Dear Family of Mary!
Our Lady loves the Bible. She has called us to read it every day! She knows that we need to have the Word of God in our hearts to protect us from the evil insinuations of the devil, and to be a light for our minds and hearts.
It isn’t too hard to find time to read a passage from Scripture. But we need to set a time aside for it. Morning is a good time to plant a scripture in our minds where it can rumble about all day. God’s word is powerful! Let this be a New Years Resolution!!
Here are five messages about reading the Bible that will help us to solidify the habit in our lives:
October 18, 1984 “Dear children! Today I call on you to read the Bible every day in your homes and let it be in a visible place so as always to encourage you to read it and to pray. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
December 25, 1996 “Dear children! Today I am with you in a special way, holding little Jesus in my lap and I invite you, little children, to open yourselves to His call. He calls you to joy. Little children, joyfully live the messages of the Gospel, which I am repeating in the time since I am with you. Little children, I am your Mother and I desire to reveal to you the God of love and the God of peace. I do not desire for your life to be in sadness but that it be realized in joy for eternity, according to the Gospel. Only in this way will your life have meaning. Thank you for having responded to my call.
January 25, 2006 “Dear children! Also today I call you to be carriers of the Gospel in your families. Do not forget, little children, to read Sacred Scripture. Put it in a visible place and witness with your life that you believe and live the Word of God. I am close to you with my love and intercede before my Son for each of you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
March 18, 2021 “Dear children, in a motherly way I am calling you to return to the joy and the truth of the Gospel, to return to the love of my Son – because He is waiting for you with open arms; that everything you do in life you do with my Son, with love; that it may be blessed for you; so that your spirituality may be internal, and not just external. Only in that way will you be humble, generous, filled with love and joyful; and my motherly heart will rejoice with you. Thank you.”

“Why do you not put your trust in me? I know that you have been praying for a long time, but really, surrender yourself. Abandon your concerns to Jesus. Listen to what He says in the Gospel: And who among you, through his anxiety, is able to add a single cubit, to the length of his life’ (Mt. 6:27). Pray also, in the evening when you have finished your day. Sit down in your room, and say to Jesus: ‘Thank you.’ If in the evening you fall asleep in peace, and in prayer, in the morning you will wake up thinking of Jesus. You will then be able to pray for peace, but if you fall asleep in distraction, the day after will be misty, and you will forget even to pray that day.”
