November 12, 2021 Reflection – God sent me to help you help you grow in holiness!

Deb McEllistrem – Fruit Show 455 November 12, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! ” He sent me to you, to help you to grow in holiness….” Our Lady tells us that God has sent her to us to help us grow in holiness. Very early on in the apparitions she said to us: “Make progress in holiness through the messages. I will help you. Give your utmost and we will go together, sensitive to the sweetness of life, light, and joy.” (August 5, 1984) Notice that she tells us we can make progress in holiness through the messages! Each one of her messages is designed to bring us into a deeper relationship with God and to build holiness in us. She also said to us: “Dear children, if you live the messages, you are living the seed of holiness.” (October 10, 1985) Well I want to share with you the transcript of the most recent Fruit of Medjugorje testimony. It is by God’s design that Deb McEllistrem gave her testimony in October of this year! Because she shares something so beautiful and true about how Our Lady helped her grow in holiness through her messages. Deb teaches us all how to go through difficult times, holding the hand of Our Lady. It is very important advice for us now in these most difficult times: Hi Mary TV! My name is Debbie McEllistrem, and I am from Columbus, Ohio. I am here today to give my testimony about the Blessed Mother and how she intervened in my life during a very difficult time. I am giving this testimony, because in her most recent message (September 225, 2021) she asked us to give witness. So this is my story and my witness. I’ll try to keep it short, and I will give you spoiler alerts. It is about my husband’s passing when he had cancer. And how the Blessed Mother came into my life and really helped me through that time. In 2005 I met my husband. I had never been married before, and he had never been married before. Then in 2005 we got married, and in 2006 we had our daughter. Then when she was 5 my husband was diagnosed with cancer. And it was a rare, aggressive form of cancer called, “Double Hit Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma.” Double-Hit means it is two types of cancer at once. As if one type of cancer is not bad enough. He would go into the hospital for 3 to 5 days at a time and then come home for three weeks and then go back into the hospital for 3 to 5 days. He was diagnosed in June of 2012, when my daughter was 5, and he did that until December of 2012. Then they did a whole bunch of scans and gave us the results in January 2013. I was praying a lot in 2012, asking the Lord for a miracle to heal my husband. I would tell him, “I’m not that good of a parent! You can’t leave me with our daughter, I need him in our life.” She was the apple of his eye. People come into this world with a vocation, and his was to be a father. He was an amazing father. He was wonderful to her. So when we got the results of the first round of chemo therapy, it wasn’t good. They said, “It doesn’t look good and we will have to continue the chemo.” I had so much anxiety. You can’t even imagine. I would wake up in the middle of the night. I had never understood people who would pace, but then I understood them. I couldn’t watch TV, I couldn’t pray video game, I was just too distracted. I had all this energy at 2 or 3 in the morning, so I would pace back and forth downstairs on our main floor, and wring my hands. The anxiety level was through the roof. And I thought things like “what if he dies…what if this…what if that…” You know when someone has cancer they tend to have other things go wrong as well. So he had had a stroke, and he started to have issues with his heart because the Chemo was very aggressive, because the cancer was very aggressive. So there was a lot for me to have anxiety over. I would talk to my siblings and tell them what was going on but nothing seemed to help. My father was going through a bout of dementia and I didn’t want to burden my mother with more negativity. And so I wouldn’t call her or talk to her. So after about 2 or 3 weeks of just wringing my hands, two things happened. First, my friend, Roseanne, told me: “When you have anxiety it is because you are looking into the future and you are trying to predict what is going to happen. But the truth is, Debbie, you are not the master of time. You do not know what is going to happen in the future. And the Lord doesn’t give you the grace for 6 months from now, He gives you the grace for right now! That is all He gives us the grace for – the grace for today. It even says that in the “Our Father”, our daily bread. It doesn’t say our bread for 6 months from now. So she said “You don’t get to predict that.” The other thing that happened was I started to think, “What would my own mother, my earthly mother, Eleanor, do if she was in this situation?” And i thought, “She would pray!” And I thought, what was the biggest thing she did last? Well she had gone to Medjugorje in 1991. So I said, Ok that’s it, I am going to read the messages! So starting from 1981 all the way through to 2013, if I was up in the middle of the night I would read them, one message, two messages, 25 messages for how ever long I was up I just read the Blessed Mother’s messages. And slowly, over time I started to have peace. What was revealed to me was…Even if i take your husband, I am not going to abandon you…I will always be there for you… And a priest said to me once, “If the Lord takes your husband, then He Himself, will be that provider that your husband would have been had he been on earth with you. The Lord will be with you and take care of you and give you peace because He has taken your husband.” And I think that after hearing this and reading the messages, over time…and I wasn’t even good at it…I’m not like (some people) where they think deep thoughts through the messages…I just read them. But I just kept on reading, and the anxiety went away. And I still got up in the middle of the night and I started reading more and more of the messages. It took probably 5 months to read all the messages. There are a lot of messages! And I told my sister that I didn’t know what I would do now that I had read all the messages. Should I start over from the beginning? And my sister said: No you should watch Mary TV, because Denis and Cathy will give a message and then pray a decade of the Rosary, and then another message, and a decade…So I started watching Mary TV, and this was a long time ago, when Denis would count what episode we were on. And they would consecrate the internet to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and throw their Rosaries, and I would do it with them! I would do it in the middle of the night, and my husband would ask what that noise was!!! There are two things I want to say: The first thing is, and I believe it is the most important thing. I believe that there is a sixth stone. Our Blessed Mother talks about the 5 stones, right: The Bible, Prayer with the Heart, Confession, Fasting, and the Holy Eucharist. Those are the 5 stones. But there is a sixth stone. But she would never say there is a sixth stone, because the sixth stone is her messages. And if you read those messages and you have anxiety, they will give you peace. A peace that surpasses all understanding. The peace that you get when you read Sacred Scripture. The peace that you get when you have just received the Eucharist and you are alone with Jesus and you are just communing with Him. The peace that you have after you have come out of Confession. That peace will be yours if you just go through and read the messages! And you don’t have to think deep thoughts. You don’t have to be Padre Pio, I am certainly not. But just to read them…I believe they are the sixth stone! The Blessed Mother would never say anything that would offend Our Lord. And she is with Him all the time, in Heaven. So whatever words she comes to give us, she gives them for our good. For our salvation!. She even says that, “I come to speak for your salvation.” One of the messages that she gave us was: “If you can, grasp the Rosary…” And I say all these message, but i don’t really know them all that well. But I only know them because I watch Denis and Cathy, and these are the messages Denis quotes all the time…so “If you can grasp the Rosary! One Rosary alone can work miracles in the world and in your lives.” And so I try to always have a Rosary with me, and carry a Rosary with me to Mass. I tell my daughter that if i don’t have a Rosary with me, I don’t sleep well. So I always have the Rosary with me. And what the Blessed Mother did, as my husband was going through his cancer – through his last treatments – they gave him 2 weeks notice before he passed. And I just had a profound sense of calm. And people would come up to me and say, “I don’t understand how you do it. I would be a mess, how do you do it?” I tell them that if the Lord puts you in the situation then the Lord will give you the grace to deal with it. He doesn’t give you the grace for 6 months from now…He gives you the grace for today. That’s it, that is all He does. And so, slowly what the Blessed Mother did was that she started to build a net around me of people who would support me. So I would listen to Cathy and Denis, and my family would be a support, and my daughter was in kindergarten and 1st grade at the time, and the mothers would come to me at pick-up, and ask my how I was doing, and tell me they were praying for me. I had strangers stop me on the street and say things like, “My son works with you at the bank, and you don’t know me, but I and my whole church are praying for you and your husband.” Thousands of people prayed for us!!!! One reason I want to give this testimony is because in her last message the Blessed Mother says: “Give witness.” But I want to speak to anyone out there whose loved one might have cancer. I want to tell you to put everything on the Blessed Mother. She is your best friend. She wants to be there for you. And she will make your life heaven, even when it is supposed to be awful. Everyone tells you, “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you are doing thing.’” She will build a safety net around you to help carry your through this difficult time. And it is that sixth stone that is her messages that will really help carry your through it. So right as my husband was passing…he passed on August 4, 2014… the Feast of St. John Vianney. I have a devotion to the Blessed Mother, clearly. But my husband really loved priests! And the Blessed Mother has a devotion to priests. Someone told me, “I wish he had passed on August 5, because that is her birthday. Then someone else said, “She doesn’t care about her birthday. She cares about priests. You might be devoted to the Blessed Mother, but the Blessed Mother is devoted to priests. And that is when she took your husband. And I thought that was powerful and gave me a great amount of peace. To know that on the Feast of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of priests, my husband was in Heaven! So that was a Sunday and I went to Mass at 7:30 in the morning, and I was praying, “Lord let me know that he is with you. Somehow just tell me that he is with you” And I felt in my heart after communion to look up at the Tabernacle, (and my husband more than anything loved to laugh, and he was an amazing father, so he and Gabrielle would just laugh and joke around.) and as I looked at the Tabernacle I saw my husband just smiling, and laughing and saying everything is OK. It’s great now! You can’t wait to get here. It is so wonderful! So I always remember that. It was the Lord telling me that he is with Him now!! He is in Heaven, and he continues to look out for us! So I wear my necklace and I wear his wedding ring all the time. It has been 8 years, almost 9 years, since he passed and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of him. But right after he passed, I was listening to the radio, and the net was still being built by the Blessed Mother around me, and someone came on and announced that they were going to go to Medjugorje! And I thought, I am not going to Medjugorje, I just lost my husband. And then she said: we are going on September 23rd! Which is the feast day of Padre Pio, and my birthday!!! So I thought, Ok I am going. I don’t even know what I am doing. I don’t know if the Blessed Mother is going to pull up a chair and say “Here is what I did and why I did it!” I just decided I am going. So then I was watching Denis and Cathy, and they said: “We are going to Medjugorje, we will be there on September 23rd!! So if you want to meet us, we would love to meet you! So come out and meet us on September 23rd in Medjugorje!” So we arrived, and I called Cathy and Denis, and I said, “I’m in Medjugorje!” And I went and met them at the Blessed Mother Statue in front of St. James. And it was like meeting my parents! The start hugging you right away. The don’t even know your name: What’s your name? Give me a hug!” Then that same day, Vicka’s grandmother had a statue of the Blessed Mother, and and the statue started to glow. And I was able to get a picture of it. (You can see it on the video of Deb’s testimony!) Her mantle is glowing, green. It was another gift from Our Lady, saying that she was caring for me. I am sure Padre Pio had something to do with it too!! It was the Blessed Mother saying, “I am here with you and I won’t leave you alone. I am still building the net around you and I still love you, and I still think of you as my daughter, and I still want to be close to you, and I am with you…I want you to know you can do anything because I am with you.” That’s my testimony, and I wanted to thank her for all she has done for me, and for giving me my beautiful daughter who is so wonderful, and to just say thank you. So that’s my testimony! June 25, 2018 “Dear children! This is the day that the Lord gave me to give Him thanks for each of you, for those who have converted and have accepted my messages and have set out on the way of conversion and holiness. Rejoice, little children, because God is merciful and loves you all with His immeasurable love and leads you to the way of salvation through my coming here. I love you all and give you my Son that He may give you peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.” You can watch Deb’s testimony on our website, It is really powerful to hear her share such beautiful things from her heart!! I agree with her that the messages are the 6th stone!! They are a lifeline for us in these days. November 11, 2021 Reflection – God sent me to help you…

He sent me to help you… November 11, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “…Because God loves and gives His peace to every creature; that is why He sent me to you, to help you to grow in holiness….” We don’t always remember the fact that Our Lady has not devised this plan in Medjugorje. She is not acting solo! The Father sent her to Medjugorje to set up a bivouac, a exploratory camp in which she could initiate His plan. It was a plan to create an oasis of peace in a world overrun with Satan’s minions, welcomed into human society by the horrible “isms” of our time. The Father wanted to create a safe zone where His children could come and be blessed and healed by their Mother. A meeting place, where they could encounter her. He knew we needed Mother Mary because we were all living in a battle zone, a world set up to take our faith away. And so she came. He sent her to us to help us grow in holiness. He sent her to heal our hearts so that we could return to Him, and receive His love and forgiveness. He sent her to save us. And she has done it for 40 years! 40 years of preparation for the Kingdom. 40 years to understand and learn God’s love and grow in it. 40 years to become her children. And she has not failed. She has gathered her children, and made of us a family. We are her little ones who will listen to her voice and follow her lead. May we remain faithful to her call, to her presence, and to her plan! May we stay small and faithful to Our Lady. Let us pray: LITANY IN HONOR OF OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP (for private devotion only) Lord have mercy on us. Christ have mercy on us. November 10, 2021 Reflection – God is love and freedom!

“…Because God is love and freedom, therefore, little children, when they want to put you in bonds and to use you, it is not from God…” (10/25/21) November 10, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “…Because God is love and freedom, therefore, little children, when they want to put you in bonds and to use you, it is not from God…” (10/25/21) In the October 25, 2021 message, Our Lady speaks about a topic I have never heard her speak of before. It has to do with social manipulation which seeks to dictate our moral choices and limit our freedom. She tells us that God is love and freedom! This is so true. God never forces us to do anything. He offers the way of truth and love, and invites us to follow it. But God never manipulates us or violates our conscience. That is how you can discern God’s voice. He speaks in our hearts, with respect and love, with an offer to show us the right way, but without manipulation. The enemy on the other hand loves to manipulate us and get us in a corner. That corner is what Our Lady means when she says, “When they want to put you in bonds and to use you, it is not from God.” When we feel cornered we are in bonds. When we feel we must do what our conscience tells us we should not do, because of pressure from others, this is not from God. So much can be said about this. St. John Paul II wrote several encyclicals that contained extensive discussion on the problem of human freedom and truth. I have included below a section of Veritatis Splendor, (The Splendor of the Truth) in which he discusses the conscience as the location where our freedom is lived out in our hearts through our conversations with God! It is really important to have the correct understanding of our conscience. https://www.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/encyclicals/documents/hf_jp-ii_enc_06081993_veritatis-splendor.html Veritatis Splendor St. John Paul II The judgment of conscience 57. The text of the Letter to the Romans which has helped us to grasp the essence of the natural law also indicates the biblical understanding of conscience, especially in its specific connection with the law: “When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law unto themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or perhaps excuse them” (Rom 2:14-15). According to Saint Paul, conscience in a certain sense confronts man with the law, and thus becomes a “witness” for man: a witness of his own faithfulness or unfaithfulness with regard to the law, of his essential moral rectitude or iniquity. Conscience is the only witness, since what takes place in the heart of the person is hidden from the eyes of everyone outside. Conscience makes its witness known only to the person himself. And, in turn, only the person himself knows what his own response is to the voice of conscience. 58. The importance of this interior dialogue of man with himself can never be adequately appreciated. But it is also a dialogue of man with God, the author of the law, the primordial image and final end of man. Saint Bonaventure teaches that “conscience is like God’s herald and messenger; it does not command things on its own authority, but commands them as coming from God’s authority, like a herald when he proclaims the edict of the king. This is why conscience has binding force”. Thus it can be said that conscience bears witness to man’s own rectitude or iniquity to man himself but, together with this and indeed even beforehand, conscience is the witness of God himself, whose voice and judgment penetrate the depths of man’s soul, calling him fortiter et suaviter to obedience. “Moral conscience does not close man within an insurmountable and impenetrable solitude, but opens him to the call, to the voice of God. In this, and not in anything else, lies the entire mystery and the dignity of the moral conscience: in being the place, the sacred place where God speaks to man” 59. Saint Paul does not merely acknowledge that conscience acts as a “witness”; he also reveals the way in which conscience performs that function. He speaks of “conflicting thoughts” which accuse or excuse the Gentiles with regard to their behavior (cf. Rom 2:15). The term “conflicting thoughts” clarifies the precise nature of conscience: it is a moral judgment about man and his actions, a judgment either of acquittal or of condemnation, according as human acts are in conformity or not with the law of God written on the heart. In the same text the Apostle clearly speaks of the judgment of actions, the judgment of their author and the moment when that judgment will be definitively rendered: “(This will take place) on that day when, according to my Gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus” (Rom 2:16). The judgment of conscience is a practical judgment, a judgment which makes known what man must do or not do, or which assesses an act already performed by him. It is a judgment which applies to a concrete situation the rational conviction that one must love and do good and avoid evil. This first principle of practical reason is part of the natural law; indeed it constitutes the very foundation of the natural law, inasmuch as it expresses that primordial insight about good and evil, that reflection of God’s creative wisdom which, like an imperishable spark (scintilla animae), shines in the heart of every man. But whereas the natural law discloses the objective and universal demands of the moral good, conscience is the application of the law to a particular case; this application of the law thus becomes an inner dictate for the individual, a summons to do what is good in this particular situation. Conscience thus formulates moral obligation in the light of the natural law: it is the obligation to do what the individual, through the workings of his conscience, knows to be a good he is called to do here and now. The universality of the law and its obligation are acknowledged, not suppressed, once reason has established the law’s application in concrete present circumstances. The judgment of conscience states “in an ultimate way” whether a certain particular kind of behavior is in conformity with the law; it formulates the proximate norm of the morality of a voluntary act, “applying the objective law to a particular case”. 60. Like the natural law itself and all practical knowledge, the judgment of conscience also has an imperative character: man must act in accordance with it. If man acts against this judgment or, in a case where he lacks certainty about the rightness and goodness of a determined act, still performs that act, he stands condemned by his own conscience, the proximate norm of personal morality. The dignity of this rational forum and the authority of its voice and judgments derive from the truth about moral good and evil, which it is called to listen to and to express. This truth is indicated by the “divine law”, the universal and objective norm of morality. The judgment of conscience does not establish the law; rather it bears witness to the authority of the natural law and of the practical reason with reference to the supreme good, whose attractiveness the human person perceives and whose commandments he accepts. “Conscience is not an independent and exclusive capacity to decide what is good and what is evil. Rather there is profoundly imprinted upon it a principle of obedience vis-à-vis the objective norm which establishes and conditions the correspondence of its decisions with the commands and prohibitions which are at the basis of human behavior”. 61. The truth about moral good, as that truth is declared in the law of reason, is practically and concretely recognized by the judgment of conscience, which leads one to take responsibility for the good or the evil one has done. If man does evil, the just judgment of his conscience remains within him as a witness to the universal truth of the good, as well as to the malice of his particular choice. But the verdict of conscience remains in him also as a pledge of hope and mercy: while bearing witness to the evil he has done, it also reminds him of his need, with the help of God’s grace, to ask forgiveness, to do good and to cultivate virtue constantly. Consequently in the practical judgment of conscience, which imposes on the person the obligation to perform a given act, the link between freedom and truth is made manifest. Precisely for this reason conscience expresses itself in acts of “judgment” which reflect the truth about the good, and not in arbitrary “decisions”. The maturity and responsibility of these judgments — and, when all is said and done, of the individual who is their subject — are not measured by the liberation of the conscience from objective truth, in favor of an alleged autonomy in personal decisions, but, on the contrary, by an insistent search for truth and by allowing oneself to be guided by that truth in one’s actions. (Veritatis Splendor. https://www.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/encyclicals/documents/hf_jp-ii_enc_06081993_veritatis-splendor.html ) I share this because St. John Paul had made it his aim to teach extensively on what makes us human, how we must live with our dignity and freedom in communion with God, etc. He knew that in our day our fundamental freedom would be under attack and we would have to understand how God made us in order to defend life, defend truth, defend freedom, and defend our faith. God bless all of you! You might try to read Veritatis Splendor, and let St. John Paul II minister to your heart and mind with his great understanding of God and Man! In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! November 9, 2021 Reflection – The Freedom of the Children of God!

“…He who prays, little children, feels the freedom of the children of God and in joy of heart serves for the good for his brother-man…” (10/25/21) November 9, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “…He who prays, little children, feels the freedom of the children of God and in joy of heart serves for the good for his brother-man…” (10/25/21) Our Mother tells us that if we pray we will feel the freedom of the children of God! She longs for us to feel this freedom. She wants us to feel the joy of living in that freedom. It is a freedom that comes through the knowledge of the Truth. Only when we comprehend the truth about God, the truth about ourselves, and the truth about the world and the devil, will we finally be able to choose the Good! We will understand the spiritual terrain that we live in and know what is best to choose. We have always been able to choose, but we have not always known enough of the truth to choose the good. And so we end up all tied up in lies and bondage. It is the truth that can set us free. As Jesus said in John’s Gospel: Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32) This freedom to choose the good is really the joy of the children of God!! It is what makes the martyrs so filled with joy even on the way to their death. It is the joy that fills mothers and fathers when they serve their children 24 hours a day! It is the joy that empowers the priest to serve his parish non stop, with such dedication. In that freedom everything makes sense and there is great peace! Our Lady tells us it is through prayer that God can speak to us, and show us His great Truth. Prayer is the only way for each of us, individually to come to the truth. It is not just a matter of study. It is also a matter of the heart. And our hearts must know God in order to know the Truth. So we must pray. She said to us in 2016: January 25, 2016“Dear children! Also today I am calling all of you to prayer. You cannot live without prayer, because prayer is a chain which brings you closer to God. Therefore, little children, in humility of heart return to God and to His commandments so that with all of your heart you are able to say: as it is in Heaven so may it be on earth. You, little children, are free to in freedom decide for God or against Him. See where Satan wants to pull you into sin and slavery. Therefore, little children, return to my heart so that I can lead you to my Son Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Thank you for having responded to my call.” We are the most blessed of children, because Our Mother is with us to lead us to Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life!! May we all respond to her call in these days, in which the Truth is all but forgotten by so many. We can be light bearers of the Truth, which is the Love of God! In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! November 8, 2021 Reflection – He who prays is open to life…

“He who prays is open to life November 8, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! He who prays is open to life and respects the life of others…” Our Lady has been leading us on the way of holiness and life. In this message from 1996 she asked us to choose life. We know what she is saying, because we see this choice challenged at every turn in our world: March 25, 1996 “Dear children! I invite you to decide again to love God above all else. In this time when due to the spirit of consumerism one forgets what it means to love and to cherish true values, I invite you again, little children, to put God in the first place in your life. Do not let satan attract you through material things but, little children, decide for God who is freedom and love. Choose life and not death of the soul, little children, and in this time when you meditate upon the suffering and death of Jesus I invite you to decide for life which blossomed through the Resurrection, and that your life may be renewed today through conversion that shall lead you to eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call…” We must decide for life, every day. It is the battle of our time. And Our Lady is the greatest example of one who chose life, stood for life, defended life, and protected life always. I want to share with you the conclusion to the Encyclical, Evangelium Vitae, given to us by St. John Paul II. St. John Paul II writes so powerfully about being open to life, and respecting life in this encyclical, and in the conclusion describes how Our Lady is the best example of one who is open to and respects life: CONCLUSION (Evangelium Vitae) 102. At the end of this Encyclical, we naturally look again to the Lord Jesus, “the Child born for us” (cf. Is 9:6), that in him we may contemplate “the Life” which “was made manifest” (1 Jn 1:2). In the mystery of Christ’s Birth the encounter of God with man takes place and the earthly journey of the Son of God begins, a journey which will culminate in the gift of his life on the Cross. By his death Christ will conquer death and become for all humanity the source of new life. The one who accepted “Life” in the name of all and for the sake of all was Mary, the Virgin Mother; she is thus most closely and personally associated with the Gospel of life. Mary’s consent at the Annunciation and her motherhood stand at the very beginning of the mystery of life which Christ came to bestow on humanity (cf. Jn 10:10). Through her acceptance and loving care for the life of the Incarnate Word, human life has been rescued from condemnation to final and eternal death. For this reason, Mary, “like the Church of which she is the type, is a mother of all who are reborn to life. She is in fact the mother of the Life by which everyone lives, and when she brought it forth from herself she in some way brought to rebirth all those who were to live by that Life”. As the Church contemplates Mary’s motherhood, she discovers the meaning of her own motherhood and the way in which she is called to express it. At the same time, the Church’s experience of motherhood leads to a most profound understanding of Mary’s experience as the incomparable model of how life should be welcomed and cared for. “A great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun” (Rev 12:1): the motherhood of Mary and of the Church. 103. The mutual relationship between the mystery of the Church and Mary appears clearly in the “great portent” described in the Book of Rev- elation: “A great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars” (12:1). In this sign the Church recognizes an image of her own mystery: present in history, she knows that she transcends history, inasmuch as she constitutes on earth the “seed and beginning” of the Kingdom of God. The Church sees this mystery fulfilled in complete and exemplary fashion in Mary. She is the woman of glory in whom God’s plan could be carried out with supreme perfection. The “woman clothed with the sun”-the Book of Revelation tells us-“was with child” (12:2). The Church is fully aware that she bears within herself the Savior of the world, Christ the Lord. She is aware that she is called to offer Christ to the world, giving men and women new birth into God’s own life. But the Church cannot forget that her mission was made possible by the motherhood of Mary, who conceived and bore the One who is “God from God”, “true God from true God”. Mary is truly the Mother of God, the Theotokos, in whose motherhood the vocation to motherhood bestowed by God on every woman is raised to its highest level. Thus Mary becomes the model of the Church, called to be the “new Eve”, the mother of believers, the mother of the “living” (cf. Gen 3:20). The Church’s spiritual motherhood is only achieved-the Church knows this too-through the pangs and “the labor” of childbirth (cf. Rev 12:2), that is to say, in constant tension with the forces of evil which still roam the world and affect human hearts, offering resistance to Christ: “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (Jn 1:4-5). Like the Church, Mary too had to live her motherhood amid suffering: “This child is set … for a sign that is spoken against-and a sword will pierce through your own soul also-that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed” (Lk 2:34-35). The words which Simeon addresses to Mary at the very beginning of the Savior’s earthly life sum up and prefigure the rejection of Jesus, and with him of Mary, a rejection which will reach its culmination on Calvary. “Standing by the cross of Jesus” (Jn 19:25), Mary shares in the gift which the Son makes of himself: she offers Jesus, gives him over, and begets him to the end for our sake. The “yes” spoken on the day of the Annunciation reaches full maturity on the day of the Cross, when the time comes for Mary to receive and beget as her children all those who become disciples, pouring out upon them the saving love of her Son: “When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold, your son!’ ” (Jn 19:26). “And the dragon stood before the woman … that he might devour her child when she brought it forth” (Rev 12:4): life menaced by the forces of evil 104. In the Book of Revelation, the “great portent” of the “woman” (12:1) is accompanied by “another portent which appeared in heaven”: “a great red dragon” (Rev 12:3), which represents Satan, the personal power of evil, as well as all the powers of evil at work in history and opposing the Church’s mission. Here too Mary sheds light on the Community of Believers. The hostility of the powers of evil is, in fact, an insidious opposition which, before affecting the disciples of Jesus, is directed against his mother. To save the life of her Son from those who fear him as a dangerous threat, Mary has to flee with Joseph and the Child into Egypt (cf. Mt 2:13-15). Mary thus helps the Church to realize that life is always at the center of a great struggle between good and evil, between light and darkness. The dragon wishes to devour “the child brought forth” (cf. Rev 12:4), a figure of Christ, whom Mary brought forth “in the fullness of time” (Gal 4:4) and whom the Church must unceasingly offer to people in every age. But in a way that child is also a figure of every person, every child, especially every helpless baby whose life is threatened, because-as the Council reminds us-“by his Incarnation the Son of God has united himself in some fashion with every person”. It is precisely in the “flesh” of every person that Christ continues to reveal himself and to enter into fellowship with us, so that rejection of human life, in whatever form that rejection takes, is really a rejection of Christ. This is the fascinating but also demanding truth which Christ reveals to us and which his Church continues untiringly to proclaim: “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me” (Mt 18:5); “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me” (Mt 25:40). “Death shall be no more” (Rev 21:4): the splendor of the Resurrection 105. The angel’s Annunciation to Mary is framed by these reassuring words: “Do not be afraid, Mary” and “with God nothing will be impossible” (Lk 1:30, 37). The whole of the Virgin Mother’s life is in fact pervaded by the certainty that God is near to her and that he accompanies her with his providential care. The same is true of the Church, which finds “a place prepared by God” (Rev 12:6) in the desert, the place of trial but also of the manifestation of God’s love for his people (cf. Hos 2:16). Mary is a living word of comfort for the Church in her struggle against death. Showing us the Son, the Church assures us that in him the forces of death have already been defeated: “Death with life contended: combat strangely ended! Life’s own Champion, slain, yet lives to reign”. The Lamb who was slain is alive, bearing the marks of his Passion in the splendor of the Resurrection. He alone is master of all the events of history: he opens its “seals” (cf. Rev 5:1-10) and proclaims, in time and beyond, the power of life over death. In the “new Jerusalem”, that new world towards which human history is traveling, “death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away” (Rev 21:4). And as we, the pilgrim people, the people of life and for life, make our way in confidence towards “a new heaven and a new earth” (Rev 21:1), we look to her who is for us “a sign of sure hope and solace”. O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life. Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. https://www.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/encyclicals/documents/hf_jp-ii_enc_25031995_evangelium-vitae.html Yes, Mother, the one who prays is open to life and respects the life of others!!!! Teach us to pray, so that we can become those who stand for life today, respecting and caring for it at all stages and in all forms. We want to be like you, Mother Mary! In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! November 5, 2021 Reflection – He who prays is not afraid of the future…

“He who prays is not afraid of the future…” November 5, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! Return to prayer because he who prays is not afraid of the future…” (10/25/21) Thank you to all who have sent me confirmations about the power of praying Psalm 91 for protection! I am so edified. In particular I want to share an amazing story from our shipmate, Karin! She tells us of a moment in her life when it she was in terrible danger, but through her daily prayer of Psalm 91 (and Psalm 23) she was delivered! Here is her story: Dear Cathy, Please forgive me for this long letter. I felt I had to share this with you. Today, when you talked about Psalm 91 (Under God’s Protection), I was hit by a memory I had put away in my drawer. In 1987, I lived in Haiti for 13 years. I worked at Tele Haiti; the private TV station owned by good Catholic French People. I was not Catholic, yet. I grew up a Lutheran. In 1987 Haiti was in chaos. On the day I am going to talk about, all important roads were blocked, people were shooting in the streets. People were told to stay home, no school for kids. Ever since I had worked at Tele Haiti, I would start my mornings in my office asking my secretary not to be disturbed. There, I prayed daily Psalm 23 – The Lord is my Shepherd – and Psalm 91 – Under God’s Protection. Someone in my heart had told me that I needed to do this daily. It gave me peace and strength. ……. As I mentioned, this special day almost the whole Haitian population stayed home. However, we at the TV station had to work. We all had a big sign of Tele Haiti on our cars. This was a kind of protection as we were not the government TV Station. But around noon the shooting in the streets was terrible and the fire barricades on the roads were growing. The German Embassy was almost next to our TV building. I had very good friends there. They started calling me to tell me that it was getting too dangerous on the streets, I should drive with them in their car column home. It was very visible that the German Ambassador and his staff were in the column. That would be the safest way for me to drive home. I had to drive directly behind the ambassador’s car with the German Flag etc. Of course, he had a blended car, and the chauffeur was a Haitian who knew the roads very well. Shortly after we left, we saw the barricades burning in the street. Nobody was there, besides our cars. The chauffeur drove to the not burning sidewalk. I had no choice but to drive very close after his car. He hoped that on the sidewalk we could go through this fire barricade. But soon we realized there was one fire barricade after the other. Suddenly, “out of nowhere” big stones of the size of soccer balls or larger were hitting our cars, one after the other from big slingshots. My good German friend from the Embassy who rode with me because she did not want me to be alone in my car, started screaming and was hiding on the floor of my car. The slingshots did not stop. But each stone hit only the frame of my car. Not once the windows. When they hit the frame in the front of the car, they made a big crack in the windshield but nothing broke. I was driving very close to the ambassador’s car. My friend did not stop screaming out of fear. We were driving approximately 1 1/2 miles through fire and stone slingshots. Nobody was around us. I stayed totally calm only concentrating on the car before me. Suddenly, I saw on the small sidewalk a Jeep coming towards us. I was thinking. Is he crazy? Does he not see they are shooting big stones on us? But we kept driving. Shortly after that we finally left the fire and stones behind, and the chauffeur stopped his car. I did the same and we left the car to see the damage done. I turned around and looked for the cars behind me. When we left, we were six cars, now there was only one car behind me. I saw the Ambassador and the driver going around their car. I realized his car was full of signs of shots in the front window and on the doors etc. My car had not one sign of bullets! Shortly after I came finally home – now shaking and crying. The Ambassador called me. He told me he just got a phone call from a journalist. He told him he heard that the “Madame Tele Haiti” got shot and he wanted to know if I (she) died. I then realized: I WAS TRULY UNDER GOD’S PROTECTION!!! These two Psalms, 23 and 91, are close to me. They helped me to get through those 13 years living in Haiti. And today, as a Catholic, I still feel the protection and guidance of The Father, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, Mother Mary, and St. Joseph. Yes, Psalms 23 and 91, are very powerful. When I just started writing down my memory of 1987, for a moment I felt the panic and lived through those terrible moments again. But now, I feel only joy. God showed me again how much HE loves me. Thank you for reading my Psalm 91 Story. In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Karin Thank you, Karin!!! Your courage, which could only have come from God, is amazing! God’s protection was all around you as you drove through that gauntlet of fire and a rain of stones. We can all learn from your experience. God is with us. Our Lady is directing our steps. And our faith is powerful. Truly we can pray Psalm 91 with such hope and trust: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91: 1-2) In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! November 4, 2021 Reflection – He who prays is not afraid of the future…

“He who prays is not afraid of the future…” November 4, 2021 St. Charles Borromeo Dear Family of Mary! “Dear children! Return to prayer because he who prays is not afraid of the future…” (10/25/21) I must admit that there are moments in my day when fear of the future washes over me like a tsunami wave. When I look at the world from my human perspective I am overwhelmed with a sense of futility and vulnerability. And this sense is not wrong. There are no human solutions that can come close to righting this ship! When I woke up this morning, this sense of futility and fear was very strong. And during our early morning Rosary, I tried to keep my heart and mind focused on God. At one point I heard in my heart the words: “ten thousand at my right hand.” I knew it was from Scripture, but I couldn’t remember the citation. So I did a quick search and found it in Psalm 91. As I read Psalm 91, God was able to speak directly to my fear. I knew He was listening to my heart, and that He was directing me through that phrase to His Word, the Word that would rescue me from fear. Here is Psalm 91: Psalm 91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence; He will cover you with his pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD your refuge, the Most High your habitation, no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. For He will give His angels charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot. Because he cleaves to Me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows My name. When he calls to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation. Amen! I plan to make this Psalm one of my daily prayers. It carries the anointing of the Lord for me, and surrounds me with His love and protection. May it do the same for you! In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! November 3, 2021 Reflection – Return to Prayer!

Return to Prayer November 3, 2021 St. Martin de Porres Dear Family of Mary! Our Lady has used the phrase, “Return to prayer…” only 7 or 8 times in her messages. But when she has said it, it has been in the context of a powerful call. Our Lady knows that for us it is life or death to pray. She wants us to know how crucial it is that we pray, every day, often, in silence and trust. Prayer works miracles. And in these days we can must receive the miraculous intervention of God daily to survive! It is the miraculous intervention of love, of peace, of hope, of truth, of light and of power! We must be filled with the Holy Spirit every day to carry on in this most difficult moment in human history. Here are 6 messages in which Our Lady made it clear that we must return to prayer: February 25, 2016 “Dear children! In this time of grace, I am calling all of you to conversion. Little children, you love little and pray even less. You are lost and do not know what your goal is. Take the cross, look at Jesus and follow Him. He gives Himself to you to the death on the cross, because He loves you. Little children, I am calling you: return to prayer with the heart so as to find hope and the meaning of your existence, in prayer. I am with you and am praying for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 25, 2016 “Dear children! I am looking at you and I see you lost; and you do not have prayer or joy in your heart. Return to prayer, little children, and put God in the first place and not man. Do not lose the hope which I am carrying to you. May this time, little children, every day, be a greater seeking of God in the silence of your heart; and pray, pray, pray until prayer becomes joy for you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” November 25, 2016 “Dear children! Also today, I am calling you to return to prayer. In this time of grace, God has permitted me to lead you towards holiness and a simple life – that in little things you discover God the Creator; that you fall in love with Him; and that your life be a thanksgiving to the Most High for everything He is giving you. Little children, in love, may your life be a gift for others and God will bless you; but you, witness without interest – out of love for God. I am with you and intercede before my Son for all of you. Thank you for having responded to my call…” July 25, 2019 “Dear children! My call for you is prayer. May prayer be a joy for you and a wreath which binds you to God. Little children, trials will come and you will not be strong, and sin will reign but, if you are mine, you will win, because your refuge will be the Heart of my Son Jesus. Therefore, little children, return to prayer until prayer becomes life for you in the day and the night. Thank you for having responded to my call.” March 25, 2020 “Dear children! I am with you all these years to lead you to the way of salvation. Return to my Son; return to prayer and fasting. Little children, permit God to speak to your heart, because Satan is reigning and wants to destroy your lives and the earth on which you walk. Be courageous and decide for holiness. You will see conversion in your hearts and families; prayer will be heard; God will hear your cries and give you peace. I am with you and am blessing you all with my motherly blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call.” October 25, 2021 “Dear children! Return to prayer because he who prays is not afraid of the future; he who prays is open to life and respects the life of others; he who prays, little children, feels the freedom of the children of God and in joy of heart serves for the good for his brother-man. Because God is love and freedom, therefore, little children, when they want to put you in bonds and to use you, it is not from God. Because God loves and gives His peace to every creature; and that is why He sent me to you to help you to grow in holiness. Thank you for having responded to my call.”  Return to prayer…. November 2, 2021 Reflection – All Souls Day!

The Holy Souls in Purgatory November 2, 2021 All Souls Day Dear Family of Mary! Today we pray for the souls in Purgatory, especially our family members. Our Lady asked the parish to pray for the deceased in these two messages: Wednesday, July 21, 1982 “There are many souls in Purgatory. There are also persons who have been consecrated to God: some priests, some religious. Pray for their intentions, at least 7 Our Father’s, Hail Mary’s and Glory Be’s and the Creed. I recommend it to you. There is a large number of souls who have been in Purgatory for a long time because no one prays for them.” November 6, 1986 “Dear children! Today I wish to call you to pray daily for souls in purgatory. For every soul prayer and grace is necessary to reach God and the love of God. By doing this, dear children, you obtain new intercessors who will help you in life to realize that all the earthly things are not important for you, that only Heaven is that for which it is necessary to strive. Therefore, dear children, pray without ceasing that you may be able to help yourselves and the others to whom your prayers will bring joy. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Her words are urgent and powerful. It is in our hands to help the deceased who are waiting to enter Heaven. Their prayers are no longer effective for themselves. They depend on us. It is amazing that even the 7-7-7 prayer can help them! The parish prays the 7-7-7 after evening Mass every day! Think of all the souls we could help if we prayed those prayers for the deceased. Here is a short litany that might be useful to pray every day as well: “Little Litany of the Holy Souls” by Dr. Blanche Jennings Thompson, Franciscan Tertiary. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Holy Souls, Pray for us. For the souls of our families, We pray Thee, O God. For the souls of our friends, We pray Thee, O God. For the souls of our enemies, We pray Thee, O God. For the souls of all pagans, We pray Thee, O God. For the souls of all priests, We pray Thee, O God. For the souls of all religious, We pray Thee, O God. For the souls of the just, We pray Thee, O God. For the souls of all sinners, We pray Thee, O God. For the Holy Souls in Purgatory, We pray Thee, O God. For those who have none to pray for them, We pray Thee, O God. O Almighty and Eternal God, we beg Thee to have mercy on the Holy Souls in Purgatory, especially those for whom we are bound to pray; and we ask Thee also to listen to the prayers of the Blessed Souls in our behalf. Amen. This is something else we could pray every day!! In Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! Cathy Nolan Mary TV 2021

He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,  and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things,  and the rich he has sent away empty.
