The Gift of Faith

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 March 7, 2018 St. Perpetua and St. Felicity Dear Family of Mary! In the March 2 message Our Lady speaks to us of the three Theological Virtues: Faith, Hope and Love. She speaks of them in the most practical of ways. For instance, here is what she says about faith: Everything is easier alongside Him [the Father]. Also, pain lived with Him is easier because faith exists. Faith helps in the pain, and pain without faith leads to despair. Pain lived and offered to God raises up. Did my Son not redeem the world through His painful sacrifice? As His mother I was with Him in the pain and suffering, as I am with all of you. My children, I am with you in life, in suffering, in pain, in joy and in love…(March 2, 2018) Our Lady tells us that life lived with God is always easier. Everything in life contains challenges, suffering, pain, disappointment, fear. But those things are mitigated by our relationship to the Father. Indeed, Our Lady tells us that even pain is easier when endured with the Father because faith exists. When we have a relationship with the Heavenly Father, we receive faith as a gift. That faith helps us to see everything with different eyes. What could seem to be impossible, endlessly difficult, can become “easier” to bear when we have faith. Indeed, when we offer our pain up to God, it becomes joy, according to Our Lady. It raises us up!! We believe that God exists, and that He has promised many things that will happen in the future. These promises, these truths, give us a context in which to understand our difficulties and pains, and that context helps us bear our difficulties. When we have faith in God we have a strength to live that rises above our difficulties. The Catechism of the Catholic Church describes the Gift of Faith like this: 1814 Faith is the theological virtue by which we believe in God and believe all that he has said and revealed to us, and that Holy Church proposes for our belief, because he is truth itself. By faith “man freely commits his entire self to God.” By faith we commit ourselves entirely to God. We believe that He exists, that He is personally involved in our lives and that He has a wonderful plan for our future. When we have this faith we can give ourselves over to God in a profound way. Then we can face our realities, our pains and sufferings, with a confidence that all will be well, because God is involved, He loves us. Faith makes everything bearable. Faith makes sense of everything. God exists! And He loves us! Our Lady continues in the message to tell us that our faith will reveal to us that Jesus saved us by his painful sacrifice. And He gave us Mary as our Mother to be with us in our pains and sacrifices. Her motherly presence is a sign of God’s love, and a reason to continue to believe. Our faith is bolstered by Her presence in our lives. So the Virtue and Gift of Faith is something to be treasured and lived. “Everything is easier alongside Him!” Faith enables us to live alongside God! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! The Five First Saturdays

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 March 6, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! “…Oh, apostles of my love, how much my motherly heart loves you. How many things I desire to teach you. How my motherly heart desires that you be complete…” (March 2, 2018) Our Lady is our Mother. She really is. Jesus gave her to us from the Cross. She is our Mother! Last Saturday (March 3) was First Saturday. The 5 First Saturday devotion is such a blessing. Lucia of Fatima received this request. Here is a very brief description of the devotion: The “Five First Saturdays Devotion.” The Blessed Virgin Mary said she would “assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation,” all those who fulfilled the Five First Saturdays Devotion. There are 4 things you must do -and you must do each of them on the First Saturday of 5 months in a row: 1.Go to Confession 2.Receive Holy Communion 3.Pray 5 Decades of the rosary 4.”Keep her company” for 15 minutes by meditating on the mysteries of the rosary with the intention of offering reparation to her. This is a separate prayer time from praying the rosary, though. This devotion seems so simple, but it becomes a great desire for those who practice it. I received a witness from one of our shipmates about her completion of the Five First Saturdays Devotion just this past weekend: Today I finished my fifth First Saturday Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. No more eternal hell for this kid. How grateful I am… but not grateful enough. I asked the Blessed Mother before going up to Communion today if She would receive Jesus for me and be thankful for me because I know alone I can’t give Him all that He deserves. I knew for certain at that moment that She always has been thankful for me when I could not be. My whole life She has been there. Not a moment have I been alone. When I meditated for 15 minutes on the rosary all I could think of was… Well… First mystery: She said yes for me. Second mystery: She gave thanks for me. Third mystery: She let me kiss Baby Jesus and brought Him over to me. Fourth Mystery: She presented me to the Father. Fifth mystery: She found Jesus for me when I lost Him. She not only was with me during all the suffering in my life but also suffered along with me. She holds me in Her arms. Teaches me to pray to the Holy Spirit. Never did She die and leave me. She is Queen of all of me. And I am Hers forever. Really – I have the thought that She makes everything I offer perfect for Jesus -that way I don’t have to worry about my weakness, I can forget myself and just be radiantly joyful. She connects me to the love between the Father and the Son. I am very much welcomed and a part [of them], forever. Amen Traci Well, who wouldn’t want such graces and fruits as these! Every First Saturday is a great opportunity to draw closer to Our Lady, make reparation to her heart for all the disrespect and faithlessness directed towards her, and meditate on Our Lady’s mysteries. She has always been Our Mother, Mother for each one of us! We are so blessed. In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2018 PS. Great are the works that the Heavenly Father has done in me!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 March 5, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady said to us on March 2: Dear children, great are the works that the Heavenly Father has done in me, as He does in all those who love Him tenderly and who faithfully and devoutly serve Him. My children, the Heavenly Father loves you, and it is through His love that I am here with you. He is speaking to you. Why do you not desire to see the signs? Everything is easier alongside Him. (March 2, 2018) These are the words of the Woman who spoke the “Magnificat” in response to the greeting of Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist! “Great are the works that the Heavenly Father has done in me…” And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. And his mercy is on those who fear him from generation to generation. (Luke 1:46-50 Our Lady is a woman of faith. She saw the signs of the Father’s love at work in her life, and was always in awe at His presence and powerful love for her. She lived in constant awareness of the Father’s nearness and creative work in her life. She was never far from this awareness. And so she understood the message of St. Gabriel to be the Father’s invitation to be the Mother of His Son. And she said ‘yes’ with no hesitation. Now she is calling us to live with that same awareness. “My children, the Heavenly Father loves you, and it is through His love that I am here with you. He is speaking to you. Why do you not desire to see the signs?” Our Lady is amazed that we don’t understand that, like St. Gabriel was sent to her by the Father, so she has been sent to us by the Father. She is the sign we should be recognizing and responding to. She is with us to speak to us in the Father’s name. He speaks to us through Mary in these days. Why? Because He loves us and we need Him! The Father has drawn very near to us in these days of grace, to enact an amazing plan, a plan to deliver us from the evils of our day. He has sent Our Lady to announce this deliverance, and to show us the way. We have only to listen to her and respond. She is the sign. She is teaching us to live alongside the Father. We must need Him desperately, if He sends us Mary. And so let us say ‘yes’ to the Father. Let us listen to his messenger, Mary, and live in His grace and will. If we do we will also see these promises fulfilled: He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts, he has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted those of low degree; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away. He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his posterity forever.” (Luke 1: 51-55) If we “…love Him tenderly and [] faithfully and devoutly serve Him“, we will see Jesus’ Heart win the victory over His enemies, and the Kingdom of the Father will be established on earth. All that once terrified us will vanish, and God’s love with reign over us, like dew from heaven. With faith in the Father we will be able to endure and conquer with Him, in Jesus’ Name and by the power of the Holy Spirit. If we sing our gratitude to the Lord, it will open the way to His victory. He loves His lowly ones, and raises them up! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2018

Our Lady’s March 2, 2018 Message through Mirjana

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 March 2, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady’s message through Mirjana Soldo of March 2nd, 2018: Dear children, great are the works that the Heavenly Father has done in me, as He does in all those who love Him tenderly and who faithfully and devoutly serve Him. My children, the Heavenly Father loves you, and it is through His love that I am here with you. He is speaking to you. Why do you not desire to see the signs? Everything is easier alongside Him. Did my Son not redeem the world through His painful sacrifice? As His mother I was with Him in the pain and suffering, as I am with all of you. My children, I am with you in life, in suffering, in pain, in joy and in love. Therefore, have hope. It is hope that makes you comprehend that life is there. My children, I am speaking to you, my voice is speaking to your soul, my heart is speaking to your heart. Oh, apostles of my love, how much my motherly heart loves you. How many things I desire to teach you. How my motherly heart desires that you be complete, and you can be complete only when your soul, body and love are united within you. I implore you as my children, pray much for the Church and her servants – your shepherds; that the Church may be such as my Son desires – clear as spring water and full of love. Thank you. Our souls tremble with joy!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 March 2, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! Today we anticipate another message from Our Lady through Mirjana. Let’s take a look at the last message we received through Mirjana as we await Our Lady’s coming! This message, February 2, was extraordinary! I feel it was a love letter to us all: Our Lady’s message to Mirjana Soldo of February 2nd, 2018 Dear children, you whom my Son loves, you whom I love with an immeasurable motherly love, do not permit for selfishness, for self-love, to rule the world. Do not permit for love and goodness to be hidden. You who are loved, who have come to know the love of my Son, remember that to be loved means to love. My children, have faith. When you have faith you are happy and are spreading peace; your soul trembles with joy. My Son is in such a soul. When you are giving yourself for the faith, when you are giving yourself for love, when you are doing good to your neighbor, my Son smiles in your soul. Apostles of my love, I am turning to you as a mother. I am gathering you around myself and I desire to lead you on the way of love and faith, on the way which leads to the light of the world. I am here for the sake of love, for the sake of faith, because with my motherly blessing I desire to give you hope and strength on your way – because the way which leads to my Son is not easy. It is full of renunciation, giving, sacrifice, forgiveness and much, much love. But this way leads to peace and happiness. My children, do not believe lying voices which speak to you about false things, false glitter. You, my children, return to the Scripture. I am looking at you with immeasurable love, and through God’s grace am making myself evident to you. My children, set out with me. May your soul tremble with joy. Thank you. I especially like the second paragraph, when she says: “When you have faith you are happy and are spreading peace: your soul trembles with joy!” I wonder if this trembling has something to do with the presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Remember the story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus? After spending the day walking with a stranger (Jesus) they break bread with Him, and He disappears! Then they remember this: “They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24: 32) Jesus’ presence, His words, had a deep effect on their hearts. They burned! Maybe they trembled a bit! Our Lady tells us when we have faith, when we spread peace, our souls tremble with joy! This trembling is probably the effect of the presence of Jesus, of His Spirit, welcomed into our hearts and souls by our faith! Well, we know that when Our Lady comes, many souls tremble with joy in Medjugorje. Let’s anticipate her coming with our hearts on fire, our souls burning with love for her and for her Son, Jesus! What should we carry in our hearts?

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 March 1, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! During the Daily Rosary yesterday, we talked about the things we carry in our hearts. Our Lady has talked about carrying things in our hearts quite often. She has some ideas of what we should be carrying. She also knows the things we should chuck out of our hearts as quickly as possible! Here is a message in which she spoke about clearing our hearts: June 2, 2010 “Dear Children; Today I call you with prayer and fasting to clear the path in which my Son will enter into your hearts. Accept me as a mother and a messenger of God’s love and His desire for your salvation. Free yourself of everything from the past which burdens you, that gives you a sense of guilt, that which previously led you astray in error and darkness. Accept the light. Be born anew in the righteousness of my Son. Thank you.” She wants us to make a clear path for Jesus into our hearts. But our hearts can look like a storage shed or a cluttered basement in which many things have been stored. Things of the past! Burdens like unforgiveness, resentment, rejection and hatred. Guilt which lingers because of our unforgiven sins. Things that we cling to that lead us astray, into more sin. Junk! Clearing out our hearts takes courage. But once we begin it can become wonderful! Confession of course is the answer. At Jesus’ feet in Confession, we can get the help we need to clear away the junk. But once it is clean, what should we carry in our hearts? That was what we discovered during the Daily Rosary. Our Lady has given us several things to carry in our hearts: 1. Carry the Word of God in our hearts! (Read and live Sacred Scripture) August 25, 1996 “Dear children! Listen, because I wish to speak to you and to invite you to have more faith and trust in God, who loves you immeasurably. Little children, you do not know how to live in the grace of God, that is why I call you all anew, to carry the word of God in your heart and in thoughts. Little children, place the Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your family, and read and live it. Teach your children, because if you are not an example to them, children depart into godlessness. Reflect and pray and then God will be born in your heart and your heart will be joyous. Thank you for having for responded to my call.” 2. Carry Peace in your heart! (Peace which comes from putting God in the first place) December 25, 1997 “Dear children! Also today I rejoice with you and I call you to the good. I desire that each of you reflect and carry peace in your heart and say: I want to put God in the first place in my life. In this way, little children, each of you will become holy. Little children, tell everyone, I want the good for you and he will respond with the good and, little children, good will come to dwell in the heart of each man. Little children, tonight I bring to you the good of my Son who gave His life to save you. That is why, little children, rejoice and extend your hands to Jesus who is only good. Thank you for having responded to my call.” 3. Carry the Victory of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in your heart! August 25, 2000 “Dear children! I desire to share my joy with you. In my Immaculate Heart I feel that there are many of those who have drawn closer to me and are, in a special way, carrying the victory of my Immaculate Heart in their hearts by praying and converting. I desire to thank you and to inspire you to work even more for God and His kingdom with love and the power of the Holy Spirit. I am with you and I bless you with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call.” 4. Carry Our Lady’s Joy in your hearts. (Let Jesus be born in your heart – Mary’s Joy!) December 25, 2000 “Dear children! Today when God granted to me that I can be with you, with little Jesus in my arms, I rejoice with you and I give thanks to God for everything He has done in this Jubilee year. I thank God especially for all the vocations of those who said ‘yes’ to God completely. I bless you all with my blessing and the blessing of the newborn Jesus. I pray for all of you for joy to be born in your hearts so that in joy you too carry the joy I have today. In this Child I bring to you the Savior of your hearts and the One who calls you to the holiness of life. Thank you for having responded to my call.” 5. Carry God’s love in your heart! April 25, 2008 “Dear children! Also today, I call all of you to grow in God’s love as a flower which feels the warm rays of spring. In this way, also you, little children, grow in God’s love and carry it to all those who are far from God. Seek God’s will and do good to those whom God has put on your way, and be light and joy. Thank you for having responded to my call.” If our hearts are full of these beautiful things, there will be no room for junk anymore! We will walk in the light of God’s love and bring it to all we meet. No more odious burdens! No more sin and unforgiveness! Only God’s love and His peace and joy. Only the Victory of Our Lady’s heart!! That is what we want to find in our hearts forever! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan ©Mary TV 2018

The Commandments

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 February 28, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! “…I am calling all of you to open yourselves and to live the commandments which God has given you…” (February 25, 2018) Our Lady calls us often to remember the commandments of God. She wants to anchor us firmly in the Word that the Father has given us in the Scriptures. God was so generous to us to give us a simple and yet comprehensive list of commands, so that we could learn what it means to be just, to be good to one another and in right order with Him. It is not a long and complicated list, only 10 things to keep in mind. But somehow we have trouble doing this! Here is the simple list of the Commandments that the Church offers us, taken from Scripture: 1. I am the LORD your God, you shall not have strange Gods before me. 2. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. 3. Remember to keep holy The LORD’S day 4. Honor your father and your mother. 5. You shall not kill. 6. You shall not commit adultery. 7. You shall not steal. 8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. 9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. 10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods. (From Deut. 5) And here is another set of commands that Jesus gave to us in the Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew’s Gospel. This list appears to be very different from the Old Testament commandments. But I think Jesus is giving us the Commandments of His Father as conditions of the heart. He shows how those who observe the Commandments of His Father will actually live, what condition their hearts will be in. All these conditions of the heart lead to the kingdom of Heaven! Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (Mt 5: 1-10) This time of grace we are in is a time to return to the Commandments of God and let them bless us with the truth about the Good. Praying about these Commandments will free us of the foggy thinking of our cultures, and give us clarity for action. We want to be free, like Jesus is free! We want to be full of light. Our Lady wants this for us! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2018

Open yourselves!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 February 27, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open yourselves and to live the commandments which God has given you, that they may lead you through the Sacraments on the way of conversion. The world and worldly temptations are testing you, but you, little children, look at God’s creatures which He has given to you in beauty and humility and, little children, love God above everything and He will lead you on the way of salvation. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (February 25, 2018) “In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to open yourselves…” “In this time of grace….” Lent is a time of grace. The Church has declared that Lent is to be set aside as a time of prayer, fasting and alms giving. It is a time for silence and prayer, a time when we look deeply into our hearts and clean out all that doesn’t belong in them. All attachments and inordinate desires. A time of cleansing and getting back to the basics of the spiritual life. It is also a time of fasting, which draws us ever closer to God through renunciation. And alms giving is the true test of our detachment from material things, of learning to care for others. Yes, Lent is a time of grace! But there is also a sense of timeliness in these days, because Our Lady is with us. Every time she tells us we are in a time of grace, I think about the fact that Mary, the Mother of God, has said so! She is with us for a time. This is that time, and it is indeed a time of grace! “I am calling all of you to open yourselves…” Our Lady often asks us to open ourselves. The phrase can go by unnoticed! But if she says it often, it is because it is important. What are we opening ourselves to? The universe? New ideas? Therapies? No, Our Lady would not ask us to open to such things. She is surely asking us to open ourselves to God. Think of how she did just that at the Annunciation! With perfect presence of mind, in a state of receptivity and thoughtfulness, Our Lady opened herself to the Angel Gabriel, who was bringing her the message of God. That must be what she is getting at. We need to open ourselves to God, to his action in our lives, to His presence, to His love, to His will, His plan for our lives. Jesus wants us to open the doors of our hearts to Him. Jesus said to us in Revelations: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” (Rev 3:20) Jesus wants to come into our hearts in order to commune with us. He wants to be one with us, to give Himself to us, in our hearts, if we open up to Him. This is the opening of ourselves that Our Lady desires. So in this time of grace, Jesus is going to be knocking at the doors of our hearts. If we choose to pray, to be silent and seek the Lord, He will come. But it takes from us an attitude of trust and faith. Again I think of Our Lady at the Annunciation. She trusted God. She was surrendered to Him. Once she heard the invitation and tested it, she immediately said, “Be it done unto me according to your word.” She wants to fill us with her faith and trust so that we will be able to open up to the Lord, hear His knock, respond to His call, and be led by Him into His plan. So, may we all find time to experience this “time of grace”!! May we choose to pray, choose to fast, and empty ourselves through alms giving, so that we will be ready to hear the knock and open the door of our hearts to Jesus, our Savior! Taking some time away!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2018 February 19, 2018 Dear Family of Mary! January 25, 2018 “Dear children! May this time be for you a time of prayer, so that the Holy Spirit, through prayer, may descend upon you and give you conversion. Open your hearts and read the Sacred Scripture, that through the testimonies you also may be closer to God. Above everything, little children, seek God and the things of God and leave earthly ones to the earth, because Satan is attracting you to the dust and sin. You are called to holiness and created for Heaven; therefore, seek Heaven and the things of Heaven. Thank you for having responded to my call.” This message continues to guide be during this Lenten journey that we are on together.  Our Lady gave us the tools to make our Lent a blessed time of renewal.  As usual with her simple words she says great things. Time of Prayer – Lent is a time, 6 weeks, in which we can pray with all our hearts, focused on the sufferings of our Head, Jesus. The Holy Spirit – It is through the Holy Spirit that we received nourishment in prayer, so that we can convert.  Conversion is everything.  Unless our hearts turn to God and away from selfishness, we will not find ourselves in Heaven. Conversion is a gift – We do not manufacture our own conversion.  It is a gift from God, that we open up to.  Just witness the testimony of Fr. Donald Calloway which is showing on Mary TV this week in Fruit of Medjugorje.  He was plucked out of Hell by the gift of conversion that came to him through Mary of Medjugorje. Sacred Scripture has testimonies! – In the Scriptures we here the first testimonies of the first believers!!  We see them responding to the call to conversion through Jesus.  It is a gift to convert! Seek God and leave earthly things – Where do we find peace, joy, healing, reconciliation, hope, love, heaven and eternal life?  Seek God and the things of God! I am not able to keep up with my reflections right now due to a family need.  So I will probably not send reflections until February 25, when I send the next monthly message.  I am sorry I didn’t let you know sooner, but time did not allow.  So thank you all for joining me in reflection on Our Lady of Medjugorje and her messages.  I will continue the reflections starting February 25, 2018! I am praying for all of you as I travel.  Blessings!! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
