Now is the Acceptable Time!!   February 14, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! “Brothers and sisters: We are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him. Working together, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For he says: In an acceptable time I heard you, and on the day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2Cor. 5:20-6:2) This is Ash Wednesday, 2024! We have arrived at a very important time of grace that the Church offers to us. We can take these weeks ahead as an opportunity to put aside our worldly desires and focus on God’s desires for us! What a lovely opportunity!! Our Lady told us: February 25, 2007 “Dear children! Open your heart to God’s mercy in this Lenten time. The heavenly Father desires to deliver each of you from the slavery of sin. Therefore, little children, make good use of this time and through meeting with God in confession, leave sin and decide for holiness. Do this out of love for Jesus, who redeemed you all with his blood, that you may be happy and in peace. Do not forget, little children: your freedom is your weakness, therefore follow my messages with seriousness. Thank you for having responded to my call.” What a loving God we have. He takes us so seriously! He wants us to have a good long time to be healed of our sins and washed clean of all our failures and faults. He loves us. And so He provides this season of Lent as a prolonged time of healing for our souls. Let’s not waste a second of it. Now is the acceptable time! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Pray to the Holy Spirit… February 13, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! In her last message Our Lady told us: “Dear Children! May this time be a time of prayer.” (January 25, 2024) I am so glad she spoke these words to us on that day. As we have been trying to live these words, it seems that our prayer has changed! Our prayer is growing in so many ways. But I think one of the most powerful ways it is changing is that we are now calling on the Holy Spirit much more often. I am so happy that we are calling on the Holy Spirit in our personal prayer times! This is so powerful! Let’s keep this practice of calling on the dear Holy Spirit whenever we enter into prayer, and even when we are working or studying or in a conversation! In this message for today, Our Lady advises us to “Pray to the Holy Spirit…” for specific help in our lives today: April 25, 2015 “Dear children! I am with you also today to lead you to salvation. Your soul is restless because your spirit is weak and tired from all worldly things. You, little children, pray to the Holy Spirit that He may transform you and fill you with His strength of faith and hope, so that you may be firm in this battle against evil. I am with you and intercede for you before my Son Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call…” Our Lady tells us to pray to the Holy Spirit so that He may transform us and fill us with His strength of faith and hope!! Truly this is the job of the Holy Spirit. He transformed the Apostles in just this way. They were huddled in the Upper Room after Jesus’ death on the Cross. They were terrified that the same end awaited them. They didn’t know what to do! Until Pentecost happened!! The Holy Spirit fell upon them and they were set on fire with zeal for the Gospel. They were changed forever. They won the battle against evil in their day, through their incredible witness of Jesus. We are entering Lent tomorrow, and we might see this as our time in the Upper Room, waiting for the Holy Spirit to fall upon us, to make us true apostles of the Good News of Jesus! Pray to the Holy Spirit…   February 12, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear Children! May this time be a time of prayer.” (January 25, 2024) This is a time of prayer, as Our Lady told us!! And now that we are about to enter the Season of Lent, it is even more expedient to make this a time of prayer!! Here is another message from Our Lady about personal prayer. I find these messages very encouraging and helpful! Mother Mary knows all about prayer!! May 25, 2003 “Dear children! Also today I call you to prayer. Renew your personal prayer, and in a special way pray to the Holy Spirit to help you pray with the heart. I intercede for all of you, little children, and call all of you to conversion. If you convert, all those around you will also be renewed and prayer will be a joy for them. Thank you for having responded to my call.” I must admit that I often forget to ask the Holy Spirit to help me to pray!! In my personal prayer, I somehow feel like I need to go it alone. But of course that attitude gets me no where!! We cannot even call Jesus our Lord without the help of the Holy Spirit!! Today I intend to invoke the Holy Spirit at the beginning of my personal prayer, and when I begin the Rosary, and when I go to Holy Mass! Just think of the possibilities. “Dear Holy Spirit! Please come to me right now. Cover me with your protection and light. Help me to pray with my heart right now, to speak to Jesus with all of my heart, to honor the Father with all of my heart, and to thank you for your protection and help, with all of my heart. Find a corner for personal prayer! February 9, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear Children! May this time be a time of prayer.” (January 25, 2024) Our Lady wants our prayer to be a true encounter with the Lord. And so in many of her messages she has given us instructions for our prayer. She has often encouraged us to have personal prayer times with the Lord! She loves the idea of personal prayer!! Remember that Our Lady prayed personal prayer too! Read Luke 1:26-38! It is the Annunciation. Our Lady was alone in prayer with God, and the Lord sent the Angel Gabriel to announce the good news to Mary that she was chosen to be the Mother of God! That is powerful personal prayer!! But we too are called to powerful personal prayer! It is our lifeline with God! We need to make our personal prayer a daily priority! She told us: July 25, 1997 “Dear children! Today I invite you to respond to my call to prayer. I desire, dear children, that during this time you find a corner for personal prayer. I desire to lead you towards prayer with the heart. Only in this way will you comprehend that your life is empty without prayer. You will discover the meaning of your life when you discover God in prayer. That is why, little children, open the door of your heart and you will comprehend that prayer is joy without which you cannot live. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady discovered the meaning of her life during her personal prayer! She was called to be the Mother of Jesus! If she had not had a deep relationship with the Father through prayer, He could never have prepared her for such a task! We need to be prepared and nurtured for our heavenly callings as well! “You will discover the meaning of your life when you discover God in prayer!” In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! Approach Him through your personal prayer… February 8, 2024 St. Jerome Emiliani St. Josephine Bakhita Dear Family of Mary! Here is a message that will help us to refocus our prayer. It is important to be vigilant in our prayer, not letting our desire for God wane. Personal prayer is at the heart of our relationship with the Lord. It should be a very high priority in our lives! Our Lady has told us: February 25, 1991 “Dear children! Today, I invite you to decide for God, because distance from God is the fruit of the lack of peace in your hearts. God is only peace. Therefore, approach Him through your personal prayer and then live peace in your hearts and in this way peace will flow from your hearts like a river into the whole world. Do not talk about peace, but make peace. I am blessing each of you and each good decision of yours. Thank you for having responded to my call.” I will continue to share a message each day in which Our Lady gives us advice about prayer! “Dear Children, may this time be a time of prayer!” February 7, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! May this time be a time of prayer…” (January 25, 2024) Let’s pray this litany to Our Lady, in thanksgiving for her constant presence with us in Medjugorje since June 24, 1981! She is the Seat of Wisdom, the Cause of our Joy!!! Yes, Mother, we will make this time a time of prayer!!! The Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ hear us. Christ, graciously hear us. God the Father of heaven, Have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the world, Have mercy on us. You should do everything out of love…   February 6, 2024 St. Paul Miki and companions Dear Family of Mary! Here is a message in which Our Lady asked us not to put limits on God’s grace, and not to measure our relationship with God. Instead she asked us to do everything out of love!! Everything!! No bartering or measuring in terms of grace!! God is total love for us. And we need to strive to be total love for God!! Saturday, March 9, 1985 “You can receive a grace immediately, or in a month, or in ten years. I do not need a hundred or two hundred Our Father’s. It is better to pray only one, but with a desire to encounter God. You should do everything out of love. Accept all annoyances, all difficulties, everything, with love. Dedicate yourselves to love.” You see, she said it so simply! If you ask for a grace, don’t count the hours or days until it is granted. Remain in peace and believe!! Rest your body and spirit, may they be in God’s love…   February 5, 2024 St. Agatha Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady told us on January 25. 2024: “May this time be a time of prayer.” When Our Lady gives us a short message, we know that we need to pay attention to each word. It is important to live those few words well. When we pray, we are approaching God. We are turning our hearts towards Him, and desiring to speak with Him. But if we are nervous or worked up about something it can be hard to enter into prayer. We can pray with intensity, but without the ability to listen to God when He desires to respond to our prayer. Our Lady teaches us how to pray in her messages. She knows that we need encouragement in prayer. One piece of advice she has given is to approach God in peace, in a position of rest. We have to have peaceful surrender and trust in God’s presence, and rest is a manifestation of that surrender and trust. Here are 5 messages in which Our Lady speaks about rest. May they help us all to grow in our resting posture with the Lord. He is our Good God!! We are His little children! Thursday, November 26, 1981 This evening, the Blessed Virgin was smiling. We prayed and sang with her. We asked her questions about the sick. “Have a strong faith, pray and fast and they will be cured. Be confident and rest in joy. Go in the peace of God. Be patient and pray for the cure. Goodbye, my dear angels.” July 25, 2001 “Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you to come even closer to God through your personal prayer. Make good use of the time of rest and give your soul and your eyes rest in God. Find peace in nature and you will discover God the Creator Whom you will be able to give thanks to for all creatures; then you will find joy in your heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 25, 2006 “Dear children! At this time, do not only think of rest for your body but, little children, seek time also for the soul. In silence may the Holy Spirit speak to you and permit Him to convert and change you. I am with you and before God I intercede for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 25, 2008 “Dear children! At this time when you are thinking of physical rest, I call you to conversion. Pray and work so that your heart yearns for God the Creator who is the true rest of your soul and your body. May He reveal His face to you and may He give you His peace. I am with you and intercede before God for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 25, 2011 “Dear children! May this time be for you a time of prayer and silence. Rest your body and spirit, may they be in God’s love… Permit me, little children, to lead you, open your hearts to the Holy Spirit so that all the good that is in you may blossom and bear fruit one hundred fold. Happy Feast of the Presentation of the Lord   February 2, 2024 Feast of the Presentation of the Lord!! Dear Family of Mary! Happy Feast of the Presentation of the Lord!! We love Baby Jesus so much! May we keep Him close to us all day today, just as Simeon and Anna did on that day so many years ago! Jesus, we love you!!!! I am very grateful that many people have responded to my reflection for yesterday! It really is good news to find out how very present our guardian angels are to us! We are not alone. I received a special response from our dear priest, Fr. Raymond Donahue. He confirmed what I had discovered from Padre Pio. So I would like to share with all of you what he wrote to me!! From Fr. Raymond Donahue: I am so excited for Cathy and all!! I have visited San Giovani Rotundo so many times when I am on Pilgrimage in Medjugorje and the pilgrims are in awe. I have been blessed to celebrate Holy Mass many times there at the Holy Altar where Padre Pio celebrated His Masses and his last Holy Mass just before he died. I got to be friends with the monks and friars there, including the one who took such good care of Padre Pio before his death. He and I became good friends. He brought out to me the bandage that covered Padre Pio’s hand after Padre Pio took it off for the last time just hours before he died, and the bleeding had stopped. He let me bless all my pilgrims with that bandage that Padre Pio entrusted to him, and he also brought out Padre Pio’s Breviary and let me bless the pilgrims in my group with that Holy Breviary also. As you know, my Guardian Angel’s name is George! I pray to my Guardian Angel George every day and call on Him perpetually! He has helped me in so many ways, assisting me and directing me and keeping me free from so much hard and evil. He was with me always during any exorcisms I preformed and He never leaves me. He revealed His Name to me when I needed great help. I call on Him and thank him continually every single day and I feel His holy love and Presence! I am so happy for Cathy. Padre Pio plays a very important part in my life. Would that these things be told and preached in Church, in Retreats, Homilies at Holy Mass, and in discussions. God bless you one and all. Ray knows how important it is to be in close communication with our Guardian Angel. He was an exorcist for many years. He knows the battle we are in. And he knows that our angels battle with us, especially if we include them! Speak to your Guardian Angel!! Stay close to him and see the miracles that will happen!! (Fr. Ray said if we ask in good faith for the Lord to reveal our guardian angel’s name, God will do that. Fr. Ray believes it is is ok to ask the Lord for the name of your angel. (Our Lady being escorted to Heaven by her angels!!) Have great devotion to the good angel!   February 1, 2024 Dear Family of Mary! Denis and I have been reading a biography of Padre Pio. And yesterday we came across this extraordinary advice that Padre Pio wrote to one of his spiritual daughters, Anita Rodote, in 1915. As I read Padre Pio’s words I was just filled with joy and elation! At last I was able to understand the immense gift each one of us receives at conception! We are given our very own Guardian Angel for life!! I want to share the advice Padre Pio gave to Anita. I am sure it will ignite the same joy in your hearts. Padre Pio wrote: “Have great devotion…to this good angel. How consoling it is to know that near us is a spirit who, from cradle to the tomb, does not leave us even for an instant, not even when we dare to sin. And this heavenly spirit guides us and protects us as a friend, a brother. But it is extremely consoling to know that this angel prays without ceasing for us; offers to God all our good actions, our thoughts, our desires, if they are pure. Do not forget this invisible companion, always present, always ready to listen to us and even more, ready to console us…Always keep him present to your mind’s eye. Often remember the presence of this angel. Thank him, pray to him, keep him good company. Open yourself up to him and confide your suffering to him. Have a constant fear of offending the purity of his gaze…Turn to him in times of supreme anxiety and you will experience beneficial help. Never say that you are alone in sustaining the battle against our enemies. Never say you have nobody to whom you can open up and confide. You would do this heavenly messenger a grace wrong.” Padre Pio to Anita Rodote – (From Padre Pio, The True Story. C Bernard Ruffin. Our Sunday Visitor, 2018. P. 357) After I read these words, I immediately went into prayer! I asked my Guardian Angel to forgive me for not understanding who he is or how very much I owe him for being with me all these years. I spent some time just repenting, and then asked if I could know his name. I think I was given the answer, and it is wonderful! Now I am spending my day, in the presence of my dear friend from Heaven, and I feel so different, so happy, so blessed, so secure and so humbled!! It is wonderful. Our Lady speaks a lot to us about Heaven. I haven’t found yet any reference to our guardian angels in her messages. But she does talk about Heaven being with us. In this message below, she tells us that “Heaven is with you and is fighting for peace in your hearts…” I believe this is a reference to our Guardian Angels!! Here is the whole message: December 25, 2016 “Dear children! With great joy, today I am carrying my Son Jesus to you, for Him to give you His peace. Open your hearts, little children, and be joyful that you can receive it. Heaven is with you and is fighting for peace in your hearts, in the families and in the world; and you, little children, help with your prayers for it to be so. I bless you with my Son Jesus and call you not to lose hope; and for your gaze and heart to always be directed towards Heaven and eternity. In this way, you will be open to God and to His plans. Thank you for having responded to my call.” By acknowledging our Guardian Angel, and spending our day with him, we will realize that Heaven is with us, and fighting for peace in our hearts.
