Christmas Novena Day Five

Dear Family of Mary!

We are at Day Five of our Christmas Novena! Half way there! Today both Our Lady and Jesus speak about sleep! Truly, sleep is an act of trust, because we give ourselves over completely to rest and let go control of our life for a few hours. It is very important to sleep, as we need to be revitalized and strengthened through our rest for the next day’ challenges. Sleep is really a sort of surrender, especially if we pray and give ourselves over to God before we sleep.

Our Message for today:

Sunday, October 30, 1983

To Jelena:
“Why do you not put your trust in me? I know that you have been praying for a long time, but really, surrender yourself. Abandon your concerns to Jesus. Listen to what He says in the Gospel: And who among you, through his anxiety, is able to add a single cubit, to the length of his life’ (Mt. 6:27). Pray also, in the evening when you have finished your day. Sit down in your room, and say to Jesus: ‘Thank you.’ If in the evening you fall asleep in peace, and in prayer, in the morning you will wake up thinking of Jesus. You will then be able to pray for peace, but if you fall asleep in distraction, the day after will be misty, and you will forget even to pray that day.”

Novena of Surrender to the will of God – Day Five

(Jesus speaks to Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo)

And when I must lead you on a path different from the one you see, I will prepare you; I will carry you in my arms; I will let you find yourself, like children who have fallen asleep in their mother’s arms, on the other bank of the river. What troubles you and hurts you immensely are your reason, your thoughts and worry, and your desire at all costs to deal with what afflicts you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)

(I have to say that Jesus’ words are comforting. There is power in this image. We often find ourselves confronted with a change in our life, something unexpected and maybe difficult. We can respond with fear and the need to control the situation, which will lead us into a spiral of chaos. Or we can respond with complete surrender to Jesus, in which we place all our fears in His heart, and then rest on His chest, letting Him carry us. “Who among you, through his anxiety, is able to add a single cubit to the length of his life?” Jesus alone can carry us over the unexpected paths we encounter. He will do it. We only have to surrender.)

Let us pray 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys and 7 Glory bes.

Lord Jesus, through the Intercession of your Mother, Mary, we want to stop worrying and start praying to you when a new path is presented to us. May we learn to stop worrying and planning on our own, and instead turn to you for help. May we learn to surrender our entire selves to You, that we may give you glory and honor all our days, and especially at this celebration of your Incarnation and Nativity. We are all yours through the guidance and intercession of our Mother, Mary! Amen.

SURRENDER PRAYER

God, my Father, I thank you for all that you are, and all that you do for me through your son Jesus Christ. I praise you for my life, for your mercy and for your Eucharist. In Jesus’ name, Father, I place myself entirely in your Heart. I surrender to you my whole self, my heart, my mind, my memory, my imagination, my will, my emotions, my passions, my body, my sexuality, my desire for human approval, my weaknesses, my desires, my sins.

I surrender every person in my life to you. I surrender every situation in my life to you. I surrender every relationship I am in to you. I surrender every concern I have to you. I surrender every fear I have to you. I surrender every doubt I have to you. I surrender all confusion I have to you. I surrender all sadness I am experiencing in my heart to you. I surrender all my wounds to you. I surrender all anxiety and worry I have to you. I surrender all that deceives me in my heart to you. I trust you to care for me and others in a perfectly loving way.

As I have emptied myself, and surrendered everything to you, I ask you now, Father, to fill me with your Holy Spirit and all the gifts and fruits of your Spirit. Holy Spirit you are the source of love, hope, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, tenderness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. Purify my desires. Help me to open my heart to you. Help me to become perfectly receptive as a pure child. Help me to believe in your love for me. Help me to hope in your love. Help me to receive from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus all grace and virtues necessary for me to become the person you created me to be. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, Your son, God Almighty Father.

O Most Holy Immaculate Virgin Mary. I entrust this prayer to your Heart, and ask you to press it to your wounded heart and intercede for me to your Son Jesus. Please help me to be as you are, a perfect disciple, an obedient servant, a true child of God. Amen.

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Christmas Novena, Day 4 – Comprehend that without Him you have no future.

Christmas Novena Day Four

Dear Family of Mary!

This is the fourth day of our Novena before Christmas! Again today the parish will climb Apparition Hill, praying the Rosary. We will join them live, through Mary TV! This novena is a big commitment for the parishioners. They must drop everything to go to the hill at 2:00 pm and climb. But they come. It seems that the more prayer, the more sacrifice, the more grace is poured out. It is a lesson to me about priorities. Prayer must be high on our list even at Christmas!

The Lord speaks to Father Dolindo today about growing evil, and how to respond to it. Of course Jesus does not recommend that we rely on our own strength! Our Lady also comments in the message below about how we respond to the evils of our time. She says we work, gather and run without blessing, because we don’t pray. The answer? Stop, drop on our knees and pray, handing it all over to the Lord.

Here is the message:

December 25, 2008 “Dear children! You are running, working, gathering – but without blessing. You are not praying! Today I call you to stop in front of the manger and to meditate on Jesus, Whom I give to you today also, to bless you and to help you to comprehend that, without Him, you have no future. Therefore, little children, surrender your lives into the hands of Jesus, for Him to lead you and protect you from every evil. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Novena of Surrender to the Will of God, Day Four

You see evil growing instead of weakening? Do not worry. Close your eyes and say to me with faith: “Thy will be done, You take care of it.” I say to you that I will take care of it, and that I will intervene as does a doctor and I will accomplish miracles when they are needed. Do you see that the sick person is getting worse? Do not be upset, but close your eyes and say “You take care of it.” I say to you that I will take care of it, and that there is no medicine more powerful than my loving intervention. By my love, I promise this to you.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)

Let us pray 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys and 7 Glory bes.

Lord Jesus, through the Intercession of your Mother, Mary, we want to stop worrying and start praying to you when evil threatens. May we learn to stop running and working on our own, and instead turn to you for help. May we learn to surrender our entire selves to You, that we may give you glory and honor all our days, and especially at this celebration of your Incarnation and Nativity. We are all yours through the guidance and intercession of our Mother, Mary! Amen.

Christmas Novena, Day 3 – Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016

J.M.J.

December 17, 2017

Christmas Novena Day Three

Dear Family of Mary!

This is Day Three of our novena, and we consider surrender in terms of how we ask God for help with our difficulties. When we are ill, or have a problem we cannot solve, we turn to the Lord for help. But we may act like a child with a broken toy, who won’t let go of the toy long enough for the adult to fix it. The child may struggle to show the adult the problem, but never give over the toy to be fixed. We can be like that with our difficulties. We never quite trust the Lord and we can’t let go of our own solution!

Here is what Our Lady once said about the need to surrender:

June 25, 1988 “Dear children! I am calling you to that love which is loyal and pleasing to God. Little children, love bears everything bitter and difficult for the sake of Jesus who is love. Therefore, dear children, pray that God come to your aid, not however according to your desire, but according to His love. Surrender yourself to God so that He may heal you, console you and forgive everything inside you which is a hindrance on the way of love. In this way God can move your life, and you will grow in love. Dear children, glorify God with a hymn of love so that God’s love may be able to grow in you day by day to its fullness. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Novena of Surrender to God’s Will, Day Three

(Jesus speaks to Father Donlindo Ruotolo)

How many things I do when the soul, in so much spiritual and material need turns to me, looks at me and says to me; “You take care of it,” then close its eyes and rests. In pain you pray for me to act, but that I act in the way you want. You do not turn to me, instead, you want me to adapt to your ideas. You are not sick people who ask the doctor to cure you, but rather sick people who tell the doctor how to [cure you]. So do not act this way, but pray as I taught you in the Our Father: “Hallowed be thy Name”, that is, be glorified in my need. “Thy kingdom come”, that is, let all that is in us and in the world be in accord with your kingdom. “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”, that is, in our need, decide as you see fit for our temporal and eternal life.

If you say to me truly: “Thy will be done”. Which is the same as saying: “You take care of it”. I will intervene with all my omnipotence, and I will resolve the most difficult situations.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)

Let us pray 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys and 7 Glory bes.

Lord Jesus, through the Intercession of your Mother, Mary, give us the grace to close the eyes of our souls, and rest with You, our Lord and God. May we let go of our own solutions to our problems, and instead accept Your plans for us. May we learn to entrust our entire selves to You, that we may give you glory and honor all our days, and especially at this celebration of your Incarnation and Nativity. We are all yours through the guidance and intercession of our Mother, Mary! Amen.

Christmas Novena, Day 2 – Put yourself in my care, so that only I act…

Christmas Novena Day Two

Dear Family of Mary!

We continue our Christmas Novena with the Parish today with Day Two!

We are preparing our hearts for Christmas by growing in our surrender to Jesus. This is our gift to the Holy Infant in the manger. We want to give Him our hearts completely. Our Lady has been teaching us this surrender through her messages in Medjugorje. She wants us to understand that it is only by giving our entire lives to Jesus that He can take control and guide us into His protection and make us part of His plan. Our Lives will make sense, and we will lose our fear and anxiety. Jesus will be Lord of our lives.

Here is a beautiful message to ponder:

“Dear children! Today I am calling you to renew your hearts. Open yourselves to God and surrender to him all your difficulties and crosses so God may turn everything into joy. Little children, you cannot open yourselves to God if you do not pray. Therefore, from today, decide to consecrate a time in the day only for an encounter with God in silence. In that way you will be able, with God, to witness my presence here. Little children, I do not wish to force you. Rather freely give God your time, like children of God. Thank you for having responded to my call.” July 25, 1989

Let us pray the Novena of Surrender to God’s will!

Day Two (Jesus speaks to Don Dolindo)

Surrender to me does not mean to fret, to be upset, or to lose hope, nor does it mean offering to me a worried prayer asking me to follow you and change your worry into prayer. It is against this surrender, deeply against it, to worry, to be nervous and to desire to think about the consequences of anything. It is like the confusion that children feel when they ask their mother to see to their needs, and then try to take care of those needs for themselves so that their childlike efforts get in their mother’s way.

Surrender means to placidly close the eyes of the soul, to turn away from thoughts of tribulation and to put yourself in my care, so that only I act. Saying “You take care of it.”

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10 times)

Let us pray 7 Our Fathers, 7 Hail Marys and 7 Glory bes.

Lord Jesus, through the Intercession of your Mother, Mary, give us the grace to close the eyes of our souls, and enter into a conversation with You, our Lord and God. May we give time to prayer, where we will be able to surrender ourselves to You. May we learn to entrust our entire selves to You, that we may give you glory and honor all our days, and especially at this celebration of your Incarnation and Nativity. We are all yours through the guidance and intercession of our Mother, Mary! Amen.

Christmas Novena, Day 1 – Leave the care of your affairs to me…

Christmas Novena Day 1

Dear Family of Mary!

Today St. James Parish begins the annual Christmas Novena! They will climb Apparition Hill each day for nine days before Christmas, praying the Rosary. Mary TV will stream the climb each day, live! It is a beautiful way to prepare for The Nativity of Christ!

ST JAMES PARISH CHRISTMAS NOVENA Dec 15 through Dec 23
2:00 pm Medj time, 8:00 am EST

Denis and I will follow each day’s novena climb with our usual “Hour of Mercy” prayer time at 3:00 pm Medjugorje time (9:00 am EST) in which we will add a very simple novena prayer to Jesus.

Don Dolindo Ruotolo, a holy priest in Italy, who died in 1970, wrote down some wonderful words that he received from the Lord about surrender. These little meditations make up a Novena of Surrender to the Will of God. We feel that this simple novena is a great help to those who wish to give themselves completely to the Lord. What better present could we give to Baby Jesus than our surrender to Him. So we will pray this little novena after the Parish climb each day.

Here is our Christmas Novena – Day One :

A Message from Our Lady:

December 19, 1985 “Dear children! Today I wish to call you to love of neighbor. The more you love your neighbor, the more you shall experience Jesus especially on Christmas Day. God will bestow great gifts on you if you surrender yourselves to Him. I wish in a special way on Christmas Day to give mothers my own special motherly blessing, and Jesus will bless the rest with His own blessing. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Novena of Surrender to the Will of God (Don Dolindo Ruotolo) Day One:

Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying? Leave the care of your affairs to me and everything will be peaceful. I say to you in truth that every act of true, blind, complete surrender to me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations.

Response:

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, take care of everything! (10times)

Let us pray the 7-7-7 (7 Our Fathers, Hail Marys and Glory Bes)

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

I am inviting you to a complete surrender to God!

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016

December 14, 2017

St. John of the Cross

Dear Family of Mary!

May 25, 1988 “Dear children! I am inviting you to a complete surrender to God. Pray, little children, that satan may not carry you about like the branches in the wind. Be strong in God. I desire that through you the whole world may get to know the God of joy. By your life bear witness for God’s joy. Do not be anxious nor worried. God himself will help you and show you the way. I desire that you love all men with my love. Only in that way can love reign over the world. Little children, you are mine. I love you and want you to surrender to me so that I can lead you to God. Never cease praying so that satan cannot take advantage of you. Pray for the knowledge that you are mine. I bless you with blessings of joy. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

In this message Our Lady makes it clear that we need to surrender our whole lives to her, making a complete surrender to God through her. But in the same message she warns us that Satan wants to carry us about like the branches in the wind. She tells us that Satan wants to take advantage of us. He does this through temptation.

Our Mother knows that we are safest when we have given our entire lives over to God, when we have surrendered all to Him. We received a powerful example of this very situation from Camilla. She wrote this email yesterday:

Dear Cathy,

I would like to give you a testimony of something important that happened to me in the last 48 hours.

I need physiotherapy these days because I hurt my ankle. So I called a friend for the phone number of her massage therapist whom I then called.

He told me that his massage would not only to me good physically, but that it would be a spiritual experience, in which through body hypnosis, I would be disconnected from reasoning and brought into a state of deep meditation. I thought to myself that this was nothing more than fashionable new-age language, and took two appointments with him.

As soon as I had hung up I started to become restless, and this restlessness kept steadily increasing. Although I knew that this restless feeling came from what that man had told me, I didn’t want to cancel the appointments because my curiosity of mind didn’t allow me to and because I didn’t want to give in to fear and restlessness. I kept saying to myself, “It’s only a massage. There’s nothing wrong with it”. But my restlessness kept on growing. This morning, I woke up at 3 o’clock and started to pray. And my prayer, which is usually a source of peace and joy, became all fuzzy, like a radio which is badly tuned.

So I decided to open my email and do whatever inspiration I would get from your daily reflection. As soon as I saw the surrender prayer you proposed, before I even started reading it, I immediately knew that I had to cancel those appointments on the spot. I immediately and clearly realized that I belong to our Mother Mary, body, spirit and soul, and through her to God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. As well as all my desires, all my imagination etc., in sickness and in health. And that everything that is outside God is completely incompatible because it doesn’t exist. And that all my longings are to be focused on God alone. And my peace and joy immediately returned!

I thought you needed to know this.
Lots of love,
Camilla

Thank you Camilla! I think we all needed to hear this testimony. Indeed, it is our surrender to Jesus and Mary that keeps us safe from the enemy, from his deceptions and lies. It is our surrender that gives us light, helps us walk in the right direction towards Heaven, and keeps us safe from evil. God loves us and can protect us when we place our lives in His hands.

Let’s all thank the Lord for His protection for Camilla! I remember writing that reflection! I didn’t know what I would write, and sat a long while in prayer, not knowing. But then it occurred to me to look for a good surrender prayer online. In my first attempt, the beautiful prayer I sent out yesterday popped up! It was meant for Camilla. But it is very good for all of us too!! Here it is again, so we can pray it today.

Tomorrow we begin the Christmas Novena with the Parish! You can pray, live, with those climbing Apparition Hill at 2:00 pm Medjugorje Time. Our Novena prayers will be sent out in the Daily Reflection, and also prayed during the Hour of Mercy that directly follows the Climb.

Dear Family of Mary!

June 2, 2007 “Dear children! Also in this difficult time God’s love sends me to you. My children, do not be afraid, I am with you. With complete trust give me your hearts, that I may help you to recognize the signs of the time in which you live. I will help you to come to know the love of my Son. I will triumph through you. Thank you.”

Our Lady is with us, so close to us, so near, that we have only to whisper to her and she hears us. She is near because this is a “difficult” time. This is a time of intense spiritual battle in which many souls hang in the balance. Mary is here with us as the Queen of this army, her Son’s army.

God’s love has sent her. God’s infinite love knew just who to send at this time. He sent the Immaculate Mother to lead the battle against the enemy of our souls. She is equipped. She is strong and she can defeat him.

But she needs our cooperation. And so she asks us to give her our hearts, with complete trust, without fear. She needs our hearts, surrendered to her and to Jesus, so that she can fill them with light, the light of her Son. With this light we will recognize what is really going on in this difficult time. We will not be fooled. We will see the victory of her heart approaching.

Our job is to surrender. I found this beautiful prayer of surrender to God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit which is also directed to Mary, on a parish website in England! St. Vincent’s Parish! I share it with you here, and I will give the link so you can go to the site yourselves to print it off. It is very beautiful, and will help us to truly surrender everything in our hearts to Jesus and Mary, so that we will recognize the signs of the time we live in, the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart!

A prayer of Surrender from St. Vincent’s Parish –

Amen.

Amen and Amen!!

I am excited that we can all draw very close to Mary’s heart, and through her to the Heart of Jesus. There we will find the Blessed Trinity, with every blessing and gift we need to help Our Lady’s heart to triumph!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Our Lady of Guadalupe!

Our Lady of Guadalupe
The miraculous image on the Tilma of Juan Diego
Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe

Dear Family of Mary!

“Am I not here who am your Mother?” (Our Lady of Guadalupe to Juan Diego)

“Dear children! Today I invite you to come still closer to me through prayer. Little children, I am your mother, I love you and I desire that each of you be saved and thus be with me in Heaven. That is why, little children, pray, pray, pray until your life becomes prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call.” (Our Lady of Medjugorje, August 25, 1998)

Today is the beautiful Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Especially for those of us in the Americas, this feast is central, for it was through Our Lady of Guadalupe that our hemisphere was won for Christ. What would have taken centuries for missionaries, took only a few years for Mary. She converted and saved millions of her children through her image on the Tilma of Juan Diego!

Here is a brief account of that miraculous event which changed the Americas forever:

Two days later, on December 12, as he was going to the Church at Tlatelolco in order to bring a priest to his dying uncle, Juan Diego was stopped by the Lady, who had come down from Tepeyac Hill to meet him in the road. She listened quietly to Juan’s excuse for not having kept his appointment with her the day before. When he had finished speaking she said, “It is well, littlest and dearest of my sons, but now listen to me. Do not let anything afflict you and be not afraid of illness or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Are you not in the crossing of my arms? Is there anything else you need? Do not fear for your uncle for he is not going to die. Be assured… he is already well.”

Having heard these words, Juan Diego rejoiced and asked for the sign he was to take to the Bishop. He was told to climb to the top of the hill where she had spoken to him on three previous occasions. She said he would find many flowers blooming there which he was to cut and bring to her. Juan Diego did as he was told though he knew no flowers had ever bloomed before on the stony summit. He discovered a marvelous garden of dew-fresh blossoms which he cut as she had asked. Placing them in his rough cloak, or tilma, he brought the flowers to the Lady who rearranged them and told him to take them to the Bishop; that this was the sign to persuade him to carry out her wishes.

When Juan Diego, radiantly happy, stood before Bishop Fray Juan de Zumarraga and told him of the fourth encounter with the Lady, he opened his tilma to show the Bishop the sign; the flowers cascaded to the floor – but to the astonishment of the Bishop and Juan Diego, there appeared upon the coarse fabric of the Indian’s mantle a marvelously wrought, exquisitely colored portrait of the Blessed Virgin, just as Juan Diego had previously described her.

Coming on the heels of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, this beautiful event shows the power and compassion of the Mary, Mother of God. The Immaculate One came to save her little children in Mexico, and no one could stop her! Today she comes anew, to save her children, now throughout the whole world, and again, no one can stop her. Like Juan Diego, we should be radiantly happy as we stand before our families and communities, with the sign of Our Lady of Medjugorje not on our tilmas, but in our hearts and on our faces. That sign is the peace and love of God!

Our Lady (in Medjugorje) says to us, even as she said to Juan Diego, “Am I not here, who am your Mother? Are you not under my protection? Am I not your health? Are you not happily within my fold? What else do you wish?”

Gay Russell and Our Lady’s plan for a Shrine in Malawi

Malawi Medjugorje Shrine!!

December 11, 2017

St. Damasus I

Dear Family of Mary!

The Fruit of Medjugorje testimony that was introduced last week is a very special one. Gay Russell shares the remarkable events that led to the establishment of a Medjugorje Shrine in Malawi, Africa!! Here is a short version of her testimony that was published in the book, “Medjugorje and the Church” by Denis Nolan.

Gay Russell of Malawi writes: “In September, 2000, I was given a ticket to make a pilgrimage to Rome and Medjugorje…I was agonizing with Jesus for three days preparing for the trip before the Blessed Sacrament, ‘Why Me, Lord? Why am I blessed to go again? What about all the Malawians who can never go?’…On the third day the phone rang, and a voice, obviously long distance, said to me ‘Is that Gay Russell…You don’t know me. My name is Tony Smith. I love Medjugorje and I want to talk to you about this idea I have…I was hoping to build a replica of Krizevac for all the people in England who could not go, but…last night I heard clearly in my heart: “Build it in Malawi for all the Malawians who can never go”. Now I am asking if you could find a mountain near Blantyre on the summit of which we could build the Krizevac Dross and then place the Stations of the Cross up the mountain just like in Medjugorje. I hope you don’t think I am crazy, but it could become a Medjugorje for the Malawians.'”

The Forestry Department gave permission for a replica of the Cross on Krizevac to be built on Mount Michiru and the Archbishop gave permission for the shrine. The bronze plaques depicting the Stations of the Cross were done by Carmello Puzzolo in Italy, identical to the ones he did that are on Krizevac in Medjugorje. (His Rosary plaques, identical to the ones he did for Medjugorje, will soon be placed on an adjoining hill.)

On August 5, 2006, Archbishop Tarcisio Ziyaye of the Blantyre Archdiocese, assisted by Bishop Remi St. Marie of Dedza Diocese and Bishop Peter Musikuwa of Chikwawa Diocese, together with 21 priests from various parishes in the southern region, formally consecrated the new Church, “as an incredible gift from God for all those who cannot go to Medjugorje.” More than 5,000 of the faithful attended the first Mass in St. James Church in Blantyre. “Now that the church is complete the keys can be handed over,” proclaimed Fr. Kanjira, the Diocesan Administrator who was Master of Ceremonies for the celebration. Mr. Armenio Da Costa (the builder) presented them to Gay Russell (the Medjugorje Pilgrim who had overseen the project to its completion), who presented them to Tony Smith (the benefactor), who in turn presented them to the Archbishop, who joyfully handed them over to Fr. Mwapuwa, the parish priest. “At this point great jubilation and ululating broke out in the church; the choir began singing the Gloria, and the church bells rang out loud and clear for the first time. It was wonderful to experience the overwhelming joy!”

The new St. James Church is identical to St. James Church in Medjugorje in every way! St. James Church in Malawi lies at the foot of Mt. Michiru (about the same height as Mt. Krizevac in Medjugorje) with a cross on the summit identical to the one on Mt. Krizevac, and about the same distance from the church.

Gay states: “I believe that this has been given to Africa since it is now almost impossible for any group from here to get to Medjugorje. To acquire the proper visa African passport holders have to travel to Johannesburg or Cairo for a personal interview beforehand. It is believed one day this will become a very special place of pilgrimage for all peoples of Africa, our tie with the grace of Medjugorje!”

Gay’s beautiful testimony can be found at this link on the Mary TV website:

Testimony 293

Thank you, Gay, for your many years of serving Our Lady!! You are an inspiration to all of us! And to Tony and all those who made the Malawi Medjugorje Shrine possible, a big thank you!!

Denis and I (with our buddy Steve) climbed Krizevac on October 13, 2017 early in the morning, in honor of the 100th Anniversary of Fatima, and who should be we meet on the way up but Gay Russell!! Here is our picture together at the Cross!! What a joy!

Great news from Archbishop Hoser for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception!

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Dear Family of Mary!

On this wonderful feast day celebrating our Mother’s Immaculate Conception, let’s pray a prayer of consecration to her Immaculate Heart, which she dictated to Jelena. We want to give ourselves to her, completely!!

Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
(Given by Our Lady to Jelena Vasilj, 11/28/1983)

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, overflowing
with goodness, Show us your love for us.
May the flame of your heart, Oh Mary,
Descend upon all peoples.
We love you immensely.
Impress in our hearts a true love.
May our hearts yearn for you.
Oh Mary, sweet and humble of heart,
Remember us when we sin.
You know that all mankind are sinners.
Through your most sacred and maternal heart,
Cure us from every spiritual illness.
Make us capable of looking at the beauty of your maternal heart,
And that, thus, we may be converted
to the flame of your heart. Amen

PS. Here is some interesting news that just came out yesterday, through Aleteia.

Archbishop Hoser shares significant news with us about Medjugorje’s status in the Church. This is also a gift to Our Lady on her Feast Day!

Official pilgrimages to Medjugorje are being authorized, confirms Pope Francis’ envoy.
By Jesús Colina | Aleteia News | Dec 07, 2017
Archbishop Henryk Hoser tells Aleteia that it still falls to the pope to make final decision on commission’s report about veracity of reported apparitions.
“The devotion of Medjugorje is allowed. It’s not prohibited, and need not be done in secret,” confirmed Archbishop Henryk Hoser of Warsaw-Praga, Poland, now some months after being sent to Medjugorje by Pope Francis to evaluate not the veracity of the apparitions, but the state of the pastoral care being provided to the thousands of pilgrims who flock to the site every year.
Formerly, pilgrimages to the site were not to be organized by official Church groups, though the faithful could make them privately or through other organizations. Now, the stance on officially-organized pilgrimages will open.
“My mission is precisely to analyze the pastoral situation and propose improvements,” the archbishop told Aleteia, about his assignment at the shrine in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has attracted millions of people since Marian apparitions reportedly began there in 1981.
“Today, dioceses and other institutions can organize official pilgrimages. It’s no longer a problem,” explained the archbishop, speaking to us from his residence in a Warsaw neighborhood. “Pope Francis recently asked an Albanian cardinal to give his blessing to the faithful present in Medjugorje,” he added.
“I am full of admiration for the work the Franciscans are doing there,” the Polish prelate reported. “With a relatively small team-there is only a dozen of them-they do a huge job of welcoming pilgrims. Every summer they organize a youth festival. This year, there were 50,000 young people from around the world, with more than 700 priests.”
“There is a massive number of confessions. They have about 50 confessionals, which are not enough. These are very deep confessions,” he said.
“This is a phenomenon. And what confirms the authenticity of the place is the large amount of charitable institutions that exist around the sanctuary. And another aspect as well: the great effort that is being made at the level of Christian formation. Each year, they organize conferences at different levels, for various audiences (priests, doctors, parents, young people, couples …)”
“The decree of the former episcopal conference of what used to be Yugoslavia, which, before the Balkan war, advised against pilgrimages in Medjugorje organized by bishops, is no longer relevant,” he said.
There are other cases of locations of apparitions, like Kibeho, in Rwanda, where the diocesan bishop agreed to allow the devotion, and then continued the analysis for the recognition of the apparitions.
The archbishop revealed that the conclusion of the Commission for the analysis of the apparitions of Medjugorje, which Benedict XVI had entrusted to Cardinal Camillo Ruini, appears to be favorable.
“What I find touching is that all the seers have turned to family life,” Archbishop Hoser reflected. “In our day and age, the family is of enormous importance. All of them have a family. Those who were teenagers at the time, are already grandmothers; 37 years have passed!”
“But this decision will have to be made by the pope. The file is now at the Secretariat of State. I believe the final decision will be made,” concluded Archbishop Hoser.
