May 25, 2022 – Marija speaks to Fr. Livio about Our Lady’s Message
Father Livio: Dear friends, we now have, live, Marjia from Medjugorje who is about to give us the May 25, 2022 message of the Queen of peace! Hi Marija!
Marjia: Hello Father Livio! A greeting to all the listeners of Radio Maria and today like every 25th of the month, Our Lady gave us the following message:
Marjia reads the message in Italian and Croatian as usual:
“Dear children! I am looking at you and thanking God for each of you, because He permits me to still be with you, to encourage you to holiness. Little children, peace is disturbed and Satan wants peacelessness. That is why, may your prayer be even stronger so that every unclean spirit of division and war may be stilled. Be builders of peace and carriers of joy of the Risen One in you and around you, for the good to win in every man. Thank you for having responded to my call.”
F.L. So Marija Our Lady was still worried today as in the past?
M. Our Lady was at times more peaceful, in other moments almost happy and my heart opened wide up when She said: “I am looking at you and thanking God for each of you”. Then when She said: “because He permits me to still be with you, to encourage you to holiness”, at that point She was talking to us with a joyful smile, thanking us, making us feel important. She was fresh and sparkled in Her beautiful gaze, giving us such a message of hope and joy. Then, in the second part of the message She alternated joy with seriousness, especially when She said: “every unclean spirit of division and war may be stilled.” Touching a few different points: She encouraged us, She thanked us, She thanked the good Lord for each of us, She said She was happy to be with us and loves us; so I must say a very demanding message but at the same time very hopeful!
F.L. Marjia this is already the second time that She has said: “I am looking at you”. What is She looking at or who, where….
M. Marjia chuckles. She is looking at me, us, in the little chapel! We were a group, the usual people that translate the message with some extra people who always slips in although not particularly suited for doing such a job! But Our Lady calls souls to Heaven even that way. Thank God in Medjugorjie this month of May is bringing in a good number of Italian pilgrims we were really hoping to see and we are having a few buses and the first organized groups.
F.L. So Marjia on several occasions Our Lady has told us that She has permission from God to be here. She herself was sent and thanks Him to be here and stay for a long time. But do you think that Her presence will be a little, a short length of time? Do you know anything about it?
M. I hope a thousand more years! Because we never get tired of Her, we are proud to be her children, to listen to Her messages, to put them into practice, to embrace the path of holiness! And I say that a person who stays with Our Lady becomes a positive person, a joyful person, a person who loves life on earth but yearns for Heaven. We are the ones who love life. I often see people who come to Medjugorje, lost, but they slowly find their balance too! And above all, they find the beautiful feeling of being children of God, children of Our Lady, who is our Mother.
I always say that if there are people that are not able to find joy in their hearts despite Our Lady’s presence, if they are depressed in their tribulations and difficulties, how can they be considered Her Children, since She always brings hope? Just tonight when we were singing the last Rosary decade, we felt the joy of Her presence with a great deal of gratitude in our hearts. Our Lady is not afraid to face wars, worries, or even pandemics (like the one we have just experienced and to which She never has given importance). She always told us to stay close to God, prayer, conversion, and to embrace holiness! She is flying very high! And when She says: “Peace is disturbed and Satan wants war”, She tells us to be Her extended hands in the world. We must be so with our lives, with our words, our testimonies, and especially with ourselves.
This is the beautiful part of it, because we have nothing to do with evil, with Satan, but we must be carriers of peace, bearers of joy, of the Risen Christ. May the Holy Spirit forge us, may He inspire us, may we be witnesses for others, especially for those who are far away, as Our Lady says, so that “good may win in every man”. It is not only for the believers, who have embraced holiness but for every man. They need our witness, especially those who are far away who have not known God’s love.
F.L. But Marjia I noticed that in these last messages, as you said it well, Our Lady is inviting us to fly high. She often exhorts us to holiness. In your words, for ordinary people like us, for pilgrims who are common people, children, young people, old people, fathers, mothers…what does this road toward holiness consist of? Is it such a difficult thing? Or is it accessible to everyone?
M. A few days ago, witnessing to a group of pilgrims which came to me spontaneously, speaking from the bottom of my heart, I said that Our Lady was allowed to choose the Parish of Medjugorie and I felt it from the very beginning…this was God’s Plan.
And the thing that struck me most is that Our Lady did not take six children to leave them alone, isolated as fanatics. Instead She placed us within our families. She started to give us messages for the Parish of Medjugorje in which we were members and through those messages She touched the hearts of many people. (This is one of the things for which today I thank God.)The hearts of many youths who could have been our brothers, friends, our schoolmates, friends just met in our streets, during catechism lessons etc. and thanks to them they never considered Marija as a visionary, but treated me like one of them who receives messages that we all must live.
It has been a special grace for us visionaries because Our Lady allowed us to grow up together as young people belonging to the Parish, becoming a group of families later on, so that we could always be together and live Our Lady’s messages not only one hundred percent but one thousand percent embracing them in a profound way.
Now that I am a woman of a certain age, I notice how our life is a continuous testimony while instead I remember for example at the beginning, one day as I climbed a cherry tree a group of pilgrims asked me directions on where to find the visionaries, not recognizing me as one of them. I replied sending them to Jacov’s and Ivan’s house, remaining quietly on that tree eating my cherries. Today I feel the responsibility and the grace, the need to testify also by making myself immediately recognizable as one of the visionaries, by standing at the front-line, aware of the fact that time is running short, it is growing short and we always must do more and more.
F.L. I agree with you Marija but one thing… I personally have always written that when the apparitions first started it was clear that Our Lady had also chosen the Parish. She has also said “you are a chosen people”. She has chosen a Parish and the She organized it to be an example to all the Parishes of the world. This is precisely an exceptional thing in the programs of Our Lady, that She chose the visionaries and the Parish. Am I wrong by saying that?
M.It is true, even now for example some prayer groups, on every 25th of the month, do adoration all night in the Parish of Medjugorie, which remains open, in order to thank Our Lady for her presence and for tonight’s message which She has mercifully given us. If you go at one o’clock in the morning, at three, or at four, etc. and are able to see that people coming, praying in silence, thanking. Those are little gestures that say much to your soul. Today on apparition hill there was this group that decided to do the “thousand Hail Marys” waiting for the message.
F.L. Marija, Although I remember when the war started over there, Our Lady said in Her first message of July 1991 “how long this war will last it depends on your prayer”; after several months, a year or two, She said this war lasts because you pray little, then during the fourth year She said: “Soon this war will end because you have begun to pray”. So it seems to me that this message also says something very similar because Our Lady says: “Just because Satan wants war therefore your prayer must be stronger”. I think it is a petition to intensify our prayer for peace.
M. It is true we know that we must become stronger in prayer because Our Lady said that with prayer and fasting even wars can be removed and so on, so let’s do it!
F.L. Certainly, Marjia do you think this war is going to last a lot longer?
M. I hope it will not last long even though many people no longer see the end of it, especially when you remind them about it. Tonight there was a Ukrainian priest praying for peace and his presence was an invitation for others to pray more. On the other hand, we know what we have to do: during the war in the Balkans, as Our Lady suggested to do, we intensified our prayers.
Today it is just a bad memory, and by now many things have been rebuilt, but in our thoughts, in our hearts we have kept the true meaning of war because war is a satanic thing. Just as Monsignor Tonino Bello went to Sarajevo to pray for peace, despite being ill with cancer, so today I would like to shout with the same intensity for Russia and Ukraine and all the countries where communism and dictatorship is starting again.
We think of China, Korea, our modern countries where it seems that the dictatorship is manifesting itself through a thousand ideologies, a thousand proposals that are taking away our freedom of expression; this is not from God, this is from Satan. I say where there is no freedom, where there is no democracy there is no God because God is freedom, God is democracy.
I remember when I went to Russia and shortly thereafter the Berlin Wall fell. I was young and thin, and Pope John Paul II asked for the act of Consecration together with one of the visionaries and the parish priest of Medjugorie. He was in Rome, and we in Moscow. During the Holy Mass we joined the Pope with a bottle that had the function of the “Sacred Chalice” risking to die as martyrs I prayed to the Lord.
However, this experience was so strong for me, so beautiful that I still feel it in my heart today and I remember the cold weather. I suffered but also the many people who came close, gathered. I remember the barbed wire between two churches a Catholic and an Orthodox and the Orthodox people wanted to come for the apparitions, but Catholics also wanted to come and who can stop someone who wants to love and pray to Our Lady? Nobody.
The crowd of the faithful was so large that I proposed to remove the barbed wire and as if I lived in a prophetic inspiration, we put the altar in the open space and from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening were celebrated communions, baptisms, marriages, confirmations, in the presence of a Bishop from Rome sent by the Pope. It was a real Pentecost, people were crying for joy.
I still remember one of the churches that had become a warehouse of artificial fertilizers for the fields. That night people whitened it, restoring its sacred aspect by transporting the statues of Our Lady, St. Anne, St. Joseph etc in their original niches. Those people sacrificed themselves, they put their lives and the lives of their families at risk
They had preserved for 70 years, with devotion and love, those statues that were beautiful. I still remember today those images that were engraved in my heart and in my mind. I remember what the people did in order to be able to save those wooden statues and to return them to their original place. How many churches have we reopened, how many testimonies!
F.L. Marjia, according to you we know that the Ukrainian people also are an important part of the Catholics who come to Medjugorje. We know that many Ukrainians are in great difficulty.We cannot imagine enduring such suffering. In your opinion is there hope for these people? Our Lady said in the October message that God is peace and freedom and what suffocates freedom is not from God! Do you think there is hope for this people?
M. Why not. There is hope for each of us, even for the hardest sinner there is an invitation to conversion. Our Lady came here to help us, to guide us. She said that she listens to our cry! She said that she is with us, who loves us who listens to our prayers etc. However we are here, Our Lady loves us, She listens to us, She does everything to help us. I deeply believe that we too become as She says: “Builders of peace and carriers of joy of the Risen One in you and around you,” because we are the ones who pray, we believe in the power of prayer.
F.L. Prayer really works miracles also to stop war, this we have already seen in the past right there in Bosnia! It happened just like this and this gives us a lot of hope.
M. We know that there is Satan and Satan uses many people who are arming themselves. They are sending weapons, they do not bring any food, these people are diabolical. But we know that there are many people who pray, who bring food, who help. Now in a special way we see it through many people, I remember a few days ago they called me and said”Marjia pray for us, we have decided to go with humanitarian aid to Ukraine!” Then they told me how they did it! How they did this trip! That everything went well, that the Lord protected them, helped them, they did all these things they had to do. This is to say that underneath there is a huge amount of people who do good and as they say: “A falling tree makes more noise than a growing forest!” I believe in this forest of good that is also growing in humanity that today we see with negative eyes; but there is a large wood that is growing with Our Lady which is called holiness, which is called good, which is called peace, which is called extended hands for those in need etc …
F.L. Marjia, however, it seems that all together society does not capture this grace of the presence of Our Lady. I do not know how they ignore Her! Somehow they obscure Her presence or when they talk about Her they speak in a bad way of Her and this obviously hurts a lot to all those who instead listen and respond to Her call.
M. I deeply believe that even this situation will come to an end because where there is no freedom, even many times our politicians do not have peace, holiness in their hearts, they do not feel the need to be “Extended Hands ” because they are now caught up in materialism, consumerism, money, power, etc. But the time will come when we also are going have to choose someone to represent us.
I don’t want an abortionist to represent me, because I’m pro-life, I don’t want a consumerist because I’m not a consumerist. I am not one who loves those who are consecrated to the devil and want to consecrate our people to the Devil, I am the one who consecrates our people, our cities to God and to Our Lady, to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to the Sacred Heart of Our Lady, our families
I was amazed to hear a few years ago that the city of Miami through a nun who created a community, contacted the Mayor and told him she wanted to make an act of consecration and he (the Mayor) embraced this nun’s ideas and they did this beautiful act of consecration, a modern city that we can say of “leisure”, of “worldly entertainment”.
Then finally the Mayor of the city of Miami did this act of consecration which was an awesome thing. I remember when I went to Sicily in Syracuse and at the time there was Father Matteo di Gruap (I don’t remember his name anymore); and he made the prayer of Consecration and the Mayor who was the Head of the Region of Sicily read during the apparition “the Act of Consecration” and Our Lady replied: “For this Act that you have done you will not regret, neither your children, nor your children’s children. “
F.L. What city were we in, what city were we in?
M. Syracuse in the Sanctuary of the Madonna.
F.L. Very well, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Tears.
M: I was kneeling before the image of “Our Lady of Tears” in the Sanctuary of Syracuse and She told us: “You will not regret this act of Consecration; neither you, nor your children, nor your children’s children.” Our Lady said She will protect three generations. I hope with all my heart that the Sicilian people will decide to make this act of consecration again.
I remember that schools were closed, it was a Saturday, and this allowed a lot of young people to come and I hope with all my heart that all of Italy will start with their Mayor and every city will begin to make an Act of Consecration. Because if there is no blessing there is a curse. We see it in our own work that when we bless, it effortlessly doubles, triples! And many times we work, work, work, without earning any money, we don’t live a simple normal life anymore because we live to work! If, on the other hand, we do it with God’s blessing, then we begin a good balance and that’s what today’s man lacks.
Because many times we want to work harder to earn a lot, in order to be able to spend our money as well; we accumulate a lot of clothes in our closets overstuffing them. But is this normal? It’s not normal, that’s why Our Lady came to tell us that we need to put order in our lives, put God first and then everything else.
F.L. Marjia, I don’t know how to say it, although Our Lady told us that: “peace is disturbed and Satan wants peacelessness”, it seems to me that the perspective She proposes to us is this: Let’s pray, commit yourselves to the Way of Holiness and that way you will be happy, content, make the good prevail in your heart and you will win. It seems to me that this is the perspective we have and it encourages us a lot.
M. Exactly for this I say: Take courage! Our Lady is with us! She looks at us! She thanks us! She thanks God for each of us! And we must be people who walk with the Lord, who walk with Our Lady, who have joy in our heart, who believe that everything is possible for God, who believe that the Lord is our Shepherd and we will lack nothing! Because if we are with Him we are strong, we are joyful! Because Our Lady always says that we must walk with the joy of the Risen Christ in our Heart, within us, within our thoughts! Not thoughts of suicide, evil thoughts, thoughts that many times I hear mothers telling me: “But my son is negative, he is reserved, he does not want to enjoy life, he does not have hope!” I reply to them: “We Christians are people of hope, of joy, people of vision, and we help each other.”
I remember that during the time of Covid a very nice and solid group of Poles arrived here and asked me this question: “But if one of our brothers needs to work, we will be breaking our backs in order to help him!” And also the same thing money wise; “Until he finds a job we will help him”.
Another example in these Easter time days, I was talking with a friend of mine who is here in our group prayer. Now he is a father of five children and one of them (an handsome young joyful boy) decided to become a friar, and when he made his decision he greeted his parents in the most natural possible way by telling his father that he was going to join his brothers.
As his father saw him go out of the house, he told him that his brothers were in their rooms and he didn’t understand where he was going. The young man replied that he was going to the rectory to meet his brothers; this is to say that we became brothers in God not only with those of the flesh.
He became a brother with the friars, then also with us, with each one of us, because he was as we used to say to Father Slavko: “Father Slavko are you ours or whose other father can you be? He was in fact our father, our brother, our friar, our confessor, he was a person who chose holiness and when a man belongs to God he becomes one who is for all of us.
This is the beauty of vocations, of priesthoods, the beauty of Christians because we no longer belong to each other but since God works within us, it is He whom we become, His extended hands, we become the Holy Spirit who blows where He wants to, how He wants to and when He wants to, we become “builders of peace and carriers of joy of the Risen One” and God wants all this from us.
F.L. we are approaching Pentecost and we can tell the Holy Spirit blows.
M. thanks be to God He certainly blows and we must be proud and happy while many say they are ashamed, but of what? That we are children of God? And that we have something special because of Him.
F.L. Thanks Marjia excellent, very good, now let’s finish with the prayer.
M. with all my heart and I want to say Father Livio let’s pray tonight in a special way for all the people who are without hope, for so many young people who are in confusion, who do not have God in their hearts, let us all pray together that the Lord listens to our prayers, even for all people who are bedridden, sick, desperate; especially for those who need to meet the God of Hope.
