May 24, 2021 Reflection – Mary, Mother of the Church!

Fr. A giving the homily on the Vigil of Pentecost! May 24, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Today we celebrate a new feast dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church! This feast is celebrated on the day after Pentecost! It makes perfect sense. Our Lady was with the Apostles for the 9 days before the coming of the Holy Spirit. She was teaching them how to pray! She was mothering them into the Coming of the Holy Spirit!! And we can depend on Our Lady to continue her mothering of the Church in our day. Indeed, she continues it from Medjugorje, where she has come to prepare us for the new times! I have a special gift for you all today. It is the transcript of the Homily given at the Evening International Mass in Medjugorje for Saturday, May 22, 2021, the Vigil of Pentecost! This homily is a reality check for all of us. Given by a priest from Citluk, Fr. Azinimov (not sure of the spelling), this homily will knock your socks off!! It is long, but bear with me, it is worth the read. Better yet, listen to it at this link: https://marytv.tv/evening-international-mass-2/?smid=ima31dsYQt4&slid=KdArKwrWsDO A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to John On the last day and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood there and cried out, “If any man is thirsty, let him come to me. Let the man come and drink who believes in me.” As scripture says, from His breath shall flow fountains of Living Water. He was speaking of the Spirit which those who believed in Him were to receive; for there was no Spirit as yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. The Gospel of the Lord Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ! HOMILY Brothers and Sisters, Dear Faithful, Dear Pilgrims, This evening, Jesus is clearly telling us, “Whoever is thirsty may come to Me.” And the question arises, Who is not thirsty? O Jesus, I can tell you on behalf of us all: We are all thirsty! And without You, we really die. Although we are drinking water, we die; because we don’t have Your Spirit, Your Living Water. Therefore, let us pray this evening, indeed, truly, for the power of the Holy Spirit. When Pope John Paul II came to Poland – I like always to start with him – he came on a large square in the Republic; over 1,000,000 Polish people gathered there; cameras were transmitting it; Soviet Union watching it. And then, there was hopelessness, anxiety in Poland, people were dying in anxiety. And John Paul II started to speak before that crowd. And Polish people expected that he was going to be the savior, that the message of salvation would come from him. He had papers in his hands, reading the sermon, but then he stopped. And he said to his people, “Close your eyes.” They closed their eyes – over 1,000,000 of them! And then Pope said, “Come, Holy Spirit. Come, Holy Spirit, and renew the face of the earth!” I would like you all to close your eyes now. Close your eyes. We, too, are going to say today, as the Pope said that day, “Come, Holy Spirit!” What else can we pray this evening, but that prayer? Come, Holy Spirit, and renew the face of the earth! Renew our lives! Renew our lives – all of us who are distressed. We are anxious, always unsatisfied; never have enough of what we think we should have. Come, Holy Spirit, and renew us. Renew your Church! We don’t have our own strength; our whole strength comes from the Holy Spirit. And Holy Spirit came! This evening the wind is blowing! You will say, “It is the wind.” But it is the Holy Spirit that comes in the form of the wind. He is the breeze; Holy Spirit is the breeze of your Life. And when the Soviet Union witnessed that, they laughed, ridiculing the Pope. “What is he saying? What do we have from that prayer, ‘Come, Holy Spirit’?” (Poland had no weapons, and the Soviet Union was full of army and tanks, armored vehicles.) And after the transmission of that mass, “Soviet Union will live for years,” they said to themselves, “Nothing will ruin it, because the Pope did not call to revolution. The people are not going to arm themselves.” People didn’t take weapons, but they took the Rosary in their hands. The Rosary saved the world! Our Lady – of Lourdes, Fatima, Medjugorje – says, “Through that power, the world will be saved! Through prayer!” The world is already saved through Jesus Christ, through His Passion; but you can save it so that it is not destroyed, through prayer, through the Holy Spirit. How are you going to have the Holy Spirit unless you pray? And the power of the Holy Spirit, woke the Polish people up, and Communism declined. We are in the same time of hopelessness and anxiety as once they were. Nobody is happy. People have everything, but they are not happy. People are anxious. We are all thirsty, we hunger. We are competing. And there is no happiness, there is no joy. And we need the power of the Holy Spirit. We need the Holy Spirit to penetrate us. Unless I believe through the Holy Spirit, my faith is in vain. We, priests, here, if we don’t have the Holy Spirit, we are only servants. If you sit here and you have no the Holy Spirit, you are just passing part of the Church. The Church has no use of you. You, while building the Church, just like us priests:  only through the power of the Holy Spirit. The answer to the time in which we live is only one: the Holy Spirit can change the face of the earth. We, Christians, often are anxious and say, “It is over.” But look at the history of the Church. The first three or four centuries, saints like: St. Augustine, Athanasius, Monica, Peter. So, “God, did you leave any saints for the Last Times?” Saints are there in the first three, four centuries of the Church. But today: Mother Teresa, John Paul II, John XXIII, Little Teresa… but that is only a handful. “O God, what have you left to us in our times? Who will guide us?” And then, the Holy Spirit gives us answer: “The Last Time is the Time of the Holy Spirit and Mary.” Church isn’t going to win through saints today. The Church doesn’t need, that much, saints, but, the Power of the Holy Spirit. Like San Giovanni Rotondo, everybody plugged in to Padre Pio. “Oh, we are doing well, we have Padre Pio.” These times are over! God wants EACH ONE of us to be a Prophet! EACH ONE of us to live in the Holy Spirit: to Love, to Live! The time has come for Personal Christianity: YOU have to pray. Don’t expect somebody else to pray for you. People say, “Father, please offer mass for me.” Yes, but you have to come to mass! You have to be on your knees; with your body, be present. You go on a pilgrimage, “Oh, Father, please, will you remember me?” Well, you, too, make a step out of your house and love God. Don’t pass it over onto others. God wants EACH ONE of us to be a Saint; not just a few individuals. All Nations, All Peoples to be Saints. Now, Father Slavko was in Medjugorje. He was praying on Apparition Hill, on Cross Mountain. He prayed Adoration. When he died, people wondered, “What will happen now?” But we are all called to be witnesses. Every priest should go to Apparition Hill, to Cross Mountain – one who loves Mary. You who live here, get up early in the morning and go up Podbrdo and Cross Mountain. You have to bear witness with your life. That is what God is expecting of you: to be the witness, to fall in love with Eucharist. How much have we longed for a mass? For the church not to be closed? Churches are opened. There is no greater strength than the power of the Holy Eucharist. At the Last Supper, Jesus said to the Apostles, “I will be handed over.” Their community was falling apart. They were dispersed. Judas betrayed him; hanged himself. Peter, three times denied him. They were without hope. And what did Jesus tell them? “When there is no future, when you are dispersed…” what will unite you? …the Economy? Oh no. …your fishing nets? No. “Do this, in memory of me,” Jesus told them. That will wake you up! That is your future: The Eucharist. “Peter,” Jesus says to him, “I will pray for you, because you are without Faith. But, when I give you Faith, when you come to your senses, wake your brothers up! Celebrate Holy Mass; celebrate the Eucharist. That is your Hope!” When people say, “Father, we don’t have hope.” But this is your Hope! This Piece of Bread and a Drop of Jesus’ Blood – that is the future of the world! It is said here in the readings, “Who sees hope?” That is not hope. We believe this is Jesus. You have to believe that Host – the Consecrated Host – is the Body of Christ, and this Wine is His Precious Blood. It will not happen in a visible way that you can see it. You can just see it with Faith. Politics will not save us. We have Programs; we have Projects. Well, that will not save me. If you draw my future and assure me a better existence; that is not hope. Hope cannot be drawn. Hope cannot be put in Programs; but in God. This is why God has not abandoned the world: God loves us all! And God is sending the power and the force of the Holy Spirit so that we may ALL be transformed. The Disciples say, “Jesus, are you the one we are waiting for? Or are we to wait for somebody else. Tell us, are you the one?” Look at this world. We would like to know. Euthanasia. Abortion. I said last time, Covid, Covid is here, abortions are done nevertheless; what is worse, even more. Oh, Jesus! You have come into the worst time haven’t you? Have you come really when all this evil is done? Jews say, “Jesus didn’t come. We do not believe in Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Another Messiah will come. When he comes, then we shall believe. Because, your Jesus of Nazareth, for 2,000 years, it has been seen, that He is a false prophet: nothing is changed.” Christians say, “What am I doing in the Church? In the Western Civilization, people are leaving the Church in great numbers. And the world might think that maybe Jesus did not come into this world. So, we ask you, Jesus, this evening, have you really come into this world? Mary, have you really appeared here? Because what change do we have here? A few houses built, but no change.” We don’t see, through you, somebody is appearing here. We measure God’s coming with our own evil. Because I am doing evil, God has not come. I am doing evil, so Our Lady is not appearing. My evil is not the measure of God’s coming. God has truly come. God has come into this world. But the writer C.S. Lewis said, “God will not do an invasion as the world is doing.” The world is invading our lives, controlling us. They are really, really belittling our human dignity. God does not do that. “I am not going to invade,” God says, “But I will come at the end of Time.  At the End of History, I will come in power and force. It is said in Revelation, ‘…and I will show my real face.’ I will show what is the Kingdom of God, and what is the Power.”  God has created this world, and He will overtake it.  The last Judgment Day, He will invade; and it will be horrifying for many. Why is not God doing it now? That (pointing at the Eucharist in the Tabernacle), is His invasion at this time; and there is nothing better than Holy Eucharist! God does not change the way He Loves You. The Eucharist has its value for the last 2,000 years.  God will not change it. The Eucharist is that Quiet Love you are to believe in. When marriage is in crisis, they say, “He doesn’t love me as he used to.” So, what do you do? “Well, I will take my wife, now, on holiday. I will buy her something.” He is changing his attitude in order to refresh their love. But God does not act that way. He is God! And He says, “For 2,000 years,” He is telling us, “until I come in my Final Glory I will Love you always in the same way:  through the Eucharist. I cannot give you better than the Eucharist.” Eucharist! Our Lady says, here, “I cannot give you better Love than to bring you to My Son Jesus and to give you the Rosary.” Many expected theological tracts, the depths. It is not the Blessed Mother because this message is not deep; it’s far too simple. It’s so simple that even a child can understand it. Well, Our Lady will not change her way of speaking. For 40 years, she has been with us; it is the same way. She speaks in the same way. God loves in the same way. “Pray. Participate in Holy Mass. Go for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.” The message of the Blessed Mother perseveres. There is no oscillation. In the midst of the crisis with Covid, people ask, “What does Mary say?” If you read the last messages, it is as if she was not aware of our anxieties. And she never mentioned one word; because, that disease is nothing. It exists, but it is not the key. Jesus is the key! Our Lady speaks of Her Son; because without Him, there is nothing: He is our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why the Holy Spirit has to come: for us to wake up. To understand that Jesus is already giving us His Love, but we are blind to it. That is the awakening. Until the Holy Spirit descended upon them, the Apostles were closed. They saw Jesus. The Risen Christ says to them, “Peace be with you,” but nevertheless, they remained closed. Apostles were not transformed by seeing the Risen Christ. St. Thomas put his finger into His Wounds, “My God, My Everything!” But Thomas remained the same; there was no change. We can say the same, “Oh, Medjugorje was wonderful. I prayed.  I went for confession. Our Lady is here. But there is no change in me. I keep on coming here, Father.”     “Why do you keep on coming?” “To confess.”     “And has this place changed you?” “Yes, while I’m here. But as soon as I return there where I live, anxiety overwhelms me. I am the same.”     “Holy Spirit has not overtaken you.” That is the change that we all need: for the Holy Spirit to overtake us.  That the Apparition Hill – Podbrdo, the Cross Mountain, would never be empty without people. Like the early days of Apparitions – shoulder-to-shoulder, knee-to-knee – there would be crowds of people praying. All the praying we do, it will still not be all; we would like more. And now, people say, “Well, one hour of Holy Mass, that’s enough.” And the other one who is praying with the Holy Spirit remains in prayer for four hours and would still continue. Look at this place: This place is made for prayer. Walking through the fields to Apparition Hill, Cross Mountain, and Church in the center. Everything here reminds us of prayer. But that prayer, you have to live in your household as well. The Church is in need of the Holy Spirit. We don’t accept the Holy Spirit. I don’t know about my brothers, priests, but I can say for myself, it’s easier to work in the office and give documents than to bear witness for the Risen Christ. It is easier to be a clerk that has time also for his recreation than to bear witness at all times and every place. Therefore, I will finish with the words of prayer, “Come, Holy Spirit, and renew the face of the earth!” We know, O Lord, that you are already present in our lives. As Padre Pio says, “Jesus already died for you. Do not expect Jesus to go on the Cross again, because He never left the Cross. He is already on it.” Come, Holy Spirit, help us to recognize with our own eyes, that Crucified Love. May we recognize Mother’s presence here for the last 40 years. May we learn how to surrender our lives only to You, Lord Jesus Christ, and believe in You completely, trusting in You.  Because, there is no other name in Heaven and Earth through which we can be saved, but through the Power of the Holy Spirit, and the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. https://marytv.tv/evening-international-mass-2/?smid=ima31dsYQt4&slid=KdArKwrWsDO In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2021

May 23, 2021 Reflection – Pentecost Sunday!

Come Holy Spirit! May 23, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! This is the Feast of Pentecost!! We pray that the whole Church will receive a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit today. And especially, we ask that the Mary TV Family will be flooded with the Grace of the Holy Spirit! Our Lady says to us: Friday, October 21, 1983 “The important thing is to pray to the Holy Spirit, so that He may descend on you. When one has Him, one has everything.” At Holy Mass today, we will hear this wonderful Sequence: Veni, Sancte Spiritus. It is most powerful in Latin. But we can pray it in English as the culmination of our novena. Vene Sancte Spiritus Come, Holy Spirit, come! and from Your celestial home Shed a ray of light divine! Come, Father of the poor! Come, Source of all our store! Come within our bosoms shine. You, of comforters the best; You, the soul’s most welcome guest; Sweet refreshment here below; In our labor, rest most sweet: Grateful coolness in the heat; solace in the midst of woe. O most blessed Light divine, Shine within these hearts of yours, And our inmost being fill! Where you are not, we have naught, Nothing good in deed or thought, Nothing free from taint of ill. Heal our wounds, our strength renew; On our dryness pour your dew; Wash the stains of guilt away. Bend the stubborn heart and will; Melt the frozen, warm the chill; Guide the steps that go astray. On the faithful, who adore And confess you, evermore In your sevenfold gift descend: Give them virtue’s sure reward: Give them your salvation, Lord: Give them joys that never end. Amen. Alleluia. Blessed Pentecost!!! In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2021

May 22, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 9

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 9 May 22, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 9 Our Lady prays to the Holy Spirit for us: June 25, 2002 “Dear children! Today I pray for you and with you that the Holy Spirit may help you and increase your faith, so that you may accept even more the messages that I am giving you here in this holy place. Little children, comprehend that this is a time of grace for each of you; and with me, little children, you are secure. I desire to lead you all on the way of holiness. Live my messages and put into life every word that I am giving you. May they be precious to you because they come from Heaven. Thank you for having responded to my call.” In this message, Our Lady tells us she is praying for us and with us that the Holy Spirit may help us and increase our faith, so that we will be able to accept even more the messages she is giving us in Medjugorje, this holy place!! She is asking her great Spouse, the Holy Spirit, to anoint us, open our minds and increase our faith, so we can understand what she is saying to us in her messages. She needs His help and so do we!! Certainly Our Lady receives these messages from the Father and Jesus, through the Holy Spirit. She then gives them to us through her visionaries. But the process isn’t finished until we receive the messages with open hearts, anointed and ready to receive them in the power of the Holy Spirit!! Only with the help of the Holy Spirit can we accept the messages more deeply. Our Lady, the Queen of Peace, has been with us for nearly 40 years, giving us messages from her heart, messages of faith, hope, love, peace, joy, truth, correction and consolation. She has faithfully spoken to us through her visionaries, desiring that we become part of the great plan for the world that God has been enacting through her. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to help us and increase our faith, so that we can accept and live Our Lady’s messages more deeply than ever before in this time of grace. The world needs Our Lady of Medjugorje, and we are her messengers, those who live her messages with the heart, who listen to the Holy Spirit and do that which He inspires us to do! The Paraclete, the Fount of Love (A prayer by St. John Henry Newman) My God, I adore You, as the Third Person of the Ever-Blessed Trinity, under the name and designation of Love. You are that Living Love, wherewith the Father and the Son love each other. And You are the Author of supernatural love in our hearts. “Fons vivus, ignis, charitas.” (Fount of life, fire and love) As a fire You came down from heaven on the day of Pentecost; and as a fire You burn away the dross of sin and vanity in the heart and light up the pure flame of devotion and affection. It is You who unite heaven and earth by showing to us the glory and beauty of the Divine Nature, and making us love what is in Itself so winning and transporting. I adore You, O uncreated and everlasting Fire, by which our souls live, by which alone they are made fit for heaven. Amen Come Holy Spirit Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blest, and in our souls take up Thy rest; come with Thy grace and heavenly aid to fill the hearts which Thou hast made. O Comforter, to Thee we cry, O heavenly gift of God Most High, O Fount of Life and Fire of Love, and Sweet Anointing from above. Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known; Thou, finger of God’s hand we own; Thou, promise of the Father, Thou Who dost the tongue with power imbue. Kindle our senses from above, and make our hearts o’erflow with love; with patience firm and virtue high the weakness of our flesh supply. Far from us drive the foe we dread, and grant us Thy peace instead; so shall we not, with Thee for guide, turn from the path of life aside. Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow the Father and the Son to know; and Thee, through endless times confessed, of both the eternal Spirit blest. Now to the Father and the Son, Who rose from death, be glory given, with Thou, O Holy Comforter, henceforth by all in earth and heaven. Amen In Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Cathy Nolan (c)Mary TV 2021

May 21, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 8

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 8 May 21, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 8 Our Lady speaks about the Spirit working in our families: April 25, 2005 “Dear children! Also today, I call you to renew prayer in your families. By prayer and the reading of Sacred Scripture, may the Holy Spirit, who will renew you, enter into your families. In this way, you will become teachers of the faith in your family. By prayer and your love, the world will set out on a better way and love will begin to rule in the world. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady tells us in this message that if we renew prayer in our families, if we read Scripture in our families, the Holy Spirit will come and will renew our families!! I have never thought of this before. It is a tremendous thing to invite the Holy Spirit into our families. What a welcome guest!! The Holy Spirit can do everything we cannot. He can transform our children, and our marriages! I remember how difficult it was to begin prayer in our family. When we first discovered Our Lady of Medjugorje, we were not praying the Rosary as a family, and family prayer was difficult. But when we began to read our Lady’s messages, family prayer began to take shape. We prayed the Holy Rosary and read Scripture. It was really hard work for Denis and me. But it did pay off. We began to see the signs of life in our children. Now, family prayer is not magic. Our children had to find each their own way with God. And it has not been easy. But I do see the Holy Spirit’s hand in their lives, and in Denis and my life as well. Family prayer is such a beautiful gift to give your spouse and your children. It is a life boat for each member of the family. It is a way of inscribing in each one’s heart that God exists and that He wants to be near them. Family prayer is a work of the Holy Spirit, bringing life and joy! Our Lady knows what she is talking about! She and Joseph and Jesus must have prayed together each day. Imagine that!! And here is her amazing promise: By prayer and your love, the world will set out on a better way and love will begin to rule in the world. Through our decision to pray, the Holy Spirit will build prayer and love in our families, and the world will set out on a better way, one family at a time. It is the only way. One family at a time! Dearest Mother, please help us to begin or strengthen our family prayer, so that the Holy Spirit will come into our family and by our prayer and love, the world will set out on a better way and love will begin to rule in the world! The Paraclete, the Fount of Love (A prayer by St. John Henry Newman) My God, I adore You, as the Third Person of the Ever-Blessed Trinity, under the name and designation of Love. May 20, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 7

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 7 May 20, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 7 Our Lady speaks about the Spirit’s wisdom for each of us: May 25, 2001 “Dear children! At this time of grace, I call you to prayer. Little children, you work much but without God’s blessing. Bless and seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to lead you at this time so that you may comprehend and live in the grace of this time. Convert, little children, and kneel in the silence of your hearts. Put God in the center of your being so that, in that way, you can witness in joy the beauty that God continually gives in your life. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady tells us that we need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to lead us during the time we are living in. Why? We need to comprehend what God is doing in our day, and cooperate with Him in what He is doing!! The grace of this time is unique. God’s plan moves apace, and we can either move with it or oppose it. It is up to us! How do we discover the grace of this time? Convert, little children, and kneel in the silence of your hearts. We must convert, which is turning towards God and away from our own preoccupations. To turn towards God is only possible if we kneel – which means we recognize God is our Lord and Creator, and He alone has the way to life. Then we wait in silence, in our hearts, for the Holy Spirit to show us what the grace of our time is. Wait and pray!! That is the way to discover the grace of this time! “Put God in the center of your being so that, in that way, you can witness in joy the beauty that God continually gives in your life.” Once we have turned towards God anew, we will begin to see the grace of this time through the Holy Spirit’s inspiration! He will show us the joy and beauty that God is giving to us. This kind of sight is wisdom. Come, Holy Spirit, and help us to seek your wisdom, so that you will lead us in this time of grace! We want to convert and in the silence of our hearts, choose life! The Paraclete, the Fount of Love (A prayer by St. John Henry Newman) My God, I adore You, as the Third Person of the Ever-Blessed Trinity, under the name and designation of Love. You are that Living Love, wherewith the Father and the Son love each other. May 19, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 6

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 6 May 19, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 6 Our Lady speaks about the Spirit’s plan for each of us: May 25, 1998 “Dear children! Today I call you, through prayer and sacrifice, to prepare yourselves for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Little children, this is a time of grace and so, again, I call you to decide for God the Creator. Allow Him to transform and change you. May your heart be prepared to listen to, and live, everything which the Holy Spirit has in His plan for each of you. Little children, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you on the way of truth and salvation towards eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call.” In this message, Our Lady makes it very clear that we need to be led by the Holy Spirit into the plan that the Father has for each one of us. We have been created by God to be a gift! Our life is a gift to us! And who we are as a person is a gift to our families, our communities and our world. Each one of us has been given a certain array of qualities and abilities that shape how we can be a gift for others. But we have also been given free will! So it is important that we seek the plan that God has for each one of us, so that we can be that gift of love, just like Jesus was. The Holy Spirit can lead us in that process, that plan for our lives, if we ask Him to come and guide us. But we must pray, and prepare ourselves, as Our Lady says, for the Holy Spirit to speak to us about it! He will speak! He comes to dwell in our hearts, and can become our most welcome guest, the one who travels with us on the road to holiness and love. The Holy Spirit knows that plan for our lives, and He can lead us on “the way of truth and salvation towards eternal life” if we ask Him to do it! Jesus ascended so that the Holy Spirit could come and do just that! He will come to show us the plan for our life! I adore You, O uncreate and everlasting Fire, by which our souls live, by which alone they are made fit for heaven.

May 18, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 5

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 5 May 18, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 5 Our Lady speaks about the Spirit and prayer: May 25, 2003 “Dear children! Also today I call you to prayer. Renew your personal prayer, and in a special way pray to the Holy Spirit to help you pray with the heart. I intercede for all of you, little children, and call all of you to conversion. If you convert, all those around you will also be renewed and prayer will be a joy for them. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Our Lady calls us to prayer. Prayer is one of her first priorities for us. Why? Because without prayer we can never give our lives over to God. We can never learn and live God’s will for us. We will never find peace and hope in God. Prayer should be like breathing for us. Prayer is our life source. And notice what she tells us to do: Renew your personal prayer, and in a special way pray to the Holy Spirit to help you pray with the heart. We must renew our personal prayer, which means to make a new and definite commitment to pray every day. And then, ask the Holy Spirit to teach us how to pray with the heart!! Prayer with the heart is a conversation with God. The Holy Spirit is God! He can teach us how to converse with Himself, with Jesus and with the Father. The Holy Spirit can even pray in us, with His own words as it says in Romans: “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26) We want the Spirit to pray in us and through us, because He will pray for what is most necessary: “And He who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:27) Truly we need the Holy Spirit to come and pray in us!! Mother, please pray for us to receive the Holy Spirit of Prayer, that we can pray as we ought! The Paraclete, the Fount of Love (A prayer by St. John Henry Newman) My God, I adore You, as the Third Person of the Ever-Blessed Trinity, under the name and designation of Love. You are that Living Love, wherewith the Father and the Son love each other. May 17, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 4

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 4 May 17, 2021 Dear Family of Mary! This is Day 4 the Novena to the Holy Spirit. Today we ask for an outpouring of God’s love in our lives, through the Holy Spirit! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 4 Our Lady speaks about Love and the Holy Spirit: April 2, 2014 “Dear children, with a motherly love I desire to help you with your life of prayer and penance to be a sincere attempt at drawing closer to my Son and His divine light – that you may know how to separate yourselves from sin. Every prayer, every Mass and every fasting is an attempt at drawing closer to my Son, a reminder of His glory and a refuge from sin – it is a way to a renewed union of the good Father and His children. Therefore, my dear children, with hearts open and full of love, cry out the name of the Heavenly Father that He may illuminate you with the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit you will become a spring of God’s love. All those who do not know my Son, all those thirsting for the love and peace of my Son, will drink from this spring. Thank you. Pray for your shepherds. I pray for them and I desire that they may always feel the blessing of my motherly hands and the support of my motherly heart.” In this message Our Lady calls us to separate from the world, and live a life of prayer and penance. Why? She wants us to be free of all influences that would distract us from God and lead us to sin. And then, she wants us to cry out to the Heavenly Father, for Him to fill us with the Holy Spirit! “Father, send us your Holy Spirit!” She tells us, “Through the Holy Spirit you will become a spring of God’s love!” Of ourselves, we do not have much love to give. We are weak and vulnerable. But when the Holy Spirit fills us we become channels of God’s love, the most powerful love in the universe!! She says: “All those who do not know my Son, all those thirsting for the love and peace of my Son, will drink from this spring.” Imagine if we all became springs of living water, springs of the flowing love of God to all we meet!! Imagine how the world would change!! Mother, help us to cry out to the Heavenly Father to be illuminated by the Holy Spirit so that we can become springs of living water, the Love of God! The Paraclete, the Fount of Love (A prayer by St. John Henry Newman) My God, I adore You, as the Third Person of the Ever-Blessed Trinity, under the name and designation of Love. You are that Living Love, wherewith the Father and the Son love each other. May 16, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 3

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 3 May 16, 2021 Seventh Sunday of Easter Dear Family of Mary! This is Day 3 the Novena to the Holy Spirit. It will consist of a message from Our Lady of Medjugorje, a prayer written by St. John Henry Newman, and the famous prayer, Come Holy Spirit, Creator Blest. We can all include our own petitions! Let’s expect great things on Pentecost! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 3 April 25, 2015 “Dear children! I am with you also today to lead you to salvation. Your soul is restless because your spirit is weak and tired from all worldly things. You, little children, pray to the Holy Spirit that He may transform you and fill you with His strength of faith and hope, so that you may be firm in this battle against evil. I am with you and intercede for you before my Son Jesus. Thank you for having responded to my call…” On this message, Our Lady recognizes that our souls can become restless and our spirits weak and tired due to the stresses and concerns of the world. Many of those stresses are due to the activity of the evil one. Fighting him, we must cling to our hope as the answer to all his lies and temptations. Our hope will sustain us in good and in prayer. Through hope, we await the deliverance of the Lord, joyfully! In the Catechism of the Catholic Church it says: 1817 Hope is the theological virtue by which we desire the kingdom of heaven and eternal life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ’s promises and relying not on our own strength, but on the help of the grace of the Holy Spirit. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” “The Holy Spirit . . . he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life.” Thank you, dearest Mother, for giving us your hope, the hope that comes from Heaven in your heart! Through your hope and the power of the Holy Spirit we will grow in hope, and win every battle! The Paraclete, the Fount of Love (A prayer by St. John Henry Newman) My God, I adore You, as the Third Person of the Ever-Blessed Trinity, under the name and designation of Love. You are that Living Love, wherewith the Father and the Son love each other. May 15, 2021 Reflection -Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 2

Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 2 May 15, 2021 St. Isidore Dear Family of Mary! This is Day 2 the Novena to the Holy Spirit. It will consist of a message from Our Lady of Medjugorje, a prayer written by St. John Henry Newman, and the famous prayer, Come Holy Spirit, Creator Blest. We can all include our own petitions! Let’s expect great things on Pentecost! Novena to the Holy Spirit, Day 2 September 25, 2015 “Dear children! Also today I am praying to the Holy Spirit to fill your hearts with a strong faith. Prayer and faith will fill your heart with love and joy and you will be a sign for those who are far from God. Little children, encourage each other to prayer with the heart, so that prayer may fulfill your life; and each day, you, little children, will be, above all, witnesses of serving God in adoration and of your neighbor in need. I am with you and intercede for all of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.” The Gift and Virtue of Faith is really the foundation for all the other virtues. When we receive the Holy Spirit we begin to really believe in Jesus, and through Him discover the Father! Then the door opens to the real world, the world of life with God for eternity. Everything we have misunderstood in our lives becomes clear and comprehensible. We see that we are creatures of a loving God. We see that life makes sense in terms of the commandments. And we begin the journey towards love and joy! In prayer, we must daily ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill us with His light, so that our faith will continue to grow and our understanding of the Truth and the Good will strengthen. Then we too can help our neighbors to believe!! Thank you, dearest Mother for coming to help us receive the Holy Spirit and in Him, the gift of Faith! The Paraclete, the Fount of Love (A prayer by St. John Henry Newman) My God, I adore You, as the Third Person of the Ever-Blessed Trinity, under the name and designation of Love.
