true faith.  Amen, and amen! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan © Mary TV 2021
