News from the Vatican   September 20, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Yesterday, September 19, 2024, the Vatican held a press conference in which the findings of the Vatican Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith on the phenomenon of The Queen of Peace of Medjugorje were shared. Here is the conclusion of that document: 38. Through the Nihil obstat about a spiritual event, the faithful “are authorized to give it their adherence in a prudent manner” (Norms, art. 22, §1; cf. Benedict XVI, Verbum Domini, par. 14). While this does not imply a declaration of the supernatural character of the phenomenon in question (cf. Norms, art. 22, §2)—and recalling that the faithful are not obliged to believe in it—the Nihil obstat indicates that the faithful can receive a positive encouragement for their Christian life through this spiritual proposal, and it authorizes public acts of devotion. Such a determination is possible insofar as many positive fruits have been noted in the midst of a spiritual experience, while negative and dangerous effects have not spread among the People of God. Evaluating the abundant and widespread fruits, which are so beautiful and positive, does not imply that the alleged supernatural events are declared authentic. Instead, it only highlights that the Holy Spirit is acting fruitfully for the good of the faithful “in the midst” of this spiritual phenomenon of Medjugorje. For this reason, all are invited to appreciate and share the pastoral value of this spiritual proposal (cf. Norms, par. 17). Moreover, the positive assessment that most of the messages of Medjugorje are edifying does not imply a declaration that they have a direct supernatural origin. Consequently, when referring to “messages” from Our Lady, one should always bear in mind that they are “alleged messages.” This decision on the part of the Dicastery is very encouraging. Stop and look within yourselves…   September 19, 2024 St. Januarius Dear Family of Mary! In the Gospel for today, Jesus gives a lesson in forgiveness (Luke 7:36-50). There are two people in the story, a Pharisee and a sinful woman. The Pharisee has everything going for him. Prestige, power, and probably money. The woman has only her bad reputation. She has nothing to stand on in society. But we know the story, the woman enters the home of the Pharisee uninvited! She bows at Jesus’ feet, washing them with an expensive ointment mixed with her tears. The Pharisee objects! How can Jesus let her touch him, much less make such a fuss? Jesus answers with a deep lesson: “When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet, but she has bathed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but she has not ceased kissing my feet since the time I entered. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she anointed my feet with ointment. So I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven; hence she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.” (Luke 7:44-47) Jesus’ presence brings out the truth. The woman knew she was nothing, her life, a shame. But she knew Jesus could forgive her. The Pharisee had everything he could want, but did not have self-knowledge. He did not see his own sinfulness. And therefore he could not be forgiven. It is essential to have self-knowledge, to see our sins and own them. There is no way to hide them from God. But in honesty we can bring them to the Lord and be made free!! Our Lady calls us: November 2, 2010 “Dear children; With motherly perseverance and love I am bringing you the light of life to destroy the darkness of death in you. Do not reject me, my children. Stop and look within yourselves and see how sinful you are. Be aware of your sins and pray for forgiveness. My children, you do not desire to accept that you are weak and little, but you can be strong and great by doing God’s will. Give me your cleansed hearts that I may illuminate them with the light of life, my Son. Thank you.” Mother Mary wants us to be free!! She wants us to look honestly at ourselves, own our sins, and take them to Jesus in Confession. It is the only way to peace, healing, and joy! What is there to fear?? Jesus knows our sins already!! Only love is effective; it works miracles.   September 18, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Today’s Gospel talks about love!! This is my favorite subject!! Jesus describes what love is in 1 Corinthians 13! And His description is just amazing!! “Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.” (1Cor 13: 4-8) And in this message, Our Lady gives us her description of love! It is also amazing. Mother and Son are experts at love!! Here it is: “Dear children, Today, with my motherly heart, I call you gathered around me to love your neighbor. My children, stop. Look in the eyes of your brother and see Jesus, my Son. If you see joy, rejoice with him. If there is pain in the eyes of your brother, with your tenderness and goodness, cast it away, because without love you are lost. Only love is effective; it works miracles. Love will give you unity in my Son and the victory of my heart. Therefore, my children, love.” (September 2, 2008) Let’s make Love our aim! Our lives will be filled with joy and courage if we do!! Our Lady’s Apparition to Ivan on 09/14/24   September 16, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Mary TV was able to stream the prayer gathering in Ivan Dragicevic’s Chapel in Medjugorje! It was a beautiful time of prayer. Fr. Dermot Roach lead the Rosary, and then Our Lady came to Ivan! At the end, Ivan gave a summary of his encounter with Our Lady which we have transcribed: Ivan’s Rosary and Apparition – 09/14/24 September 14, 2024 Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross After Our Lady’s apparition Ivan welcomed us all: Once again, I would like to greet all of you present here, our dear priests and all of you who are with us today through the internet. I am not going to keep you very long here, because the evening prayer program will start very soon. I would like to share with you what’s most important from this evening’s encounter with Our Lady. Our Lady was very joyful and very happy when she appeared. She greeted all of us with her motherly greeting words, ‘Praised be Jesus my deer children!’ She looked at all of us, she extended her hands, and she prayed over all of us in her Aramaic language. She prayed especially over all of you who are sick, and then she prayed over all the priests. Our Lady prayed also for those who take part in the evening prayer program on the church grounds. Our Lady spent some time in prayer for peace. She blessed us all with her motherly blessing and she blessed all the religious articles that you brought for blessing. As I always do, this evening again I recommended all of you, all of your needs, your intentions, your families. During every encounter with Our Lady there is a part that is a private conversation between the Blessed Mother and myself, and most of the time it is the part that I am not sharing with everybody. So after this private conversation Our Lady kept praying over all of us. And she left in prayer in the sign of the light and the cross, with the words, “Go in peace my dear children!” Well, I try to emphasize what’s most important from this evening’s encounter. And I would like to remind you once again that Our Lady prayed especially this evening for peace, as she does recently in every apparition. During all our future zoom and internet meetings we are going to pray for Our Lady’s intentions, it is her desire and her call so that her plans may be accomplished. For all of you who were praying with us this evening through the internet, we are going to meet again on September 21st at the same time [4:40pm Medjugorje time, 11:40am ET in the US]. I would like to ask Father to come forward to bless us all and to bless the religious articles as well…. God is giving you a great opportunity to convert…   September 13, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! In today’s Gospel reading at Mass, Jesus asks this question: “Can a blind man guide a blind man? Will not both fall into a pit?” (Lk 6:39) It seems that spiritual blindness is a grave danger in our lives. We may think we see with the eyes of faith, that we see as Jesus sees. But do we? Our Lady gave us this message below to challenge us to a true conversion of heart, so that we will begin to see with the eyes of faith: October 25, 2006 “Dear children! Today the Lord permitted me to tell you again that you live in a time of grace. You are not conscious, little children, that God is giving you a great opportunity to convert and to live in peace and love. You are so blind and attached to earthly things and think of earthly life. God sent me to lead you toward eternal life. I, little children, am not tired, although I see that your hearts are heavy and tired for everything that is a grace and a gift. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Let’s take this message to prayer this weekend. There are some good questions to ask ourselves. May we allow the Holy Spirit to move in our hearts, shining His light on the hidden things in our souls that need attention. We may need to go to confession to receive healing from some blindness we have in terms of living in God’s peace or the false peace of the world! The Most Holy Name of Mary   September 12, 2024 The Most Holy Name of Mary Dear Family of Mary! Today is a very special holy day!! The Most Holy Name of Mary!! (Optional Memorial) But it is not optional for us!! The Most Holy Name of Mary is an incredible gift that has been given to us for our protection, our healing, our guidance, and our sanctification. All salvation history turned on the Name of Mary, spoken by the Angel Gabriel. Here is an explanation from the Magnificat, September, ’24 page 155: Saint Louis de Montfort wrote that “The salvation of each individual is bound up with the Hail Mary.” Why? Because it was when the Archangel greeted Mary that our Savior became flesh in her womb. To be Christian is to carry on that Annunciation by repeating the Hail Mary. This prayer, which speaks the Holy Name of the Mother of God, “Brought to a dry and barren world the Fruit of Life. It will cause the Word of God to take root in the soul and bring forth Jesus.” The Holy Name of Mary bears such power because of the unique bond between Mother and Son. “When God sent his Son born of a woman, He instituted a once-and-for-all order of salvation in which the union of Mother and Child stands at the center” (Fr. Romanus Cessario, O.P.). To accept the privilege of speaking the Name of Mary is to participate in that saving union. We are in a spiritual battle in our day which has never been seen in history. The entire world is engulfed in a struggle. It is a struggle that the enemy of our souls has designed to take as many souls as possible into hell with him. And into this battle, the Father has sent Our Lady, Mary! She is with us now continually in Medjugorje, and in our hearts all over the world. We must call upon Her, speak Her Name in our hearts and minds, in our prayers and even our conversations, so that we are surrounded by Her Name! Today, let’s pray this powerful Litany of the Holy Name of Mary! May we be strengthened, delivered, and enlightened by our Mother’s Name! Mary!!!! Live the words of my Son.   September 10, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Our Gospel for today is St. Luke’s account of the Beatitudes. It is a demanding and startling list of what makes for holiness. Jesus spoke so clearly about what makes for holiness in this broken world. Take in His words as if you were hearing them for the first time. Luke 6:20-26 Raising his eyes toward his disciples Jesus said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for the Kingdom of God is yours. Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who are now weeping, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude and insult you, and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man. “Rejoice and leap for joy on that day! Behold, your reward will be great in heaven. For their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way. But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. But woe to you who are filled now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will grieve and weep. Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false ­prophets in this way.” The Gospel of the Lord. Our Lady gave a powerful message through Mirjana in 2016. She spoke very strongly herself, about Jesus and His words and teachings. She give us good advice, in how to follow the teachings of Jesus! Thank you, Mother, for helping us to follow your Son! January 2, 2016 “Dear children, as a mother, I am joyful to be among you because I desire to speak anew about the words of my Son and of His love. I hope that you will accept me with the heart, because the words of my Son and His love are the only light and hope in the darkness of today. This is the only truth and you who will accept and live it will have pure and humble hearts. My Son loves those who are pure and humble. Pure and humble hearts bring to life the words of my Son, they live them, they spread them and they make it possible for everyone to hear them. The words of my Son bring back life to those who listen to them. The words of my Son bring back love and hope. Therefore, my beloved apostles, my children, live the words of my Son. Love each other as He loved you. Love each other in His name, in memory of Him. The Church is advancing and growing because of those who listen to the words of my Son; because of those who love; because of those who suffer and endure in silence and in the hope of final redemption. I desire to see your faces transformed in prayer.   September 10, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! In the Gospel for today, the first line tells us something about Jesus: “Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and He spent the night in prayer to God…” (Lk 6:12) Jesus spent hours and hours in prayer it seems. Prayer was as important for Him as breathing! It was His time with the Father in prayer that gave Jesus the strength to preach, teach and heal the thousands of people He encountered in His public ministry. To Jesus, prayer was life. And I believe it was the same for Mother Mary! She calls us to prayer, over and over again. And she never tires of it!! The recent novena on Apparition Hill before the 43td Anniversary, with Marija and Ivan, is one example of Our Lady’s desire to move us to pray. She called for prayer from 10:00 pm to 11:30 pm each night, and she appeared at 11:30! But the prayer began to overflow those limits and the people prayed and prayed and prayed!! The energy was tangible!! Prayer is of the essence. Here is a message from Our Lady that carries that same energy and drive to pray: February 25, 2020 “Dear children! In this time of grace, I desire to see your faces transformed in prayer. You are so flooded by earthly concerns, you do not even feel that spring is at the threshold. You are called, little children, to penance and prayer. As nature fights in silence for new life, also you are called to open yourselves in prayer to God, in Whom you will find peace and the warmth of the spring sun in your hearts. Thank you for having responded to my call.” May our faces be transformed in prayer!!
