Jesus said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”   January 23, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! In our Gospel for today, Jesus says something surprising! Here it is: “The Mother of Jesus and his brothers arrived at the house. Standing outside, they sent word to Jesus and called him. A crowd seated around him told him, ‘Your mother and your brothers and your sisters are outside asking for you.’ But he said to them in reply, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.’” (Mark 3:31-35) “Who are my mother and my brothers?” This question is asked even today. Jesus is looking for those who will do the will of God, those who will put God’s ways above their own ways, who will live each moment in the presence of the Holy Spirit who will guide them into the ways of love, the ways of holiness. The will of God does not only include the big choices in life, our career, our state in life, etc. But it also involves the way we live in our circumstances today. How we become love and hope for those around us. Our Lady spoke about living the the will of God in this message: April 25, 1990  “Dear children! Today I invite you to accept with seriousness and to live the messages which I am giving you. I am with you and I desire, dear children, that each one of you be ever closer to my heart. Therefore, little children, pray and seek the will of God in your everyday life. I desire that each one of you discover the way of holiness and grow in it until eternity. I will pray for you and intercede for you before God that you understand the greatness of this gift which God is giving me that I can be with you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady is showing us that we can live the will of God in our everyday life! She will help us to discern how to live in our families, our work places, our schools, with the Heart of God as our driving force! She will help us to discover the way of Holiness in each situation. And in doing that we will be living the will of God!! That means we will be brothers and sisters and mothers to Jesus! Our Lady is with us to accomplish this. Ask the Lord for the Gift of faith!   January 22, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! It has been put on my heart that what I should be praying for these days is the Gift of Faith to fall on as many people as possible. The Gift of Faith! It is fundamental to our conversion. It really is conversion, that moment when the Truth smacks us in the face, and we realize there is a God, and that He has been revealed to us by Jesus Christ! Faith is such precious gift, such a pearl of great price! Our Lady has been calling to us to pray for the Gift of Faith, throughout her time with us in Medjugorje. Here is one such message from December 25, 2017 through Jakov: “Dear children, Today, on this day of grace, I am calling you to ask the Lord for the gift of faith. My children, decide for God and begin to live and to believe in what God is calling you to. To believe, my children, means to surrender your lives into God’s hands – the hands of the Lord who created you and who loves you immeasurably. Do not be believers only in words but live and witness your faith through works and through your personal example. Speak with God as with your Father. Open and surrender your hearts to Him and you will see how your hearts are changing and how you will marvel at God’s works in your life. My children, there is no life without God and that is why, as your mother, I intercede before, and pray to, my Son to renew your hearts and to fill your life with immeasurable love. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (December 25, 2017- Jakov) May we be awakened to the gift of Faith! May we begin to believe in God’s call to our lives! May we surrender our lives into God’s hands because we believe! May our faith, our belief manifest itself in works of love! The joy of the gift of life!   January 19, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Today, in the United States, we are praying for a change in our country. We are praying for an end to abortion, and a renewal of the sanctity of life at every stage. In honor of this day, I want to share with you a message from Our Lady, and a prayer for life written by the Sisters of Life, a wonderful new community founded to help create a culture of life in our country. May Our Lady, Queen of Peace, intercede for us, that we can become People of Life! Our Lady said to us: November 25, 2005 “Dear children! Also today I call you to pray, pray, pray until prayer becomes life for you. Little children, at this time, in a special way, I pray before God to give you the gift of faith. Only in faith will you discover the joy of the gift of life that God has given you. Your heart will be joyful thinking of eternity. I am with you and love you with a tender love. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady shows us the way to receiving the joy of the gift of life! This is what our nation, and all nations need! The powerful and fundamental gift of faith leads us to fall in love with life, our own life and the lives of all our brothers and sister, born or not yet born. Let’s pray with the Sisters of Life: Eternal Father, Source of life, open our hearts to see and desire the beauty of your plan for life and love. Fill us with your Holy Spirit so that our love will be generous and self-giving and we may be blessed with joy. Grant us great trust in your mercy. Forgive us for not receiving your gift of life and heal us from the effects of the culture of death. Instill in us and in all people a sense of the sacredness of every human life. Inspire our efforts to protect and care for the most vulnerable; especially women who are pregnant and their unborn children, the sick, and the elderly. Strengthen us in the hope that with you nothing is impossible. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who by his Cross makes all things new. Amen. Try to feel how much I love you…   January 18, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! May 2, 2015  “Dear children, open your hearts and try to feel how much I love you and how much I desire for you to love my Son. I desire for you to come to know Him all the better, because it is impossible to know Him and not to love Him – because He is love. I, my children, know you. I know your pain and suffering because I lived through them. I laugh with you in your joy and I cry with you in your pain. I will never leave you. I will always speak to you with motherly tenderness. And I, as a mother, need your open hearts to spread the love of my Son with wisdom and simplicity. I need you to be open and sensitive to the good and mercy. I need you to be united with my Son, because I desire for you to be happy and to help me to bring happiness to all of my children. My apostles, I need you to show everyone the truth of God, so that my heart, which suffered and today suffers so much pain, can win in love. Radiance!   January 17, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! I want to talk about a word that Our Lady has used only 4 or 5 times in her messages, but which always leaves a deep impression upon me. The word is “Radiance”. Here is one example of Our Lady using this word: January 25, 2014 “Dear children! Pray, pray, pray for the radiance of your prayer to have an influence on those whom you meet. Put the Sacred Scripture in a visible place in your families and read it, so that the words of peace may begin to flow in your hearts. I am praying with you and for you, little children, that from day to day you may become still more open to God’s will. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady speaks about the radiance of our prayer. She asks us to pray, pray, pray, for the radiance of our prayer to have an influence on those whom we meet. What do you suppose she means? Well, here is a scripture from the Old Testament in which radiance is mentioned; Exodus 34:29-35 – The Radiant Face of Moses “29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. 30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 But Moses called to them; so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and he spoke to them. 32 Afterward all the Israelites came near him, and he gave them all the commands the Lord had given him on Mount Sinai. 33 When Moses finished speaking to them, he put a veil over his face. 34 But whenever he entered the Lord’s presence to speak with him, he removed the veil until he came out. And when he came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, 35 they saw that his face was radiant. Then Moses would put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with the Lord.” I always marveled at this account of the radiance of Moses’ face! It had to have been the result of his skin being washed with the powerful rays of the Father’s face when they spoke together. Moses was irradiated!! This glow was a sign to the people that God had visited them through Moses. It was a powerful sign! Maybe that is what Our Lady is getting at in the message from January 25, 2014. “Dear children! Pray, pray, pray for the radiance of your prayer to have an influence on those whom you meet.” If we are really encountering the Lord, we will look different afterwards. It may not be a radiation of our skin, but maybe it will be the peace on our faces and the light coming from our eyes. God’s light and love do wash over us in prayer!! Here are two more messages in which Our Lady referenced “radiance”. Let’s prayerfully read and study them to understand more of what she means by radiance. I think it is significant. There are accounts of the saints who radiated light and peace as they were being martyred. It is really something to think about! September 25, 2014 “Dear children! Also today I call you to also be like the stars, which by their light give light and beauty to others so they may rejoice. Little children, also you be the radiance, beauty, joy and peace – and especially prayer – for all those who are far from my love and the love of my Son Jesus. Little children, witness your faith and prayer in joy, in the joy of faith that is in your hearts; and pray for peace, which is a precious gift from God. Thank you for having responded to my call.” February 2, 2019 …”As a mother I am saying to you: set out with me, love one another, and give witness. Do not be afraid, with your example, to defend the truth – the Word of God, which is eternal and never changes. My children, whoever acts in the light of merciful love and truth is always helped by Heaven and is not alone. Apostles of my love, may you always be recognized among all others by your hiddenness, love and radiance. I am with you. Adore Him Alone!!!   January 16, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Our message for today speaks the truth very strongly. Our Lady was very serious on the day she gave it to us. And she remains serious. There is much at stake in our time. And we are so very fortunate to have been called by Mother Mary in this time, to be her children. Take time with this message and let the Holy Spirit bring light into your mind and heart through Our Lady’s words. She is speaking the Truth! September 2, 2011 “Dear children; With all my heart and soul full of faith and love in the Heavenly Father, I gave my Son to you and am giving Him to you anew. My Son has brought you, the people of the entire world, to know the only true God and His love. He has led you on the way of truth and made you brothers and sisters. Therefore, my children, do not wander, do not close your heart before that truth, hope and love. Everything around you is passing and everything is falling apart, only the glory of God remains. Therefore, renounce everything that distances you from the Lord. Adore Him alone, because He is the only true God. I am with you and I will remain with you. I am especially praying for the shepherds that they may be worthy representatives of my Son and may lead you with love on the way of truth. Pray to the Holy Spirit for Jesus to be impressed within you!   January 15, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! I have one message for us today. It is a difficult one, in that Our Lady calls us to live a life of witness, a life in which we present Jesus to a world in turmoil. She has a job for us, and she really needs us to do it! Let’s prayerfully respond to her words with generous hearts: March 2, 2012 “Dear children; Through the immeasurable love of God I am coming among you and I am persistently calling you into the arms of my Son. With a motherly heart I am imploring you, my children, but I am also repeatedly warning you, that concern for those who have not come to know my Son be in the first place for you. Do not permit that by looking at you and your life, they are not overcome by a desire to come to know Him. Pray to the Holy Spirit for my Son to be impressed within you. Pray that you can be apostles of the divine light in this time of darkness and hopelessness. This is a time of your trial. With a rosary in hand and love in the heart set out with me. I am leading you towards Easter in my Son. Pray for those whom my Son has chosen that they can always live through Him and in Him, the High Priest. When Jesus saw their faith…   January 12, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! In today’s gospel reading, Jesus is in Capernaum, in His home. Everyone finds out, and they fill the house and the area around the house, hoping to see and hear Him. Then four men carry a paralytic to the house, and finding they cannot get in, they go to the roof and break it open and let the man down by ropes. Wow! That is a big effort, a desperate effort of love for their friend. Then it says, “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to him, ‘Child, your sins are forgiven.’” Jesus saw the faith of the four men who lowered the paralytic down before Him. And that faith was what opened the way for the healing that followed. Faith is essential for us! Faith opens the way for hope and love! Faith guides our actions by helping us choose God’s ways and not our own. If the men who carried the paralytic had not had deep faith in Jesus’ power to heal, they would never have done such a desperate deed!! Our Lady wants us to have that kind of faith: August 25, 2002 “Dear children! Also today I am with you in prayer so that God gives you an even stronger faith. Little children, your faith is small and you are not even aware of how much, despite this, you are not ready to seek the gift of faith from God. That is why I am with you, little children, to help you comprehend my messages and put them into life. Pray, pray, pray and only in faith and through prayer your soul will find peace and the world will find joy to be with God. Thank you for having responded to my call.” We need to seek the gift of Faith from God!!! We need to ask for a deeper Faith every morning when we get up. Witness Courageously! The Peace March in Medjugorje   January 11, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Today we are going to learn about courage from Our Lady! We face in our day many challenging situations. But Our Lady does not want us to be wimps!!!! She needs us to be courageous even as she was courageous so many times in her earthly life. Think of the Flight into Egypt. Herod was set on killing little Jesus, and she had no army to defend her. Joseph led the way, leading the donkey carrying her and little Jesus all the way to Egypt. No one knew them there. They were aliens. And the enemy did not give up the chase. Think of the courage it took to live every day as refugees. Mother Mary developed deep courage. Why? Because she knew the love of God was stronger than any difficulty. She wants us to develop this same courage. Listen to this message: June 2, 2015  “Dear children, I desire to work through you, my children, my apostles, so that, in the end, I may gather all my children there where everything is prepared for your happiness. I am praying for you, that through works you can convert others, because the time has come for acts of truth, for my Son. My love will work in you – I will make use of you. Have trust in me, because everything that I desire, I desire for your good, the eternal good created by the Heavenly Father. You, my children, my apostles, are living an earthly life in union with my children who have not come to know the love of my Son, who do not call me ‘mother’ – but do not be afraid to witness Truth. If you are not afraid and witness courageously, the truth will miraculously win, but remember, strength is in love. My children, love is repentance, forgiveness, prayer, sacrifice and mercy. If you will know how to love, by your works you will convert others, you will enable the light of my Son to penetrate into souls. Thank you. Pray for your shepherds. They belong to my Son. He called them. Pray that they may always have the strength and the courage to shine with the light of my Son.” In order to respond to Our Lady’s call, we must have courage!! We must have strong hearts that impel us into action out of love!! That is courage! Strong hearts full of love. Pray, pray, pray, for God to strengthen our hearts and fill them with His love!! Only humility can heal you!!!   January 10, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady gives us a good talking to in this message. She doesn’t want us stumbling along without knowing the truth about life. Like a good mother, she speaks the truth to us, boldly and with great love. I think this message will help us as we set out on this New Year, 2024. We need to set out on the way of humility!!! July 2, 2014  “Dear children, I, the mother of all of you gathered here and the mother of the entire world, am blessing you with a motherly blessing and call you to set out on the way of humility. That way leads to the coming to know the love of my Son. My Son is almighty, He is in everything. If you, my children, do not become cognizant of this, then darkness/blindness rule in your soul. Only humility can heal you. My children, I always lived humbly, courageously and in hope. I knew, I became cognizant that God is in us and we are in God. I am asking the same of you. I desire for all of you to be with me in eternity, because you are a part of me. I will help you on your way. My love will envelop you like a mantle and make of you apostles of my light – of God’s light. With the love that comes forth from humility you will bring light to where darkness/blindness rule. You will be bringing my Son who is the light of the world. I am always alongside your shepherds and I pray that they may always be an example of humility for you… Thank you.” Our Lady tells us that of we do not understand that Jesus is almighty, that Jesus is everything, then “darkness and blindness rule in your soul.” These words are frightening. But they are true. We can not see the truth or the light until we acknowledge in our hearts that Jesus is Lord!! Jesus is almighty and is in everything!! This is conversion! She constantly wants us to convert. We must start every day by converting anew. When we wake up, we can say, “Jesus is Lord! I love you Jesus!” That is conversion. She also tells us we need to love “with the love that comes forth from humility…”! I never realized the connection between humility and love! But it is true. If we are humble (that is if we realize that we are not God, and are merely his creatures, and that all we have that is good has come from the Lord…) then we will be able to love others. We love others because we see them as we are, small and dependent upon God. And we want to be of some help to them. They are God’s children, as are we!! All together we can follow Jesus into paradise! May we convert everyday in humility and then understand that love comes forth from humility so that we can bring light to others through that humble love! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
