The Most Holy Name of Jesus   January 3, 2023 Dear Family of Mary! Today we celebrate the glory of the Most Holy Name of Jesus! How many times in a day do we say the Name of Jesus? If we pray the Rosary even once, it is many times that Jesus’ name is on our lips. I believe that Jesus wants us to say His Name as much as possible. He wants to be on our minds, in our hearts, in our conversations and our prayers, and in our deepest desires. He is our love and our life! We are so blessed to be given permission to say His Name intimately and often! Remember how Jesus was named: And the Angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. And He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.” (Lk 1: 30-33) Mary’s Son is great, called the Son of the Most High!! He is going to reign over the house of Jacob and indeed over the whole earth forever! And yet, we have been given the privilege to call upon Him by Name!! Wow!! Our Lady told us how important her Son’s name is in this message through Mirjana: “Dear children! Do not seek peace and happiness in vain, in the wrong places and in wrong things. Do not permit your hearts to become hard by loving vanity. Invoke the name of my Son. Receive Him in your heart. Only in the name of my Son will you experience true happiness and true peace in your heart. Only in this way will you come to know the love of God and spread it further. I am calling you to be my apostles.” (March 18, 2000) May we invoke the name of Jesus, reverently and prayerfully and often!! Here is a Litany to the Holy Name of Jesus we can pray today: Litany of the Holy Name of Jesus Lord, have mercy on us Christ, have mercy on us. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us, Christ, graciously hear us. God the Father of heaven, have mercy on us. God the Son, Redeemer of the World, God the Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity, one God, Jesus, Son of the living God, Jesus, Splendor of the Father, Jesus, Brightness of eternal Light, Jesus, King of Glory, Jesus, Sun of Justice, Jesus, Son of the Virgin Mary, Jesus, most powerful, Jesus, most patient, Jesus, most obedient, Jesus, meek and humble of heart, Jesus, Lover of Chastity, Jesus, our Lover, Jesus, zealous for souls, Jesus, our God, Jesus, our Refuge, Jesus, Father of the Poor, Jesus, Treasure of the Faithful, Jesus, good Shepherd, Jesus, eternal Wisdom, Jesus, infinite Goodness, Jesus, joy of the Angels, Jesus, Crown of all Saints, [Please respond, deliver us, O Jesus] From all evil, deliver us, O Jesus. From all sin, From deception and the lies of the devil, From the culture of death, From greed and selfishness, From pornography, lust and promiscuity, From hatred, division and hostility, From pride and envy, From the scourge of abortion, From the breakdown of the family, From attacks against marriage, From gender ideology, From war and violence, From drug trafficking and addiction, From human trafficking, racism and all assaults against the dignity of the human person, From the fracturing of our nation and toxic ideologies, From everlasting death, Through the mystery of Your Holy Incarnation, …deliver us, O Jesus. Through Your Nativity, Through Your Infancy, Through Your most divine Life, Through Your Labors, Through Your Agony and Passion, Through Your Cross and Dereliction, Through your Sufferings, Through Your Death and Burial, Through Your Resurrection, Through Your Ascension, Through Your Institution of the Most Holy Eucharist, Through Your Joys, Through Your Glory, Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, spare us, O Jesus. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Jesus. Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us, O Jesus. Let us pray: Lord Jesus Christ, You have said, ‘Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you’; mercifully attend to our supplications, and grant us the grace of Your most divine love, that we may love You with all our hearts, and in all our words and actions, and never cease to praise You. Make us, O Lord, to have a perpetual fear and love of Your holy name, for You never fail to govern those whom You establish in Your love. You, Who live and reign forever and ever. Time for a Saint to pick you for 2023!   January 2, 2023 Dear Family of Mary! Happy New Year everyone! May this year be a year of victory and blessing for all of us!! Our Lady is with us in Medjugorje!! We are so blessed! There is a wonderful tradition in which we pray and ask a saint to come and accompany us through the New Year. Our Lady has encouraged us to stay close to the saints and take them as examples for our lives. This is a practical way to do that! She told us: “Dear children! I am with you and I rejoice today because the Most High has granted me to be with you and to teach you and to guide you on the path of perfection. Little children, I wish you to be a beautiful bouquet of flowers which I wish to present to God for the day of All Saints. I invite you to open yourselves and to live, taking the saints as an example. Mother Church has chosen them, that they may be an impulse for your daily life. Thank you for having responded to my call!” October 25, 1994 I am including a list of saints which you can print out and cut up, and put in a bowl. Then with your family you can each say a short prayer and draw out a saint to be your companion for 2023. We need these heavenly friends in these days!! The Feast of the Holy Family   December 30, 2022 The Feast of the Holy Family Dear Family of Mary! Today we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family! Jesus, Mary and Joseph made up the Holy Family. They lived a very beautiful life of humility and love, together, each in their proper role, each living with pure and total love for the others. We probably don’t think to much about their many years together as a family. We have the dramatic stories in the Gospels, like the Birth of Jesus in a Stable in Bethlehem, the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, and the Finding of Jesus in the Temple. But there were hundreds of days that we have no account of. And they were spent in such a beautiful way, full of love, prayer, humility, generosity, respect, cooperation and probably some humor as well! They were the Holy Family! But they were a real family too. Our Lady has made it clear in her messages that each of our families are important. She wants our families to pray together, to read Scripture, to go to Holy Mass prayerfully, to pray the Rosary, to open our hearts to God, and to be holy! Our families are important to her plan. Have we given this enough attention over the years? We live in a world that is designed to destroy families. Have we tried to protect our families and guide them into holiness? Let’s pray the Joyful Mysteries today, and let Our Lady speak to us about our family life. She can help us to make the changes that will heal and bless our families, no matter how old we are. This day could be a beginning for us. Also, today a beautiful family will begin in Medjugorje. One of our Mary TV Team members, Mario, will marry his beloved Sarah today at 2:00 pm Medjugorje time. Mario has agreed to let us live-stream the wedding in St. James Church!! And you are all invited! Join us on the Channel at 2:00 pm Medjugorje time, today, Friday, December 30! And let’s pray for this blessed couple as they begin their married life. Mother Mary, please bless them and pray for them always! Little children, I am with you, and I love you and I bless you and I wish for every one of you to be in my embrace. You cannot be in my embrace if you are not ready to pray every day. Thank you for having responded to my call.” October 25, 2004 “Dear children! This is a time of grace for the family and, therefore, I call you to renew prayer. May Jesus be in the heart of your family. In prayer, learn to love everything that is holy. Imitate the lives of saints so that they may be an incentive and teachers on the way of holiness. May every family become a witness of love in this world without prayer and peace. Thank you for having responded to my call.” December 25, 1991 “Dear children! Today in a special way I bring the little Jesus to you, that He may bless you with His blessing of peace and love. Dear children, do not forget that this is a grace which many people neither understand nor accept. Therefore, you who have said that you are mine, and seek my help, give all of yourself. First of all, give your love and example in your families. You say that Christmas is a family feast. Therefore, dear children, put God in the first place in your families, so that He may give you peace and may protect you not only from war, but also in peace protect you from every satanic attack. When God is with you, you have everything. But when you do not want Him, then you are miserable and lost, and you do not know on whose side you are. Therefore, dear children, decide for God. Then you will get everything. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 24, 1986 “Dear children! I rejoice because of all of you who are on the way of holiness and I beseech you, by your own testimony help those who do not know how to live in holiness. Therefore, dear children, let your family be a place where holiness is birthed. Help everyone to live in holiness, but especially your own family. A sign that will be contradicted December 29, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! Today in our Gospel we hear the prophetic words of Simeon, who came in the spirit to the temple to meet Jesus and his Mother and Father. Simeon spoke in the Spirit to Mary and Joseph about what God had revealed to him about Jesus. It was a powerful moment! I believe that God wants to speak to us in a similar way, revealing to us His plans for us and sharing His Heart with us. Let’s take in these words of Scripture today and let them open our hearts to God: Luke 2:22-35 When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, the parents of Jesus took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord, and to offer the sacrifice of a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons, in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord. Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Christ of the Lord. He came in the Spirit into the temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to perform the custom of the law in regard to him, he took him into his arms and blessed God, saying: “Lord, now let your servant go in peace; your word has been fulfilled: my own eyes have seen the salvation which you prepared in the sight of every people, a light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people Israel.”  The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was said about him; and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, “Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted (and you yourself a sword will pierce) so that the thoughts of many hearts may be ­revealed.” In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! The Holy Innocents   December 28, 2022 Feast of the Holy Innocents Dear Family of Mary! The Gospel today ends with this terrible event: When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had ascertained from the magi. Then was fulfilled what had been said through Jeremiah the prophet: A voice was heard in Ramah, sobbing and loud lamentation; Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be consoled, since they were no more. (Mt 2:16-18) Herod wanted to destroy Jesus. And in his rage, he destroyed all the innocent children in and around Bethlehem. At the thought of it, we are silenced. For we know that Herod continues his rage up to this day, killing as many innocent babies in the womb as possible, in an attempt to kill Jesus once again. But we also live in a time when Our Lady has come to be with us. She, the Mother, is with us to show us how to help Jesus to save the world from all the Herods. She is calling us to be like the Holy Innocents, in that we must become humble and small like them. Then we will be of some help to Jesus. Our Lady has told us: “Dear children; In this holy time of joyful expectation, God has chosen you little ones to realize His great intentions. My children, be humble. Through your humility, God, with His wisdom, will make of your souls a chosen home. You will illuminate it with good works and thus, with an open heart, you will welcome the birth of my Son in all of His generous love. Thank you dear children.” December 2, 2008 Through our humility, we will allow God to make of our souls a chosen home, and He will make our souls ready to welcome Jesus when He comes again. In this very early picture of the young visionaries with Our Lady, Jakov is the little one peering over the alter so intently! The December 25, 2022 Message thru Jakov   December 27, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! At the last daily apparition to Jakov Colo on September 12th, 1998, Our Lady told him that henceforth he would have one apparition a year, every December 25th, on Christmas Day. This is also how it was this year. The apparition began at 2:18 pm and lasted 8 minutes. Our Lady came with little Jesus in her arms. Through Jakov, Our Lady gave the following message: Today, when the light of Jesus’ birth is illuminating the entire world, in a special way, with Jesus in my arms, I am praying that every heart becomes a stable of Bethlehem, in which my Son will be born, so that your lives become a light of His birth. Little children, you live in peacelessness and fear. That is why, little children, today, on this day of grace, implore Jesus to strengthen your faith and to become the ruler of your lives; because, my children, only with Jesus in your lives will you not be looking at peacelessness but praying for peace and will live in peace; and you will not be looking at fear but at Jesus Who frees us of all fears. Merry Christmas from Mary TV December 23, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! As I write to you this last reflection for the week, the wind outside is howling, the temperature is dropping to the single digits, and the snow is whiling around our little house. There is a blizzard approaching our area. But Denis and I are tucked safely in our home. We also have Covid, both of us! So we will be isolated from family and friends this Christmas. And we won’t even be able to go to Holy Mass! But Our Lady has not left us alone. She is with us in every Rosary we pray. And we have Mary TV to connect us to the events at St. James Parish as well! Especially the beautiful events on Christmas Eve. Know that we will be praying for all of you, dear shipmates! Let’s read it together in preparation. No matter our circumstances this Christmas, we know that we have a Savior. We know that He became Man for us to save us. We know that Mary is His Mother. And we know that one day we will see Him face to face. We are so loved. There is nothing to fear. The Savior is born. Luke 2:1-14 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment, when Quirinius was governor of Syria. So all went to be enrolled, each to his own town. And Joseph too went up from Galilee from the town of Nazareth to Judea, to the city of David that is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. While they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.  Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:  “Glory to God in the highest/ and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” The Gospel of the Lord. Amen and Amen!! We are all shepherds. We are the little ones to whom the Father sent His Angels, so excited to share the great news of the birth of His Son! He couldn’t keep it quiet. But He knew who to tell! Simple, poor, humble shepherds who smelled like their sheep! These were the lowly ones. The Father told them first!! He always chooses the lowly! The Father is choosing you and me this Christmas to share His great joy at the Birth of His Son!!! We are so blessed, so loved indeed!! As Our Lady said to us: December 2, 2008 “Dear children; In this holy time of joyful expectation, God has chosen you little ones to realize His great intentions. My children, be humble. Through your humility, God, with His wisdom, will make of your souls a chosen home. My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord!   December 22, 2022 Dear Family of Mary! As we draw ever closer to the Nativity of the Lord, we ponder the Visitation again, but this time it is Mary herself who declares to us the Truth! It is the Truth about who she is and about what God has done for her. It is the Truth about God’s people, and what God has done for all of us! Truly she extols the Mercy of God which saves us all, in miraculous ways. So miraculous that we will sing about it for all eternity. We will say to each other: “The Almighty as done great things for Mary, can you believe it! He has done the unimaginable for her! And we are so stunned that we will worship God forever and ever at what He has done in and through Mary!” Let us rejoice with shouts of praise! Luke 1:46-56: Mary said:  “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior, for he has looked upon his lowly servant.  From this day all generations will call me blessed:  the Almighty has done great things for me,  and holy is his Name.  He has mercy on those who fear him  in every generation.  He has shown the strength of his arm,  and has scattered the proud in their conceit.  He has cast down the mighty from their thrones  and has lifted up the lowly.  He has filled the hungry with good things,  and the rich he has sent away empty.  He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever.” Mary remained with Elizabeth about three months and then returned to her home.
