Wheat and Darnel
March 4, 2024
Dear Family of Mary!
We received this message from Our Lady through Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti on February 25, 2024:
“Dear children! Pray and renew your heart so that the good which you have sown may bear the fruit of joy and oneness with God. Darnel has seized many hearts and they have become unfruitful; that is why, you little children, be light, love and my outstretched hands in this world which yearns for God Who is love. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (February 25, 2024)
Many of you have written or called me asking what or who is Darnel? What is Our Lady telling us? Briefly, I want to explain it! Darnel is a plant! It is the plant that is referred to in the parable of the Weeds and the Wheat, (Mt 13:24-30).
“Another parable he put before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. And the servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then has it weeds?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ But he said, ‘No; lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. Let both grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.'” (Matthew 13:24-30, RSV-CE)
Darnel is a plant that looks very much like wheat when it first begins to grow. If the weed, Darnel, is scattered among the wheat plants, it is very hard to detect. You can’t tell the difference at the beginning, and so it must be allowed to grow to maturity and then gathered and burned. If it is not separated at the harvest time, it will contaminate the wheat crop, because it’s seeds are poisonous. They cause hallucinations and many other mental illnesses. So you can see why Our Lady would warn us of Darnel in our hearts and in the hearts of all those around us. Darnel stands for the evil ideas, tendencies, habits, and desires that the enemy sows in hearts. When first planted in people’s hearts, these ideas may seem good or harmless at best. But they are not from God and lead to evil. Many lives will become fruitless if these evil weeds are left to grow.
We need to keep our own hearts clean of Darnel, and to help others by our love and light, to reject the Darnel in their hearts as well. This is truly a warning against Modernism in all its forms, which has contaminated the whole world. But Our Lady is here to weed the garden!
Thanks for your patience. I just wanted to make sure everyone understood this amazing message! There are many applications of this image of Wheat and Darnel! Take it to prayer!! God wants to give us His light!!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
