St. John Chrysostom
Dear Family of Mary!

Message of September 2, 2016

“Dear children, according to the will of my Son and my motherly love, I am coming to you, my children, but especially to those who have not yet come to know the love of my Son. I am coming to you who think of me and who invoke me. To you, I am giving my motherly love and I am carrying the blessing of my Son. Do you have pure and open hearts, and do you see the gifts, the signs of my presence and love?…”

Didn’t Mary come to Elizabeth and didn’t Elizabeth receive a great gift:

“And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, ‘Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?'” (Lk 1:42-43)

We could say the same thing because Mary is coming to us with the same haste and the same love that she had in coming to Elizabeth. She is coming to us carrying the blessing of her Son, as she came to Elizabeth and little John. We should be leaping for joy! We should be filled with the Holy Spirit, exclaiming “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!” In fact, we do say this many times each day when we pray our Rosary! This cry is the cry of joy that is released when Mary comes to us! We are filled with the joy of her presence and the power of the Holy Spirit when she comes.

But she seems to be a bit disappointed with our response. We may not see the gifts she brings and the signs of her presence of love. Our hearts may be hard and closed. Her coming may not bear fruit as it should. Unlike John the Baptist, we are not pure enough to soak up the graces coming to us with our Mother. What can be done? Our Lady gives us the answer:

“My children, in your earthly life, be led by my example. My life was pain, silence and immeasurable faith and trust in the Heavenly Father. Nothing is by chance: neither pain, nor joy, nor suffering, nor love. All of these are graces which my Son grants to you and which lead you to eternal life. Of you, my Son asks for love and prayer in Him. As a mother I will teach you: to love and to pray in Him means to pray in the silence of your soul and not only reciting with your lips; it is even the least beautiful gesture done in the name of my Son – it is patience, mercy, the acceptance of pain and sacrifice done for the sake of another…”

We can grow in our purity and openness, our ability to see and receive the gifts she brings and the signs of her presence and love. She will teach us. She will guide us and show us how to become able to receive her coming and gifts. She continues to teach us:

“My children, my Son is looking at you. Pray that you also may see His face and that it may be revealed to you. My children, I am revealing to you the only and real truth. Pray that you may comprehend it and be able to spread love and hope; that you may be able to be apostles of my love…”

Our Lady wants to make us apostles of her love. She wants us to see her Son, face to face! She needs us because it will be through us that many other souls will find the way to eternal life. We must respond to her coming like Elizabeth, and be filled with the Spirit like John. Then we will be able to help her.

“In a special way, my motherly heart loves the shepherds. Pray for their blessed hands. Thank you.”

(September 2, 2016)

Of course it is our priests who make all this possible through the Sacraments they give to us. Our gratitude should be great.

So with each Hail Mary we pray, let’s realize that Our Lady is coming to us, and bringing all of heaven with her, so that we can be transformed.  And let’s respond like Elizabeth and John, with a bit of leaping!!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

The Most Holy Name of Mary!
Dear Family of Mary!

On this wonderful day we honor Most Holy Name of Mary!  In Luke 1:27 it says “And the virgin’s name was Mary”

Our salvation begins when an archangel speaks the name of Mary. To be Christian is to carry on that Annunciation unceasingly. Saint Louis de Montfort wrote that “the salvation of each inpidual is bound up with the Hail Mary.” This prayer that names the holy name of the Mother of God brought to a dry and barren world .the Fruit of Life. It will cause the Word of God to take root in the soul and bring forth Jesus. The holy name of Mary bears such power because of the unique bond between Mother and Son. ?When God sent his Son born of a woman, he instituted a once and for all order of salvation in which the union of Mother and Child stands at the center” (Romanus Cessario). To accept the pine privilege of speaking the name of Mary is to participate in that saving union. (from Magnificat September 12, 2016)

We have no idea how powerful the name of our Mother is!  But I always love to share this story of how Our Lady saved a priest’s vocation”

Priest Leonid, redemptorist from Ukraine province, participated in the 15th International seminar for priest in Medjugorje and gave the testimony, first to the other participants and then to Radio Station Mir Medjugorje. We publish the testimony as it was given:

My first pilgrimage to Medjugorje was related to my obligations and to my occupation in the priest vocation. Namely, in 2005 local Church entrusted me with huge responsibility and gave me heavy burden to carry and that was service of exorcist. The first months and the very first year were filled with God’s love and grace, but also with great difficulties and temptations.

One of the major difficulties took place during one session of exorcism over one possessed person. That person spoke to me in very rough voice, full of horror in these words: “I am horrible, I am powerful, and I will destroy you. I will destroy your priesthood and all of your life.” Although that was quite bad, I did not take that seriously at all. After all, I believed in God completely and I did not have any reasons to doubt that. I also knew that if I had fear in front of the Satan that would be as if I already lost something. But God allowed this situation to take place, and I am going to share with you how great and how mighty his Mother is, and how Medjugorje is sacred ground.

When I was in great pain, when I suffered and when I was tempted daily, I was not able to pray at all. I would go to confession every single day, but Satan tempted me all the times. The temptations were so strong that I lost peace in my soul completely. And not only that, I also felt that I lost my priesthood and my vocation. I felt that was complete and total destruction of my life.

In that difficult reality, while I was still unable to figure out what was happening to me, somebody offered me to come to Medjugorje. And I came. I was with a group of priests. I was just not able to pray, not even when they prayed. During that pilgrimage I met one other priest, Father Ambrosias from Slovakia. He completely sacrificed his life and his vocation working with people from Ukraine in the region of Carpatho – Ukraine. He traveled soon after a heart attack, and he also had diabetes. He was a Franciscan priest who came to Medjugorje five times before that. He absolutely thrilled me with his life and humbleness. He became my friend, I would help him around, take him by the hand, as he was older man. It appeared as I was helping to him, but the truth was that it was the other way round.

We were once climbing up the Hill of Apparitions and it was to be the apparition to one of the visionaries. Everything was packed with people, priests. I sat next to Fr. Ambrosias and I turned my back to the apparition site. I felt myself not worthy of being there at all. But during the time of the Rosary, I felt a desire to look towards that direction, to see what was happening there. At the same time, as I felt that desire, another inner voice was saying to me not to look there. You are failure and you will end up in hell, I heard. It was horrible.

Those first, positive feelings directed my look towards the apparition site. I started to look and I was searching for a sign. Maybe I was to see something at the end. Hope was being born in me slowly, but also more new arguments about how my humiliation was not to be changed. But, I believed in the crucial moment. Just for a moment. And in that very moment, as the answer to all of the questions ever rose, I was able to feel how Our Lady was coming down, from Heaven to this world. It was horrible in that moment. Such a powerful perception, scent of the other world I used to feel up to that point. And then, I was appeased by a certain gentleness, light touch, like a gentle breeze of Our Lady’s presence.

She was coming closer to me. And as She was closer to me, the power of evil was disappearing. In my heart I experienced new revelation. I was able to experience how powerful Her presence is, how she was humble.  Then I realized that She does not cast away evil spirits, but they ran themselves. The are not able to bear Her purity and beauty of Her presence. She does not humiliate them nor She sends them away. She simply loves them and they can not stand that!

And then, change of spirits within me took place. Spirit of Satan, spirit that destroys, disappeared with all of his depressions and fears. Instead of that spirit, Our Lady’s spirit took place. In my heart, I heard the voice: “Do not be afraid, I am your mother! I am your guarantee that you will not be destroyed, that you will not fail.” Everything was changed. That experience of presence of Our Blessed Mother became a miracle of love that saves me, my vocation and my life! I started to feel Our Lady’s presence in every exorcism I perform.

I will just share one little example, since there are many similar ones. Our priests were dealing with one possessed girl who came to confess in front of one young priest who just returned after his studies in Rome. And as he was saying the absolution words, that person, Satan in that person hit that priest so hard that he felt down immediately. Then, the same person started calling other priest in some strange voice. That priest was scared and he called me. After a few moments that girl was in front of me and I started to pray over her. As I began exorcism, I knew the diagnosis straight away, the girl was severely possessed and I invited five devoted faithful to pray as well.

As I recited traditional prayers of exorcism, Satan just laughed. It spoke to me in English language, humiliated me and constantly laughed at me. Then, I began to pray to Our Lady. I was totally exhausted. I began to be nervous as well. I felt that I need to finish my prayer, but the evil spirit was not going away. It was the spirit of suicide. I began to call Our Lady with all of my heart. In the same way as the child calls his mom. And real screaming began at those moments: ” I can not stay here any longer, Our Lady is here, I need to go away.” And the spirit was gone.

This was just one situation and there are so many similar ones. During these five years, as I have been entrusted the service of exorcism, I experience many temptations and trials. I had those before; I know I will have those in the future as well. But, Our Lady keeps me in Her heart. I CAN NO LONGER LIVE WITHOUT MEDJUGORJE AND JERUSALEM. I need to be in Medjugorje and Jerusalem every year. That is what faith is for me. Here I have faith, blessing and grace.

I am grateful to dear God that I am able to witness Our Lady’s grace in this way. I would like each one of us to want to love more our Blessed Mother, Mother of God. She is our Mother. She loves Her children. She is prepared to do anything Her children ask of Her. I feel that if it wasn’t for Her presence, we would all be destroyed. That is why we should try to live every second of our lives with Her. I feel personal invitation to help other people to come to Medjugorje. To bring here all of those people who experience tremendous spiritual suffering.”

At the end, priest Leonid blessed all of the listeners of Radio Mir.

http://www.medjugorje.hr/en/news/the-priest-exorcist—i-can-no-longer-live-without-medjugorje,3102.html

I believe Fr. Leonid.  I believe that if it were not for her coming to us in Medjugorje, being present to us there, we would be destroyed.  In light of this, I want to again recommend to you all to go to Medjugorje if you can.

May the Holy Name of Mary be on our lips and in our hearts always!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Dear Family of Mary!

August 22, 1985

“Dear children! Today I wish to tell you that God wants to send you trials which you can overcome by prayer. God is testing you through daily chores. Now pray to peacefully withstand every trial. From everything through which God tests you come out more open to God and approach Him with love. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

I pulled this message from my box of messages for us today. Our Lady must want to talk to us about trials. We all are enduring trials in these days. It is part of our Christian life. Because we love and live out our commitment to love our families, communities, neighbors and countries, we make ourselves open to trials. But in this way we can help Jesus to show others that He loves them. Our Lady doesn’t seem to be worried about trials. “Now pray to peacefully withstand every trail.” She tells us we will come out stronger from them. Not to worry! God is in charge!

Here are five more messages in which Our Lady talks to us about trials. We could use these messages for our Rosary today, and let her teach us how to triumph over our difficulties through prayer and love.

Holy Thursday, April 19, 1984

To Jelena:
“I’m going to reveal a spiritual secret to you: if you want to be stronger than evil, make yourself a plan of personal prayer. Take a certain time in the morning, read a text from Holy Scripture, anchor the Divine word in your heart, and strive to live it during the day, particularly during the moment of trials. In this way, you will be stronger than evil.”

March 25 2010
“Dear children! Also today I desire to call you all to be strong in prayer and in the moments when trials attack you. Live your Christian vocation in joy and humility and witness to everyone. I am with you and I carry you all before my Son Jesus, and He will be your strength and support. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

October 2, 2008
“Dear children; Again I call you to faith. My motherly heart desires for your heart to be open, so that it could say to your heart: believe. My children, only faith will give you strength in life’s trials. It will renew your soul and open the way of hope. I am with you. I gather you around me because I desire to help you, so that you can help your neighbors to discover faith, which is the only joy and happiness of life. Thank you.”

September 2, 2010
“Dear children; I am beside you because I desire to help you to overcome trials, which this time of purification puts before you. My children, one of those is not to forgive, and not to ask for forgiveness. Every sin offends love and distances you from it and love is my Son. Therefore, my children, if you desire to walk with me towards the peace of God’s love, you must learn to forgive and to ask for forgiveness. Thank you.”

August 2, 2011
“Dear children; Today I call you to be born anew in prayer and through the Holy Spirit, to become a new people with my Son; a people who knows that if they have lost God, they have lost themselves; a people who knows that, with God, despite all sufferings and trials, they are secure and saved. I call you to gather into God’s family and to be strengthened with the Father’s strength. As individuals, my children, you cannot stop the evil that wants to begin to rule in this world and to destroy it. But, according to God’s will, all together, with my Son, you can change everything and heal the world. I call you to pray with all your heart for your shepherds, because my Son chose them. Thank you.”

Mother, thank you for showing us that “despite all sufferings and trials, [we] are secure and saved.” Thank you for teaching us how to live in God and His peace.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Dear Family of Mary!

When Jakov wished Our Lady a happy birthday on this day in 1981 she answered him:

Tuesday, September 8, 1981

Jakov wishes the Blessed Virgin a happy birthday. She answers:

“It is for me a beautiful day. With respect to you, persevere in the faith and in prayer. Do not be afraid. Remain in joy. It is my desire. Let joy appear on your faces. I will continue to protect Father Jozo.”

Our Lady receives with joy the remembrance of her birth by the Church.  Our love and praise of Mary makes her happy!  We can give her a beautiful day by loving her.

But she responded to Jakov with motherly care.  She told him to do several things. Remember this was the first year of the Apparitions, and Jakov was a little boy.  What did she say?

Persevere in faith and in prayer.

Do not be afraid.

Remain in joy.

Let joy appear on your faces.

The little visionary needed to hear these words.  He had been interrogated, watched, followed, and suspected by the police.  His whole life had been turned upside down by the apparitions.  Every night he was at church, greeting Our Lady and praying at Holy Mass.  He needed to be encouraged and directed by Our Lady.

I think we need the very same advice from Mother Mary today!  She is a sure guide for each of us on our way to heaven.

St. Louis de Montfort tells us that Mary is the Secure Way to God:

Rest assured that the more you turn to Mary in your prayers, meditations, actions and sufferings, seeing her if not perhaps clearly and distinctly, at least in a general and indistinct way, the more surely you will discover Jesus. For he is always greater, more powerful, more active, and more mysterious when acting through Mary than he is in any other creature in the universe, or even in heaven. Thus Mary, so divinely-favored and so lost in God, is far from being an obstacle to good people who are striving for union with him. There has never been and there never will be a creature so ready to help us in achieving that union more effectively, for she will dispense to us all the graces to attain that end. As a saint once remarked, “Only Mary  knows how to fill our minds with the thought of God.”Moreover, Mary will safeguard us against the deception and cunning of the evil one.

Where Mary is present, the evil one is absent. One of the unmistakable signs that a person is led by the Spirit of God is the devotion he has to Mary, and his habit of thinking and speaking of her. This is the opinion of a saint, who goes on to say that just as breathing is a proof that the body is not dead,so the habitual thought of Mary and loving converse with her is a proof that the soul is not spiritually dead in sin.

Since Mary alone has crushed all heresies, as we are told by the Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Office of B.V.M.), a devoted servant of hers will never fall into formal heresy or error, though critics may contest this. He may very well err materially, mistaking lies for truth or an evil spirit for a good one, but he will be less likely to do this than others. Sooner or later he will discover his error and will not go on stubbornly believing and maintaining what he mistakenly thought was the truth.

Whoever then wishes to advance along the road to holiness and be sure of encountering the true Christ, without fear of the illusions which afflict many devout people, should take up “with valiant heart and willing spirit” this devotion to Mary which perhaps he had not previously heard about. Even if it is new to him, let him enter upon this excellent way which I am now revealing to him. “I will show you a more excellent way.”  (True Devotion to Mary. Par 165-168)

Our Lady is with us to show us the way to her Son.  She knows what she is doing.  She will guide us simply and effectively.  Let’s listen to her messages, and follow her with hearts full of love!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Dear Family of Mary!

September 20, 1984

“Dear children! Today I call on you to begin fasting with the heart. There are many people who are fasting, but only because everyone else is fasting. It has become a custom which no one wants to stop. I ask the parish to fast out of gratitude because God has allowed me to stay this long in this parish. Dear children, fast and pray with the heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Today is a fast day! We fast on Wednesday and Friday because Our Lady has asked us to do so. It is part of her plan for peace. Fr. Slavko understood fasting. He was courageous in fasting and prayer. He wrote about the connection between fasting and prayer. They are necessary to one another:

The unification of the body and soul in prayer are particularly manifested in fasting and prayer. The physical fast makes prayer more complete. A person, who fasts, prays better and a person, who prays, fasts more easily. In this way, prayer does not only remain an expression or words, but includes the entire human being. Physical fasting is an admission to God before men that one cannot do it alone and needs help. A person experiences his helplessness more easily when he fasts and that is why, by means of the physical fast, the soul is more open to God. Without fasting, our words of prayer remain without a true foundation. In the Old Testament the faithful fasted and prayed individually, in groups and in various life situations. Because of this, they always, experienced God’s help. (cf. Ezra 8: 21-23; 2 Chr 20:12). Jesus ascribes a special power to fasting and prayer, especially in the battle against evil spirits (cf. Mk 9:29). The same practice is found in the tradition of the Catholic Church and is most evident in the rules of all orders and religious communities. St. Bernard wrote about the relationship between fasting and prayer saying:

“I will tell you something that you will understand easily and what you have often experienced, if I am not mistaken: fasting gives certainty to prayer and makes it fervent…By means of prayer strength is gained for fasting and through fasting the grace of prayer. Fasting strengthens prayer and prayer strengthens fasting and offers it to the Lord.”

This is apparent because by means of fasting, one becomes more awake and open to God and to what is spiritual. For the same reason, fasting is connected to the Eucharist. While a person practices renunciation and lives for a period of time with bread, he prepares himself for a meeting with the Divine Bread. This exceptional meeting with God, especially in connection with the Eucharist, is evidence of how fasting is positive in itself and how it enables us to realize the fundamental goal of prayer – the meeting of the entire person with God, the Savior. (Fr. Slavko Barbaric. “Fast with the Heart”. P. 110-111)

I must admit that for me fasting is the last thing I want to add to my busy life. But I believe that if I do not fast as Mary asks, I will be limping through life on one leg. Fasting and prayer go together. We will find ourselves closer to God in prayer if we fast. It is not something we can figure out, but something we must live.

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary!  Our fasting today can give us something to offer Our Lady on her birthday, a little gift of our sacrifice for her intentions!

Mother Mary, please procure for us the grace to fast. Help us to live as you have asked us to live, through prayer and fasting!!

Dear Family of Mary!
“…In a special way, my motherly heart loves the shepherds. Pray for their blessed hands. Thank you.” (September 2, 2016)
Our Lady loves the priests. Over and over again she asks us to pray for her priests, to intercede for them, because they are so important for the salvation of souls. Mother Teresa of Calcutta also loves the priests. She has firsthand knowledge of the importance of the priest in the lives of the dying. She has seen over and over again the power of the priest to reconcile sinners with God, to give them what she calls the “ticket to heaven” (Baptism).
Let me share one of the stories she tells in her talk to the Priests’ Retreat in Rome in 1990 (https://marytv.tv/?page_id=513 ). It shows this incredible dynamic between dying souls and the priest.
“I have seen it again and again. Our people in our home for the dying. After they have made their peace with God…something…something…. When I was last time in New York, we have a home for AIDs. And there was a phone call, a young man was phoning. “Mother Teresa, I think I have got the disease. I am going to the doctor, and if he says that I have it, I want to come to you. I want to die with you.” And I said, “Yes, you will be most welcome.”
The next day, on the phone again, he said, “Yes I have it.” And I said, “Yes, come immediately. I will be very happy to have you. Come.” And he came. And the joy on that man’s face, that he was wanted. That he would be able to make his peace with God. That there would be some priest there to forgive him, to help him to make the peace with Jesus. He was not there two weeks and we prepared him to die. And he died a beautiful death, beautiful death.
What the priest could give to that man! That joy, that peace that no one can give. He died a holy death because his heart was all so spotlessly pure. We have wonderful happenings in our homes where people come face to face with God. Face to face, with the help of the priest who prepares them, who helps them to find the joy of loving and being loved. What a wonderful gift of God the priest is! But what a wonderful and great responsibility to give Jesus. (St. Teresa of Calcutta, Priests’ Retreat, Rome, 1990)
“…In a special way, my motherly heart loves the shepherds. Pray for their blessed hands. Thank you.” (September 2, 2016)
Let’s pray for our priests in union with St. Teresa of Calcutta and Our Lady of Medjugorje. What a wonderful and great responsibility the priests have, and how much we need them!

St. Teresa of Calcutta
Dear Family of Mary!
“…My children, in your earthly life, be led by my example. As a mother I will teach you: to love and to pray in Him means to pray in the silence of your soul and not only reciting with your lips; it is even the least beautiful gesture done in the name of my Son – it is patience, mercy, the acceptance of pain and sacrifice done for the sake of another.” (September 2, 2016)
Yesterday Mother Teresa of Calcutta was canonized a saint! What a joy for us all! We can freely call upon her for intercession and aid! She will be busier now than she was on earth (if that is possible, knowing how much she poured herself out for us all when she was with us). Today we can ask her to pray for us, and for our loved ones and all who need heavenly aid.
In honor of Mother Teresa’s canonization, Mary TV was able to show a talk that she gave at the Priest’s retreat in Rome in 1990. You can watch it on the Mary TV Channel.
It strikes me that Our Lady’s words in her most recent message really carry the essence of St. Teresa of Calcutta’s spiritual way. Reread the excerpt above, and you will find Mother Teresa in these words!
And for her part, St. Teresa of Calcutta understood Our Lady. She talks about her with great insight. Because Mother Teresa was so in love with Jesus, she had to know His Mother well! Here are a couple of quotes from Mother about our relationship with Mary. Indeed, Our Lady can lead us by her example. She has walked our walk. She knows pain, silence and immeasurable faith and trust! She knows how to surrender to the Heavenly Father in all things.
St. Teresa of Calcutta wrote to her sisters:
10 August 1971
My Dearest Children,
…May our Mother be a mother to each one of us and so the cause of our joy. And may each one of us be Jesus to her and so become the cause of her joy. No one learned the lesson of humility as well as Mary did. She was the handmaiden. To be a handmaiden is to be at someone’s disposal – to be used according to someone’s wish – with full trust and joy. Cheerfulness and joy were Our Lady’s strength. Only joy could have given her the strength to go in haste over the hills of Judea to do the work of handmaiden to her cousin. So let us go in haste over the hills of difficulties…
Mother House
28 June 1972
Dearest Children,
Let us ask the Sacred Heart for one very special grace: love for Our Lady. Ask Him to give and deepen our love and make it more personal and intimate for her;
To love her as He loved her.
To be a cause of joy to her ash He was.
To Keep close to her as He kept.
To share with her everything, even the cross.
Each one of us has our cross to bear, for this is the sign that we are His. Therefore, we need her to share it with us…
…Holiness is not a luxury but a simple duty for you and me. Very great holiness becomes very simple if we belong fully to Our Lady…
 …I am sure each one of us has much to thank God;
For all the tiring journeys we have made by road, by drain, by plane, by cycle in search of souls.
For all the joy we have tried to spread throughout the world.
For letting us give Our Lady full liberty to use us.
(From Mother Teresa of Calcutta. “The Love of Christ – Spiritual Counsels” 1982)
Our Lady’s words are echoed in these brief quotes. Both women were at heart mothers! Each one calls us “Dear Children”! Each one recognizes the trials of life, but accepts them as the way to love Jesus and to do His will. Each one is present to us now, as they are in heaven interceding for us and loving us.
Mother Teresa truly understood how important it is to love Our Lady. Please, St. Teresa of Calcutta, help us to grow in our love for Mother Mary. Help us to thank the Father for her presence among us in these days. Mother Teresa, pray for us!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

First Friday
Dear Family of Mary!
Today Our Lady comes to Mirjana with a message of peace for us. As we await her words to us, let’s open our hearts to her last message on August 2. We are the most blessed of children to have such a Mother!!
August 2, 2016
“Dear children, I have come to you, among you, for you to give me your concerns so that I may offer them to my Son; that I may intercede for you before Him for your good. I know that each of you has his concerns, his trials. Therefore I am inviting you in a motherly way: come to the table of my Son. He is breaking bread for you; He is giving Himself to you; He is giving you hope; He is asking for more faith, hope and serenity from you. He is seeking of you to battle within against egoism, judgement and human weaknesses. Therefore, as a mother, I am saying: pray; because prayer gives you strength for the interior battle. My Son, when He was little, often said to me that there will be many who will love me and call me ‘mother’. Among you, I feel love. Thank you. For the sake of that love I am imploring my Son that none of you, my children, will return home the same as he came; that you may take with you all the more hope, mercy and love; that you may be my apostles of love who will witness with their lives that the Heavenly Father is the source of life and not of death. Dear children, anew, in a motherly way I am imploring you, pray for the chosen ones of my Son, for their blessed hands – for your shepherds – that they may preach my Son with all the more love and in this way bring about conversions. Thank you.”
It is a comfort to know that Our Lady desires to take our concerns to herself, and to pray for us in our trials. When she comes to Mirjana, we can give them to her again!
I will send out the message as soon as I get it, and of course we will post the video of the apparition asap!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, you allowed the thirsting love of Jesus on the Cross to become a living flame within you, and so became the light of His love to all. Obtain from the Heart of Jesus (here make your request). Teach me to allow Jesus to penetrate and possess my whole being so completely that my life, too, may radiate His light and love to others. Amen.

Dear Family of Mary!
“For the sake of that love I am imploring my Son that none of you, my children, will return home the same as he came; that you may take with you all the more hope, mercy and love; that you may be my apostles of love who will witness with their lives that the Heavenly Father is the source of life and not of death…” (August 2, 2016)
Our Lady wants us to change. She wants us to become more and more like our heavenly Father. She wants us to understand that God loves us so very much that He will not stop trying to heal us, change us, and renew us. He will never tire of forgiving us! That is because He is “The source of life and not death!” He gives life!
Fr. Leon has been sharing what we call “Sanctuary Snippets” before each English Mass in Medjugorje. We are taping them, and archiving them on our home page atwww.marytv.tv so that his amazing catechesis will not be lost.
Today I want to share the “Snippet” for August 30, 2016, because it helps us understand what Our Lady is telling us in this excerpt from her August 2, 2016 message:
I want to talk to you today about forgiveness. You know we constantly say “God loves you.” And I don’t think people really believe us, or maybe we ourselves don’t really believe it very much. Because with us first of all, with our parents: when we are good they reward us, and when we are bad they punish us. Then we have this idea that God is somehow similar. We think we have to be neat and tidy enough before God would love us.
But God is love! Always!
This means that when you are at your most debauched, depraved – pushing grannies into the street and torturing kittens to death – when you are in that phase of your life, God loves you passionately. Because He does not change. Only we change with respect to Him.
So we can talk in the Bible about God’s anger and God’s justice, yes, but that is still His love. He doesn’t change. If we are not repentant, then out of love He gives us what we love…we choose hell. Life without Him. But He doesn’t change. He always loves us passionately.
Imagine when you were a child, when you were newly baptized, and you think you were this innocent or this holy. And then you grew up and you discovered all kinds of sins. Or you think you have fallen down in some way here. What happens when you go to confession? Do you think you then climb up to about here? And God thinks “Ok, I will tolerate you. I won’t destroy you yet. But I don’t really like you very much.” Is that what God does? No!! (Everyone is nodding.)
When God forgives us He has to reach with His grace to lift us up. He lifts us up to something higher than we were before. More than when we were newly baptized infants. We become something greater than a newly baptized infant. Because a newly baptized infant has received the Holy Spirit. But when God forgives us, he raises us up higher because we become something greater. We are a forgiven liar, a forgiven cheat, a forgiven murderer, a forgiven adulterer, and that is something greater, because God’s love has had to reach down and lift us up!
So when we say that God loves you, this is what we mean. That He loves us passionately. That we should not be afraid of Him.
Mercy of course only applies to those who want it. If you don’t want it, it doesn’t come to you. It is no use to you. You can’t receive it if you are not repentant. That is not mercy, that is just a joke. If you don’t repent, and you say God is mercy, the year of mercy…that is not mercy. That is a lie. Mercy needs repentance in order to be able to receive it. If we are unwilling to change our hearts, we can’t receive mercy.
So it is a horror to come to Medjugorje and say: I want to carry on hating. I want to carry on being a (witch). I want to carry on being a horrible person. No, this is a great opportunity. Open your hearts, open them to Our Lady, and let her change us!!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit! Amen.

Dear Family of Mary!
August 25, 2016
“Dear children! Today I desire to share Heavenly joy with you. You, little children, open the door of your heart so that hope, peace and love, which only God gives, may grow in your heart. Little children, you are too bound to the earth and earthly things, that is why, Satan is rolling you like the wind rolls the waves of the sea. Therefore, may the chain of your life be prayer with the heart and Adoration of my Son Jesus. Give over your future to Him so that, in Him, you may be joy and an example with your lives to others. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Our Lady tells us that we are “too bound to the earth and earthly things.” Satan is rolling us like the wind rolls the waves of the sea. She recommends that we pray with the heart and adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. She wants us to give over our future to Him.
I want to suggest that she has given us another tool to use in grounding ourselves in Jesus, and letting go of the world. That tool is fasting. Every Wednesday and Friday she asks us to fast on bread and water. Tomorrow is Wednesday! If we don’t want to get rolled over like the waves of the sea, we might try to fast as she asks.
Here is a prayer that Fr. Slavko wrote for the beginning of a fast day. It might help us as we begin our fast!
O Lord God, You are the Creator of the entire world and my Creator! Today I thank You for having so wonderfully arranged the world. Thank You for the fruitfulness that you have bestowed on mother earth for it to bear such a vast variety of fruit. Thank You for the food prepared from the fruits of the earth. Father, I rejoice with Your creatures; I rejoice today with all the fruit and I give You thanks. O Lord, thank You for our need for the daily bread and for the need of daily drink.
Father, thank You for having created my organism to be able to use the fruit of the earth so as to grow and to serve You. Thank you, Father, for all those who, by their labor provide new possibilities for life on earth. Thank you for all those who have much and give to others. Thank You for all those who hunger for the Heavenly Bread as they eat the bread of this earth. Father, I also thank You for all those who have nothing to eat today because I am convinced You will send them help through the goodness of others.
Father, today I resolve to fast. In doing so, I do not despise your creatures. I do not renounce them; I only want to rediscover their worth. I have decided to fast because Your prophets fasted, because Your Son Jesus Christ fasted and because His Apostles and Disciples fasted. I especially decide to fast because Your servant and our Mother, Mary, also fasted. She calls me to fast: “Dear children! Today I call on you to begin fasting with the heart!” (10/20/1984)
Father, I present this day of fasting to You. Through fasting, I want to listen to Your Word and to live it more fully. During this day, I want to learn to be turned more toward You, despite everything that surrounds me. With this fast, which I take freely upon myself, I pray to You for all those who are hungry and who, because of their hunger, have become aggressive. I offer this fast to You for peace in the world….
Mary, You were free in Your heart and bound to nothing except the Father’s Will. Obtain for me the grace of a joyful fast today, in which my heart will be able to sing a song of thanksgiving with You. Obtain for me the grace that my decision to fast may be firm and lasting. I offer the difficulties and the hunger I am going to feel today for all people. Mary, Pray for me. Let every evil and temptation of Satan be kept away from me today through Your intercession and through the power of Your protection. Mary, teach me to fast and to pray so that day by day, I may become more and more like You and Your son, Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit. Amen. (Fr. Slavko Barbaric. “Fast with the Heart”. Par 12.1)
May we grow less bound to the earth and more bound to heaven on this day!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
