I shall raise him up on the last day…
November 2, 2026
Dear Family of Mary!
October 25, 2026 Message from Our Lady of Medjugorje
“Dear children! A fire of hatred and wars is spreading in the hearts of people who do not want peace but their own weak interests. That is why, little children, you be prayer and my extended hands of love and peace for all those who are far from my motherly heart. Pray more strongly and more for the peace that God desires to give you but you do not want it. I am with you and I am praying that peace may prevail and reign in every heart. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (With Ecclesiastical approval)
In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us: “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.” (John 6:40)
This is our hope! But most of us need purification either before or after death to be ready for heaven. And that is what All Soul’s Day is about. We are called to help our brothers and sisters in Purgatory through our prayers and sacrifices. Our Lady loves them so very much and she knows how they suffer as they await their entry into heaven. We can speed their way through our prayers and sacrifices. Our Lady has told us:
November 6, 1986 “Dear children! Today I wish to call you to pray daily for souls in purgatory. For every soul prayer and grace is necessary to reach God and the love of God. By doing this, dear children, you obtain new intercessors who will help you in life to realize that all the earthly things are not important for you, that only Heaven is that for which it is necessary to strive. Therefore, dear children, pray without ceasing that you may be able to help yourselves and the others to whom your prayers will bring joy. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
Our Lady’s words will spur us on to prayer for the Souls!
And here is a lovely explanation of Purgatory from Sister Ruth Burrows. She explains to us the reality of the need for purification in this life and also in Purgatory:
Both in life and after death, it is love that purifies. If in life we allow God to come close to us in love, to take us in his arms and hold us fast, this inevitably means pain, simply because we are so twisted, hard, and unyielding. If we submit, his love softens us, straightens us out, transforms us into his own likeness. The pain of purification is the direct effect of love. And this is the same after death.
(Sister Ruth Burrows, O.C.D. (+2023)- an author and Carmelite Nun in Norfolk, England)
It is a wonderful gift from God that we can be purified before death and after death as well. He wants us to be with Him and will do what is necessary to prepare us, if we desire it. And He also allows others to help us with their prayers. God is kind. He looks for every way to speed our way into Heaven!! So today, let’s pray for the Souls with all our hearts, knowing that someday they may be able to pray for us!
In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!
